Translation
If they desired to go (to battle), they would have made preparations for it. But they were upon ill-intended deeds towards Allah. They became among those who sit with those who are sitting (women and children).
Tafsir
Had they been loyal to Allah and His Messenger, they would have taken their places on the side of Allah and His Messenger and made preparations for war. However, their hearts are full of suspicion and doubt. In this state, they have determined their own direction in the Hereafter, and Allah has given them what they want. Therefore, they fear situations of war and seek refuge.
That is why Allah degrades such people and says, "They have become of those who sit with those who sit (with women and children). Allah created the woman incomplete and the man complete. Therefore, women are under the protection of men. Since children are also weak and in need of protection, Allah insults them by saying, "You have become of those who sit like women and children.
Such people have imprinted in their nature such traits as fear of war, attachment to the world as if they will never die, love of wealth and possessions, and inseparability from their children and well-wishers. When such people come to the world, they work in accordance with these traits. They bear witness to their surroundings, to themselves and to Allah. They will be with those who sit with these characters.
What is said in the video
We have come to Surah At-Tawbah, verse 46. Had they wished to go out to battle, they would surely have made some preparation for it. This verse has been interpreted wrongly, interpreted wrongly. Now, let us read the correct one here. As we have it written, let's first read the wrong one, then the correct one.
First I read the wrong one. Had they wished to go out to battle, they would surely have made some preparation for it. These parts are correct. But Allah found their conduct ugly. That is, Allah did not know beforehand how they behaved. He found their conduct of that kind ugly. That is, they tie it to the event. They tie it to daily, hourly, minute-by-minute events. Allah found their conduct ugly and held them back. Because He found it ugly, He held them back. Even if I was ugly, maybe I would have been of (?) use. Why did You leave me behind? All right, I may be ugly. My actions may have been ugly.
I would still go to war anyway. At least, even if I don't kill anyone beside them, if I appear as one more against the enemy, it may count. It earns reward. In this case, Allah is being given attributes here. They were told: sit with those who sit, with the women and children. If I said so (?), I sat too.
Yes. Now we read the correct one. Had they wished to go out to battle, they would surely have made some preparation for it. We already said this part is correct. But they were engaged in ugly conduct toward Allah. They were engaged in ugly conduct toward Allah. That is, their disobedience to Allah's word was (?). Their wish was already like this. This wish of theirs was given to them as destiny. They play out that destiny in the worldly realm. They behave in ugly ways toward Allah Almighty. You know, they come to the point of not listening to His commands. Yes. (?) But they were engaged in ugly conduct toward Allah.
They became of those who sit with those who sit, with women and children. They themselves. It was not Allah who told them to sit with them. Allah Almighty did not say it. They themselves were with those who sit. As I said before, although war, war is not upon our women, they were with those who sit with them. And yet many, many of our women in that War of Independence, all together, our ladies took part in the war. They carried weapons on their shoulders to the fronts. They gave up their night's sleep. And those mothers of ours, those sisters of ours who lived Islam, our mothers, left to us as a gift this strength, the homeland, and our religion that will win this home of eternal bliss.
If they now look back — it's not much, just a little.
If they look at the past — which is not long ago, just a little. The Battle of Gallipoli, the Caucasus campaign, the War of Independence.
How they protected us, how they defended our homeland, how they left us the religion of Islam. And we, as their children, their grandchildren — I wonder, are we able to be worthy of them? They abided by Allah's verses, they tried to be a servant worthy of Allah and carried out Allah's commands. And we, as their grandchildren, as their children, have we been able to be worthy of our mothers, our fathers, our ancestors? Or have we been able to abide by the verses of Allah who created us? If a person cannot ask himself questions, he cannot find the truth. If a person does not take into account what is right, the past, the future, Allah's verses and people's lives, and against the verses does not weigh the past, compare and reckon, that person's intellect is deficient, or he is devoid of intellect, or, according to Allah Almighty's verse "Do you never think, do you never reflect?", chasing after the feelings of the nafs, after worldly feelings, having cast Allah and the hereafter behind them, he falls into the state of such people.
Yes.
So, had they wished to go out to battle, to battle, they would surely have made some preparation for it. But they were engaged in ugly conduct toward Allah. They became of those who sit with those who sit, with women and children. This is the correct version of the verse.
Had they been loyal to Allah and His Messenger, we say. Had they been loyal to Allah and His Messenger, surely they would have taken their place for battle beside Allah and the Messenger and prepared for battle. Whereas these are people whose hearts are full of suspicion and doubt. In this state they determined their own course in (?), and Allah gave them what they wished. For this reason, in times of war they are afraid and take a place to hide.
That is why Allah, humbling such people, says: you too, like the women and children, sit where you are. You have become of those who sit, He says. Now He humbles them. What does He say?
O people with suspicions in their hearts, who in the face of so many miracles do not want to see the truth, who console themselves with false beliefs, who delight in things that please the world and the nafs, and to you, (?), turn their back — O man, He says. Because you are with those who sit, shame on you, He says. Shame on you. Yes, Allah Almighty insults them in this way. You have become of those who sit, with those who sit, He says. Allah created woman deficient and man complete. For this reason women are under the protection of men. Since children and the weak are also in need of protection, Allah says to these people in insult: you too sit like women and children.
That is, in need of protection by other men, not turning to Allah in need, loving his life too much, cowardly, with no share in the hereafter — a wretched person, He says. A wretched person. In the nature of such people, as we listed above, there is fear of battle, clinging to the world as if never to die, loving wealth and property too much and not parting from children and family; therefore they themselves had their destinies written so. When such people come to the worldly realm, in line with these characters they act and make themselves witness before those around them, themselves and Allah.
With these characters, they too are with those who sit. They cannot fight.
