We have sent down the Book to you with the truth so that you may judge among people in the manner that Allah has shown to you. Do not side with the betrayers.
Tafsir
The fact that Allah (swt) says in this verse that Allah (swt) shows you, proves that He raised the Prophet (pbuh) in the Hereafter before he came to this world. We have sent you the Book so that you may judge between people, that is to say, so that you may decide their cases with justice, without doing injustice to anyone, no matter what faith they belong to. So, when you judge, wait patiently for the command of your Lord, seeking Allah's mercy, in matters where you cannot judge at all.
In fact, with this verse, Allah (swt) says that the people who are in charge of making a judgment for the people who are going to make a judgment, according to the situation at the time, should think about it, get evidence, and make a decision after you are convinced of the matter.
Otherwise, if a person victimizes a person whom he dislikes and resents for temporary benefits, by being deceived by the blessings of the world, or by treating the person he dislikes and resents in a just cause, by treating him in a selfish way, by deciding against him, he is on the side of the traitors, and the punishment for this is severe in the sight of Allah, and it is up to Allah to decide.
Allah (swt), who has revealed all kinds of wisdom and events that will pave the way for people in the Holy Qur'an with examples, We have given you the Book, meaning, O people! Do not deviate from the path of Allah. Do not oppress people. Do not decide on a case without investigating it. Otherwise, you will have pity on your souls.
Allah (swt) has created human beings from the group of forgetful people. In this situation, Allah (swt) sent the Holy Qur'an, which is the proof that will shed light in front of people, so that people can find life by referring to this Qur'an when they are in trouble.
What is said in the video
You won't let go. We left off at verse 105 of Surah An-Nisa. Look what Allah Almighty says here. We have sent down the Book to you with the truth so that you judge between people in the way Allah has shown you. How beautifully He says it. So that you judge between people with the truth. But unfortunately those who cannot be worthy of the attribute of human, the word insan comes from the (?) uns. Uns in the sense of gifted. Because our Lord gave that giftedness to man from His own (?), man received the attribute of human. He received the attribute of gifted. And we say the spirit exists only in man.
It is in no other creature. Now just think about the knowledge of people who put spirits into other creatures. Do they have any knowledge? Not only have they not even touched the edge of this knowledge, they cannot even imagine it. If they could imagine it, they would not, with superstitions, oppose the knowledge that is the inner knowledge, and with superstitions try to throw falsehood over the truth. Yes, look what Allah Almighty says in His verse: hüve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru ve'z-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın.
I am the First. The superstitious know that, that He is the First. I am the Last. The superstitious know that too, that He is the Last. I am the Manifest, He says. The superstitious know He is the Manifest too. When He says I am the Hidden, they cannot come near it. They deny it. They deny these words of His in this verse. Hüve'l-evvelü ve'l-âhiru ve'z-zâhiru ve'l-bâtın. I am the First, the Last, the Manifest. Those superstitious ones accept that, but they deny the Hidden. They take everything to be as their eyes see it in this outward world. Yes. Unaware of how Allah raises people, unaware of how our Lord will complete His light, will have His religion completed until the Day of Judgement, people who have locked themselves in only because they have some Arabic grammar, poor people who, with the words of these poor people, deny those words of the Hidden, deny the verse, no different from having fallen into that state.
Yes. Listen well.
It is not that I have no Arabic; I have some. I have some. My Lord gives it. He gives it. That is why this knowledge is a different knowledge. A knowledge that will not be opened with that Arabic grammar.
You cannot attribute qualities to Allah the way you do with this Arabic grammar. You cannot fit Allah into that tiny head of yours.
Yes. So what does Allah Almighty say? Look. We have sent down the Book to you so that you judge between people in the way Allah has shown you, with the truth. As Allah has shown you, He says. Look. To whom? To the Prophet (peace be upon him). So He sends down the Book, (?) Then He says as He has shown, as He has shown. Can you think about this? What does this as He has shown mean? It means the matter does not end with the Book alone; He has also shown. Yes, if the matter had ended with the Book, the Holy Quran would have been fully understood with Arabic. When He says as He has shown you, things change.
So Allah Almighty shows those verses to the scholars, the heirs of the prophets, too, with that inner knowledge. With that inner knowledge you are unaware of and deny, Allah Almighty shows it to those people. And those people open those Quran verses without attributing qualities to Allah. Without attributing qualities. And since Allah Almighty will call no one to account for what He has not made known, until the Day of Judgement He completes His light with such people. Have you understood now, superstitious one? Have you understood, you who try to fit Allah into your head with that Arabic grammar, who attribute qualities to Him? Can you understand these things now?
