The hypocrites are afraid that a chapter (from Qur’an) will be sent down to the mu’min that reveals to them that which they have in their hearts. Say; “Do your mockery! Allah will reveal the thing that you are scared of (being revealed).”
Tafsir
The hypocrites, because they do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, mock the Muslims, saying that they will inform the Muslims of the condition of those who do not believe in Allah and what is in people's hearts. The hypocrites used to mock the Muslims with their short views and thoughts, thinking that they do not know what goes on in people's hearts and what goes on in people's minds, and that they cannot comprehend what people will think, and that Allah will think like them, fitting Him into their own minds, and that He cannot know what goes on in people's hearts and minds. They want a society with such thoughts to convince themselves that there is no God who knows what is in people's hearts and minds. Despite the fact that their intellect is a witness and evidence that there is a God and that they themselves were created by this God, the nafs and their followers stubbornly assert that there is no God in order to satisfy the greatness and pride of their nafs by saying that there is no God for the sake of boasting and gaining benefits from each other.
That is Allah: He is aware of the state of all creatures, from the mote to the sphere, and He is sovereign over them and omnipotent. Allah is the One who manifests His existence to those who do not believe in Him through miracles and the manifestation of many events so that people can feel His presence and declare His existence in such a way that no rational person can say that Allah does not exist.
It is Allah, the Almighty, who has revealed the hypocrites to His Messenger both verbally with the verse (Allah will reveal what you are afraid of). And by creating events, by creating reasons, by witnessing the hypocrisy of these people themselves, Allah has declared that these people are hypocrites in the sight of Allah and among people.
Every soul that makes a covenant with Allah (in Kalubala) has the covenant it made there written down as its destiny. He cannot leave this world without living out this destiny through events in the worldly realm, without making himself a witness to Allah, to his surroundings and to himself.
He is the God who does not fit into the human mind, and no mind can comprehend Him. The meaning of comprehension here is that it is not possible for the human mind to know what Allah knows. Because Allah is the One who creates and gives life to His creatures by His Essence, who has a wisdom for everything He does, who brings good out of evil and evil out of good.
What is said in the video
We begin with verse 64 of Surah At-Tawbah.
The hypocrites are wary of a surah that would tell them what is in their hearts being sent down to the believers. Look at the hypocrite. Look at the beauty of this verse. And look how that hypocrite denies Allah. But because of his nafs. Look, what does it say? The hypocrites... a surah that would tell them what is in their hearts — so they do believe in Allah. They know that Allah will send such a verse. They know. He also knows that the Lord knows the secrets in their hearts. He also knows that the Lord knows. In that case, the verse we read again. The hypocrites are wary of a surah that would tell them what is in their hearts being sent down to the believers, it says.
So they believe in Allah. They also know that Allah Almighty looks at what passes through their hearts. But what kind of vain desire of the nafs is that? What kind of falling for Satan's temptation is that?
Although they are wary of Allah Almighty making known to the believers so much of what passes in their hearts, although they fear it, they still, on both sides, without showing their true colours, despicably play their game. He comes to the Muslim and says, I am a Muslim. He goes to the unbeliever and tells his unbeliever, I am (?) to them, I am (?), he says, and wherever he goes, like this (?), he falls into step. He never gives up anything of the arrogance of his nafs and does not submit to Allah. Yes, "Mock then; Allah will bring out what you are wary of," it says. Yes, your state of hypocrisy, what passes in your hearts that you are wary of, Allah will bring out.
Since the hypocrites do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, they mock the Muslims, jeering that the state of people who do not believe in Allah, what is in people's hearts, would supposedly be made known to the Muslims. They mock, and they do not believe, and they also fear: if Allah exists, will He tell them what is in our hearts? They fear, they are in fear. This is their short-sighted view and thinking: since the hypocrites do not know what will pass in people's hearts, and since people cannot grasp what people will think, they fitted Allah, too, into their own minds and, thinking that He thinks like them and cannot know what passes in people's hearts and minds, they used to mock the Muslims.
Yes, they used to fit Him into their own minds. Now, assumptions — most assumption drags a person into disaster. Most assumption. These are people living amid assumptions. Does Allah exist? If He exists and tells them what is in our hearts — and they do witness several events, many events too. Well, in that case, our thoughts against them, that is, our thoughts against the Muslims, what if Allah tells them, what will become of our family? In this fear they live. Plus, they themselves fit Allah into their own heads: How would He know what passes through our hearts? Can I know what passes through your heart?
No. So how would He know what passes in my heart? And the Muslims, towards Allah, are full of zeal and have submitted to Him.
That Allah knows what passes through their hearts — they themselves, by hinting it to people or by actually telling people,
say that they have submitted to Allah. They mock them. These Muslims. Can such a thing be, he says. He tries to fit events into his mind. Of course it can. Allah has every wish and desire of (?), his aim, all people's wishes and desires, their aims, as characters inscribed into people. He has written their aims for them as their destiny.
