And so that Allah will dispel the wrath from their (the mu’min’s) hearts. Allah accepts the repentance of those who desire. Allah is Aleem (All-knowing) and Hakeem (All-Wise).
Tafsir
The believers, whose souls are perfected by the love of Allah and His Messenger, are distressed and overwhelmed by the persecution of their Islamic brothers and sisters, wherever they are in the world. They do not want Islam to persecute anyone, and they act in accordance with the verse (Spread justice on earth). But since the non-Muslims do not have the light of faith in their hearts, they go to the extreme in oppressing people and take pleasure in their oppression for their own gain.
This is what relieves the believers of their distress and anger in their hearts when they fight on the side of their brothers in Islam who have suffered injustice and oppression, and when they fight on the side of their brothers in Islam and prevent injustice and oppression in the world and spread the justice of Allah on the earth.
Believers are people who have reached the level of Nafs Mutmainnah, whose souls have reached perfection. They defend justice and truth on earth with their hands and tongues. In places where their hands and tongues cannot reach, when they are helpless against the suffering and oppression of their brothers and sisters in Islam who have suffered injustice, and they cannot help them, they hate those who oppress them in their hearts. When Allah (swt) made a covenant with the people (at Qalubala), He gave them their destiny. In this case, He knows the feelings of the people who will come until the Day of Judgment and warns them. In the face of such clear signs and miracles, people, without following Allah and His Messenger, go against the Signs of Allah, satisfy their nafs in the realm of property, do not use their intellect, which Allah has bestowed upon mankind, follow Satan, the nafs and the world, prefer the life of this world to the life of the Hereafter, and if they die in this state, they have bought the life of eternal hell. Such people are heedless and wasting.
(Allah accepts the repentance of those who wish. Allah is All-knowing, All-wise.) Allah did not create human beings free from error. People may commit evil deeds because of their faults and shortcomings and because of their environment. In this respect, whoever regrets the evil he has done, repents and turns to Allah, Allah accepts the repentance of such people with His attribute of Tawwab. He grants them His forgiveness. Allah is the Owner of wisdom. He brings good out of evil and evil out of good by the calamities He gives to people. Surely there is a lesson in these for mankind and examples to be shown to one another. Allah does not create any evil or good in vain. All that is done and created has a wisdom. Because Allah is All-knowing, All-knowing. Humans cannot know what Allah knows. People whose minds are locked at a certain point can only use at most twelve percent of their minds. They cannot use their intellect beyond that. In this respect, Allah knows what He does and why He does it and what wisdom lies behind it. And as much as He has revealed, people know.
What is said in the video
Surah At-Tawbah, verse 15. And may He remove the anger from their hearts, the believers' hearts, He says, the anger, the hearts of people full of the love of Allah, the anger may He remove. Because a person full of the love of Allah, over an event, a calamity that befalls his believing brother, as though it had struck himself, grieves. If, he says in the hadith, a believer cannot share the state of a believer, his faith has not been perfected, he says; then he is not a believer, he is not a believer. The believer, to the tranquil nafs, has risen. "O tranquil nafs, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise": they are the people He says this to, the believers; for them there is no going back, that is, they do not return to kufr.
Yes. They are examples for Muslims. These are people who have attained great ranks. They did not reach this rank with money and wealth. They did not reach this rank with glory and fame. Nor did they reach this rank through the people around them flattering them. For Allah's pleasure they counted their nafs, their nafs, as nothing. They struggled against it. Struggle. And they sidestepped everything their nafs told them. They bound themselves to Allah's verses. Even Satan's whispering became void against him. Here is a verse for you. To My servant who knows Me, Satan's whispering is (?), He says.
How is it (?)? Those believers, their hearts illuminated with Allah's light, they are bound by many verses; the whispering Satan gives strikes the verses that are firmly settled in the heart, and as if it had hit armor, it turns right back. Satan's whispering remains (?) for him.
You who are equipped with outward knowledge, do you know these things? The person who boasts, saying I know Arabic. Do you know these things? Yes. Do you know anything of these verses, of these attributes of the believer that settle in the human heart? Do you now understand why Allah Almighty praises the believer? You, a person who has deified his nafs so much he cannot give up anything of it. A person who turns his back on the verses for worldly goods that please his nafs. A person caught up in ideologies who has had his own mind mortgaged. With which state of your nafs will you use your mind and to Allah's verses turn?