Yes.
We have sent down to you the Book with the truth so that you judge between people in the way Allah has shown you. He also presents the Book as evidence. What the Messenger (peace be upon him) said, what our Lord showed, the Prophet explaining it to us in a way we can understand. With his words the hadith, with his actions the noble Sunnah. With his actions. Sir, by presenting to us what he saw there, the Prophet, who came as a mercy to the two worlds (peace be upon him), with both the inner and the outer Book, the ways of the truth he shows us. Do not take the side of traitors, He says.
Do not take the side of traitors. So even if for us the two worlds joined together, if not one world but two worlds were placed at our command, as the Prophet said, if the sun were put in one hand and the moon in the other, we would never give up telling the truth. Let those superstitious ones attack the truth as much as they like. They only burn as much ground as their own size. Yes.
With this verse, Allah Almighty saying in the way Allah has shown you proves that He Himself raised the Prophet (peace be upon him) in the world of the hereafter before he came into this world.
So that you judge between people, that is, without doing injustice to anyone, whatever faith they belong to in their cases, so that you decide with justice, We have sent you the Book.
So Allah Almighty makes His verses confirm one another. Truth and justice on earth among you, He says. Let there be those on earth who teach truth and justice, He says. What did He say? Among you, on earth, let there be those who teach truth and justice. Now these teachers are not people who learned truth and justice from Ahmet or Mehmet, no. They are the very heirs of the prophets. The people of whom he said: the council of my community is like the prophets of the Children of Israel. The people of whom he said: the passing of your scholars to the hereafter is like the sun going and darkness coming, those people.
Not people who read in a book alif with fatha (?), ba with fatha ba, jim with a dot in its belly, sir, who learned these and then said I am a scholar, no. They too, they too have their duties. They too will do their duty. What will they do? They too will teach the Quran. But he will not put his finger where he has no knowledge. For then he falls flat on his back. One will teach the prayer surahs as far as he himself has learned them, if he can teach Arabic, he will teach the Quran. Each of them has a separate duty. Some will serve as hafiz, with their beautiful voices, nightingale voices, people will (?). But this does not mean scholar.
Yes, each has a separate duty. Today these people have mixed these things up. They have taken the one who licked a little ink, the hafiz, the muezzin, and against the scholars who teach from the commentaries, those superstitious ones, when they go against their superstitious heads, they try to oppose them. Instead of opposing, if they said: I wonder what this man is teaching, and took notes and wrote it down and kept listening to this man,
in the end how glad they would be that they did not oppose it, how glad. They will have turned back from a day on which that regret is of no use in the end. Yes.
So when judging, on matters on which you can never give a judgement, keep Allah's mercy in view and wait patiently for your Lord's command, He says. And indeed they would sometimes ask the Prophet too.
He would remain silent, he would not say. Then after a while, when Allah Almighty revealed it to his heart, he would tell it. In fact, with this verse Allah Almighty, for the people who will give judgement, so that people in charge do not, before judging, judge according to the situation of the moment and harm people and wrong them: think, consult, gather evidence. What is evidence? Allah's verses. What is evidence? The inspiration Allah gives to that person's heart. Inspiration, but not inspiration in the sense the superstitious understand it.
What do the superstitious understand? Oh, let us bow to every inspiration. Is that right? What he says is right too. But they cannot understand this inspiration. First he will grasp the person's (?), and then he will know how that person received that inspiration. When inspiration comes to a person's heart, verses will correspond to it. They distinguish the satanic one very well, because they know the verses. And inspiration is confirmed in their hearts both by verses and by hadiths. After that they filter it through reason and with their tongue show people the way. That is inspiration. It is not revelation.
Listen well. It is not revelation. This is inspiration. Tell that to the poor man who cannot tell inspiration from revelation and calls it inspiration. Tell it to the one who takes revelation to be inspiration. Yes. Otherwise, if for a passing benefit a person is deceived by worldly blessings, or, when a person he does not love and is angry with comes before him in a just case, he treats him with (?) and decides against him and wrongs him, he has taken the side of traitors, Allah forbid. Allah's punishment for this is heavy, and its measure is left to Allah. For example, let me give an example from myself: they regard me as a hodja, may Allah be pleased with them, they consult me, and you too have consulted me all this time.
