Translation

What prevents their spending to be accepted is nothing but their denial of Allah and Allah’s Messenger, their lethargic coming to the prayer and their involuntary spending.

Tafsir

The expenditures of hypocrites and polytheists are prevented from being accepted because of their disbelief in Allah and His Messenger. Because such people deny Allah and the Hereafter. Their whole life is their worldly life here. Therefore, the hypocrites and polytheists, who do not believe in the resurrection after death, have all their wealth and love in their hands, which Allah has created, and their children. As if his wealth and possessions will save him from death and give him life.

Therefore, whether voluntarily or involuntarily, they give for their own benefit or for their own pride and ego, and Allah does not accept their charity or wealth as good deeds.

The meaning of "unacceptable" here is that their expenditures are not accepted, since every iota of good and every iota of evil is written down; because of their egoism, their pride and grandeur, their deification of their own nafs, their associating shirk with Allah, their expenditures from the goods or charity they give for their own benefit, and the burden of sin they take, when they are compared with the rewards they earn from the goods they give, the rewards are very little compared to the sins they earn, so their good and good deeds are not accepted. And all their good deeds have been in vain.

Because when they stand up for prayer, they stand up lazily. The meaning of lazily getting up for prayer here is that these people are hypocrites who camouflage themselves, saying that they are Muslims, when in fact they are not Muslims, but they are hypocrites who pretend to be Muslims, who go to the mosque at prayer times unwillingly, and who want to make themselves look like they are praying. Since their spending is also involuntary, they will not benefit from the charity and good deeds they do.

What is said in the video

Yes, from verse 54 we will continue.

Allah Almighty says in His verse that nothing prevents their spending from being accepted except that they deny Allah and His Messenger, come to prayer only lazily, and spend only unwillingly, He says. So, as we said in the (?) verses, all the good deeds they did in the world have come to nothing. Who are these? The disbelievers, the polytheists. Outside of the verse İnne'd-dîne inda'llâhi'l-İslâm, people who hold various ideologies. Such people, if they had not one world but one more world full of jewels, would want in the hereafter to give it to Allah Almighty as ransom and be saved. That is why their spending, their spending is to satisfy their own carnal desires.

Or, to take their enmity toward Allah even further, it is money they spend with the aim of showing enmity to Allah and His Messenger, and so their goods, their property, you see, such spending of theirs is not acceptable. In this case, as for Allah Almighty, what prevents their spending from being accepted is their denying Allah and His Messenger, coming to prayer only lazily, and these are the hypocrites, and their spending only unwillingly, nothing else. That is, they spend no money for the religion of Islam, and what they do spend they spend in the direction of enmity toward Islam, so their spending (?) accepted.

Yes. Because they deny Allah and His Messenger, the hypocrites' and polytheists' spending has been barred from acceptance. Because such people deny Allah and the hereafter. And because they deny, all the good deeds they did have come to nothing. The verses confirm one another in this way. Yes.

Their whole life is their world here. That is, their paradise is truly this world. Because however much pain and hardship they may, within their own carnal desires, have suffered, even if they were rolled about in a barrel of needles in the world, their world and their paradise is still this world. Because the hereafter, the punishment of its hereafter is tremendous. Yes. If you say, Hodja, have you been there that you say it is so tremendous, Allah Almighty tells it. What does He say?

Their being presented to that fire which throws out sparks like yellow camels.

Bound with chains as big as cubits, their (?) over the fires, their being whipped, the punishment there, perhaps I can say, not even one millionth of that punishment can one live through here. One in a million, not one in a hundred or one in a thousand. For example, if a person cannot bear the torture here and dies, how will he bear it there? There is no death for souls.

In this world, if you cannot bear a torment, you die. But since there is no death there, a person who cannot bear the torment of this place, how will he bear the torment there? Yes, their whole life is their world here, we said. In this respect, the hypocrites and polytheists who do not believe that resurrection after death is real: their whole existence and love are the goods Allah created that are in their hands, and their children. Hodja, they believe in Allah too, don't they? Well, now you say here that in this respect they deny the hereafter. They deny the hereafter. There are also those who don't deny the hereafter, there are those who (?) that they will rise again too. There are Christians and Hebrews there, but what does Allah Almighty say in His verse?

They say Allah is three, He says. Whereas Allah has no spouse, no partner, no (?), no child. No child. No spouse, no partner, no (?), no child. One. (?) what does He say in another verse? They say, He says, punishment will not touch us for more than three days. Do they have any proof in their hands, He says. This is two. Third, they say we are the sons of Allah, He says. Again, do they have any proof in their hands, He says. So even if they have believed in the hereafter, it means that because of such accusations against Allah Almighty, denying Allah Almighty's attributes and associating partners with Him, they become people of hell forever.

So both those who deny the hereafter and those who don't, because they associate partners with Allah, are people of hell forever. Yes. As if his goods and family will save him from death and (?) him life. What are we saying? All the polytheists' being and love are the goods Allah created in their hands and their children. Their children. They went so far in counting relatives and kin, He says, that they started counting the dead in the graves too, He says. Yes. Perhaps, from the hand of Allah, those relatives and kin will save them. Perhaps. What does Allah Almighty say? Even if (?) came, they cannot overpower Allah.

Yes.

Had we told these in the last lesson, we would have just skimmed over them. For these there will be time, plenty of time, (?) time. You will open up verses together with verses. It will be very nice. Yes.

For this reason, since they give their goods, whether willingly or unwillingly, for their own interest or for their pride and ego, Allah does not accept the alms or goods they give as good deeds. Well, Hodja, doesn't that contradict the verse again? Doesn't it contradict it?