With which state of your nafs? Yes, so with the verses of Allah, of Allah Almighty, so that you reform your nafs, turn to your Lord and fill your heart with the passionate love of Allah, Allah holds a light before you, a light with verses. Not Ahmet's or Mehmet's book, Allah's book. Of course you will not want me, of course you will say I am bound by superstitions, you will come out against me, he is sowing discord in the religion, you will say. The polytheists said the same things to the Prophet too. Yes. Use your minds, do not deify your nafs. Surah At-Tawbah, verse 15. And may He remove the anger from their hearts, the believers' hearts.
Allah accepts the repentance of whoever wishes. They wrote this part wrong too. Allah, it says, accepts the repentance of whom He wills. Whom He wills. That is, Allah will will it; whichever one He wills, by Allah's willing He will accept his repentance. Where did my partial will go? Where did my will go? Actually, here, Surah At-Tawbah, which verse is it? The fifteenth verse. Surah At-Tawbah. The fifteenth verse. It goes: Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. Whom He wills. He accepts his repentance.
Now he has added an explanation here. Let us read his explanation as well. He added an explanation here. Believers who came to Medina from the surrounding lands, became Muslim and returned to their countries were subjected to torture by the people of those countries. So they harbored a deep anger against them. This verse points to the situation of those believers, he says. He points to that. Look at the mindset, look at the mindset. He made the verse point to the past. It does not address this time. Blessed one! I am describing the believer's feeling. His feeling. We live those feelings. We live them. There are believers among us too.
They live them. Among yourselves there are believers too, they live them as well. When an oppression touches Islam, however they (?) toward the one who commits it, however they (?): if what you say addresses the believers back then, this verse's validity (?); in this time there is no such person. Do you see? Those who are (?) and interpret, how nicely they translate it. How nicely they prove themselves like this.
So this verse points to the situation of the believers. Accordingly, regarding those tortures, (?) repents. And to those who became Muslim, that Allah Almighty will accept their repentance too, it announces, he says. He twisted this part a little. That is, he twisted it. As if, if they turn away from torture and repent, Allah Almighty, he says, it points to His accepting their repentance, he says. He cannot say it, you see. The one who wishes, from Allah, the one who wishes repents. If only he had (?) the verse that way. For Allah knows full well the wisdom of everything. Yes.
How beautifully the verses are understood, aren't they? Yes. This does not resemble Ahmet's or Mehmet's book. These are the essences of the verses that one who reformed his nafs, to whose heart Allah made them known by inspiration, has told you.
And may He remove the anger from their hearts, the believers' hearts. Allah accepts the repentance of whoever wishes. Allah is All-Knowing, Wise. Of course He will know. Because He programmed all the worlds, He created them. Until the Day of Judgment there is not a single particle, He says, of which We would not know what it will not do. In this case, what did Allah Almighty create, and why? Its wisdom lies within our Lord's knowledge. And people know as much as He makes known. As far as He makes known: people knowing the wisdom, sensing what is to come, becoming versed in ladunni knowledge in the light of the verses.
Do you even know what ladunni knowledge is? You do not know that either. Yes.
Believers, since their nafs is perfected with the love of Allah and His Messenger, wherever in the world they may be, feel distress because their brothers in Islam suffer persecution. They are distressed. They also do not want Islam to cause anyone suffering. They act according to the verse "Spread justice on earth". But since there is no light of faith in the hearts of non-Muslims, they, toward people, take persecution to the extreme.
In return, they take pleasure in the oppression they commit.
Hodja, does a person take pleasure in oppression?
Because you are a Muslim, because you are wrapped in those feelings, of course you (?). You are a Muslim. You cannot feel his feeling.
You cannot feel that unbeliever's feeling. Because there is pride and arrogance in the unbeliever, those who from the very first, in (?), turned their backs on Allah and waited for the Lord of their own imagination, those to whom the verse "they will not be able to see their Lord" applies, they take their hatred and enmity, their pride and arrogance, out on people through oppression, in feelings of revenge, and are seized by a pleasure in cruelty. They enjoy them, they enjoy taking pleasure. They enjoy inflicting cruelty.
Because they are in pride and arrogance, because they chase glory and fame, when they persecute people, step on their shoulders and see them under their own feet, sunk in a swamp, they feel proud and take pleasure in it. Can you feel these feelings?
Without reforming your nafs, can you feel these feelings? Can you feel the feelings of this non-Muslim? Can you write the meaning of these verses? That is what wisdom means. Being able to sense those feelings. Being able to understand them. To whomever We give wisdom, give knowledge, We again give wisdom. Without wisdom these verses do not open.
Wisdom is being able to grasp the meaning in that verse. Yes.
