When the appointed day came and Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' met the magicians, the magicians said to Hazrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm', "Will you show your skill first or shall we throw? Hadrat Musa 'alaihis-salâm' said to the magicians, 'Throw whatever you can, show whatever skill you have.

We have come to Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 43. Moses said to them: Throw whatever you are going to throw, to the magicians. When the day set for Moses (peace be upon him) with the magicians arrived, and he faced the magicians, the magicians, showing courtesy to Moses (peace be upon him), said: Will you show your skill first, or shall we throw? And Moses (peace be upon him) said to the magicians: Throw whatever you will throw, whatever skill you have, show it.
