Allah has cursed him and he (Satan) said; “I swear that I will draw some benefit from your servants.”
Tafsir
Satan rebelled against the command of Allah (swt). When Allah (swt) told Satan to prostrate to Adam, Satan played a game of logic and said, "You created me out of fire and Adam out of earth, fire cleanses earth, earth does not cleanse fire," so he did not prostrate to our father Adam. Allah (swt) then expelled Satan from His presence and cursed him for rebelling against Allah's command.
After this incident, Satan made some requests to Allah (swt). I should see people and they should not see me. Let me travel in their blood channels. When he asked Allah to give me a respite until the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty granted him his wishes. After the angel received this promise from Allah, he turned to Allah (swt) and said, "I will go on the paths of the people who will come until the Day of Resurrection and I will seduce those who come to you and those who follow your path. Thereupon, our Lord said in His Verse (if they follow you, I have given them to you). Since Satan is hell-bound, the people who follow his path will be thrown into hell with him in the same place. Allah (swt) says in His verse (Satan's temptation to My servant who knows Me is ignorant). Allah entrusts the truth to people. Satan tries to attract people to falsehood.
O man! Do not make friendship with such a cursed one, who is an enemy of Allah and an enemy of Allah, and do not leave your soul to torment by acting in his way. Make good use of this world, which is the field of eternal life, so that you can attain the bliss of eternal life and not take your place among the shares that Satan will acquire from people.
What is said in the video
Surah An-Nisa, verse 118 — we have come to this verse. Allah has cursed him — whom?
Satan, He has cursed Satan. He cursed him. Why did He curse Satan? After giving His spirit to Adam, He told the angels and Satan: prostrate. Prostration. He said: prostrate before Adam. And isn't he here the most excellent of created beings? If all created beings prostrate before Adam. What does this show? If there is one single being to be prostrated before, it is Allah. One single being. Well then, why did they prostrate before Adam? Because He gave him a portion of His spirit, prostrating before Adam was prostrating before Allah. If only they could have known this. If only they could have known this.
Yes. That is where Satan played a game of logic. What did he say? You created him from clay and me from fire. Fire cleans clay, clay does not clean fire, he said. By what standard did he say it? O Satan, accursed one, what made you go against my command, what set you against my command? And he states this game of logic. And Allah Almighty curses him. Then he asks for a respite until the Day of Judgment. "And he said: I swear I will take a fixed share of Your servants," they say. A fixed share. Meaning, those servants of Yours who will come to You — I will sit in front of them, and from coming to You I will hold them back.
Yes. Back in the first barzakh, in that world of spirits. When Allah Almighty created our spirits, the accursed one knew nothing of it. He knew nothing. Why did he know nothing? That he himself was created from the light of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) — he knew nothing of it.
Even the angels knew nothing. What do the angels say to Allah Almighty? "On earth, one who will shed blood," they say, "will You create such a being?" they say. From this, from this: they knew nothing of humans having been created earlier. Because from His light Allah Almighty made the light of Muhammad, then gave him of His spirit. From his light these worlds, and also gave of his spirit. And from the spirit of the Messenger of Allah, indirectly, He created the spirits of people. In that case, and Satan, aware of man's creation — why, why the angels? The angels say to Allah Almighty: on earth, blood will be shed — will You create such a being? they say.
And Allah Almighty says: you do not know what I know. What do they not know? Hey angel! That you too were created from his light, from the light of the Beloved of the Almighty, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) — you know nothing of that. You know nothing of that either. That this whole universe was created from the light of My Beloved — he knows nothing of it. I have created such a being, the noblest of creation, I gave him of My spirit. You know nothing of them either. But how do they know that blood will be shed on earth? How? Satan's worship on earth — there is not one span of soil, he says, where I have not been in prostration before Allah Almighty, he says.
Where I have not made a prostration of recitation, he says. Meaning, where I have not prostrated before the Most Merciful, he says. There is not one span of soil on earth, he says, where I have not prostrated before the Most Merciful, he says. From this he gets the name Haris. That is, a great miser of worship. The angels envy him for this. He rises to be teacher of the angels. When his people transgressed on earth, take some of the angels, He says, and destroy his people, He says. That is how the angels know. That blood would be shed on earth.
In that case, of people — that they denied Allah in the first barzakh, they do not know that either. As I said a moment ago, those deniers need a forerunner. To show them evil. It is not befitting Allah to show the evil path. That is impossible. So those deniers, to live out, within their own wishes and desires, their own destinies, need a leader to show them that path. The good ones also need a leader. Who are they? The word of Allah, the prophets, the scholars. For the others, Satan, the two-legged human taghuts. Yes. And these are the forerunners. In that case he says: of Your servants whom You created, a share I will take. And Allah Almighty, since back in the first barzakh He knew they were destined for hell, says: take them, I have given them to you.
