“Know that I am their enemy. Only the Lord of the worlds (is my Friend).”
Tafsir
O my people! Know well that if you worship objects that can neither benefit you nor harm you, you will be enemies to your own souls on the Day of Reckoning when the Day of Resurrection breaks.
Idols do neither benefit nor harm people. These objects are also created by Allah and are the creations of Allah. But by shaping them, by likening them to your imaginary Lords, by standing in front of them and worshipping them, people will be holding them as witnesses against their own souls, against their own souls.
In this respect, people are enemies to their own souls.
However, my guardian is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. For all property and all this world belongs to Allah. Therefore, if you make friends other than Allah, you will be enemies to your own souls with these friends you have made. You have made those whom you worship as witnesses against your own souls and against Allah.
What is said in the video
Of Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 77 is a verse that was translated wrongly; we have corrected these here. Look what it says now here: Verse 77: Know well that they are my enemies. Who are these "they" he means? That is, the idols. The idols are my enemies. Idols, the idols are my enemy. Is there life in idols, is there a soul? They translated the verse wrongly. What does it say? Know well that they are my enemies.
They, that is the idols, are my enemy. Is there life or a soul in them? But the Lord of the worlds is my friend.
The right one: Know well that I am their enemy. That is, I am the enemy of those idols. They are not my enemy. There is neither life nor a soul in them. This way leads people to idolization, leads minds astray. If they are my enemies, who will my enemy be? Isn't Satan my enemy? Is there no life in Satan? He has a soul, he has life. Until the Day of Judgment, let me say this first, he has been given permission by Allah Almighty to live, the accursed creature. Now in this case, when he says "they are my enemies", it is as if there were a living soul in the idols and they were the enemy of Abraham. Yet what does Abraham say? Know well that I am their enemy.
Why? Because there is no god other than Allah, that you should go to idols, let me say, and worship them. Well, I will smash them, he is saying. I am their enemy. But the Lord of the worlds is my friend, he says. Yes.
O my people, know well that things that can give them neither benefit nor harm are what you worship. When the Hour comes, on that Day of Reckoning, you will turn out to have been hostile to your own selves. For people, idols bring neither any benefit nor any harm. These objects, too, are created by Allah; they are Allah's creations. But these, being shaped and made to resemble the Lords in your imaginations, when you stand before them in your worship, people, against their own selves, against their own selves, make these witnesses against themselves. Yes.
In this respect, people commit enmity against their own selves. Yet my guardian is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. When he says "the worlds", as I said in the description earlier, the heavens and the earth. These two and what is between them, living and non-living, everything seen by the eye and unseen, the seven layers of the heavens surrounded by (?), who makes all these creations remember Him and who signifies that there is no god besides Him: the One, Allah. The Owner of the worlds. Yes. He is my guardian; I have put my trust in Him. I rejoiced in Him. We have no other door to go to besides Him.
Abraham, the Khalil, says it like that too. What does he say? Yet my guardian is Allah, the Lord of the worlds. How beautifully he says it. Because all dominion and this whole creation belong to Allah. Therefore, if you take friends besides Allah, with these friends you have taken you become enemies of your own selves. In these things you worship, you will have made witnesses against your own selves and against Allah.