You know, what happened to their good deeds that will be recorded? Doesn't it contradict according to that? It does not contradict. How did that come to your mind? Open it up and let's hear, Hodja. What did you earn today, this month? Five thousand lira. What did you spend? Six thousand lira. You are at a loss. These too (?) good deeds (?) Evil of an atom's weight is recorded. But if all the good deeds they did have come to nothing, they have all been wiped away. That is, they were not accepted. Yes. Not accepted. If they had been accepted, what would Allah Almighty have done with them?

He would have weighed their good deeds together with their sins, like the Muslims.

If the Muslims' sins are more, they would enter hell. There they would suffer as much punishment as is due, and after that nafs reached perfection, they would come out of there. The sinners among the Muslims will be like this.

If their good deeds had been accepted; since they were not, there is no coming out of there for them either. Yes.

We have already written: the meaning of being accepted here, since an atom's weight of good done and an atom's weight of evil are recorded, is that their spending is not accepted, because with their ego, pride and arrogance, by their own nafs, they spend, because they associate partners with Allah, their spending from goods they give for their own interest, or from alms; the burden of sin they take on, with the rewards they earn from the goods they give, when (?) is shown, since the (?) rewards remain very little beside the sins they earn, their good deeds are not accepted, He decrees. We said. All the good deeds they did have also come to nothing.

That is, they have been wiped away. Yes.

Here

there is one more word I need to say.

People who appear on television today as stars, even if they give zakat, Allah Almighty does not accept their zakat.

So even if it is recorded, their zakat is not accepted. If it had been accepted, Allah Almighty, if the zakat they gave had been accepted, they would have fulfilled their duties under the religion of Islam. In that case, if zakat, one of Islam's five pillars, is not accepted from a person, those who say I am Muslim and lead the way on television, those stars, stars of kufr, stars of corrupting morals, stars of those who act outside decency and manners and overstep the limits,

stars who step outside Allah's command in deeds unbefitting the religion of Islam, destroying human honor and dignity, and because of our Lord creating man honorable, beside people living with honor and renown in Allah's sight, living with dignity; these, (?) the attribute of humanity, are like animals roaming the earth, He says, and more astray in their course, He says, the people whose stars they are. Their course is dangerous.

They are after fame and glory, after being talked about, racing after immorality; for worldly gain, the mafia, whose eyes see nothing but the world, and the women traffickers play with them like toys in their hands and use them as they please, these people. Since these too act outside the religion of Islam, if they do not repent, the road they have taken is a very bad road. Whether they will go within the fitra of Islam is also unknown. It is up to Allah. Yes. That is why, if every good deed were accepted, every good deed, they would get off the hook. They would serve their punishment for a while and get off the hook.

Since their zakat is not accepted either, that their course and their final end are bad is emphasized by this verse. God willing, such people will leave immorality. They will turn to the truth and get off the hook. Otherwise, things are bad for them. Our part is to say it. We are saying it. We are saying the truth. We are saying Allah's verses. Not getting carried away by our own carnal feelings, we do not use our own mind in any way, we do not speak from our own mind. Because these are Allah's verses. If, according to our own mind, we had (?) the verses and spoken them, The religion of Islam is one in the universe.

If every person (?) the religion of Islam according to his own mind, an Islam according to each person's mind comes about, so that among billions of people, billions of religions of Islam appear. Allah forbid. That is why our words weigh heavily on people. They weigh heavily. They weigh heavily on the nafs.

They weigh heavily on their own way of life.

In that case, they don't want to listen. Whereas they don't know that, with words that will build my tomorrow and lead me to salvation and success in my hereafter, my Hodja is holding a light before me.

If one did not give in to the whims of the nafs, and did not pay heed to the temptation Satan gives him,

and turned to Allah's verses, he would surely take delight in the religion of Islam. Yes. Allah, gives life to people with His verses. He protects people's honor and dignity. Worthy of the attribute of humanity, among His servants they are known as trustworthy people, dignified people, and come forth as a personality and live in peace. If a person lived Islam; I tell them, with Allah's verses, about the path of peace, the bright paths, the paradises of the realm of the hereafter that our Lord has promised us. If we step outside of this, as Allah Almighty decreed to the Prophet (peace be upon him), He says: give them good tidings of paradise and warn them of hell.

Yes, and in keeping with those verses, we too explain to people our Lord's verses. If my speaking like this offends people, let them not take offense.

Let them take their heads in both hands and think. Deceived by the passing worldly life, in order to (?) the punishment of the hereafter, let them turn to Allah Almighty and repent. What does it mean that Allah does not accept their zakat? What does it mean?

He is my Lord. If He did not accept a single good deed of mine, I would eat myself, myself up. I would eat myself up asking, what did I do against my Lord? Yes. That is why a person must know he is responsible to his Creator.

Yes. He decrees that their good deeds are not accepted. All the good deeds they did have also come to nothing. Because when they get up for prayer, they get up lazily. Here, the meaning of getting up lazily for prayer is: these people camouflage themselves, say I am Muslim but are actually not Muslim, appear to be Muslim, and at prayer times go to the mosque unwillingly, they are hypocrites who want to show themselves as praying. Yes. Because they have interests from people, from Muslims, they go around after them, people who show themselves as Muslim. When they go to their own partisans, we are only mocking them, He says, we are mockers.

Would we ever be with them, they say.

Since their spending is unwilling too, the good deeds they did bring them no benefit.

Yes.
