No! Vow to your Lord; until they make you judge concerning their disputes and until they accept the judgment you have made without any resentment, they have not believed.

Tafsir

Allah (swt) declares, by an oath on His Essence, how people will believe and how they will be believers if they consent to the decisions made about them, otherwise, even if they are believers, they will only be deceiving themselves and will be among the hypocrites or disbelievers.

When people come to the Prophet, who is the judge by the Verses of Allah and the messenger of His commandments, and who shows the truth to the people, because of the disagreement between them, and when they tell their case, if both parties consent to the judgment in their hearts and agree to the judgment, the plaintiff in his case, that is; If the plaintiff does not find the verdict in his case, that is, if he does not find the verdict in his favor to be less or incomplete, if he does not say that this was not my right, that my right has been usurped, and if the unjust person decides that he has not been wronged by a hair's breadth, if he agrees with the punishment given to him, if he realizes that he was wrong and pays the person who sued him his right or returns his property, and at the same time apologizes to the person who sued him and makes amends to him, then these are believers. People who are otherwise are either hypocrites or disbelievers, depending on their state of mind. Unbelievers object to the decisions. They do not like the decisions against them. They always think they are right. Hypocrites, on the other hand, do not agree with the decision, but when they are in dialog with people or in need of them, they always look for an opportunity against people by pretending to agree with the decision. They pretend to be friends of the people with whom they are in dialogue, when in fact they are their enemies.

Allah (swt) knows the secrets of all hearts. He reveals to people what is in the hearts of hypocrites and disbelievers in the light of the Verses He has sent. People can deceive people. They can pretend that they are Islam. But no one can deceive Allah. Knowing the intentions of all people, Allah causes events to unfold for people. In these events, people reveal their intentions through their actions according to their own intentions and make themselves witnesses to themselves, to their surroundings and to Allah.

Allah is Almighty with His knowledge. Because He is the Creator. He is the One who subdues His creatures and knows their state.

What is said in the video

We have come to Surah An-Nisa, verse 65. 'No,' He says, 'by your Lord, until they make you judge in the disputes that arise among them, and then, feeling no discomfort within themselves about the judgment you give, accept it fully, they will not have believed.' After a dispute you came and consulted Allah's Messenger, or consulted the scholar who is his heir; in the light of the verses he showed you the way, and in the light of those verses, though it did not suit you, finding no other way out, if you accepted it, you are not counted as having believed. You are not counted as having accepted it.

You are not counted as having obeyed him. How beautifully the counterpart of the verse 'deeds depend on intention' appears here.

Isn't that so?

What is this the counterpart of? Deeds depend on intention. What does He say? 'No. By your Lord, until they make you judge in the disputes that arise among them, and then, feeling no discomfort within themselves about the judgment you give, accept it fully, they will not have believed.' Allah Almighty, swearing by His Being, declares how people will believe, and that if they consent in this way to the decisions given about them, they will have believed; otherwise, even if they seem to have believed, people only deceive themselves, and will join the ranks of the hypocrites or be among the deniers.

Because of a dispute arising among them, when people came to the prophet who, bound by Allah's verses, as conveyor of His command, shows people the truth, and told him their case — if both sides consent from the heart and accept the judgment; if the plaintiff in his case, that is, the one in the right, does not find the decision in his favour too little or lacking, does not say 'this was not my due, my right was taken'; if the one in the wrong also concludes that not a hair's breadth of injustice was done to him, accepts the penalty given against him, understands that he was wrong, and pays the person who sued him what is due or returns his property, and at the same time apologizes to the person who sued him and wins his heart, then these have believed.

Yes. How beautiful: the unity and solidarity of Islam, within the unity and solidarity of Islam, its voicing feelings of brotherhood. In Islam there is no fame, renown, pride, arrogance, ego, grandeur. Whoever lives with such traits has not been able to reform his nafs. Such a person is liable to sin at any moment. Such a person is liable at any moment to listen to his nafs and follow Satan's track. That is why one must be very careful. This road is full of highwaymen and swindlers. Just as, if you have money in your bag, while walking among people, to keep hold of that bag you stay alert and keep your bag in your hand, so too in this age you must guard your faith in the same way.

Because at any moment the swindler before you, at any moment the thorny roads before you, at any moment the game the Taghut, that is, Satan, will play on you, your chasing after feelings of the nafs and lustful urges, being caught up in love of the world and following after them, pushes you among robbers. That is, it drags you among those who carry the burden of sin.

Yes.

People outside these states are, according to the state of their hearts, either hypocrites or unbelievers. That is, those outside the state I just described — those who forgive each other their dues and accept, without objecting, the decisions given about them, have believed. Within the judgments given in accordance with the verses. Those outside these, with feelings of the nafs, are either unbelievers or in the state of hypocrites.

Unbelievers object to the decisions given. They dislike the decisions about them. The reason: love of the world — the love of the world in his heart, the whim of his nafs, the world looking rosy to him, has blinded him. There is a veil over his eyes.

In himself — the decision to be given to him, the just decision, he finds unjust (?), and because within his own understanding he finds himself in the right, there is a veil on his ears against their words. In that case, because they do not obey, there is a seal on their hearts. Hatemallahu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim ve alâ ebsârihim gışâveh, ve lehüm azâbün azîm. And these will meet a painful punishment.

Yes.

They always see themselves as right. Hypocrites, for their part, do not consent to the decisions given. But while in dealings with people, or because they need them, they appear to consent to the decision, while at every moment watching for a chance against people. And then you see that the person who fluttered around you, the moment he sees your weak spot, has stepped on your jugular.

Who brought him to this state? When you say, 'What did I do to you, brother?', that is when that person's true face comes out. He was a hypocrite; because he benefited from you, he fluttered around you; you could not see through him. At your slightest weak spot he went after you; he may even take your life.

You will test a person in three things. One: while eating.

Second: on a journey. Third: in trade.

With these three traits a person reveals himself. In trade, does he carve the benefit for himself, or does he leave a due for you too? While eating, does he think only of himself, or does he offer you too some of those delicious dishes to enjoy? On a journey: in your time of trouble, he helps you. These three traits reveal a person. Yes. Appearing to be friends of the people they deal with, they are in fact their enemies. Who are these? The hypocrites. Allah Almighty knows the secrets of all hearts. What does this mean? Knowing the secrets of hearts: at the address of Elestü bi Rabbiküm, while making the covenant with our souls, according to their wishes, desires and aims — He who penetrates that soul deeply, who in fact gave that soul as a part of Himself, who knows what traits that soul has, and who by His will gave that soul's wishes and desires to them as character, Allah Almighty, knows the (?) of that soul. And that (?) is its heart.

That is how He knows the secret of the heart.

That wish and desire of yours that you need, which lies in the remotest corner of your heart and of which you are unaware — Allah Almighty is aware of it.

What is in the hearts of hypocrites and unbelievers He makes known to people in the light of the verses He has sent. People can deceive people. Allah, who knows the intentions of all people, brings events about for people. Within these events, through the deeds people have done according to their own intentions, He makes their intentions come to light. And He makes them witnesses against themselves — to themselves, to those around them, and to Allah.

Allah is capable of everything through His knowledge. Because He is the Creator, the One who holds His creatures under His rule and who knows their states.
