Translation

Those who claim (to have excuses) from the Bedouins have come to be given permission. And those who lied to Allah and Allah’s Messenger have sat down. A severe punishment will reach those among them who became infidels.

Tafsir

The Bedouins mentioned in this verse are people living in the deserts of Arabia. Some of them lied and made excuses for not participating in the war. Allah and His Messenger are well aware of those among them who lie and make excuses. However, they were also permitted to sit in their seats like women.

Those who fear for their lives and property and do not take part in war, and who disbelieve, will have a painful torment in the Hereafter. Allah (swt) has given the command of jihad to the Muslims in order to preserve the integrity of their homeland, the safety of the nation, the protection of the religion of Islam and to prevent oppression. Jihad is obligatory on all Muslims except those who have excuses.

What is said in the video

Of the Bedouins, those who claimed to have excuses — verse 90. Those of the Bedouins who claimed to have excuses came so that they might be given permission. Those who lied to Allah and His Messenger — those hypocrites who appeared as Muslims but did not go to war during the war, did not want to go — these, those who lied to Allah and His Messenger, sat and stayed behind. With whom? With those who sat. Who are these who sat? With the women; they stayed stuck where they sat. Those of them who disbelieve will be struck by a painful punishment. Those who disbelieve. So some of those who (?) express their remorse.

When they ask their Lord for pardon and forgiveness — about some of the Bedouins it says: soon there will be a situation. If they persist in that state, they will be granted Allah Almighty's pardon, it says. And in this way, by carrying out Allah's command, there were also Bedouins who were granted Allah's pardon and forgiveness. The Bedouins mentioned in this verse are people living in the deserts of Arabia. Some of them, in order not to take part in the war, lied and made up excuses. Their doings — those who lied and made up excuses — Allah Almighty and His Messenger know very well. But since they too were given permission, they became among those who sit in their places like women. So for those who, fearing for their lives and property, did not take part in the war, for those who disbelieve, there is a painful torment in the Hereafter.

Painful. (?) In this world, if a splinter pricks our hand, its pain hurts us. We want to be rid of it at once. The pain and torment of the Hereafter, of the endless life, does not end.

A person cannot be such an enemy to himself.

Our forefathers say so too.

What a person does to himself, the two worlds together could not do. Why could the two worlds together not do it? At the very most, they kill a man. With torture — with a few hours of temporary torture, with a few days of torture, life is gone. If one day of the Hereafter is a thousand years here, if here one dies and goes after a few days of torture, we will return within a few hours too — within a few seconds by the measure of the Hereafter. How will a person endure the torment there? And what mind would go against Allah's commands and take on that torment?

I cannot conceive of such a mind. The mind.

Allah Almighty gave the mind as that which knows His Essence.

So if the mind is a friend given to people by Allah,

then because of the spirit's rebellion against Allah, out of hatred and pride, arrogance, grandeur, fame and renown, their ego, they abandon that abode of bliss and, to satisfy their nafs, consent to that punishment — such people. May Allah reform them.

They are human in appearance, but in character they are even lower than animals. Allah Almighty decrees so. They are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth, He says. Even more astray in their course, He says. Yes.

So for those who, fearing for their lives and property, did not take part in the war, for those who disbelieve, there is a painful punishment in the Hereafter. Allah Almighty's giving Muslims the command of jihad is for the integrity of the Muslims' homelands, the safety of the nation, the protection of the religion of Islam, and preventing oppression. Except for those with excuses, jihad has been made obligatory for the other Muslims. Who are those with excuses? The sick, the weak, the old, those who cannot go to war, the blind, the lame. These are the people with excuses. But there are many of those lame people who burned with longing for that jihad and went to war. (?) Yes.
