An-Nisa 108: They can hide it from people, but they cannot hide it from Allah, for when they were plotting what Allah was not pleased with, Allah was with them. Allah is encompassing of all the things they do.

Translation

They can hide it from people, but they cannot hide it from Allah, for when they were plotting what Allah was not pleased with, Allah was with them. Allah is encompassing of all the things they do.

Tafsir

Before people harm each other, they make plans to harm others. They make their plans by themselves at home at night so that no one can see them. These are strange people. They are not ashamed of Allah and His Messenger and the Book sent by Allah, but they are ashamed of people and hide and plan. This strange person does not know that he hid from people, but he could not hide from his owner who created him. For Allah, the Owner, is the One who knows the state of His creatures and is the One who hears and sees them.

Wherever man is, strong fortresses, the remotest corners or the deepest caves and the most ramshackle places you can think of. Think with your imagination of places where people hide and cannot be found, and even if people think they are alone there, Allah is with them. There is no place where God is free from His creation.

(Whereas He was with them at night while they plotted and plotted what He was not pleased with). In this verse, Allah reminds people that what people plot and plot, the deeds of every human being, are not hidden from Him, and that Allah is with His creatures at all times, reminding people not to fall into heedlessness, and that Allah is sufficient as a witness for the person who harms people's property, or who covets worldly goods and tries to take them for himself, saying that Allah does not see me, or that I am alone here and no one sees me. On the Day of Reckoning, Allah, who is constantly watching over all His creation, will make everyone's deeds public on the Day of Reckoning.

Allah is all-encompassing in what the traitors do. He drives them to torment and distress from unknown directions. What they have prepared and what they will prepare is being watched by Allah. On the Day of Reckoning, when they deny their sins, they will be shown their deeds. They will be sent to their rightful places surrounded by the sins they have committed.

What is said in the video

Yes.

Verse 108 of Surah An-Nisa.

They hide from people, but they do not hide from Allah.

Yes.

Again a saying of Mevlana comes to my mind. Because we are living it anyway. Either be as you appear, or appear as you are.

There is no place where you are not seen, where your Lord does not see. So those who see themselves as alone, who think they are alone, who think they are not seen,

who run riot as they please when they are alone.

Non-Muslims fear not Allah but their laws. They apply the laws very well. Where there is no law, they commit lawlessness very well. Where they cannot see the law, though. Where their laws are not present. Now we cannot, as they run riot where their laws are not present, not seen, do as they do; we cannot run riot. Because we know that everywhere we are seen, that our appearance, that we are under the sight of our Lord. That is why we cannot follow our own nafs and run riot. We fear Allah.

They hide from people, but they do not hide from Allah. Yet while they were plotting at night what He is not pleased with, He was with them. Yes. At night. You know, when people have withdrawn, when everyone has gone home. They have gathered. They are setting a trap. That is, they start speaking against people. But how beautifully our Lord says it. They prepare a trap, and We prepare a trap for them. But We are the best of those who prepare traps, He says.

He was with them. Allah encompasses what they do, He says.

What is Allah's attribute of being Allah in the universe? That, for so many creatures, at every moment, according to their desires and wishes, He creates causes. That according to those causes all the creatures He created, through actual deeds, take, give, sell, eat, that actual deeds come about, that they earn reward and sin: that is Allah's attribute of being Allah. Well then, in this case, if a single atom He created cannot attain its desire and wish, would such be Allah? That atom He created would suffer oppression. Here is a verse for you. There is not a single atom to come until the Day of Judgement of which We do not know what it will not do.

In this case, is Allah Almighty apart from people? Forget people, is He apart from the creatures He created? He created them all under His own rule. What does under His rule mean? That is, let us say I invented something. It is within my rule. From it I invented something else. That too is within my rule. I invent and make them all in such a way that I can manage them myself, that I can intervene in all of them at once, in such a way. So Allah Almighty created the heavens and the earth and what is between the two in such a way that He rules over all of them at once. There is not a single atom that is outside His sight.

Yes.

Let us repeat the verse. After that let us read.

They hide from people, but they do not hide from Allah. Yet while they were plotting at night what He is not pleased with, He was with them. Allah encompasses what they do. Before people harm one another, they prepare the plans of the harm they will do to others. So that no one sees, they lay and arrange their plans at home, at night, by themselves. These are strange people. They are not ashamed before Allah and His Messenger, before the Book Allah sent, but out of shame before people they hide and prepare plans. This strange person does not know that he hid from people, but from his Owner who created him he could not hide. Because Allah, who is the Owner, knows the state of His creatures, hears them and sees them.

