Translation

They wish, you would also deny (the Truth) with them, so that you would be in same rank with them. Until they emigrate in the way of Allah, do not take any of them as allies. If they turn away, seize them, kill them wherever you find them and do not take them as friends or as helpers.

Tafsir

These people want to make Muslims disbelieve like themselves. Let him protect his inferiority and his dignity among people with his wealth, property and power, and let him satisfy himself by living with his ego as he pleases. This is their understanding of life. Let him crush the strong with his wealth and power, commit all kinds of inhuman acts, satisfy his ego's desires, side with those who rebel against Allah, and take what Shaytan shows to his ego as good, without saying halal or haram. These are the deeds that will persecute their nafs in the Hereafter as long as they follow the path of every nafs and Shaytan. People who want to continue their lives in this way. They give Muslims no rest. At every opportunity, these enemies of Allah attack Muslims who are with Allah.

Allah (swt) says: "So do not take any of them as your friends until they migrate in the way of Allah.

O people! Fight these hypocrites and the enemies of Allah against those who seek to turn you away from Allah and His Messenger, and strive to take your place in the Hereafter with those who wrong their souls. Do not take any of them as your friends until they enter Islam. For they are your enemies. They are the people who will harm you and oppress you at every opportunity. If they convert to Islam, do not touch them, they are your brothers. But if they do not convert to Islam and continue to be hostile to you, then kill them wherever you find them, for they will attack you.

(If they turn away, seize them and kill them wherever you find them and do not take any of them as friends or helpers). Since these people are enemies of Islam, they are always plotting against Muslims. They want to slaughter and persecute Muslims. So when they oppose you and want to kill you, kill them wherever you catch them. And do not take them as friends and helpers.

Allah (swt) has shown people all the ways to give life to human beings through His Verses and Verses. Allah (swt), who placed people in a realm of the unseen, did not leave people unattended, always guided them, and did not put a burden on their backs that they could not bear.

What is said in the video

He says: in verse 89 of Surah An-Nisa is where we left off. Right, we left off at verse 89. They wished that you would disbelieve as they do, so that you would be equal with them. Who are they? Non-Muslims. Among Muslims, they feel an inferiority complex towards Muslims. The reason is that before Islam's dignity, its belief, its faith and its character, they are liars. Being very attached to the world, (?), their eyes seeing nothing other than their interests — this degrades them. So they want people like themselves to come about. Now, a person who uses hashish or heroin, who is addicted to it, looks for friends like himself. He tries to get others hooked on hashish and heroin too.

A drinker or gambler looks for friends like himself. He wants to find friends to drink and gamble with. That is, to talk with them. Because before other people they feel degraded. They fall into an inferiority complex. So they want there to be such people, so that they can have a dialogue and talk with them. So those polytheists, or non-Muslims — what does Allah Almighty say? They wish that you would disbelieve as they do, so that you would be equal with them. So do not take any of them as friends until they emigrate in the way of Allah. That is, however much they torment you, if you cannot bear their torment, until you emigrate from them, that is, even until you leave that place, do not abandon your religion with them.

Do not take any of them as friends. If they turn away, seize them, kill them wherever you find them, and take none of them as friend or helper, says Allah Almighty.

These people, by making Muslims abandon faith for disbelief like themselves, want to protect their own lowliness, and their word and standing among people, with their wealth, property and power, and satisfy themselves by living as their nafs wishes. That is their view of life: (?) power and might, every kind of human deed and action, and whatever pleases their nafs — satisfying their feelings, and taking their place beside those who rebel against Allah, with Satan making it seem fair to their nafs; as long as every nafs walks the path Satan shows, let it do deeds that wrong its own nafs in the hereafter.

Let it do deeds that will wrong it in the hereafter. In their own view, with such a mindset, they try to draw people over to their side. This is also a view of the Muslims. They, by their own view and their nafs-driven feelings, consider themselves right, and Allah Almighty as if He were unjust to them, unjust. So the Lord in their minds, the one they imagine, will come and take revenge on those who gave them this command. They live with those feelings. People who want to go on living this way give Muslims no peace. At every opportunity these enemies of Allah attack the Muslims who are with Allah.

