Their possessions and children should not impress you. This is because with these, their punishment on earth only increases and their lives come out with hardship because they are deniers.
Tafsir
O you who believe! Do not be envious of the wealth and possessions of the infidels; Allah has created them all. People who cannot see the created beings as a blessing given by Allah to human beings, who rely on their progeny, who despair of Allah, and who rely on their children and possessions only increase their disbelief.
These goods and possessions and children and children are a fitnah for such people. By this people increase their own disbelief and torment.
These disbelievers, who do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, die with difficulty. Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses, "When the angels take their lives, they strike their backs and faces and say, 'Did you believe that Allah and the Hereafter are true?
When they are shown the events unfolding before their eyes in the state of death and their place in the hereafter, you should see their resistance to give up their life and their cry of "Send me back again, see how I will worship you". But the opportunity is gone, the journey to a realm from which there is no return has begun.
Allah (swt) says to these people that if We send you back not once but several times, you will still commit the same deed. While they live in this world in this state, they buy the torment of Hell as a reward for their two hands, which they have earned with their own desires and wishes.
These people are like bankrupt merchants whose trade is unprofitable. Allah (swt) warns people who have their will in their hands by explaining the events that will happen with all clarity.
What is said in the video
Verse 85 is a wrongly explained verse in Surah At-Tawbah; let's see, first let us read the wrong one: their wealth... I am reading the wrong one first: their wealth... The verse is not wrong, mind you, Allah forbid; the explanation, the wrong explanation. Allah is made human-like; they explained it this way: let not their wealth and children impress you, for Allah only wants through them in this world to multiply their torment and for their souls to depart with difficulty as unbelievers, it says. Look,
this completely makes Allah Almighty human-like, and they ascribe feelings of grudge and hatred toward what people like us do to Allah Almighty. Allah forbid. Whereas the correct version of the verse is: let not their wealth and children impress you. For through them in this world only their torment increases; because they are unbelievers, their souls depart with difficulty. Because they are unbelievers. And a person, for the deed he himself did by his partial will, for carrying it out, is held accountable, it says. Like this, more than five hundred and some; here the five hundred and four that had been wrongly explained we have corrected.
There are many more. There are, but since they carry two meanings, we did not write them, so that people would not say what's wrong here. Actually the meaning is in the part that confirms those (?). Yes. Then, we are not addressing people, ordinary people, anyway. To them we explain. Those we address are people who pass themselves off as scholars.
Such as?
Their pressure on people, or people thirsting for religion and seeing them as leaders in religion, and these people explaining the verses wrongly to people — if only they knew what their own place in the sight of Allah is. To bring them to their senses, I speak to them insultingly. Insultingly. Now a verse comes to my mind, I will mention it. When the Messenger of Allah ascended in the Mi'raj, Gabriel comes to Sidrat al-Muntaha and says, if I went one ant's length further I would burn. Right? He cannot go further. When the Messenger of Allah was returning from the Mi'raj, (?) what covered the Sidra was covering it.
Now they write "Gabriel". Blessed man, in the earlier verse, when he said if I went one ant's length further I would burn, he could not cover that Sidra, so how did Gabriel cover the Sidra when he returned? He revealed to His servant what He revealed, it says. They say Gabriel. No — did Gabriel step outside time and space and reveal to the Prophet who is within time and space? As we know, the One outside time and space is Allah. And revelation, as we know, is His verses, which He told as the word of Allah to the Prophet's heart by way of communication. Wrong? Right? Right. Well then, which Gabriel did you make reveal?
They wrote it like this. And people have tied everything to Gabriel. They even say Gabriel taught the Prophet. All the worlds were created from the light of the Messenger of Allah, people, though, from his soul. In that case, if all the worlds were created from his light, would it ever fit Allah's manners, propriety, law, His order and harmony to have what He created from his light teach his soul?
Yes. Now, even when He created Adam, Adam, the angels say, will You create a human who will (?) blood on earth; you do not know what I know, He says. What do they not know? You too were created from his light, but you do not know from whom you were created, He says. Where? After Allah Almighty taught Adam the names of things, He says to the angels, tell the names of these things. We know nothing at all except what You have taught us, they say. What does this mean? The angels being genderless, being programmed like a robot; Allah Almighty, according to the duties He will give them and have them do, programming them.
And when He tells Adam to tell, he begins to list the names of things. In that case, if Adam is above the angels, Adam above the angels, if he is above them, then the mercy to the worlds — look, the worlds; within the worlds there are also the prophets of the angels. Who are they? Azrael, Gabriel, Israfil, Michael. The four great noble angels. These are there too. Because he came as a mercy to the worlds. How could one beneath him teach the one who came as a mercy to the worlds? Does your head not work at all? Have you no reason at all?
What kind of knowledge is this, and in what position do you see yourself that, in place of the verses, you tell people Gabriel did this, Gabriel did that? Yes, may Allah grant reason and understanding. So: let not their wealth and children impress you, for through them in this world only their torment increases; they (?) they went so far, it says, that at the graves too they began counting their dead, it says; yes, they forgot Allah, (?) (?). Because they are unbelievers, their souls depart with difficulty, it says. Because they are unbelievers. Since at the address "Elestü bi Rabbiküm", with a soul rebellious against Allah Almighty, they denied their Lord and gave their covenant so, our Lord, in whose hand are the keys of the unseen, according to His verse that says there is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment of whom We do not know what it will not do, knows how they go to the Hereafter too, and informs us that because they go to the Hereafter as unbelievers their souls will also depart with difficulty.
Yes.
