Translation

(And from the hypocrites) there are some who say; “He (the Prophet who hears things that were said) is an ear!” and thus, hurt the Prophet. He is an ear of goodness for you because he believes in Allah, trusts in the mu’min and he is a mercy for the believers among you. For those who hurt Allah’s Messenger, there is surely a severe punishment.

Tafsir

The hypocrites, those who turned away from Allah and His Messenger, wanted to hurt and offend the Prophet (PBUH) by breaking his heart. (He is an ear that listens to everything that is said.) That is to say, he is a madman and a person who makes decisions from his own mind, who believes everyone's speech and does things accordingly, and they said words to humiliate the Messenger of Allah. Allah (swt) responds to them in this verse (Say: He is an ear of good for you. For he believes in Allah and trusts in the believers and he is a mercy for those of you who believe). Our Prophet (PBUH) is a mercy for the believers. Because he is the messenger of Allah (Allah does not intend cruelty to His servants.) In this respect, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was sent to mankind as a mercy (vema erselnake illa rahmetan lil alemin). He will intercede for the people who have believed and trusted in Allah by asking for mercy from Allah. In this respect, he is an ear of good for you. The Prophet (PBUH) informs people of the command of Allah. It also declares that those who are ruled by it will be granted the intercession of the Messenger of Allah.

He trusts the believers. Because a believer is a person who has made a good covenant with Allah (swt) in the eternal abyss (Kalubala) and has written his covenant as obedient to Allah (swt). They obey Allah and His Messenger because of their nature, and they believe closely in the Hereafter. Believers are people who gladly sacrifice their lives for Allah and His Messenger without hesitation.

It is also a mercy for Muslims and also for those who have not yet entered Islam. For it is a mercy for those who will hear the truth and be cleansed from falsehood and the darkness of shirk, and attain the mercy of Allah.

(For those who persecute the Messenger of Allah, there will surely be a painful punishment.) The Prophet is a Prophet sent by Allah to show people the path of guidance. Whoever persecutes the Messenger of Allah is a disbeliever who has not believed in Allah and the Hereafter. Then his place will be Hell. Allah (swt) is addressing such people, O people! Come to your senses, there is a Prophet among you who invites you to the truth, who wants to purify you from oppression and discord, who brings you out of darkness into light, who is very fond of you, who invites you to good, who shows you the paths to the eternal abode of bliss in the Hereafter. Whoever wrongs and persecutes such a Prophet is one who has preferred the life of this world to the Hereafter. For these there is a painful torment.

What is said in the video

We come to verse 61. Among those hypocrites, there are also those who say: the Prophet is an ear that listens to everything said, and so hurt the Prophet. The hypocrites say it. He is an ear that listens to everything said. Well, of course he will listen. Today the Prophet is commander, the commander of the state, at the same time its king, its president; the administration of a state is in his hands. This is the Prophet. Everyone has submitted to him. So, just as states have spies who, all over the world, learn what is going on against their own state, or learn the situation of other states and report it to their state, people too will of course report to the Prophet their situation.

To whom will they tell their troubles? They will tell the Prophet. Allah sends them as administrators over people. Allah Almighty sends His prophets so that everyone follows him. So of course the prophets will be an ear for everyone, for everyone. He will listen to everyone.

Say: he is an ear of good for you. Look how beautifully it says it. He is an ear of good for you. Yes. Because he believes in Allah, trusts the believers, and is a mercy for those of you who believe. For those who believe. What is his mercy? Those who listen to his word will have listened to Allah's command over people. Since people bound by Allah's command will find salvation and peace, the Prophet is a good for the believers. Yes, a mercy. For those who hurt Allah's Messenger there is surely a painful punishment.

For those who hurt Allah's Messengers there is surely a painful punishment, it says. Yes.

Scholars are the heirs of the prophets.

