Translation

“You and your forefathers?”

Tafsir

Allah, the Lord of the worlds, is also the Lord of you and your ancestors of old. Allah is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them. He is the Lord of the worlds who also created what you shape with your hands and worship as gods. So worshipping empty things is an injustice to one's own soul. O my people! These are the objects that will bear witness against you on the Day of Judgment. If you follow them, you will perish.

What is said in the video

In Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 76, now,

"Of you and your forefathers of old," it says, that is, Allah, who is the Lord of the worlds, is also the Lord of you and your forefathers of old. Yours, those to come, those of old, the worlds, the living and the lifeless, the seen and the unseen, the seven heavens — this universe surrounded by the Throne was created by Allah Almighty. Yes. Allah, who created all these beings, is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of what is between the two, between the two. Your hands too, and what you shape, and when you worship as God, your (?) too — it is Allah who created them. It is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

So worshipping empty things is a person's wronging of his own nafs.

O my people! He calls out to his people. O my people! These are objects that will bear witness against you on the Day of Resurrection. Against you. If you follow them, you will perish, he said. On the Day of Resurrection Allah Almighty will call their, their objects of worship forward. "Come," He will say. He will grant them speech. "Was it you who said, 'I am their god, their god, your god'? Was it you who said it?"

"God forbid. You too know that we were unaware of ourselves. We do not even know that they worshipped us," they said. And they move away from there, go off, vanish.
