Translation

At one time, Moses said to his people “oh my people! Remember Allah’s blessings on you. Allah has brought forth Messengers from you and made you rulers (since humans are rulers over other creation). Allah has given to humans what Allah has not given to anything else on earth.

Tafsir

When Hazrat Moses addressed his people and said, "O my people, remember the blessings that Allah has given you", it was a reminder of the many blessings of Allah that the people of Israel were saved from the oppression of Pharaoh with the help and grace of Allah in due time, that He drowned Pharaoh in the Red Sea, that He fed them with the food of paradise in the field of Tih, that He lifted the Tur as a shadow over their heads and guided them to Jerusalem, and many other blessings.

Hadrat Moses continued, addressing his people, saying, "He has raised up Prophets from among you (He has made men rulers over His creation). He has given to mankind what He has not given to anyone in the worlds). In this verse, Allah does not intend cruelty to His creatures. In order to rescue the persecuted Jews from the hands of Pharaoh, He sent Moses as a Prophet to them. He saved them from oppression and showed them the paths of guidance by sending Prophets.

When he says that he has given to human beings what he has not given to anyone in the worlds, what is meant by the worlds is all the creatures created. The word that He did not give to anyone in the worlds is the soul that Allah (swt) gave to man from His Essence. None of the creatures other than man has a soul. In this respect, He has given to human beings what He has not given to anyone in the worlds. He made human beings rulers over their creations. According to the verse (We have made you the caliphs of the earth), humans are the caliphs of the earth and all creatures are placed under their orders. In this respect, it is a reminder of the value that Allah attaches to human beings as they were created as human beings and that He holds them accountable to Himself.

What is said in the video

This noble verse has been explained wrongly, explained wrongly. Let's read you the wrongly explained version here. Once Moses said to his people: O my people, remember Allah's blessing that He bestowed on you. Yes. For He raised prophets from among you and made you kings, made you kings. Made them kings. He gave you what He had given no one in the worlds.

He gave them what He had given no one in the worlds. That's why they too, because they explained this verse like this, people say we are Allah's own, we are Allah's close ones. Right, they're justified. If Muslims explain it like this too, in this way, those men will boast, of course. (?), I boast over the worlds, Allah's word is the word, he says. And interpreting it that way, he justifies his own nafs. But its correct form: Once Moses said to his people, O my people, remember Allah's blessings He bestowed. What other blessings are there? We will write them here. For He raised prophets from among you.

He raised prophets from among you.

Yes. He made people rulers over His creation. People, not you; if it means you here, in that verse it means you as humans. With your creation as humans, it says. With your creation as humans. Even though the verse does not say "creation as humans", that is the meaning. In the Arabic word it is not necessary to (?) like this. That is the meaning: with your creation as humans.

Is there a verse? A word against what Hüseyin said. Of course there is. Didn't He make us caliphs in this world? And in the universe, didn't He give of His spirit only to us? And in this universe, didn't He address only us? Didn't He address humans and jinn? Jinn are below humans. Humans are above jinn. Is there such a verse? Of course. By making the jinn prostrate to Adam. And the father of the jinn at that. Why? Because of His spirit there was in Adam. In Adam. There was a part of Allah Almighty. That's it: in our creation as humans. Those who cannot grasp these places, (?), (?) them like this, (?).

And in this way people get caught up in all kinds of feelings. Yes. For He raised prophets from among you. He made people rulers over His creation. He gave people what He had given no one in the world. He gave people what He had given no one. What did He give? He gave of His spirit. What did He give? He made them the caliph of the earth. He gave His creation into people's hands. He gave. Allah? He loves people very much. Doesn't a person love his child? His child.

Because it comes from his own self. Of course he will love it. Without that love, he would not try to raise his child from the swaddle in the best way. He would not spend his life on its path. He would not be troubled by its troubles. He could not feel sorrow and (?) at the (?) it suffered. Yes. So our Lord, too, because He gave people a part, does not separate people from His Being. He loves people this much. But woe to those people who, not being worthy of that love, are ungrateful to Allah, who (?) Him, who turn their backs on Allah, to these (?) people. Woe to them. Yes.

We have put one verse here in its correct form. Once Moses said to his people: O my people, remember Allah's blessing that He bestowed on you. For He raised prophets from among you. He made people rulers over His creation. He gave people what He had given no one in the worlds.

Now, that is the correct version of this verse.

