Translation

Allah has bestowed (them) higher degrees of honor, forgiveness and mercy. Allah is Oft-Forgiving (Ghafoor) and Most Merciful (Raheem).

Tafsir

Allah (swt) has given the mujahideen degrees, forgiveness and mercy from Himself, meaning that Allah (swt) is the Judge of Judges and will reward everyone for what he has done. He will not discriminate between His servants. As for the Mujahideen, those who spend their lives in the way of Allah, those who sacrifice their lives and property in His way. According to the verse (Who buys Paradise with his life and property), those who give their lives and property to Allah, Allah (swt) will grant them grants and favors from Him. Mujahideen are in a way Allah's guards and soldiers on earth. Therefore, their remuneration is from Allah. Allah's forgiveness is Allah's Mercy upon them, that they are not held to account for their sins and that He cleanses them.

It is narrated that when Ibn Ummi Mektum, one of the Companions, realized that the degrees of those who did not participate in jihad with the mujahideen would not be equal in the sight of Allah, he was very sad and regretful that he could not participate in jihad with the mujahideen because of his blindness. Thereupon, this verse was revealed, except for the handicapped, stating that they will be rewarded according to their intentions.

What is said in the video

Surah An-Nisa, verse 96. From Himself He has given ranks, forgiveness and mercy, it says. Who is this? Allah Almighty. Ranks from Himself, forgiveness. He created man incomplete, didn't He, mentally incomplete, and because man is mentally incomplete, he turned to his Creator. My Lord, I have erred, but forgive me, he said. Forgive me, he said. In this case, just as our Lord forgives us, we also gain reward. We also gain reward. And in return for the worship we will do, besides the rank He will give us by evaluating us, there is also a rank He gives from Himself for what we did. Here, He says, this too is a gift from Me to you.

For example, if we give an example. I had an electrician do a job for me. I had an automatic door installed. The man did not break up the concrete for the automatic door. He did not do a sloppy job for me. He took the trouble to run it underneath. His due was fifty lira. If it was sixty lira, gave two hundred lira. I gave two hundred and fifty lira. He took trouble. He satisfied me. And he did not do it sloppily. I said, here, this is a gift from me to you. If we, as humans, give a gift above someone's due when he satisfies us, and if we worship our Lord as a servant, He too, within our sincerity...

You know how He says deeds depend on intentions; if your intention toward your Lord is sincere, He also grants from His own Being. Yes, ranks from Himself, our Lord says, He says, He has given His servants ranks from Himself, forgiveness and mercy. Allah is Most Forgiving and Most Merciful, He says.

Allah Almighty has given the mujahids ranks from Himself, forgiveness and mercy.

'Has given': the meaning of 'has given', it says. The meaning of 'has given forgiveness and mercy'. Because Allah Almighty is the Judge of judges, He will give everyone the recompense for what they did. He will not discriminate among His servants. As for the mujahids, those who spend their lives in the way of Allah, who sacrifice their lives and wealth in His way: according to the verse 'whoever buys Paradise with his life and his wealth', to those who give their wealth and their lives to Allah, Allah Almighty will grant forgiveness and favor from Himself as well.

Buys Paradise. According to the verse, to those who give their wealth and their lives to Allah, Allah Almighty will (?) them with forgiveness from Himself. The mujahids are, in a way, Allah's guardians and soldiers on earth. For this reason the wage they will receive is with Allah. Allah's forgiveness, their not being called to account for their sins, and His clearing them, is Allah's mercy upon them. Those mujahids not being asked about their sins, Allah Almighty clearing them. You know how for the disbelievers Allah says He will not purify them; 'will not purify' means that these He will purify.

According to one report, Ibn Umm Maktum, one of the noble Companions, when he understood that the ranks of the mujahids and of those who could not take part in jihad would not be equal with Allah, since, because he was blind, he could not go out to jihad with the mujahids, was very grieved and saddened. Thereupon, saying 'except the disabled', so as to announce that they too would attain reward according to their intentions, this verse was revealed.