O you who believe! Let not the wealth and family, that is the children, of the unbelievers impress you. Wealth and property, children and family — Allah created them all. Allah created them all. None of us created one another, Allah forbid; all of us were created by our Lord; those souls of ours, with which we were created, after being created in the realm of Lahut and making the covenant, were raised to the barzakh; when, according to each soul's wishes and desires, the time for it to come arrives, Allah Almighty takes the soul from there and sends it to the world. Sends it to the world.
Only Allah knows what is in the wombs.
The verse.
What does it say? We had these corrected too. We had been struggling with this for years.
They wrote: whether it is a girl or a boy in the mother's womb? Allah knows this. And today technology knows whether it's a girl or a boy.
When it says only Allah knows what is in the wombs: the soul He will take from that realm of barzakh, to which mother and father He will give it according to the time, with which parents' condition that soul would be tested with them more beautifully and they would prove themselves in the best way — because Allah knows this situation, He gives the soul He took from there to those parents. They are tested with each other in the best way. Yes. So, the one to be taken from that barzakh, is it female or male? Allah knows this. We (?) that. Yes.
In that case, since none of us created one another, the owner of us all is Allah.
People who do not see created beings as a grace Allah gave to people, who trust in their offspring, who lose hope in Allah — their trusting in their well-being and their wealth only increases their unbelief. Their unbelief.
This wealth and property, children and family, are a trial for such people. A trial. It's not me saying it, there is a verse too.
Your wealth and your children are a trial for you, it says. How a trial? Today you look at a man, he keeps his five daily prayers, his ablution. He has sent his son to university. To university. The child comes back. (?) has instilled his ideas in him. He instills that idea in his father too. And the father says, he's educated, what he says is right. He follows his child. I see such people. In that case, doesn't that become a trial for him?
He finds wealth, he finds money. He runs after women and girls, to adultery. He finds money, he crushes the weak. He finds money, he commits oppression. Isn't it a trial for him?
Yes. Your wealth and your children, your family, are (?) a trial. Yes.
With these, people increase their torments for their own unbelief. These unbelievers who do not believe in Allah and His Messenger, when they die too, their souls depart with difficulty. Again, in His verse, what does Allah Almighty say? When those charged with it take their souls, it says, they take them striking their faces and backs, it says. Even though we do not see it, when that unveiling opens to them, they understand the truth very well.
Allah Almighty, and in His verse: the angels, while taking their souls, striking their backs and faces, saying, did you believe that Allah and the Hereafter are true, ask them questions and take their souls in that way. When, in their state of dying, the events unfolding before their eyes and their place in the Hereafter are shown to them, their resisting so as not to give up their soul, and their cry, "send me back once more, see how I will worship You" — if only you could see it. Those people, with their death rattles, when they see that Hereafter and see its torment. Yes.
But the chance is gone. A journey to a realm from which there is no return has begun. What does Allah Almighty say? Even if We sent you back not once but several more times, you would do the same thing again. Hodja, would it be the same? I've seen this here now — would I really do it again? Why doesn't Allah give me such a chance? We say that, don't we, whatever comes to our minds. But my character traits are like that, my traits. Rebellious. Now, what I am saying here, he goes and records it. Wherever you make me speak, I will always speak the same. Down to the last period and comma. These too will close again when that realm closes.
Because character traits are like that. Since those traits will not change, if he came again, came several more times, even a thousand times, as long as that realm is closed to him, with those traits he would do the same thing. Well then, Hodja, is Allah unjust — if He changed their traits — if we say so, Allah says, I will create such a being that I will give him a part of Myself; with his desire and will he will direct himself, He says; with his own being, regarding My essence (?), he will make his own decision himself, He says. The honor He gave man, in the art of creation, is the peak; today no person, no technology can build a robot and tell that robot, program yourself; it cannot make it do that. So in the part Allah Almighty gave from His universal spirit, fame, renown, pride, arrogance, egoism, grandeur and worldly desire are present in man.
All of it is desire. With these, by his own will, through the decisions he makes, in the sight of Allah Almighty that person will have himself programmed.
In that case, Allah Almighty will of course separate those who know His essence from those who don't. So: a word has gone forth from Us. What? Paradise and hell. Those who know and those who don't. In that case, though Allah Almighty (?), when He said I am your Lord, those who rebelled against Allah, who by their own will denied the Lord.
Those who, with those wishes and desires, have those traits — if they came to the world not a thousand but a million more times, when that realm closes they would again do the same thing. In a verse He also says this. Our Lord, we have seen, forgive us, they say. But in that case, does Allah Almighty have no forgiveness and pardon, then? Won't He forgive, I mean? Why does He not forgive? As long as that rebellious character is in them, according to the verse "lying unbelievers", Allah Almighty proves that they are telling lies. These are liars, He says. Because in the verse He calls them lying unbelievers.
Yes.
How beautifully the verses all support each other like this. The questions that come to mind get nicely narrowed down too.
When, in their state of dying, the events unfolding before their eyes and their place in the Hereafter are shown to them, their resisting as they give up their soul, and their cry, "send me back once more, see how I will worship You" — if only you could see it. But the chance is gone. A journey to a realm from which there is no return has begun.
Allah Almighty says to these people: even if We sent you back not once but several more times, you would again do the same thing. Living in the world in this state, by their own wishes and desires, as the return for what their two hands earned, seeking hell, they buy that hellish torment. Allah Almighty wrongs no soul; We are not ones who wrong souls, He says; you wrong your own souls, He says. So that no one is wronged today, what you have earned, as the return of your two hands, will be given to you in full, He says. these people are like merchants whose trade has suffered (?); Allah Almighty, with all clarity, by telling the events that will happen, the people who hold partial will in their hands warns.
