Say; “If I would rebel against my Lord, I would fear the punishment of a truly grand day (the Day of Judgment).”
Tafsir
Say to the people, O Messenger of Allah, if I rebel against Allah like those who disbelieve in Allah, I fear the punishment of the Day of Judgment, a great Day which is real and cannot be avoided. Did Allah, Who created human beings, create them to be rebellious against Him by feeding them in this world in their own desires? Who feeds someone for a lifetime and expects nothing from them? These expectations of people may not necessarily be material. But there is no human being who does not expect something in return. Allah (swt) does not expect to be served in return for giving people a lifetime of health and well-being, food and drink. Because He does not need service. Shouldn't we, as human beings, do acts of worship and worship as a thank you to Allah (swt)?
And whoever turns away from Allah in return for these blessings that Allah has bestowed upon him, and associates partners with Him, Allah will remove His mercy from him on the Day of Judgment, which cannot be avoided, and he will have neither an intercessor nor a helper. The person who knows Allah fears His punishment on the Day of Reckoning. While in this world, he performs his work with the thought of the day when he will be accountable to Allah (swt). The person who keeps his work within these thoughts will also attain salvation.
What is said in the video
First, the word of the verse. If I rebel against my Lord, I truly fear the punishment of a great day, of the Day of Judgement. Allah protect us. I always try to tell you this with my feelings. This world is passing.
In this world, between (?), one day it will end. One day this world will end. And your suffering will come to an end too. So if, instead of the eternal abode of bliss, we take on the eternal abode of punishment, the suffering there will never end. And it is not like the suffering here. The suffering there is not like the suffering here. Here, when you cannot hold your hand to a (?), cannot bear its pain, how will you (?) that fire of Hell? Each of them, it says, like yellow sparks, it says, like yellow camels — into a fire throwing sparks they are thrown. When they are presented to that fire, grinning, it says, like people their lips will part, their teeth will show, they will be like grinning people. They will grin.
Is this pain something to be endured?
How can you turn a deaf ear to this, and these pains how can you ignore, draw a curtain over your eyes, and on Allah's command turn your back? Or, even if you do not turn away, although your mind tells you don't do it, don't do this, as a captive of your nafs you do what Allah said not to do. Yes. So you will use your will. You will use your mind. You will carry out what Allah says. Not what your nafs says. Say: If I rebel against my Lord, the punishment of a great day, that Day of Judgement, I truly fear. My Beloved, say again to people: if, like those who deny Allah, I rebel against Allah, the punishment of a great day that is real and cannot be escaped, that Day of Judgement, I fear.
According to the verse, who is truer to his word than Allah, the Hour will surely come. Surely.
As we explained in the previous verse too, that day no one doubts — what does it say? On that Day of Judgement everyone will be gathered. From the punishment of that undoubted day, that Day of Judgement, from the severity of that Day, sir, from the punishment of that Hell — in that gathering place, when gathered, alas will be of no use. There is no coming back again. That is, no return to this world either. So use the treasure of life well.
Within this treasure of life, try to be bound by Allah's commands, so that just as you increase your earnings in this world, by increasing your good deeds in the Hereafter too you may attain beautiful abodes.
Yes. Did Allah, who created people, create them so that, in their own vain desires in this world, being fed and given drink, they would rebel against Him? Yes, what person feeds someone all his life and expects nothing from him? You will feed a person all his life. People's expectations may not necessarily be material. But a person who does not expect a thank-you in return, who does not expect a thank-you — there is no such person. Today you might say something like this to me against my words.
There are many paralysed people; many mothers and fathers care for these paralysed people like their own lives, they love them so much, although they hope for nothing from them. So what do you say to this, Hodja, if you ask? They are still expecting something. Do you know what they expect? They expect their Lord's mercy. Their Lord's mercy. Yes.
Allah Almighty, in return for giving people health and well-being all their lives, feeding them and giving them drink, being served in return He does not want. Because of service, of being served, He has no need. So as humans, should we not, as a thank-you, be servants to Allah Almighty, in obedience and worship? Yes. He feeds us, gives us drink. He gives us health and well-being. From all kinds of evils, from those events outside our destiny, He protects us. And how can we be ungrateful to Him, how can we not give thanks, and how can we not stand, bow and prostrate before Him? Well, if we don't do this, will we not be ashamed before Him?
Will we not be ashamed before Allah? Yes.
Whoever, in return for these blessings Allah has given, turns away from Allah and associates partners with Him — on that inescapable Day of Judgement, if Allah Almighty withdraws His mercy from that person, he will have neither an intercessor nor a helper. A person who knows Allah fears the punishment of this day of reckoning; while in this world, he does his work thinking of the day he will give account to Allah Almighty. A person who keeps to his work with these thoughts is one who attains salvation. May Allah Almighty join us all to those who attain salvation. With good understanding, among the people He makes servants to Allah and community of His Beloved may He join us.
