Translation

“And forgive my father (guide him to have faith repent), for he is among those who went astray.”

Tafsir

Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm prayed to Allah to forgive his father who was an idolater. But Allah did not accept his prayer. Because Azer, the father of Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm', disbelieved in Allah (swt) when he made a covenant with Allah (swt) in the past, and his own desires and wishes were given to him as destiny.

There is no one who can change the destiny of mankind except Allah. But a word has come down from Allah (saying): "There is a Book in Our Presence, which is preserved in the Tabh-i Mahfuz. It will not be added to or diminished afterwards. According to this situation, people's covenant with Allah (swt) at Kalu Bela and their own desires, wishes and wills have been given to them as their destiny. While these people are living their destiny in the realm of property, there is no one who can change their destiny ever again. In this respect, the prayer of Hadrat Ibrahim 'alaihis-salâm' was not accepted.

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 86 Yes And my father too — forgive him. Abraham (peace be upon him) is praying. Forgive my father too. Yet there is no praying for them. Now Allah Almighty will warn him. Forgive my father too, grant him repentance and faith. For he is of those who have gone astray. For his idol-worshipping father to be forgiven, Abraham (peace be upon him) entreated Allah Almighty. But Allah Almighty did not accept this prayer of Abraham (peace be upon him). Because the father of Abraham (peace be upon him), Azar, when earlier with Allah Almighty he made the covenant, denied Allah; his own wishes and desires, as destiny, were given to him. So — 'With Us there is a book, which in the Preserved Tablet is preserved. Nothing is added to it afterwards, nor taken away' — according to this verse of His, and as my daughter Elif also said there, since there will be no abrogation in the Quran, since in this Quran too there is no abrogation — because neither addition nor reduction is made to it, He says.

So, while Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes, those poor people who, by saying He made abrogation, bring Him into the attribute of (?) — because they do not understand the verses, they say He abrogated. So Azar too, because earlier he had denied Allah — since their denial will not change, since it has become their destiny, Allah Almighty in no way, from people who use their partial will, takes their will away — as written in today's Diyanet translation, or as those who, magnifying in their eyes the people they today call scholars, say: Allah will put whom He wills into Paradise and whom He wills into Hell — those who write such texts are, regarding these verses, uninformed people.

We pray to Allah. They probably don't do it knowingly either. But they become sinners; they write what they don't know. Someone who writes what he does not know — whoever acts on it, whoever acts (?), until its spread is cut off, sin goes to that person. So we say: since deeds depend on intention, may my Lord pardon and forgive them for their good intentions; because of their intentions, if their intentions are truly bad, may He reform them, we say. Yes. So Abraham (peace be upon him) too prays earlier for his father. Of course, he does not know this situation. Yes. And what does Allah Almighty say to him?

He entreated Allah Almighty to forgive his father. But Allah Almighty did not accept this prayer of Abraham (peace be upon him). Because the father of Abraham (peace be upon him), Azar, when earlier with Allah Almighty he made the covenant, denied Allah; his own wishes and desires, as destiny, were given to him. And apart from Allah Almighty, there is no being that could change people's destinies either. But a word has gone forth from Allah Almighty. What is that word? With Us there is a book, preserved in the Preserved Tablet. After that nothing is added to it nor taken away, He decrees. What other word has gone forth?

A word has gone forth from Me. Paradise (?) Hell, He says. How beautiful. Yes. So according to this, at Qalu Bala, people's covenant with Allah Almighty and people's own wishes, desires and aims were given to them as destiny. As these people live out their destinies in the material realm, there is no longer anyone who would change their destinies again. For this reason, the prayer of Abraham (peace be upon him) too, for this reason, was not accepted.