Let us say we did not know you, and someone who knows us and is hostile to us came before us, hostile to us too. But he is right in his case. Now would it suit us to say: you came before me, now I will break your neck? It would not suit us. Even if he is my enemy, and even if I am in the wrong against that enemy, I will still tell the truth. I will tell the truth. If I lie, then I will have taken the side of the enemies, and the burden of that is very great before Allah. That is why, even if it is your relative, your relative, Allah Almighty says so in His verse: when you bear witness, tell the truth, He says. The truth, even if it is your relative.
Yes.
So Allah Almighty, who makes known in the Holy Quran with examples every kind of wisdom and event that will open the way for people: We have given you the Book. That is, O people, do not leave Allah's way, do not commit injustice against people, do not attempt to decide on a case without investigating it, or else you will have wronged your own souls, He decrees. We have given you the Book; O man, in that Book We have written down one by one whatever is wet and dry; you, in return for the verses in that Book, the ruling asked of you, given, in the light of those verses, using them as evidence, say it, He says.
As evidence. What is the evidence? The verses. Yes.
Allah Almighty created people from the class of the forgetful. So Allah Almighty sent the Holy Quran, which will shed light before people, shed light, and is the evidence that will bring them to life, so that people, when they are in straits, turn to this Holy Quran and find life.
The Prophet (peace be upon him), before passing to the hereafter, first, in his noble hadiths, gathers his companions and says to them: O people, O my companions, I am leaving you such an evidence that if you hold fast to it you will find life. O Messenger of Allah, what is it? they say. It is the Holy Quran, he says. So our evidence, our light, our guide, and our life is the Holy Quran. No one can interpret the verses of the Quran according to his own mind. If he interprets according to his own mind, if he interprets according to his own mind, and they do, they explain many verses in contradiction with verses, opposed to one another, they explain them.
You know, one of them also says this: Hodja, I am against your interpreting the verse, he says. I do not interpret verses. I explain the verses with one another in the light of the verses.
What was it? I explain them with one another in the light of the verses. Yes. Did those who wrote commentaries also explain the verses with one another in the light of the verses? This Asr-ı Saadet commentary of the Holy Quran, which stands completely against eleven written commentaries,
three thousand nine hundred and fifty-four pages of writing: from which of them was a single sentence taken? Or on which page is there a word that contradicts another? Well, people who are incapable of grasping the place of such a person, and at the same time, those bound by these (?), do not even want to think about this. Because the whims of the nafs give people pride and arrogance. With that pride and arrogance he cannot understand what the person before him is.
Yes, when Jafar al-Tayyar went to Yemen, the Sultan, the King of Yemen, and Amr ibn al-As were friends. Friends. They make a decision in Mecca. O Amr, you are friends with the King of Yemen, you take those people, those slaves from there and bring them here, they say, to Mecca, (?).
Amr ibn al-As comes and talks with the King of Yemen; speak, he says, I will give you what you want. I don't know where to begin, he says. These people, he says, fled from our Mecca the Honoured, he says.
They came here, they took refuge in your country. I want to bring them back, he says.
I won't tell the details, the details, but
when he saw that they were Muslims, and when Jafar al-Tayyar told how in the Holy Quran Jesus was born without a father to that king of Yemen, was it the Negus? when he told the Negus, the Negus, with the staff in his hand, draws a line on the ground. Your book, he says, from our book, he says, from the light that comes from it, the same. As much as this line, he says. The two are one, (?) But, he says, these, he says, have followed a shepherd, he says. A shepherd. Because Muhammad (peace be upon him) had worked as a shepherd. They followed a shepherd. So what, he says. Jesus was a carpenter too, he says.
Yes. So people who cannot know the worth of the people before them, who value material things, who value position, remain with what they see with their eyes in the outward.
You know, in our day the primer said: sleep, sleep, lie down, sleep. With this outward they sleep, sleep, lie down and sleep. They never want to see ahead. Yes. When they hear the truth, they flare up. Because it goes against their superstitions. Their superstitions. That is why, not to people themselves, pay attention. People themselves have no worth. The words that come out of people's mouths have worth. If people themselves had worth, worth,
hell would be abolished, and in the verse Allah Almighty would not say: they are like four-footed beasts roaming the earth, even more astray in their course. If man had worth. So what in a human being has worth? His being with his Lord, his being bound by the verses, the words from his mouth, his knowledge have worth.
I suppose that is understood. Now the difference between superstition and truth is understood.