Let's read the crooked one once more. Notice it. Once Moses said to his people, O my people, remember Allah's blessings He bestowed on you. Up to here it's correct anyway. For He raised prophets from among you and made you kings. He gave you what He had given no one in the worlds. So here, now, Allah Almighty would have made a distinction. He made a distinction between the Jews and people. Yet Allah never discriminates among His creation. He does no injustice. Yes. Allah is just, the Possessor of justice. What would happen? If He had done injustice, according to this verse I would say You favoured them, You didn't favour me, You gave to them, You didn't give to me, You discriminated.

Of course, right? (?). So, Allah is free from deficient attributes. God forbid. May Allah protect us. Yes. Moses addressing his people: O my people, remember the blessings Allah gave you. His saying this: the Children of Israel being saved in the past, by Allah's help and grace, from Pharaoh's oppression, and Him drowning Pharaoh in the Red Sea. Feeding them in the desert of Tih with food from Paradise. Raising (?) over their heads as shade. And Allah Almighty, by directing them to Jerusalem, reminding them of many more blessings. What is the reminding of many blessings? Here, the reminding of many blessings.

When He gave Pharaoh famine, when He gave them calamities such as locusts and blood, these were exempt from them. These would take water and drink it, but in the hands of the Egyptians who wanted to take the water from their hands it would turn to blood. Isn't this a blessing?

Pharaoh used them as slaves, in the heaviest jobs, the dirtiest jobs, the worst jobs, and gave them sustenance not even enough to support their homes. Wasn't this a state of slavery?

He let their daughters live and killed their sons; wasn't this oppression? That is, when we say many blessings, there's no need to count, but we count a few here. Yes, Moses, continuing to call out to his people: For He raised prophets from among you, made you (?); in the worlds what He gave no one He gave you; in this verse, his saying He raised prophets from among you means: Allah does not intend injustice to His creation. To save the oppressed Jews from Pharaoh's hand, He sent them as prophet Moses. He saved them from oppression. Again, by sending prophets He showed the ways of guidance. The ways of guidance.

He gave you what He had given no one in the worlds: his saying that. By the worlds are meant all created beings. The worlds. Allah Almighty created 17,000 worlds. The noblest of creation in these worlds is man. Ashraf al-makhluqat. The most excellent of created beings. Laqad khalaqnal insana fi ahsani taqwim: I created man in the most beautiful form, He says. Yes. His saying He (?) you what He gave no one in the worlds: by the worlds are meant all created beings. The phrase "what He gave no one in the worlds" is the spirit that Allah Almighty gave man from His Being. He gave it to no one. Only to man.

Yes. There is no spirit in any created being other than man. For this reason, His saying He gave you what He gave none of them in the worlds, made you kings, His saying that, according to the verse "We made you caliphs of the earth", is people, as caliphs of the earth, being placed over all creatures. For this reason, since they were created as humans, it reminds of the value Allah gave people and of Him addressing them to His Being. It reminds that He created them as humans. But look, look how they explained this verse. That is, how they interpreted it. Allah Almighty created them above the people of that time.

These were above those peoples, if you notice. Allah set His creation apart. Because what will the Arab say? He can't find another word. The commentators write it like that. Well, at the other (?) of time, when they crossed over there, there was a people, and it was unaware of itself, and, let me tell you, these were created above them and so on: with words like these they try to explain it.

Allah Almighty is not addressing only that time. He addresses the future too. So among the created, people, men were created, but if they were ungrateful for that blessing, they got their due. What was their due? They were cursed. If, as they say, He had created them the noblest of creation, above people, higher than people, above the worlds,

then it means Allah Almighty could not know what they would do; though He gave them so much value, these too denied Allah, and Allah Almighty got angry at them, cursed them. Does the meaning work like that? It does. But being created as humans, as the noblest of creation, being created superior to all His creation in the worlds, and these being cursed for their deeds and their ingratitude, does not bind other people. It binds only that people. People will be called to account for the actual deeds they did; according to the verse saying no one bears anyone else's sin, since everyone will be called to account for what he did, it means: above the worlds We created people the most honourable; His saying that, His saying honour and dignity are with Allah, those who turn their backs on this honour and dignity, who turn their backs on Allah and finally, rebelling against Allah, transgress the bounds, being cursed.

Yes.

In this respect, since they were created as humans, it reminds of the value Allah gave people and of Him addressing them to His Being. I created you as humans, I addressed you to My Being, I gave you so many of My blessings, I know what you will do, but, says Allah Almighty, so that you do not say, do not say: if only You had sent us a prophet, if only You had sent us a warner and bringer of good news; so that you don't say that. Here, warners have come to you, He says. Here, a prophet from among you has come to you, He says. From among you. But you, you are lying disbelievers, He says. Lying disbelievers.

Yes.