Yes, it is surely understood how beautifully, one after another, the verses follow.
What does it say now? Let us put the verse together. "Allah has cursed him, Satan, and he swore: of Your servants a fixed share I will take." Here something else comes to my mind, I cannot pass without saying it. To those who say Allah cannot be seen: devils talk. He talks with angels. How can Allah not be seen? How is this "cannot be seen"? With that short mind of yours, don't take it as "I will see Him in this world with these eyes," don't take it as "I will see Him in this world."
So it is not possible to see and comprehend Allah Almighty with these eyes. What does it say? One sees but cannot comprehend, one comprehends but cannot see. They have interpreted that verse wrongly too. "He encompasses and comprehends all eyes. No eye can encompass and comprehend Him," it says. Then if it cannot encompass and comprehend, why would I, from a thing I cannot? What will I do? What will I see then?
How absurdly people interpret even the verses. Yes. That is why we will see Him in the hereafter. We will see Him. And of Him who is Aleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, the Judge of judges, at the Supreme Court, in His presence — the verses are explicit. In His presence we will see Him. The verses say so in many places anyway. Sir, if I tell you, finding it right here now is not possible. We will show you these verses. What does it say? "O our Lord! We have seen, we have heard — is there one more way back to the world?" it says. We have seen, we have heard — many verses. In that case, to remove the majesty of Allah, to turn it into an imaginary worship, to turn it into an imaginary Lord, exactly as the non-Muslims, those idolaters, put the spirit in their imagination into idols, so too, removing Allah Almighty's being seen in the hereafter, to imagine in themselves the Lord of their world of imagination, Allah's majesty and His being seen — they fell into the game of those people who want to remove these.
And they interpreted the verses this way too.
What does Allah Almighty say? "O soul at rest! Your Lord pleased with you, you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise." "O soul at rest!" Who is this? The person who has passed through the nafs al-ammara, the nafs al-lawwama, the nafs al-mulhima, risen to the nafs al-mutmainna, become a believer, with no return, who has come to know the divine manifestations. "O soul at rest!" What is mutmain? It means to be sure of something. It means to be satisfied. It means to see and comprehend Him. Comprehension. I am at rest. Like whom? Let me give an example. Like Abraham. "My Allah, surely I believe in resurrection after death.
But show me this in the world too, my Allah," he says. Show me. What does He do? O Abraham, take a bird from one mountain and a bird from another. Break their necks. Bring them, pound them in a mortar. Pound them in a mortar. Then say "rise by Allah's leave," He says.
When he does the same and says "rise by Allah's leave," they rise from there. One goes to its own mountain, the other to its own mountain. Now my heart is at rest, he says. At rest. In the world too. So "at rest" means one who has come to know the divine manifestations. Who has seen his Lord, within the attributes, and is a person who no longer has any return. Such people — now they'll say, Hodja Efendi, you've gone too far; let them say whatever they say. They are the noble Companions. They are like the noble Companions. They are Companions, Companions. That is, a Companion is not necessarily one who lived in the Prophet's time.
Listen to this carefully too. You need a lot of knowledge.
What do we know of Companions? "Those who saw the Prophet are the Companions" — no. The Abu Jahls and Abu Lahabs also saw your Prophet. Are they noble Companions? Those who follow the Prophet and have come to know the manifestations of Allah Almighty — those people. Those who have come to know the manifestations of Allah Almighty are like the Companions. They are Companions. Yes, these are the believers. The believers. "O soul at rest, your Lord pleased with you, you pleased with your Lord, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise" — these are the people He says this to. There is no distinction between them.
In the hadith where the Prophet (peace be upon him) says "the (?) of my ummah are like the prophets of the people of the Children of Israel," those people too enter among those righteous servants. No distinction between them. Only, one of them is a prophet, of course. Let's say in the same Paradise, one has a big mansion, the other a somewhat smaller mansion. Yes. Because one is a prophet, and the others are heirs.
Allah Almighty judges by His attribute of justice. Allah is not invisible; He is seen. But not in this world with these eyes. Even if you see, you cannot comprehend. Hodja, you're confusing us now. So you're saying one does see. If we go into those matters, you will be bewildered. If you see, you cannot comprehend. If you comprehend, you cannot see. If you comprehend, you cannot see. What does it say? In the verse: "He encompasses and comprehends all eyes." All eyes. But people see, they cannot comprehend. Even if they comprehend, they cannot see. Why? Because it is a (?) realm. A (?) realm. Oh Hodja Efendi, now you are getting confused.
