Tafsir
If people trusted in Allah and His Messenger, they would believe that Allah and His Messenger are the ones who do not do injustice and fulfill justice. Just as Allah extends His mercy to His servants in the realm of property without discrimination, He extends justice to all on earth, regardless of language, religion, race or sect. No one can do injustice to anyone. He cannot say, "I am a beloved servant of Allah, I can do as I please. Since closeness to Allah is between man and Allah, no one knows how he will end up. So, since the creatures are also Allah's servants, Allah's mercy is for everyone in the universe and He never does injustice among the creatures. And those who do injustice will be held accountable for their injustice on the Day when every soul will give an account to Allah.
It would have been better for these people if they had trusted in Allah and His Messenger and accepted what was given to them (and said, "Soon Allah will give us out of His bounty, and His Messenger will give us out of His bounty, and we are those who seek Allah alone").
The first meaning of this verse is that Allah (swt) provides for the people who live the life of this world by opening the doors of mercy on them in ways they do not know. In another meaning, according to the Verse (every soul will taste death), Allah (swt), who prepares the Hereafter for His beloved ones in return for the life of this world, says that Allah (swt) will reward this servant in the Hereafter and His Messenger (swt) will be rewarded by Allah (swt) and His Rasul (swt) will be rewarded by Allah (swt) in the Hereafter if the person in the life of this world gives consent to his/her situation and is pleased with Allah (swt). Surely it is better for him to say, "Allah will soon give us out of His bounty, and so will His Messenger," and to trust in Allah and to put his trust in Him, than to take the wealth of the world unjustly.
What is said in the video
Yes, if they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them, and said: Allah is sufficient for us; Allah will soon give us of His bounty, and His Messenger too; we turn only to Allah in hope – it would have been better, it says. How beautifully Allah Almighty shows you the way.
With the alms that the Prophet distributed – if only they had been content.
Surely Allah gives to us too from His own bounty. Allah has many unknown doors. My Lord does not lay (?) on anyone that they cannot bear. And no one can take anything from this world to the hereafter with us. My provision is what I eat and drink, what I consume and wear out. The rest will remain as inheritance, and I am the one who will also be responsible for it. So then: O my Lord, from Your provision that I eat and drink, that I consume and wear out, from that provision of mine, protect me from the forbidden, grant me from the lawful, O my Lord, he will say. From the wealth and property You gave me, from this property You granted me, to my children and family – this wealth of mine that will remain, let me leave it to my family from the lawful, grant me that, O my Lord, he will say.
Even if You give me nothing at all in my world, even if You give nothing at all, be pleased with me – if a person says this, he joins the rich of the hereafter. Yes. When a person prays: O Allah, give me in this world if You wish, in the hereafter if You wish; now if You wish, later if You wish – I am pleased with You, he says. The prayer: Allahümme f'al bî ve bihim âcilen ve âcilen fi'd-dünya ve'l-âhireti, he says. Fi'd-dünya ve'l-âhireti. To me, and âcilen – that is, now if You wish, later if You wish – give. In this world if You wish, in the hereafter if You wish, give. You are the Generous, the Merciful, the Kind.
You are remembering Him. And by remembering Allah and being content with what comes from Him, you try to join those whom Allah Almighty loves. What a beautiful thing. But the hypocrites are not like that. The hypocrites always say: give me in this world. Then, it says, they have no share in the hereafter. Yes. What does Allah Almighty say? If they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them and said: Allah is sufficient for us; Allah will soon give us of His bounty, and His Messenger too; we turn only to Allah in hope – it would have been better, it says.
Yes. Let me repeat that prayer. Allahümme f'al bî ve bihim âcilen ve âcilen fi'd-dünya ve'l- âhireti.
When I start explaining it here, I get confused. But it is a prayer I say all the time. Allahümme f'al bî ve bihim âcilen ve âcilen fi'd-dîni ve'd-dünya ve'l-âhireti mâ ente lehû ehlün ve lâ tef'al binâ yâ mevlânâ mâ nahnü lehû ehlün inneke ğafûrun halîmun cevâdun kerîmun raûfun rahîm, lâ havle ve lâ kuvvete illâ billâhi'l-aliyyi'l-azîm. This prayer is the counterpart of the verse. Yes. It is the counterpart of this verse.
If only people had trusted Allah and His Messenger. That Allah and His Messenger, doing no injustice, are the ones who give what is right – this they would have believed. In the realm of this visible world, Allah, without discriminating among His servants, just as He lets His mercy reach everyone, whatever language, religion, race or school they may belong to – on earth, justice (?).
No one can wrong anyone, cannot. "I am a servant whom Allah loves; I act as I please" – no one can say that. Since nearness to Allah lies between a person and Allah, no one can know how in the end he will depart either. Toward everyone (?), among those created, He never does injustice nor lets it be done – Allah Almighty. Toward everyone (?), among those created, He never does injustice nor lets it be done. As for those who do injustice, sin is written against them, and on the day every soul gives account to Allah they are called to account for the injustices they did. So if these people, trusting Allah and His Messenger, had been content with what they were given and said: Allah will soon give us of His bounty, and the Messenger too; we turn only to Allah in hope – it would have been better for them.
Yes.
Allah Almighty, in the first sense of this verse, opens the doors of mercy upon the people living the life of this world from directions they do not know and so provides for them. Also, in another sense: every soul will taste death. According to that verse, Allah Almighty prepares those He loves for the hereafter in place of worldly life; His saying "Allah will soon give us of His bounty, and His Messenger too" means that if a person is content with his state in worldly life and pleased with Allah, in the hereafter Allah Almighty will reward this servant of His, and that they will attain the Messenger's intercession – this is what it declares.
Surely, saying "Allah will soon give us of His bounty, and His Messenger too", speaking like this, trusting Allah and relying on Him – rather than wrongfully taking worldly goods, this is better.