What are we saying? They also do not want Islam to cause anyone suffering. They act according to the verse "Spread justice on earth". But non-Muslims, since there is no light of faith in their hearts, toward people take persecution to the extreme and in return take pleasure in the oppression they commit. We pass over this part without opening it. We tie what we opened to you a moment ago in this way. So the believers' standing beside their brothers in Islam who suffered injustice and oppression, bracing against injustice and fighting beside their brothers in Islam, and preventing injustice and oppression on earth, spreading Allah's justice over the earth, relieves the believers, and from distress and the anger in their hearts frees them.
What if there were anger? No anger remains in the believer's heart. The believer lives in peace. Peace was in Islam, wasn't it? If he is to live in peace in Islam, he must be bound by Allah's verses so that he lives in peace. Yes. So how will he attain that peace? He will attain it by (?) with Allah's verses. Believing people are those who have risen to the tranquil nafs, whose nafs is perfected. With their hands and tongues they defend justice and truth on earth. Truth. Where their hands and tongues cannot reach, of their brothers in Islam who suffered injustice, in the face of their pain and the oppression they endure, when they are left helpless, because they cannot help them, against those who oppress them they feel anger and resentment.
When Allah Almighty made the covenant with people at Qalu Bala, He gave them their wishes as their destiny. So He knows the feelings of the people who will come until the Day of Judgment, and He warns people. In the face of verses and such clear miracles, if people, without following Allah and His Messenger, oppose Allah's verses, satisfy their nafs in the realm of mulk, do not use the precious minds Allah has bestowed on people, run after Satan, the nafs and the world, and prefer the life of this world to the hereafter, and die in this state, they will have bought the eternal life of Hell. Such people are heedless and in loss.
And I call out to you from here like this. To the one who, saying "I am a Muslim", stands at the head of millions of people, who acts by his nafs and, though he sees the truth, cannot bow, in the grandeur of his nafs, and follows Satan's footsteps, to that person I call out. We are worried about your end. Your end. Allah's verses are (?). Before the light of faith leaves your heart, turn to the truth with repentance and seeking forgiveness. Be bound by the truth. Rather than, among the tactless and those who do not know themselves, like a hero living and in the end going with a load of sins into Allah's presence, to live like an ordinary person and with a load of good deeds to go into Allah's presence is more virtuous than this.
Come to your senses. With glory, fame, pride, arrogance, with egotism, over the people gathered around you establishing dominion, speaking recklessly, saying "Allah and His Messenger said so", telling people unsound hadiths and superstitions as hadith, saying "Allah said so", slandering Allah with verses Allah never said, do not push yourselves toward the fire prepared for the unbelievers.
I have advice for you. Say whatever you like to me. I will never give up speaking the truth. And I will always remind you of the truth. Until I die. With Allah's verses. Think about it. Are you truly bound by Allah's verses? Or after the people to whom you mortgaged your mind, or after words pleasing to your nafs, are you being dragged along? Think about it.
Yes. What did we say believing people are? People who have risen to the tranquil nafs, whose nafs is perfected. Do you know what nafs al-mutmainna is?
It is to be acquainted with the manifestations of Allah Almighty. With the words you say, how nicely you prove your place. This man proves Allah, "you saw", he says. How nicely he states his own place. Believe me, this man has perhaps not yet seen the Prophet even in his dream. O you who live heedlessly, in this state of yours, so far from attaining the Prophet's intercession, still bound by superstitions as you are, how do you rise up against those who speak the truth?
People, to see the Prophet (peace be upon him) in their dreams, compete. What is the reason? Whoever sees him in a dream attains his intercession, that is why. He attains intercession. You have not even seen a trace of him yet.
But shall I tell you something? He jokes with me very nicely. Very nicely he jokes.
Let me tell you of a spirituality your mind cannot grasp. A spirituality. (?), none can take on the guise of Allah and His Messenger. None of them can represent him. Allah and His Messenger. I am in a place. A place.
There is a shelter going down under the ground.
Two people are beside me.
That one, one of them, is calling Muhammad to me. "Call Muhammad to me," he says, (?) he says, and he darts off at once; I turn to the one who said "call Muhammad to me" and say, I say, my (?) is burning, (?), I say, we should have gone to him ourselves; at me he looks like this, looks like this, the Prophet, coming out of that shelter, does exactly this to me with his eye. "What's up, couldn't you recognize?" That is, our Lord. Who are you talking to? (?). You are unaware of yourself. You are unaware of yourself. I do not say a word in vain. Look for a wisdom in every word I say. Look for a wisdom. I do not tell you even one in a thousand of what I have seen.