He manifested Himself even to Moses and the mountain shook from its place. Again I quote the verse. He, comprehended with these eyes, is not seen. Comprehended, He is not seen. If the mountains shake from their place, in the mountains,
those mountains shaking that way, according to the state of Moses' rank — there at Tur, He speaks, doesn't He, in the form of fire. Since He speaks in the form of fire, He appears in the form of fire. Since He speaks there, why does the mountain shake on the other side? These are deep matters. Let's pass over them now. These are matters to be discussed after reaching a certain level. You cannot bear these verses right now. We return to our lesson. We went into these to give you somewhat broader advice. Yes, what does it say? He cursed Satan, and they needed someone to show them the evil path. And Satan, in the first barzakh, with causes being created, causes — those causes complete the scenario that was written.
Satan rebelled against the command of Allah Almighty. When Allah Almighty told Satan to prostrate before Adam, Satan, playing a game of logic, said: you created me from fire and Adam from earth, fire cleans earth, earth does not clean fire — whereupon He said: prostrate before our father Adam. Thereupon Allah Almighty drove Satan, who rebelled against Allah's command, from His presence and cursed him.
Satan, after this event, made (?) some requests of Allah Almighty.
Let me see people, but let them not see me. Let me roam in their bloodstreams. When he said, give me respite until the Day of Judgment, Allah (?) granted the accursed one his requests. After receiving this promise from Allah, the accursed one turned to Allah Almighty: and I, until the Day of Judgment, will lie in wait on the paths of people, and those coming to You from Your path, those entering Your path, I will make them turn away, he said.
Thereupon our Lord said in His verse: if they follow you, I have given them to you. Since Satan is destined for hell, the people who go on his path are also crammed with him into the same place, into hell. Yes. Here is a hadith for you in line with this verse. A hadith. Before telling the hadith, first I want to say this again. From time to time we will bring this up. "This man denies the hadiths." We say deny hadith — listen carefully. We deny what are not hadiths. Those poor people, the inserted hadiths, while translating them they translated by their own reason, and the verses that give attributes to the Messenger of Allah and to Allah they accepted as hadith, poor things.
And after that they (?). What do they say? "This man denies the hadiths." And the Messenger of Allah says it so beautifully. Look what he says: if a person (?) a hadith to me, if it does not correspond to the verses, he is not of me, he says. He is not of me, he says. So here, in the verse: "if they follow you, I have given them to you," He said. Since Satan is destined for hell, the people who go his way are also crammed with him into the same place, into hell. A hadith for you: a person is resurrected with the one he loves. There, the counterpart of the verse. Whom did he love? Satan. He is resurrected with him.
A person is resurrected with the one he loves. Because he pours what he loves into actual deeds. He is together with what he loves. With fame, glory, pride, arrogance, egotism, grandeur, worldly desire. What does worldly desire have to do with the people of hell?
(?) the world will put on its finest (?) and say to Allah Almighty: give me to one of Your small saints. And Allah Almighty will say: that saint you call small did not look at you while in the world, so why should I now give you to him? Folding it up like a rag, it says, He will throw it into hell. What is it then? A person is resurrected with the one he loves.
Look how beautiful the counterparts of the verses are. This man does not deny hadith. He grounds the hadiths in the verses. Yes. Slowly, slowly they are understanding. Of course, they didn't know me. Suddenly a person has appeared and is speaking. Completely against what they know. Because they are bound by superstitions. How can this be? But slowly, as they listen and listen, as they are bound by the verses, they too slowly come round. We see that, inshallah. Our wish is that a person see the truth and judge by the truth. Otherwise, if after seeing the truth he tries to throw the truth onto falsehood, he himself ends up pitiable.
Plus he wrongs his own self. He wrongs his own self. Allah Almighty does not wrong any person's self. Every person wrongs himself in return for what his own two hands have earned. These are verses. We do not wrong you, He says. You wrong your own selves, He says. Yes.
What is it? Someone has come out. "The translation," he says, "you copied from the Diyanet." What is there? Look, there are four hundred and some mistakes. And I copied from there? "In his commentary," he says, "I'll find whom he copied from." Well, can't you understand the writer of this commentary from these words?
Who else but one person could open up these words in this age? Go on, find one more person.
Find one, say this one too interprets like you. Come to me. Yes. So is there none at all? Look what the Prophet (peace be upon him) says. A time will come, he says, a time will come when they will have the lion strangled by the cat. Do you know what the priests say? You had so many scholars, where have they hidden, where have they gone, they say.
