And those who are disbelievers and deny our verses, they are the dwellers of hell.
Tafsir
If they are confronted with so many truths, see so many miracles, and still disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger out of their stubbornness, these are the people who pity their souls. Allah will subject them to hell and fire or torment that will remain in them for eternity.
Allah does not love those who disbelieve in Him, those who take their nafs as a deity and follow it, those who follow the footsteps of Satan, those who worship idols, those who shape Allah's creation with their hands, those who worship idols as gods, those who commit unlawful deeds, those who eat interest, those who follow the tagut and those who do evil deeds.
They are unprofitable merchants. To these, Allah (swt) says: "If you do not see the truth and return to My Face in the blessings I have given you in the life of this world, at the moment of death, when the doors of repentance are closed, when you see the realms of truth, the repentance you will do will not benefit you, and you will wish that we return to the realm of property so that we can worship Allah. According to the verse, "If We send you back to the realm of property not once but several times, you will still do the same deed," there is no return for people. These are the perpetual inmates of hell.

Verse 86 of Surah Al-Ma'idah: As for those who disbelieve and deny Our verses, they are the people of Hell, the people of Hell.
So many truths they come face to face with, so many miracles they see, and still, out of stubbornness, Allah and His Messenger if they deny — then these are people who wrong their own selves. Allah will leave these too — in Hell, where they will abide forever, to the fire or to torment — subject to it. Allah Almighty has laid out many miracles before people. And until the Day of Judgment, the verses, for people, with the technology found across the ages, as the miracles of the verses emerge, for us until the Day of Judgment are proving the truth and His existence. That much. Outwardly — and since no being other than the owner of these outward worlds, the one God, our Lord — not made by human hand — these beings can create, make, order, turn around one another's axis, or sustain the unity and togetherness of this universe, since there is no chance in such an event, does a person use his reason and not bear witness to his Lord's existence?
So these traits that the nafs and pride, arrogance, grandeur, ego, fame and renown have given a person lead a person to rebellion against Allah. So Allah Almighty, with His verse: those lying unbelievers, the proud and arrogant, are those whose hearts are restless and scattered, He says. Out of their pride and arrogance they denied Me, He says. Out of their pride and arrogance. Where do pride and arrogance come from? Because Allah Almighty gave man a part of His spirit — from His spirit He creates him as a likeness of His Being.
Not using their reason — despite the Lord before them saying 'I created you', despite the Prophet (peace be upon him) also being beside Him as a confirmer — despite that, these people who see Him, who see their Lord as like themselves, out of pride and arrogance did not believe in Him. They waited for the Lord of their imaginations. The Lord of their imaginations. How do you know, Hodja? There's the verse 'They will not see their Lord', you know. They couldn't properly open it up with the verses. Some, about this verse, (?) that Allah Almighty is seen in Paradise. Some say the unbelievers will be resurrected blind.
Yet it is neither this nor that. That there is no god but Allah, Allah Almighty supports. They will not see their Lord. So, in this situation, within these assumptions of theirs, lest they say — Allah Almighty, otherwise these, when He throws them straight into Hell, before even coming to the world: how would I know that You are my Lord? Did You send me to a (?) world? Did You send me to a world where Your Being is not seen? Had You made Your Being known to me there, would I not have known You? Here I cannot recognize You. I cannot know. So Allah Almighty, who is (?) in deficient attributes, solely for this (?) created these worlds and brought us and put us into this world where His Being is not seen.
Now — step up if you dare. His Being is not seen. So He says: there is no god except one single God. If there had been, one would take what it created and the other, it says, what it created would take, and everything would drown in corruption, it says. Since no such god has come forth, since those who came forth tasted death and passed on to the Hereafter, since many peoples, too, went outside Allah's command and were destroyed, since, before so many miracles, that there is no god but Allah, that the prophets sent and the books are true, and all the books are gathered in the Holy Quran — serving what kind of reason does a person set out to deny Allah?
Or he is with the nafs of his nafs and never comes near Allah's verses.
Now I have a question for such people. Does reason ever come to their minds? Yes. These are intelligent people. So then, those who became Muslim, (?) and the minds of the believers too, that means, have drawn near to them out of weakness of faith. If faith is not weak, one does not envy the non-Muslim. Whoever envies them is like them, it says. Yes.