Yes, they never keep still. In the Ottoman Empire, there were Crusades every ten years. And now, now, in a way that makes the Crusades look kind by comparison, every moment Muslim blood they shed. Every moment.

Whether in Israel, in Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India — everywhere. Around Türkiye is a ring; all around that ring Muslim blood is being shed. So Allah commands: until they emigrate in the way of Allah, do not take any of them as friends. Because they — as long as you (?) to them, He says — they will not take you as friends, He says. Yes, we are living the best example of this in our time. In our time. Now, the European Economic Community, that is, the European Union — trying to join it, (?), Türkiye, people are eager to get in there. But do not take this as propaganda. I am obliged to tell the truth.

Except for the government we have now. Except for this government. They thought it would be an honour and dignity if we got in there. Why did they regard it as such an honour and dignity? Because in the verse (?), those who agree with their ideas end up making friends with them. I don't want to go too much into politics. I don't want to touch on certain events here either. We'll close this part here.

What does Allah Almighty say? As long as you make no concessions to them, they will not be on your side. In their charter: no Muslim state may enter among us, it says. That is in their charter. So although they need Türkiye, although they need Türkiye, and although they themselves are writhing in want, still they do not accept Türkiye among them.

But the time will come when they will run after Türkiye. Türkiye will turn its back on them. Yes. (?) gave this signal too. Whoever gave this signal, gave it.

We — Allah protects us, Allah. Even if we cannot protect ourselves, surely by our faith, within our destiny, our Lord protects us; we are not joining them. Perhaps if we had joined that union — today's Islam, within its own way of life, giving up parts of Islam — just think of it, giving them up. And when gates and borders are open, as if you were visiting between cities — think of those who go there, and then think how Islam would be lived. So, by Allah, because of those people's faith, against their laws we are protected.

How beautifully Allah Almighty lights our way with His verses.

So Allah: until they emigrate in the way of Allah, do not take any of them as friends, He commands. Do not take them as friends. O people, those who want to pull you away from Allah and His Messenger,

who strive to put you beside those who wrong their nafs in the hereafter — fight against these hypocrites and enemies of Allah. Fight them. This fight is not necessarily a fight with swords. It is also a fight of ideas. And a fight of not taking them as friends. By taking your place in Allah Almighty's ranks and by not following them, yes, until they emigrate to Islam, that is, until they enter Islam and accept the truth, none of them was taken as a friend, none of them, but (?), but as I said a moment ago, that is, in time of war, but also by talking, by mutually exchanging ideas, (?), being able to convince them.

Of course, if it is in their destiny; if it is not in their destiny, then it is not possible to make them Muslims anyway. But what is our duty? To make the truth heard. Yes.

Until they emigrate to Islam, that is, until they come to Islam and accept the truth, do not take any of them as friends. Because they are your enemies. Yes. They are the enemies of Islam.

Where you are strong, they flutter around you like moths. But where you are weak, they take your life. They will harm you at every chance, and they are certainly (?) people. Don't we see it today? It is appearing before our eyes. The oppression that Israel has inflicted on Palestine. And also the Mavi Marmara incident: their attack in international waters on Turkish ships, and the torture of those on board. These are truly cruel people.

A Muslim, a Muslim, in time of war, rather than surrender to a kafir, prefers death. A Muslim in time of war, rather than surrender to a kafir, accepts death.

Indeed, what does Allah Almighty say in His verse?

If you become weak, that is, if during war they raid you and try to destroy you by force, withdraw, build up strength among yourselves and attack again, He says. Again. So in that case a Muslim, rather than fall captive into a kafir's hands, prefers death. If you ask, would you? Yes. In the Cyprus operation, in the Cyprus operation, they gave us weapons. A weapon. And 25 bullets. What's that good for? 25. Are you an arsenal? they said. Yes, right. An arsenal? Do you carry ammunition with a weapon? You'll kill the one facing you and take his weapon. Plus, they would instruct us like this: Rather than fall captive to them, choose death.

