Translation

The people of the book, ask you to bring down a Book from the sky for them. They demanded from Moses (The Prophet) something even greater than that and said; “Show us Allah in sight (openly)!” Due to their oppression, a thunderbolt immediately struck them. And when open proofs came to them after this, they adopted the calf (as a deity). We forgave this as well and gave Moses clear authority.

Tafsir

The people of the People of the Book asked the Prophet for a Book to be sent down to them from the sky as a proof of the truthfulness of his Prophethood and that he was a Prophet. This verse is very meaningful and they think that they can deceive Allah by preparing a trap for the Prophet in their minds. That is to say, even though the Prophet showed many miracles, their inherent disbelief and their enmity and hostility towards the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) made them ask for a Book to be sent down to us from the sky, even though they believed in these miracles. If such a miracle were to appear, they would say that Allah has sent us our Book, He has heard what we said, we do not need you. Or, if such a Book were to come down, they would do the same thing with it, as they changed the Torah with their own hands, and they would change the verses and say that it was sent to us by Allah, and they would wreak havoc. Allah says in one of His verses, "If we followed what you say, there would be a lot of corruption". Because the human mind is limited, it causes many mistakes that contradict each other. Man tries to find the truth through experience in many falsehoods that he knows to be true. If Allah were to follow what people say, of course there would be a lot of corruption in the midst of these falsehoods. For Allah is exempt from any imperfect attribute, and He is Wise in His judgment.

Because their covenants were rebellious and rebellious against Allah, if Allah had rained down not one Book but thousands of Books on them from the sky, they would still not believe. Knowing that they would not believe, Allah gives examples from the past nations to prove their rebelliousness to them. (They had asked Moses for something greater and said, "Show us Allah clearly. They were immediately struck by lightning because of their wrongdoing. Then Allah resurrected them again. Although they clearly knew of Allah's existence, their covenant was disbelieving, so they harbored hatred and resentment against Allah in their hearts in the hereafter, and in the realm of property they turned to their own rebellion and put their feelings of hatred and resentment in their hearts in the hereafter into action in the realm of property. Even if our Lord fulfills the desires and wishes of these people, they will still not believe. Because these people are similar to the past nations and they are on the same covenant, they will still commit the same deed and continue their disbelief. Because Allah (swt) says that We know everything with the truth.

The people of Hazrat Moses, who lived this example given by Allah (swt), started worshipping the calf again after such clear proofs. They made the calf their god. O Allah, who is merciful and full of forgiveness and forgiveness. Allah has forgiven and forgiven these people for their repentance and supplication to Him.

What is said in the video

The People of the Book ask you to bring down a book for them from the sky. It has already come down. Even though they know the Holy Quran, they still want to see a miracle.

They had asked Moses for something greater than this and said, show us Allah plainly, so they said. Still, even though Moses brought from Mount Sinai the ten commandments that Allah Almighty had written with lightning on those stones, as tablets, still still, even though they saw with their own eyes those miracles, the writing on those stones, the commandments, they went even further. What did they say? You will show us Allah plainly, they said. They went further. Yet Allah Almighty had sent people to an unseen world. That is, He had sent them to a world where His essence is not seen. Now, do they want to ascribe attributes to Allah?

Do they want to make Allah's word contradict itself? But Allah is such an Allah that He shows them His essence. He shows it, but how does He show it? With a bolt of lightning He makes them faint or kills them; let us say He killed them. Killing makes more sense. Not fainting for them, of course. If it were (?), he would still have seen some things in this world. He kills them with lightning. After showing His essence, He brings them back to life. He shows His miracles.

Because of their wrongdoing, lightning struck them at once. Here it says lightning struck. Then, after clear proofs had come to them, that is, after He showed His essence, they took the calf as (?), it says. We forgave that too, and gave Moses clear proof and authority, it says. Can you imagine our Lord's pardon and forgiveness? Can you imagine our Lord's greatness, His forgiveness beyond imagination, how much He loves His servants? Which of us could do this as a human being?

He will say to my envoy, no offence in the comparison now, or he will say to your envoy, you sent someone to someone.

This is an order to us from our boss. The worker in that factory will not accept our order that the envoy brought. He will say, no, show me your boss first. But the boss has promised, he will not appear to you. That is the boss's promise, he will not appear to you. No, then we will not believe either, we will not work. Well, then the boss kills them. No offence in the comparison. And he brings them back to life. After showing himself, of course. He brings them back to life. Although they saw so clearly, this time they associate partners with Allah and worship the calf. Now what would you do to them in this situation?

What would you do to these people?

It is an unbearable situation. But Allah Almighty says, We forgave them that too. Yes.

And We gave Moses clear proof and authority. Clear proof: his miracles.

Yes. I suppose it is understood how beautiful the verses are.

From the Prophet, as proof of the truth of his prophethood and a sign that he is a prophet, those of the People of the Book asked that a book be sent down to them from the sky. This verse is very meaningful: they think that by preparing, as they see it, a trap for the Prophet they will mislead and deceive Allah. A trap.

Because already before they know what befell their ancestors in the past.