Supposedly Satan whispers into my ear and I fall for Satan's game. Satan cannot whisper into my ear, not my ear. He does not even come near me. He can only give a whispering. But since our Lord's verses are firmly set in my heart, that whispering strikes them as if against armor. It goes right back. Just like this verse. We, He says, while placing Our verses in the heart of the Prophet, He says, let Satan by no means (?) to give a whispering, He says. (?). Those who cannot know this verse say this. He interprets. And he interprets the verse like that. Allah Almighty supposedly cancels Satan's whispering and made His own verse firm.
He cannot know the situation. Like an event never experienced. He only interprets it that way by Arabic grammar, according to his mind. Whereas: We place the verses firmly in the heart of the Messenger. The whispering Satan gives strikes them and is cancelled, He says. Cancelled. It is not that Allah cancels Satan's whispering. Satan's whispering strikes the verses that powerfully reached, that settled in that heart, and is cancelled. Do you know the meanings of these verses? You have risen up; who are you dealing with, who are you talking about? Yes.
The polytheists also said a lot against the Prophet.
As I said a moment ago, you are facing a fire, a fire.
The more you attack, the more you burn yourself. Notice: until now I answer everything said, every word said, with verses. If you are human, if you have a mind, if you are a Muslim, then about the verses I tell, say, Hodja Efendi, it is not like that but like this, go on. You cannot. Ahmet's book says this, in Mehmet's book it is like this; by superstitions you have been bound. Yes. Those who do not know themselves may talk a lot. So heedless that you cannot grasp from my talks what kind of person I am, is how you live. At least let me remind you of this saying of Hazrat Mevlana, so that a little perhaps you come to your senses. Tell me one word, he says, and I will tell you where you are.
Do you know the meaning of these? You have not passed through those realms to know. Yes.
We continue with the verse. We are always within the verses anyway. We keep opening the verses as we go anyway. We keep opening them with the feelings that are lived. Yes.
Believing people have risen to the tranquil nafs. They are people whose nafs is perfected. With their hands and tongues they defend justice and truth on earth. Where their hands and tongues cannot reach, of their brothers in Islam who suffered their injustices, injustices, in the face of their pain and the oppression they endure, when they are left helpless, because they cannot help them, against those who oppress them they feel anger and resentment. Allah, when Allah Almighty at Qalu Bala made the covenant with people, He gave them their wishes as their destiny. So He knows the feelings of the people who will come until the Day of Judgment, and He warns people. A person who does not even know of this covenant yet.
A person who does not know what it is.
Truly, if someone spoke and answered you with knowledge, (?) cut you down to size. When answers are given with superstitions within a circle of ignorance, though we answer people in the light of the verses, still their lashing out, their speaking without feeling their responsibility in Allah's knowledge, and turning their backs on the truth from the outset: how nicely they themselves make themselves witnesses to it. Both against us and against their Muslim believing brothers, against themselves and against Allah. How nicely they bear witness. Yes. My witness is Allah.
Because I tell Allah's verses. Your witness is Ahmet, Mehmet. Their books. Superstitions. Be bound by them, then.
So when it comes up to the Day of Judgment, He knows people's feelings and warns people. In the face of verses and such clear miracles, if people, without following Allah and His Messenger, oppose Allah's verses, satisfy their nafs in the realm of mulk, do not use the precious minds Allah has bestowed on people, run after Satan, the nafs and the world, prefer the life of this world to the hereafter, and die in this state, they will have bought the eternal life of Hell. Such people are heedless and in loss. Yes.
Allah accepts the repentance of whoever wishes. Whoever wishes. Allah is All-Knowing, Wise. Allah Almighty did not create people free of error. Since people are fallible and imperfect, because of the environment they are in, they may have committed evil. In this respect, whoever, whoever regrets the evil they did, repents and returns to Allah, Allah Almighty, by His attribute At-Tawwab, accepts the repentance of such people. Yes.
He grants them pardon and forgiveness. Allah Almighty is Wise. With the calamities He gives people, He brings evil out of good and good out of evil. In these there is surely a lesson for people and examples to be shown to one another. Allah creates no evil and no good in vain. He creates no evil and no good in vain. He gives a lesson and examples to be shown to one another. The things created have a wisdom. Because Allah is the Knower, All-Knowing. It is not possible that people do not know what Allah knows. It is not possible for them to know. People who have locked their minds at a certain point can run at most twelve percent of their minds.
Beyond that they cannot use their minds. Therefore Allah knows what He did and why, and what wisdoms He placed beneath what He did. And as far as He makes known, people know.
