Translation

When they hear that which has been sent down to the Messenger, you will see that tears flow from their eyes due to the truth they encounter. They say “our Lord! We have believed, write us with those who are witnesses (to truth).

Tafsir

When those of the People of the Book hear the verses of the Holy Qur'an that Allah (swt) sent down to the Prophet (s.a.w.), whom He sent as a Prophet (s.a.w.), and see that they are the same as the verses of the Holy Qur'an that were sent down to the Prophet (s.a.w.) and that which is written in their own Books, you will see tears welling up in their eyes out of love for Allah. These are the people who believed in Allah, the Prophets, the Hereafter, the Books, the angels and the resurrection after death, and who pledged allegiance to the Messenger and took their place on the side of Allah.

People whose eyes well up with tears for the love of Allah. When they return to Allah, they pray: "O our Lord, we have believed, enroll us with those who bear witness to the truth. If we pay attention to this verse, it is very meaningful to say, "O our Lord, write us down with those who are witnesses to the truth". The meaning here is that Allah (swt) has manifested Himself to people who are His friends and who have attained the state of mutmain, and they are meant to be witnesses to the existence of Allah (swt). Knowing this, these lovers of Allah (swt) with tears in their eyes pray to Allah (swt), "O Allah, make us a part of the people who have been blessed with Your Essence.

What is said in the video

No. Verse 83 of Surah Al-Ma'idah: When they hear what was sent down to the Messenger, because of the truth they recognized, you see tears pouring from their eyes, it says.

Recognizing here does not mean recognizing from relatives, mother, father, kith and kin.

When they saw that what is written in the Torah and the Psalms, what is written in the Gospel, is in the Holy Quran — this is the verses supporting one another. Our Lord calls this 'because they recognized'. When they hear what was sent down, because of the truth they recognized. And when the verses of the Holy Quran, which the Messenger brought, which Allah Almighty sent as a mercy to the worlds, are the same as the other verses, when they coincide, when they are the same, those people's eyes pouring with tears out of love for Allah — you see, it says. Write us down with those who bear witness to the truth, they say.

These people. Yes.

Those of the People of the Book — the Prophet whom Allah Almighty sent as the Seal of the Prophets (peace be upon him) — the verses of the Holy Quran He sent down to him, when they hear them — because of the truth they recognized, that is, seeing that what is written in their own books and the verses of the Holy Quran sent down to the Prophet (peace be upon him) are the same, out of love for Allah you see tears pouring from their eyes. Who are they? Those who yearn for Allah, who in the first (?) affirmed their covenant to Allah that there is no Lord other than their Lord, who affirm that there is no god but Allah — people — 'on earth, without proving what kind of person you are, you will die, do you think?' — according to that verse, in the light of the verses, when they see that the book sent to them coincides with the Holy Quran in the same verses — that is because they recognized, it says, tears flow from their eyes.

Why do tears flow? Because they were waiting for a prophet. That prophet appeared and confirmed that the Holy Quran is the word of Allah. In this situation, these people believed both in the prophethood of the Beloved of the Almighty, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and also believed that the Holy Quran is the word of Allah. Such people are people who believe in the Hereafter, in resurrection after death, in the angels, the books and the prophets.

These people have believed in Allah, the prophets, the Hereafter, the books and the angels, in resurrection after death — people who pledged allegiance to the Messenger and took their place in Allah's ranks.

Like this, if we think a little,

a person must grasp that he was created, how he was created, what he is — one must realize it. One must think.

With the Prophet's (peace be upon him) coming into the world, when the station of prophethood was given to him — those who saw that the Holy Quran that was sent and the books in their hands were the same, out of their love and affection for the truth, shed tears from their eyes, whereas Allah Almighty — that there is no religion other than Islam, that those honored with Islam are witnesses over the other communities — although He declares this, people have neither with the Quran, nor with Allah and His Messenger any harmony.

A bare, dry declaration of faith.

There is no (?). I don't mean all of them.

But in today's life, if we take this as a hundred, of the people who say I am Muslim seventy percent know nothing of prayer and supplication.

Again seventy percent of Muslims, or eighty, are people who have taken on these superstitions.

Again these people, although they perform prayer and supplication, that is, although they take ablution and pray, have believed in superstitions, believed in fortune-telling, envied the life of the unbeliever, and have become people living outside Islam, with desires outside Islam. The state of Muslims today is like this too, not sixty-something percent. One (?), people who say I am Muslim and read the book in their hands are very few; a (?), people who say I am Muslim and to Allah give their heart are also very few. That is why — with the books in their hands and the verses of the Holy Quran being the same — when their own verses and the verses of the Holy Quran that Allah sent through the Seal of the Prophets, the Prophet (peace be upon him), are the same, tears flow from these people's eyes, so why, I wonder, do tears not flow from the eyes of those who read this Quran in our time?

Why, I wonder, do people who say I am Muslim in our time not become honored with their religion? They do not practice it and try to live far from it. Yes, a person should compare himself.

A person who has no ability to compare knows neither his past nor his future. He becomes a follow-the-crowd mind. Follow-the-crowd. A person should make comparisons.

Yes.

People whose eyes pour with tears out of love for Allah, when they turn back to Allah, pray: O our Lord, we have believed. Write us down with those who bear witness to the truth, they say. If we pay attention to this verse, saying 'O our Lord, write us down with those who bear witness to the truth' is very meaningful. There are many meanings here. Meant here are those who are the friends of Allah Almighty Himself and have attained the station of tranquility — people to whom He manifested, who have witnessed Allah's existence — they are meant.

So they have come to know the manifestations. These are these (?) lovers. Yes. Just as they see you and me with these outward eyes, they have believed in their Lord's existence, have seen their Lord in the realm of meaning and contemplate their Lord within the attributes manifested in their heart. These are people at the station of tranquility. O soul at peace, your Lord pleased with you and you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, into My Paradise, it says.

For a soul to be at peace it must see its Creator. If it cannot see its Creator, that soul is not at peace. It has not risen to the soul at peace. There is no turning back for the soul at peace. That is, it does not fall into kufr. Yes.

These lovers of Allah, whose eyes flow with tears, knowing this, to Allah Almighty: 'Join us among the people honored with Your Being, O Allah' — they make this prayer. In prayer.

And what do the disciples say to Jesus? We are your — Allah's helpers, they say.

Well, when those hostile to Allah and His prophet set out to kill them too, the disciples scatter to the four corners of the world.

Forty disciples — forty write a Gospel as much as they remember. And the forty Gospels do not agree with each other.

And one of them, one of the disciples, in Göreme, at the place they call the Apple Church and the Dark Church, writing the Gospel, well, our Lord's verses to people in their time — they too are on the nature of Islam — people who tried to convey them. Allah's helpers on earth.
