(Oh, Muhammad!) Do not let their wealth and children impress you, for these only increase their suffering in this worldly life. They will die as disbelievers because of what their souls (nafs) have committed.
Tafsir
O Muhammad! O you who believe! Let not the children and children and wealth and money of the disbelievers envy you. For the life of this world is a little benefit and a place of rest. Those who disbelieve and turn away from Allah and His Apostle spend their lives in idleness with their children and their wealth. Those who pass on to the Hereafter without Islam and without being grateful for Allah's blessings will go as disbelievers. Again, when Allah says, "Your wealth and children are a Fitnah for you," the meaning of Fitnah here is that if a person eats and drinks the blessings that Allah has given him, boasts of his children and possessions, does not see that they have been given to him as a blessing from Allah, and is prevented from the path of Allah with them, his wealth and possessions, his children and possessions will be a Fitnah for him. This is because this person does not see the Giver of these blessings in the face of what Allah has given him, he has distanced himself from the existence of Allah, and instead of loving Allah the most, he has introduced the love of children and wealth into the love of Allah, and because he loves Allah's creatures more than Allah, and because his children and children, wealth and property have kept him from the path of Allah, they have become a temptation for him.
And if a man dwells on these things and wastes his life in this way, their souls will pass on to the Hereafter as disbelievers. O you who believe, do not be like them and forget Allah and buy torment in the abode of eternal bliss. Value everything as it should be valued. Do not put any love between you and the love of Allah by comparing everything with its double. Do not set your heart on Allah's creatures, which will surpass the love of Allah.
What is said in the video
Yes, we have come to verse 55.
O Muhammad! Let not their wealth and children make you envious. For with these they only increase their own punishment in the life of the world, and they depart as disbelievers by what their nafs has done. This verse has been explained wrongly.
The verse has been explained wrongly. It was explained like this. O Muhammad! Let not their wealth and children make you envious. Correct. We explained it just now. For Allah only wants with these to increase their punishment in the life of the world and for their souls to depart as disbelievers. As if Allah Almighty, knowing they would be like this in the hereafter, couldn't have thrown us into hell without bringing us into the world? Was He not able to? Why did He bring us into the world? So that everyone, with their own will, by the deeds they will bring forth, proves what kind of person they are, He brought us into the world.
So in that case, the correct one, the correct one is this. O Muhammad, let not their wealth and children make you envious. For with these they only increase their own punishment in the life of the world. They increase their own punishment. And they, by what their nafs has done, as disbelievers depart. Look, by what their nafs has done. Yes. So that is the correct one. Because Allah does not wait, so that someone's soul goes to hell, in such punishment (?), for it to depart. Yes.
O you who believe!
Let not the families and children (?) and money of the disbelievers make you envious. Remember we said in verse 54: they don't believe in the hereafter. Even if they believe, with their goods and property, paradise is theirs. In fact, goods and family, so far did they go, we said, that they began counting the dead in the graves too. I'm not the one saying it. My Lord says it with His verses. Yes.
For the life of the world is a stopping place with little benefit. Yes, don't we say (?)? We eat and drink from what Allah created, we (?). And a brief stopping place. Allah Almighty, who created time within time, has made the 60-70-year lifespan of this world last one, one and a half hours. A thousand years of the hereafter, that is, a thousand years of the world, is like one day of the hereafter. Yes, like one day.
If we multiply a thousand by twenty-four, we turn it into hours. Into hours. A thousand by twenty-four. No. We won't multiply a thousand by twenty-four. First we'll multiply a thousand by twelve. The months. Or first we'll multiply a thousand by three hundred sixty-five. One year. A thousand years, one year. Three hundred sixty-five. That is, one year comes out as one. Since it will be a thousand years, if we multiply by 365, a thousand makes 365 thousand. If we multiply that by a thousand too, then it becomes the thousand years of (?). If we divide this by 24, multiply by 24, we convert it into hours.