So, as for those who disbelieve and deny Our verses, they are the people of Hell. If they come face to face with so many truths, see so many miracles, and still out of stubbornness deny Allah and His Messenger, then these people are people who wrong their own selves. Allah will leave these too — in Hell, where they will abide forever, to the fire or torment — subject to it. Allah Almighty — those who deny His Being, who take their nafs as a god and run after it, who follow Satan's trail, who, shaping with their hands what Allah created, worship idols as gods, associating partners with Allah, who do forbidden things and consume interest, who go after taghut and who do evil — does not love.
Their trade is in the state of a merchant whose business has slumped. So these — Allah Almighty: within the blessings I gave you in worldly life if you do not see the truth and return to My Being — at the moment of death, when the doors of repentance are closed, at such a time. When? The soul — by one report, until it reaches this hip bone; by another, until it reaches this 'rooster' bone — the door of repentance is open. Then the door of repentance closes. Why does it close? Because Allah Almighty shows him the Hereafter. He sees the place he has come to. Then his repentance is no longer accepted.
Because even if he did it, he would do it falsely. Because their characters will not change.
What does it say? İzâ belegati'l-hulkûm. When the soul reaches the throat, and entum hîne izin tenzurûn. Come on, turn it back, it says. Ve nahnu akrabu. All the other relatives, at his head, have gathered around him. They wait for his soul to leave, it says. Yes. In Surah Al-Waqi'ah. What does it say?
Al-Waqi'ah Surah, 84th verse: ve entum hîne izin tenzurûn — 84. And at that time you are looking on, it says. Yet turn it back, it says. At that moment We are closer to him than you, but you do not see, it says. You do not see.
Since you will supposedly not be punished, turn it back — that is, the soul — if you are truthful in your claim, it says. Since you won't be punished, come on, turn it back, it says.
But if the dying person is one of those close to Allah, for him there is rest, good provision and the Garden of Bliss, it says.
So we did not come to this world like animals to eat, drink, have intercourse, enjoy pleasure and live — we did not come for that. Well, what did we come for? Allah Almighty was a hidden treasure; He willed to be known. He would create a being; that being, without being programmed by anyone, not even by our Lord, would by its own wish and will program its own life, have it programmed. So each person's wish and will, his desire, became his destiny; the characters within those destinies were placed into persons. When he comes to worldly life, within those characters a person, within his characters, a person feels wish and desire.
And Allah Almighty constantly, in the universe, according to these people's wishes and desires creates events, and persons, to fulfill these wishes and desires, receive reward and sin through actual deeds. In this case, persons are those who turn out witnesses of themselves to themselves, to those around and to Allah. Yes.
Their trade is in the state of a merchant whose business has slumped. So these — Allah Almighty: within the blessings I gave you in worldly life He gives what is due. If you do not return to My Being, at the moment of death, when the doors of repentance are closed, at a time when you see the worlds of reality — not only will the repentance you make not benefit you, but you will wish: let us return again to the (?) realm and perform acts of worship to Allah. If only they had been of that character. If only. Why? If only they had been of those characters. A verse for you. While in the world, it says, if only they had known Me.
If only. If only they had known Allah. Even if We sent you not once but several more times to the (?) world, you would again do the same deeds — according to that verse, there is also no return for people again. So these are permanently people of Hell. Why? They do the same deeds; the characters are the same, the wishes and desires the same, the will the same. As long as Allah Almighty does not load anything onto them, that is, unless, removing their will and with His own will, He makes a load, a program upload onto him — which He does not — this person resembles a tape. If throughout his life you had filmed on a tape what a person did, recording it on video, not a thousand but a million times more, rewinding it this way and that, on the television or in the tape player, you would see the same movements.
Yes. In this case, since people's characters will not change, and since Allah Almighty will not interfere with people's partial free will, in this situation, when the journey is made to a realm with no return — on the Day of Judgment, with Israfil's blowing of the trumpet, with the verse in which He says there is no sidestepping it, everyone will be gathered at the place of assembly. Without Allah Almighty causing anyone pain or trouble, He will give each the return of what they earned — duly. Duly. So those who oppose Allah's verses, those who, what Allah Almighty said not to do, do it, those who rebel against Allah — tomorrow at the Resurrection they are alone and forsaken there, it says.
Alone and forsaken. Because even if it is his father — even the father of a person who is of the people of Hell, since he is not of his lineage — the people Allah Almighty cut off His mercy from — that person, even if he has attained His mercy and is at the station of intercession, even if he is his father, will turn his back on him and go. So there he is forsaken and alone. Because the people whom Allah has cut off from His mercy — no one will stand up for them.