Even though the Prophet was given a book, even though it came verse by verse, they want a separate book to be sent down from the sky. When a separate book is sent down from the sky: look, you told us stories, this book has come; shall we believe you or this? We do not believe this either, nor do we believe you, they will say.

These are their traps. As they see it. Yes. That is, although the Prophet showed many miracles, with the denial in their nature, although they believed in these miracles, well, although they did not believe, although they believed in these miracles, out of their hatred and enmity toward the Prophet Muhammad, they say: send down to us a book from the sky. If such a miracle were announced: Allah sent us our own book, He heard what we said. We have no need of you, they will say. He heard what we said. We have our own book too. We have no need of you, they will say. Yes.

Even if they see that book, this time they will make up another excuse. As I said just now. We have no need of this address. Or else: Allah Almighty loves us very much. Look, He fulfils everything we say. We are already those close to Allah. We have no need of your messengership, they will say. That is what they say, is it not. We are those close to Allah. We are the sons of Allah. That is what they say. Yes.

Yes. Or, just as they changed the Torah with their own hands, if such a book had come, they would do the same to it, distorting the book with their hands, changing the verses, and say this was sent to us by Allah, and they would plunge everything into corruption. So Allah Almighty, by not fulfilling what they said, declares: We sent down the Holy Quran, and We are its guardian until the Day of Judgment. Not a single alteration is made in even one letter of it, He says.

Allah says in a verse: had We followed what you say, everything would be plunged into corruption. Had We followed what you say too.

Because people's imaginary wishes never end. And imaginary wishes, with people's limited minds, would wreck the universe. If Allah had fulfilled their wishes. Yet Allah Almighty is free of deficient attributes. He programmed these worlds with a program. And as a result of this program He created everything firm and sound until the Day of Judgment. Finally, when the souls to come from the barzakh realm run out, then the end of the world will have come too, and the Last Hour will strike.

And we can already see that the end of the world has come from this:

global warming, the melting of the glaciers, people no longer having children, non-Muslims turning away from children and instead giving their love to cats, dogs, animals. And the hadith of the Prophet says: a day will come, a day will come, when people's love for dogs will surpass their love for people, it says. So in this situation their lineages will be cut off, and the people coming from barzakh will have run out. It will decrease this way. Decreasing more and more, the world: however many people are still to come, still waiting in barzakh, will come down until the day of the final Hour, and after that, once people reach a certain (?), the Last Hour will strike upon them.

Of course the very last one to come too, after reaching a certain age of reason and getting involved in reward and sin, will prove himself, and finally the Hour will strike upon them. Yes.

Because the human mind is limited, they cause many errors that contradict one another. Man, amid many errors he believes to be right, tries to find the truth by gaining experience step by step.

If Allah Almighty had followed what people say, surely everything would have been plunged into corruption amid these errors. Because Allah is free of deficient attributes. He is wise in His judgment. Wise in His judgment.

Yes.

Since the covenants they gave were rebellious and defiant toward Allah. Who are they? The non-Muslims.

Even if Allah Almighty had rained down on them from the sky not one book but thousands, still these people would not have believed. Allah, knowing they will not believe, gives examples from past nations to prove this rebellious state to them.

They had asked Moses for something greater. They had asked and said, show us Allah plainly. Because of their wrongdoing, lightning struck them at once; because the lightning struck, all of them were killed. Then Allah brought them back to life. Although they clearly knew of Allah's existence, since the covenant they gave was one of denial, they harboured hatred and resentment toward Allah Almighty in their hearts in the hereafter realm, and in the great realm, turning to their own rebellion, the hatred and resentment in their hearts in the hereafter realm they put into action in the great realm.

This is in the first meaning. Another meaning: Allah Almighty lifted destruction for the sake of the Prophet. Had He fulfilled what they said, Allah Almighty, knowing they still would not believe, would have destroyed them. Because it is a public case. If people ask Allah for a miracle, see that miracle and return to their old state of error, Allah Almighty brings a public case against them and destroys them. But for the sake of the Prophet (peace be upon him), who came as a mercy to the worlds, destructions were lifted and calamities were brought instead. In this situation, for the sake of the Prophet, Allah Almighty did not heed these words of theirs.

For the sake of the Prophet. If they knew for whose sake they live, would they really insult the Prophet? If they knew for whose sake they live.

Even if our Lord had fulfilled these people's wishes and desires, they still would not believe. Because these people are like the past nations and, being on the same covenant, they do the same deeds and continue their denial. Because Allah Almighty says, We know everything fully. The people of Moses, who lived this example Allah Almighty gave, after so many clear proofs, again began to worship the calf. They took the calf as (?). Allah is such that His forgiveness is abundant and He is merciful. These acts of shirk too, because this people repented and asked Allah's forgiveness, (?) He forgave them, pardoned them, absolved them.

Yes, so in this situation, how vast Allah Almighty's attribute Tawwab is, and through the vastness of this Tawwab attribute, how much He loves His servants; that in whatever place, at whatever time, in whatever moment His servants turn to Allah, Allah Almighty says, Here I am, My servant, and forgives their sins, without waiting for Monday and Thursday. Yes.