What I have explained is all within the range of the verses. That is, these are not an interpretation. All verses. The counterparts of these verses, these are not interpretation.

Yes. Wherever man may be, strong fortresses, the remotest corners or the deepest caves, and the most dilapidated places you can think of, in your imaginings, think of the places you imagine where people could hide and not be found, and even if people think they are alone there, Allah is still with them; there is no place where Allah is apart from His creatures. This too is the counterpart of this verse. Even if you go into strong fortresses, even if you leave your world, go to the remotest cell of the universe, We will still find you there, He says. So there is no escape. Everything said is the counterpart of verses.

So there is no interpretation. Who interprets? Interpretation is made by one who, by his own mind, within an outward knowledge, as far as his mind reaches, interprets. Whether so or right. There is no interpretation in me. I repeat. There is no interpretation in this commentary. This commentary was not written with interpretation. All of this commentary was written in the light of the verses. Show me a single word outside a verse, outside a hadith, and I will withdraw this book of mine. Yes.

Yet while they were plotting at night what He is not pleased with, He was with them: this verse, about what people plot, that every deed each person will do is not hidden from Him, that Allah is with His creatures at every moment, reminding people, so that people do not fall into heedlessness, saying Allah does not see me, or I am alone here, no one sees me, to the person who harms people's goods, or, coveting worldly goods, that good or item attempts to take into his own (?), Allah suffices as witness.

Yes. These are the counterparts of the verses? These are not interpretation. Allah, who constantly watches over all He created, on that Day of Reckoning will spread out before everyone what they did. This too is a verse. Your accounts, He says: Allah suffices for you as the one who sees. Those accounts of yours, He says, those given from the front, your book, those given from the front, and your books We will show only to you, He says. So that the Muslims are not ashamed, He says. How Allah forgave them. But what about those whose books are given from the left side?

Yes.

Allah encompasses what the traitors do.

I don't know how I explained it here, but without explaining it let me explain that encompassing to you here too. Here sometimes it comes according to the outward, for people. First meaning, second meaning, third meaning: the verses change anyway. Every person has a destiny. A destiny.

Allah Almighty says: We do not load on your backs what you cannot bear. Is that right? That is the verse. A person has withdrawn into his house. I am writing things against Doğan, scheming. I will lay an ambush for him. I will have him killed. I will pin it on someone else. But this is not in Doğan's destiny. This is not in Doğan's destiny. I am preparing such a plan. Here Allah Almighty encompasses these. That is, He does not let anyone commit against anyone a crime that is not in his destiny. We do not load on your backs a burden you cannot bear. Because that is outside his destiny. Allah Almighty encompasses it.

From unknown places He gives that person some afflictions, within his destiny. He falls into the trap he set for him himself, or his trap is thwarted.

Like those blown up on top of their bombs. Like those blown up on top of their bombs. Yes.

As Abraham (peace be upon him) (?) to the Kurds.

(?)

These people gather in the evenings. I am a witness to these. (?) They'll hang, they'll cut, tomorrow he'll do that, he'll do this, he'll do it like that, he'll do it like this. They have gathered and are talking in the evening. And I am among them. The next day, since I know this, I ask. I go to him. Weren't you going to do such and such, I say. (?) nobody came anyway, he says. There's nobody, he says.

Kazım, isn't that so? You too are a witness to these things, he'd say. In the evening they scheme, they plan, they do. In the morning there is nothing.

You are a witness, that is. We made a decision among ourselves. Yes. So Allah encompasses these. It is not within their destinies. Because what they talk about is the fabrication of their own minds. Allah does not make anyone bait for anyone. According to the verse, did you think, without proving what kind of person you are and (?), everyone will make himself proven through his actual deeds. He does not, through someone's fabrication, have others wronged and ruin people. Yes.

Allah is the possessor of justice.

That is how Allah encompasses these. He gives life to everyone. Allah is the Giver of life. Allah encompasses what the traitors do. He drags them from unknown directions into torment and hardship. The plans they have prepared and will prepare are watched by Allah. In Allah's sight, on that Day of Reckoning, when they try to deny their sins, all the events they did will be shown to them. Encompassed by the sins they committed, to the places they deserve they will be sent. With an outward meaning we closed this part like this. This is an outward meaning. Words written in a way people will understand.