If we divide, a few hours. A thousand years. The thousand years of (?). Corresponds to a few hours. A life of 60-70 years. If we apply it to the years. In that case, this place is reduced to a place of little benefit and a brief stay. Like the realm of the hereafter versus the realm of the world. In that case, what does Allah Almighty say? This is a stopping place with little benefit, that is, a place to make a living, to eat and drink, and to prove what kind of person one is: the realm of the world, this realm of the world. In that case, if this person is deceived by a few hours of here and abandons the eternal, endless, never-ending paradise of delight and pleasure, and buys an eternal, never-ending place of torment and suffering, are these people sensible people?
Make the comparison (?). That is why Allah Almighty says it so beautifully. Do you not use your reason at all, He says. He addresses his reason. Do you not think? Do you never reflect? Yes.
How beautifully our Lord advises us to use our reason. Yes.
Those who disbelieve, who turn away from Allah and His Messenger, spend their lives distracted with their families, children and goods. He counts the goods he has earned. Today I earned this much. Tomorrow, if I do this to that person, I'll earn so much money from that. Setting traps against people. Selling their shoddy, rotten goods at a high price, deceiving people and, without regard to halal or haram, amassing, loading the world's burden on his back, becoming a porter of the world, such are the conditions resulting from people living far from Allah. The life of the non-Muslim in this state I compare to this.
The life of the non-Muslim in this way.
We are going on a ship in the ocean. On a ship in the ocean. Right in the middle of that ocean, of the depths of the desolate, boundless sea, right in the middle, a great wave, the ship sinks. The ship is full of treasure. The treasures spread over the water. Its gold, silver, (?), ruby do not sink but spread over the water. This person, without thinking of his own life, falls on these treasures as much as he can. And he says: how will I carry this treasure in the middle of this sea? Worldly goods carry a responsibility too, you know. Second, how will I reach land with this treasure?
That is, how will I save my life? Third, from the sharks, the predators in this sea, how will I take shelter, escape and reach salvation? From the hardships of the world, from robbers, from cutpurses, from the games of my nafs and Satan, how will I escape and win the hereafter? Just as that person in the middle of the sea falls on that treasure and thinks of nothing else, in the end he is buried with that treasure at the bottom of the sea. Yes. I compare the lives of those non-Muslims to this. Because they don't think about the hereafter. Their whole world is this world. Let him eat, drink and enjoy himself.
Yet man is under a great responsibility. For everything he eats and drinks, everything he uses, every word he speaks, he will be called to account, and is not even aware of it, the poor man. Yes.
So those who turn away from Allah and His Messenger spend their lives distracted with their families, children and goods. Those who pass on to the hereafter without giving thanks for the blessings Allah gave. They depart as disbelievers. Again, as for Allah Almighty saying your wealth and your children are a fitnah too, by fitnah here is meant: he eats, drinks and uses the blessings Allah Almighty gave. Yes.
He boasts of his children and family; that these were given to him as a grace from Allah he does not see. That Allah Almighty, our Lord, gave those people a grace and that they will be tested with those people, those goods, he does not know. If they are kept from Allah's path by these, their goods and property, children and family become a fitnah for them. Fitnah. Today, poor people, I will call them.
Even though the child is on a bad path, even though it does not live Islam, it tells its mother and father: what you do doesn't suit us. How am I going to call you mother and father in front of my friends? We hear these words, we hear them.
And they are the ones who change their lives and follow their children. Whether he followed the bad path of his nafs, or followed the temptation Satan gave, or, worse still, found the path his son took good and followed his becoming a fitnah to him and drawing him away from Allah.
Today most of our people do not escape the period of ignorance and, like sleepwalkers, don't know they are living by remote control. By remote control. When the children of a person who lives Islam go to university gates today, that mother's, that father's pride, look at it. My son is studying at university. A nice thing, of course. The child will study.
He will progress. He will develop his mind. But let it be what they have them taught at that university.