Because compared with the torture they would inflict, death would be life to you, they said. Right. Right. That is why a Muslim does not surrender to a kafir. He becomes a martyr; he does not surrender. By what? By the verses of Allah. Because they are cruel. There is no mercy from them. Look, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also took captives from the polytheists, and wronged none of them. What did he say? Teach ten children to read, teach ten children, and I will give you your freedom, he said. They taught ten children each, and he granted them their freedom. He treated none of them as a captive, wronged none.

If you compare the faith of the Muslim with the faithlessness of the kafir, you will expect no mercy from them. You will expect no compassion from them. And you will expect no help from them either. So a Muslim must know how to stand on his own feet. A Muslim does not show need to a non-Muslim. These people, if they accept Islam, do not touch them. They are your brothers, of course. When they become Muslim, they are our brothers. But if they still do not come to Islam and keep up their hostility to you, then as a result of their attacking you, wherever you seize them — this is Allah's command — kill them. But another command of Allah Almighty: if they ask you for quarter, if they ask for quarter and promise to do you no harm, and pay blood money, or if they cannot afford it, if they ask for quarter, escort them safely up to the borders of their country, He says.

Safely. In this spirit of humanity, perhaps he will tell of this deed, of what the Muslim did, among his people, and it becomes a mercy for those there who will become Muslim.

If they turn away, He says, seize them and kill them wherever you find them, and take none of them as friend or helper. Because these people are enemies of Islam, they want to ambush people and murder them, and to keep making plans, to torment Muslims. When they come against you and want to kill you, wherever you seize them, kill them; do not take them as friends and helpers. Look what Allah Almighty says now in His verse.

The first verse of Surah At-Tawbah.

From Allah and His Messenger, a warning to the polytheists with whom you made treaties, He says. To the polytheists you made treaties with, (?). O polytheists! Travel the earth for four more months. Know well that you cannot thwart Allah. And Allah will humiliate and ruin the disbelievers. Why? Travel the earth for four more months. There are the sacred months. Four months. Because these are the sacred months, Muslims are not to fight then, but if they attack, they will certainly fight. This is Allah's command. (?) from the greatest day of Hajj, from Allah and His Messenger, a proclamation to the people.

Pay attention here. This is the subject of our lesson. Allah and His Messenger are distant from the polytheists. That is, although people are His servants, Allah and His Messenger are distant from them. That is: Our mercy is not upon them. Where is this? In the hereafter. In this world His mercy is for everyone. His mercy is for everyone. In the hereafter, only (?). Yes. If you repent, that is better for you. And if you turn away, know that you cannot thwart Allah. Give the disbelievers tidings of a painful punishment, He says. Now we come to: except those polytheists with whom you made a treaty, with whom you made a treaty, who keep to the treaty's term and conditions, who have not failed you in anything, and who have not backed anyone against you — they are outside this ruling, says Allah Almighty.

Now think, think: on earth which nation — hostile to Muslims, or having fought Muslims — can you find that falls outside this verse? Yes, these are exempt. Let me read this part once more. Except those polytheists with whom you made a treaty, who keep to its conditions, who have not failed you in anything, and who have not backed anyone against you — they are outside this ruling. That is, if he has made a treaty with you, though a polytheist, a non-Muslim, and has not spoken against you about anyone, has not — against you, and against you — backed whoever speaks against you, what does that mean?

There is, little by little, the light of faith in him. So he is unaware of it in himself now. He may become Muslim later. This one is exempt, He says. This one is exempt. Fulfil their treaties until their terms end. Allah loves those who guard against injustice. Do not be unjust to them, He says. Because they have not harmed you in any way, in any way, He says. Yes.