Yes.

They say we took the commentary from somewhere else, and they are investigating, apparently. Where it was taken from. Sir, they are going to find that too, apparently. On earth, I tell you, look, on earth you will not find such a commentary. Let him investigate. Investigate. Yes. As for the translation, the translation. Now, some man writes this.

A person who does not know grammar, he says, how will he open the Arabic, it is impossible for him to open it, he says. Because he has no Arabic, he says. The same man says in his writing: A person like Saruhan, he says, with his Arabic, he says this time. Look at the contradiction. Well, if he has no Arabic, how will he open it, how will he know? Then: a person like Saruhan, with his Arabic, he says, in a way he himself interpreted, in a way he opened, he says, opens it. The others, he says, with Arabic, as they themselves interpret, interpret it; the differences come from this, he says. Look at the matter. Now we call out to this poor person, we call out to this poor one too. Why poor? First, he has no Arabic, he says.

Then he says, with his Arabic. He interprets it this way. His own nafs cannot stomach it. I attributed qualities to Allah. These people attributed qualities to Allah. They fitted Allah into their own heads. People with hell, jinn, people and jinn He created for hell. Allah Almighty took away people's will. He took away the judgement people themselves would make. Allah Almighty made those people do actual deeds within their own wills, made them people of hell. He put whom He willed into hell and whom He willed into paradise. Poor person. Is that how you interpreted it with Arabic? With your Arabic, did you actually attribute this to Allah this way?

And after that, play it one way, play it another way. As I said, you know the First, you know the Last too, you know the Manifest too, but you deny the Hidden. There is no such verse. There is no such knowledge. There is no such person either. And there is no such disgrace as setting out to defend within such superstitions.

Yes.

Yet in the life of this world you took their side and defended them; and on the Day of Judgement who will defend them against Allah? Or who will be their advocate? Or these shameful people, you defended them in the world, you backed them, but tomorrow at the Resurrection, Eleysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn, in the presence of Allah, the Judge of judges, who will defend you? Who will be your advocate?

What does he say? How can a man like Saruhan, who doesn't know Arabic, open these verses? How can he open the commentary? How can he open the commentary, the verses? Let me remind you once more; I won't remind you again. You know the First, the Last, the Manifest, but you deny the Hidden; you cannot know it. Your mind cannot reach there. So Allah raises such people, raises them Himself, He Himself raises them. And such people will keep coming until the Day of Judgement. Since no prophet will come, the heirs of the prophets will come. Allah will defend His religion against superstitions until the Day of Judgement.

And He will keep His religion alive. What does He say? They (?) that with (?) of their mouths they will extinguish Allah's religion. Allah will complete His religion until the Day of Judgement, He says. How will He complete it? Superstitious one! How will He complete it? With that tiny mind of yours, with the tiny bit of Arabic you learned? By your attributing qualities to Allah like this? People like you, by attributing qualities to Allah, and by making those who come after you attribute them too, do you know how much sin you incur? When you teach someone a matter you do not know, the sin he commits, and what he teaches, the sin that one commits too, until it is cut off at the end, brings sin on you.

Do you know this too? So pay attention to the words of the person who has grasped this (?).

He does not speak idly. He speaks with inspiration from Allah. You know, someone else comes out and says verses come to me, I speak with verses too, he says, God forbid, Allah protect us. We are not such people. We are the people corresponding to this verse. Most people do not know inspiration, He says.

Yes, for everything we say we bring a verse.

Why don't you speak with verses too? You too, when you say, this man speaks this way, how does he open these verses, blessed one, if you know, come out and speak. Come out. We will be glad. Speak above me. As long as you tell of Allah. As long as you exalt the Prophet's glory. As long as you teach people the religion of Islam. Teach it. I will be your slave, your slave. But not with superstitions, mind you; if you try to teach with superstition, I will face you with Allah's slap.

And you face me with Allah's slap.

Do not tell superstitions to people who will live the religion of Islam, to people who will be bound by Allah's verses, and take on those people's sins. Come to your senses. If you believe in the hereafter, that is, in the word of the verse that says, at the end of this world, every soul shall taste death and your return is finally to Me, if you believe in giving account in Allah's presence, do not oppose Allah's verses.

Use your mind.
