Translation

Say (to them); “Oh People of the book! Do you detest us only because we believe in Allah, in what was sent down to us and in what was sent down before us? And most you have gone astray.”

Tafsir

Those who have been blessed with the light of Islam, who have obeyed Allah and His Messenger, who believe in what Allah has sent down and in the Books and Prophets He has sent down before, people who rebel against Allah do not like people who obey Allah well.

People who are not acquainted with the light of Islam love to live by their nafs. Since the ways and amusements shown by Satan are pleasing to their nafs, they do what their nafs likes. They cannot get rid of filth, inferiority, mistakes and crimes. Islam, on the other hand, is the opposite of this: people who fear Allah, who refrain from committing crimes, and who are of sound character. It is because those who are non-Muslims are afraid of living the filth they desire and the desires of Satan and their nafs in the presence of people who live Islam, and because they feel guilty, that they feel hatred and hatred towards people who have embraced Islam.

It is not possible for non-Muslims to unite with Muslims and be friends with them with these feelings they have experienced. They are misguided transgressors because they have abandoned the straight path of Allah and have turned to evil ways. According to the verse in which Allah (swt) says, "They are like the four-legged creatures that roam the earth", they eat, drink, have sexual intercourse and have fun. They are selfish and greedy people who have forgotten the purpose of their creation as human beings and do not recognize Allah, the Book or the Prophet. Of course, these people are the ones who will be eternal wrongdoers in the Hereafter, deprived of Allah's mercy and deprived of Allah's mercy in the Hereafter, because they are on a bad path.

What is said in the video

Verse 59 of Surah Al-Ma'idah: say to them, it says, this time addressing the Prophet: O People of the Book, is it only because we believe in Allah, in what was sent down to us and what was sent down before, that you dislike us? Yet most of you are fasiqs who have gone astray. By having the Prophet say this, Allah Almighty is really saying it to us. Because His verses are valid until the Day of Judgement — the verses are valid until the Day of Judgement. So if He says it to us this way — to us — if He has the Prophet say it, He is saying it to us. What did He say? Say to them: O People of the Book — that is, since Allah Almighty sent you a Book — People of the Book, the Book our Lord sent.

Well, those bound by it — only in Allah, the One Allah, only in Allah, in Him besides whom there is no god, in what was sent down to us, that is, the Quran, and what was sent down before, the books in your hands — is it because we believe in these that you dislike us? Oh, how beautifully Allah Almighty says it.

Yet most of you are fasiqs who have gone astray. Fasiq. That is, those whose words do not agree with one another and who drown everything in corruption and stir things up — fasiqs. Now what does Allah Almighty say in one of His verses? When a fasiq brings you news, He says. What does He say? When a fasiq brings you news, until you learn whether it is true, until you learn whether it is true, do not attack that people, He says. Then you will regret it. So if He calls the one bringing that word, even if it is true, fasiqs, if He calls them talebearers, those who drown everything in corruption, then, He says, most of you are fasiqs who have gone astray.

That is, among you, apart from those who accepted Islam, most of you are all fasiqs. You are those who drown everything in corruption.

Yes, those honoured with the light of Islam, who obeyed Allah and His Messenger, who believe in what Allah sent down and in the books and prophets He sent before — people who rebel against Allah dislike people who obey Allah well. Because the life of Islam weighs heavy on their nafs. So they lie to spread corruption, and to stir things up they slander. People not honoured with the light of Islam...

People not honoured with the light of Islam love to live by their nafs. Since the paths and amusements Satan shows please their nafs, they do what their nafs likes. From filth, from baseness, from faults and crimes they cannot get free. Islam, in exact contrast, is Allah-fearing, crime-avoiding people of firm character — such people. So non-Muslims, beside such people living Islam, the filth they desire, the whims of Satan and their nafs, since they hesitate to live them as they please, from the sweetness of the feeling of guilt — those who feel grudge and hatred toward people honoured with Islam?

These people.

May Allah always grant us — toward what is right — our feet on a straight path, our ears hearing straight words, hearing good words free of kufr, and our eyes, outside what our Lord has forbidden, seeing the beautiful things He has made permissible for us. With these feelings non-Muslims taste, their uniting with Muslims and being friends with them is impossible. Yes, with those feelings, Muslims being friends with them is impossible. So, He says, do not be friends with them. Whoever follows them is like them. So, these feelings non-Muslims taste — their uniting with Muslims and being friends with them is impossible.

Why? Because they desire every kind of filth; the life of Islam weighs heavy on them. Since they leave Allah's straight path and resort to evil ways, they are fasiqs who have gone astray. People who embrace every kind of slander, every kind of talebearing, and creating every kind of chaos, stirring it up, and who take pleasure in them. According to Allah Almighty's verse saying they are like the four-legged roaming the earth, they eat, drink, have intercourse and amuse themselves. Having forgotten the purpose of their creation as humans, recognising no Allah, Book or prophet, they are selfish and greedy people.

Of course, since these people are on an evil path in their course, in the hereafter, deprived of Allah's attribute of mercy, (?) to their nafs, they are oppressive people.
