Translation

Then We would have given them a great reward from Our side.

Tafsir

If people obeyed Allah and His Messenger, if they worshipped their Lord as if they were going to die immediately, if they adhered to the commands of Allah, and if they were governed by the verses that Allah (swt) has revealed to mankind as if they were never going to die, if they worked by building their world, if they acquiesced to Allah (swt) and His commands, if they acted in ways that reinforced their faith through their obedience and worship. Their reward would have been greater in the sight of Allah.

The rewards that Allah (swt) will give are not like the rewards that people receive in this world. Everything in this world is mortal. The rewards that people receive in this world will one day be gone. The rewards that Allah (swt) will give are eternal and permanent. It is the capital of the Hereafter, a certificate of closeness to Allah and a symbol of earning His mercy. May Allah (swt) grant us all such an obedience and such a worship to Him with a beautiful perception.

What is said in the video

(?). Surah An-Nisa, verse 67 is the verse we come to. Surah An-Nisa, 67.

'Then We would certainly give them a great reward from Our presence,' He says. From Our presence.

Before moving to the verse, I will explain this part to you a little in another sense. 'We would give a reward from Our presence,' He says. What does this mean?

Whoever abides by Allah's verses and removes worldly attachments from his heart and is occupied with the remembrance of his Lord — 'I have such a servant,' He says, 'such servants of Mine that neither buying and selling nor trade keeps from My remembrance' — if he comes to such a time, to such a state, that is, if he brings his nafs to perfection, attains the quality of a believer, and from there enters, at nafs-i radiya, through the gate of ilm al-yaqin, if he is graced with our Lord's knowledge — most people do not know inspiration — according to the word of the verse, Allah Almighty Himself raises that person spiritually.

Then We would certainly give them a great reward from Our presence. This reward is the reward in paradise; what is the reward in the world? If you have no money, can you buy a building? If you have no money, can you buy a car? If you have no money, can you do what you want?

Then what is my money? My worship in the world. To be able to obtain that (?), I will abide by my Lord's command. When I abide by my Lord's command, He will give me rewards from His presence. What is this? A spiritual knowledge. With that knowledge I will be bound to my Lord with love and affection. With that knowledge I will tell people about my Lord. That means I have earned that money. That means I have then obtained what I wanted. That is, it means you have been set apart for His great rewards in paradise.

What, then, is the reward from His presence? He will give it to me in the world; with the actual deeds he has done in the world, with the good deeds he has earned, He will raise his rank in the hereafter.

I suppose we didn't explain this part this way; I'm not looking. Since we wrote for the general public, we probably wrote it in a way the public would understand. Let us read. Had people, by obeying Allah and His Messenger, worshipped their Lord as if they would die at once, held fast to Allah's commands, and, as if they would never die, obeyed the verse in which Allah Almighty told people, 'Build up your world' — had they obeyed it, by their obeying they would work building up their world, their world — had they worked. Consenting to Allah's Being and His commands, had they acted, with their obedience and worship, in ways that strengthen their faith — had they behaved so — in Allah's sight their reward would have been greater.

That's what we wrote. We write outwardly, for the general public. We said we would open these up. This is the inner one. (?) The inner. And this the outer. It comes to the same meaning. More or less. The rewards Allah Almighty will give are not like the rewards people receive in the world. Everything in the world is transient. People will one day leave behind the rewards they received in the world and go. The rewards Allah Almighty will give are eternal and everlasting. What is it? In the hereafter. Yes.

The capital of the hereafter, the certificate of nearness to Allah, is the sign of having earned His mercy. May Allah Almighty grant us all, with good understanding, such knowledge and obedience towards His Being, and such worship. Yes. So here, writing it in a language that people can understand outwardly is one thing. And His saying 'Then We would certainly give them a great reward from Our presence' is another.

Now which verse does this verse support? In the last lesson: 'In the hearts of those to whom We have given knowledge, the Quran is clear verses,' He says. It supports that. He has said: 'In the hearts of those to whom We have given knowledge, the verses of the Quran are clear verses,' He says. Then We would certainly give them a great reward from Our presence. That reward: at nafs-i radiya, in the state of ilm al-yaqin, He shows you the realms that correspond to the verses, and you know that verse's (?), its essence, its essence.

This cannot be opened with Arabic words. When you develop yourself with those verses and tell people the truth too, you attain the great reward of the hereafter.

So you will earn in the world in order to build up the hereafter. What do they say anyway? Outwardly too: the world is the field of the hereafter.

And then 'Oh, Hodja Efendi, who are you?' 'You have no Arabic, how can you open it?' Who are you? You have Arabic, you have grammars — a translator. You are a translator. Whether the verse you translated is right, I know. You cannot know. I know whether it is right. If you knew whether the verse you translated was right, in the Quran you would not ascribe attributes to Allah and open four hundred-odd verses wrongly. You would not open them by ascribing attributes to Allah. So you are a translator; you will translate, and I will decide on whether it is right, not you. Yes.