Those times when they had the lion strangled by the cat — these hid themselves. Well, aren't you hiding? I won't hide; I am charged with a duty, I will explain. And I won't hide. I have no need to hide. My Lord is behind me. Yes.
Since Satan is destined for hell, the people who go on his path are also crammed with him into the same place, into hell. Thereupon Allah Almighty says in His verse: to My servant who knows Me, Satan's temptation is for the ignorant. Allah (?) the truth to people, while Satan tries to draw people to falsehood. What is it? As I said a moment ago, Allah promises Paradise, promises the truth. The taghuts? Who are these taghuts? The two-legged human, the devil. The two-legged human devil. The forerunners of evil, the dajjals. Dajjal.
If you say, Hodja, who is the Dajjal, can you explain a bit — the Dajjal is evil people themselves. The Prophet (peace be upon him) says so. He will go around the world in 3-4 seconds, in 3-4 steps, he says. There you are: my computer, sir, television screens, in 3-4 seconds they go around everywhere. He will say "Allah" and lead people after him — do they know? They know, they show the televisions. He will enter even Mecca and Medina, but he won't be able to enter mosques, he says. Show me one television in a mosque.
In that case.
Not even (?) saints will be able to keep themselves from following him. Everyone sits in front of the television, God help us, watching. He will create storms in a spoonful of water, he says, in a spoonful of water — seas. In one hand he will have fire, in the other water, he says. O my ummah, if he shows that fire, if he shows the water — the fire — do not believe him, he says. So who is this Dajjal? You, me — evil people. There, today, the thing called the media. Let the media be my enemy, however much it may be. But are all of them the Dajjal?
Exceptions do not break the rule. Among them there are good people too. Good people — Allah Almighty, the good people too, as an example to them, will show.
Can you show in a verse that He will show them as an example? As the prophets, as your prophet — the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) as witness over all the prophets. And you, He says, I will make witnesses over the other ummahs, He says. We are Muslims, aren't we; we will bear witness over the other ummahs. There is no god but Allah. In resurrection after death, in the angels, in the hereafter, in the prophethood of Muhammad and of all the prophets — we believe in all of them. Their faith, however, is incomplete. In this respect they are unbelievers. That is why we are witnesses over them.
In our worship of Allah. And among them too, those good people will bear witness against them. Allah Almighty will show them to them. Exceptions do not break the rule. These are the rules. Today, with most of the media, there is smoke. But where did the fire burn? There is no fire. It shows you the smoke. There is, there is smoke. Lie upon lie. They talk as it suits them.
They think not of the hereafter but of the world. Within the benefits they have gained from the world, they don't even think of their own tomorrow. What does it mean, he doesn't think of his tomorrow? Those who today serve dark ambitions, who show black as white and white as black, to make their own lives a life, to live the few hours of worldly life they live in the finest way — poor people who don't even think of the darkness that will come tomorrow to their children and grandchildren. Who don't think of the well-being of their homeland, of the glory, honor and survival of their nation in unity and togetherness, and only with their own ego, their own being, serve dark ambitions — those poor people. Dajjals who set up machines of lie upon lie.
Don't believe them, don't believe them.
I don't even listen to their news. Lie upon lie, lie upon lie.
Yes, when the time comes, there is democracy, he says, and hides behind democracy. Is democracy built on lies? Is democracy built on tyranny? Because there is democracy, you use your authority, within your own being, to (?) every kind of filth, and by restricting the commands of Allah who created you, you apply tyranny to the people who will carry out His commands. Is this your democracy?
The Dajjal is doing the full Dajjal-work of the age. Don't believe them. Yes. Our lesson is not politics, but Allah's verses are there.
Why? They are hostile to religion. They are trying to do away with the Quran. What is the reason?
An English writer
says: unless you remove that leader from in front of them, you cannot bring them into line, he says. They say: who is that leader? The Quran, he says, the Quran. The Quran. There you are: those who with all their might are hostile to the Quran, who with all their might spread indecency, who with all their might open the mouths of the purses and strip women and girls stark naked and put them on television, and with their nakedness call them brave. Brave — what brave? Where does that "brave" come from? There you have it: brave against Allah's command. And do you know the punishment of those who lead the way in unbelief?
Do you also know that within the authority given to you in your lifetime, using your own will, you prepare your own place yourself?
Yes.
So, O man, do not befriend such a cursed enemy of Allah, along with those who are enemies of Allah. Do not leave your self exposed to torment by acting on his path. Make good use of this world, the field of eternal life, so that you attain the happiness of eternal life, and do not take your place among the shares Satan will take from people.
Isn't that so, Ömer?
