In verse 50 of Surah Ash-Shu'ara, what do the sorcerers say? No harm, they said. In any case, we will surely return to our Lord. That is: then every soul will taste death, and your return is to Me, says Allah Almighty. That is in fact what the verse means. No harm, they said. In any case, we will surely return to our Lord. Whether it happens now or later. Whether you had my foot (?), (?), it makes no difference, he says.
The sorcerers paid no heed to Pharaoh's threats. Because they had seen and understood the truth, and because, through their faith in Allah, they had been saved from the swamps of the age of ignorance, they praised and glorified Allah and no longer feared Pharaoh. The sorcerers, to Pharaoh: No harm. That is: whatever you do to us, whether we die a moment sooner or a moment later is, for us, no longer of any concern. How shall we put it? Surely we, to our Lord, to Allah who created us, will return, they said.