In line with this verse, our fathers, our forefathers, valued their hodjas greatly. But they were truly hodjas too. Hodja. People bound by the verses of Allah. That is, we will say: the common folk of that time. Know this well. The scholar of this time. Yes. In the past, the common folk of that time is the scholar of this time. And now think of this as a hodja. A hodja – you think about the rest. They held them in great esteem. They never did (?). But they too upheld what is right. They always upheld what is right. Yes, they showed people what is right. The hypocrites, those who turned their faces away from Allah and His Messenger, wanted to offend the Prophet by breaking his heart, by hurting him.

That is, what do they say? By saying the Prophet is an ear that listens to everything said, they hurt the Prophet. Those who, having hurt the Prophet, will be subjected to a painful punishment, a grievous punishment – and also to those who hurt the people who are the heirs of the Prophet – these are the scholars, the heirs of the Prophet – those who harm people who are subject to the verse that says your scholars' passing to the hereafter is like the sun going and darkness coming, those who harm these people too, have additional (?) of sin. Yes. Because – the heirs of the Prophet – if those who hurt the Prophet like this are subjected to a grievous punishment, then the enemies of religion, bound by superstitions, the verses' meanings – those who do not want to see and hear the truth, who deify their own selves and are in love with being at the top, who do not take their place beside the truth, who take a stand against the people who tell the truth – their situation is exactly as if they had hurt the Prophet.

Yes. May Allah protect us. That is why one must be very careful. Now our forefathers have a saying. It fits exactly here, in fact. They have a saying. Take everyone who comes to your door for Khidr. And take every day for the Night of Qadr, it says.

You never know whom you are talking to. Whose heart you are breaking is not known either. So then, being bound by acts of worship, reforming our nafs, wherever we see what is right, we are bound by it. If we are compassionate and merciful toward those who speak the truth, if toward those who speak the truth we win their hearts – you can never know whose heart you have won. And you will have attained Allah's mercy. But see, see what oppression there is from some against those who speak the truth.

And there are those who slander.

Though they know nothing, with hollow words, though they show no verse at all, slandering, wanting to blacken people – there are such utterly ignorant people, living in ignorance. Yes. So, toward our brothers in Islam, our attitude and behaviour – just as you love Khidr, peace be upon him, if you accept it as if he had come before you and spoken with you, and accordingly think well of him; if you take each of your days as the Night of Qadr, knowing that Allah's mercy is upon people for that day until the morning, until dawn, and just as you spend that day in worship, just as you want to win people's hearts, just as you want to stay away from evil, if you take those days, such days too, in this way, and reform your nafs, you will join the righteous servants of Allah.

So it means the hypocrites, those who turn their faces from Allah and His Messenger, want to offend the Prophet (peace be upon him), by breaking his heart, by hurting him. He is an ear that listens to everything said. That is, speaking in the sense that he is (?) and decides from his own mind, a person who believes everyone's talk and acts accordingly, they made remarks that would belittle Allah's Messenger. If they call the Messenger an ear, that means one who acts according to what people say – a person. They do not recognize him as a prophet. If they recognized him, they would not act as hypocrites anyway.

Yes.

So in this verse Allah Almighty says in reply to them: say, he is for you an ear of good. Yes, he listens to you, but in order to be a remedy for your troubles, with the verses of our Lord who Himself created the worlds, as an ear of good for you, he holds a light before you. He does not speak from his own mind. Here the verse "he does not speak idly" comes to light. In the verse, likewise: say, he is an ear of good for you. All the verses always confirm one another.

What was it? He is an ear of good for you. That is, he does not speak of himself. Not acting according to what people say, as you claim, but – the Owner of the worlds, besides whom there is no god, our Lord, holds a light before people with His verses – according to those verses he is an ear of good that holds a light before people. Yes. He does not speak idly. Nor does he speak from his own mind. Because he believes in Allah and trusts the believers. Because he believes in Allah. That is, with the very verses of Allah, among you, he defends you with justice toward one another. And without any of you being wronged, he shows you the verses of our Lord.