People play out this destiny over time with their wishes and desires. Allah Almighty's attribute of Godhood creates for them through causes. Every nafs plays out its aim in the direction of its own wish and desire. It fulfils, as an act, that destiny written for it. Then, whatever is in his destiny, whatever life there is, in this case he has made himself a witness to himself, to those around him and to Allah.
Their taking Allah lightly, fitting Him into their minds, since they don't know what passes in people's hearts, imagining Allah to be like that too, and mocking the Muslims in this way lays bare entirely the thoughts of the hypocrites, that is, their rebellious behaviour against Allah, and look what Allah Almighty says. Mock then. Allah will bring out what you are wary of, it says. Because it does not fit in your head, and because, He says, fitting Me too into your own minds, that I do not know what passes in people's hearts is what you believe, He says. Because you imagine it that way, He says, I will bring what passes through your hearts out into the open. Doesn't the verse say so?
There is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment of whom We do not know what it will do, it says. Yes.
A community with such thoughts wants to convince itself that such an Allah does not exist. That is, Allah does not know what passes in people's hearts. And these Muslims, well, have naively let themselves be carried away and are going who knows where, as it were.
Although their minds, that an Allah exists, that they themselves were created by this Allah, are a witness and proof upon themselves, the nafs and its followers, to boast in front of each other and for their gains from each other, by saying there is no Allah, to satisfy the arrogance and pride in their nafs, stubbornly argue that Allah does not exist, out of carnal feelings. Out of carnal feelings. As Darwin argued. Darwin proves the verse. What does Allah Almighty say in the verse? They are like the four-legged creatures that roam the earth. If Darwin says, I come from the ape, if he makes his ancestor an animal, he will have proven that verse.
They are like the four-legged ones among those in the earth. Yes.
If a person knew that Allah did not exist, he would never bother to talk about it, saying there is no Allah. So he knows that Allah exists; out of that pride and arrogance, out of his enmity towards Allah, he becomes a wretch who insistently tries to prove to people that Allah does not exist. Since he speaks falsehood with every word, Allah Almighty makes him disgraced and humiliated among people. Yes, Allah is He who, of all created beings from the atom to (?), is aware of their state and is their ruler and all-powerful over them. That Allah who, to those who do not believe in Allah, by making miracles and many events appear, makes His existence outwardly felt upon people, so that no one possessing reason can say there is no Allah — that is how Allah Almighty declares His existence.
No mind can say there is no Allah.
These people, these people, even if they don't believe in Allah and (?) there is no Allah, (?) in the world of souls they said (?) yes, it says. Allah exists. They said Allah exists, it says. Their saying, That Allah exists, we were created by a Lord — their realising, by their sudden coming into being, that they were created by a Lord. But because our Lord gave people of His spirit, even with a person resembling his Lord, with seeing his Lord in human form, by man not believing in that Lord and waiting for the Lord of his imagination, man increased his kufr against Allah Almighty. Out of that pride and arrogance, his haughtiness, he did not recognise Allah as Allah.
And that is why Allah Almighty created these worlds. Why did He create them? Because He is free of any deficient attribute: you saw Me here as like yourselves. I will send you to a hidden world where My essence is not seen. But there you will do the same thing again. I do not make My essence known to you; surely you will deny Me again, He says. And Allah Almighty, who is free of deficient attributes, creates these worlds for this. Yes.
So Allah is He who, of all His created beings from the atom to (?), is aware of their state and is their ruler and all-powerful over them. That Allah who, to those who do not believe in Allah, by making miracles and many events appear, makes His existence outwardly felt upon people, so that no one possessing reason could say there is no Allah — He declares His existence. Again, it is that Allah, who has power over all things — "Allah will bring out what you are wary of", with that verse. Allah Almighty both made the hypocrites known to His Beloved by word, and by creating events, through causes, these people themselves bearing witness to their own hypocrisy, thus, that before Allah and among people these people are hypocrites, Allah declares to everyone.
He has declared it. Yes.
Again, Allah is He who, just as He does not fit into the human mind, no mind can grasp Him. That is, what we mean here by "cannot grasp" is that it cannot encompass and comprehend Him. If it encompassed and comprehended Him, a being equal to Him would have come into being. It would know His knowledge as it is. That is, it would have attained the attribute of creating. Yes, what are we saying? Just as He does not fit into the human mind, no mind can grasp Him. By "cannot grasp" here, by grasping, the meaning is: what Allah knows, it is impossible for the human mind to know. Because Allah is the one who creates and gives life by His essence to what He creates; everything He does has a wisdom; He brings good out of evil and evil out of good, and He created the human mind as partial.
The partial, in this case, cannot encompass the universal.