Because he believes in Allah, trusts the believers, and is a mercy for those of you who believe. For those who believe – not a mercy for those who do not believe. Why? Didn't he come as a mercy to the worlds? Fine, he came as a mercy to the worlds. But a mercy for the believers. Why? Because the believers do what the Messenger says. They are bound by the verses of Allah. Who has been bound by Allah's verse and then met with harm? Who has followed the Messenger's sunnah, been bound by his hadiths, and then met with harm? Yes, that is why he is a mercy to the believers. Because the believers believe in Allah and His Messenger.

To carry out the commands of Allah and the Messenger, with the verses that are obligatory, with the hadiths, the hadiths that are the words of the Prophet, he tries to be bound by them too. Because the hadiths are the counterpart of the verses. And so a person finds salvation. Yes.

That is how he became a mercy to the believer. As for the non-Muslim, he does not listen anyway; Allah Almighty, to those living outside Islam – because He knows those non-Muslims will not enter Islam, because their covenants, as their wish – He gave them their wishes as fate, you see – their fate, it says, is scattered and restless, it says. For this reason, according to this verse too, the non-Muslims, since they are not bound by the Messenger's and Allah's verses, since they are not bound by the Prophet's hadiths – Allah's mercy is not upon them. In the world he lives under His mercy, in the world, but they want to leave that mercy. For example, Allah, in the universe, His mercy upon everyone rains down.

Through the verses. Take this as an umbrella. An umbrella. Mercy is raining down. You are protected under that umbrella. Protected. When you step outside, disasters await you. But you yourself go out from under that umbrella toward those disasters. In that case, by your own will, you prove what kind of person you are. Of course, if you flee from that mercy, all kinds of calamities will await you. Yes. I took refuge from wild animals. I built a shelter.

I took refuge from wild animals. If you go out of that shelter, the surroundings are full of wild animals. They will snatch you. So Satan, the nafs, the allure of the world draw you away from Allah, and together with your own nafs, far from Allah's mercy you live. And then, when you are called to account in the presence of Allah Almighty, you will not find a single word to say to Allah Almighty. Yes. Because he is the messenger of Allah. Allah does not will injustice for His servants. For this reason, the Beloved of the Almighty, Muhammad (peace be upon him), He sent to people as "ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn".

Allah Almighty. For the people who believe in Allah and have faith, asking mercy from Allah, he will intercede for them. That is why it says: he is an ear of good for you. The Prophet (peace be upon him), Allah's command to people conveys. It also makes known that those bound by it will attain the intercession of the Messenger of Allah. He trusts the believers. Because the believer, in pre-eternity, at Qalu Bala,

is a person who gave Allah Almighty a good covenant and had his covenant written as obedience to Allah. Because of their nature they obey Allah and His Messenger. They believe in the hereafter with certainty. Believers, for Allah and His Messenger, gladly and without hesitation sacrifice their lives – such people they are. Beyond these, to Muslims and also to people who have not yet said yes to Islam he is a mercy too. Because, saying the truth and being cleansed of falsehood and the darkness of shirk, their attaining Allah's mercy is also a mercy.

For those who hurt Allah's Messenger there is surely a painful punishment. The Prophet (peace be upon him) is a prophet charged with a mission, sent by Allah to show people the paths of guidance. Whoever hurts Allah's Messenger is surely a person who has not believed in Allah and the hereafter, an unbeliever. Then his place is the fire of hell. So Allah Almighty addresses such people: O people! Come to your senses. Among you is a prophet who calls you to the truth, who wants to purify you of oppression and hypocrisy, who brings you out of darkness into light, who cares deeply for you, who calls you to good, who shows the paths to the eternal abode of bliss in the hereafter.

Whoever wrongs such a prophet, whoever hurts him, is a person who has preferred the life of this world to the hereafter. For these there is a painful punishment.
