Have you not seen those who claim to believe in what was sent down to you and in what was sent down before you? Although they were ordered not to believe in false deities (taghoot), they desire to seek judgment from the false deities (taghoot). Yet, Shaytan wants them to go astray thoroughly.

Tafsir

Have you not seen those who say that they believe in the Books and Messengers sent down to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and those sent down before him? The meaning of "Have you not seen" is that we have explained in the previous verses how our Holy Prophet, who is alive, was a witness over the other Prophets. In this verse, he says, "Have you not seen those who do not believe in the other Prophets and those who seem to believe but follow tagut?" (Tagut is the name given to every person who does not recognize the truth, oppresses and leads people astray from the truth, and who himself prefers astray paths. Shaytan is the one who disobeys Allah's command and goes astray. That is why Shaytan has also been given this name). Allah says how people follow the footsteps of Shaytan because of their enmity and hatred towards Allah and His Messenger, even though Allah has sent verses and Prophets telling people not to believe in the taghut. In response to a calamity that has befallen these people, they want to leave Allah and His Messenger, and they want to be judged before the tagut.

Just as history repeats itself, people commit the same deeds in the future as they did in the past. Therefore, Allah wants to show people the truth by warning them and showing them the evil paths that people take. But people do not want to be judged by Allah's laws, but by the laws they make according to their own minds. In this case, misfortunes will befall them. People deliberately put themselves in trouble. When a person breathes in the air, he does not appreciate the air, but when he is in an airless place and becomes overwhelmed, he realizes that the air is his source of life. It is the same with fish. In the water it does not appreciate the water, but when it comes out of the water it ceases to exist.

Like this example we have given, they look for laws that will give them life, while the laws that give life to human beings, the Shari'ah laws of Allah, are in front of them. In this way they follow the tagut and turn away from Allah.

The taguts who do not follow Allah and His Messenger, who do not like the life-giving laws sent by Allah, who turn their backs on Allah, calling them the laws of a primitive age, outdated laws, are the ones who turn their backs on the laws that give them life. Man is a dignified and honorable being. By protecting the honor and dignity of human beings with His laws, Allah distinguishes human beings from His other creatures. Otherwise, as long as humans turn their backs on Allah's laws, they are no different from the rest of creation. For Allah (swt) says in one of His Verses, "They are like the four-legged creatures that roam the earth, even more astray in the way they go".

Therefore, by protecting our honor and dignity, chastity and honor, the human being, who is the most sublime creation among the creations and who is addressed to Allah. He must take his place among the creatures with the title of human being. Accordingly, man has taken his place by proving his allegiance to Allah by not following the tagut and not seeking help from it, by accepting its judgment in the way of Allah and His Messenger, and by believing in the day when he will be held accountable before Allah (swt), and by proving his allegiance to Allah (swt).

What is said in the video

Surah An-Nisa, verse 60. Have you not seen those who claim

they believe in what was sent down to you and what was sent down before you? That is, Allah Almighty, saying to the Prophet (peace be upon him) 'what was sent down to you', means the Quran, and by 'what was sent before you' the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel. Have you not seen those who claim they believe? Those who say: we believe in these. Although they were commanded not to believe in the Taghut, Although they were commanded not to believe in the Taghut. What is this Taghut? In the first sense, Satan. In the second sense, the two-legged human taghut. The two-legged human who is Satan's outward appearance.

Although they were commanded — that is, although I made known to you that there is no god but Allah, and that you should obey the prophets and those in authority among you — those who say: we believed in this, and then turn their backs on the verses and run after that taghut, you know them, He says; have you not seen them?

They want to seek judg— to seek judgment before the Taghut. Before the Taghut. That is, not before Allah's verses, but before that Taghut. Why before the Taghut? Before that two-legged devil. He will give them fatwas for his own interests. He will take money from them in return. He will rob both sides. Both sides will be pleased. And (?). As they please — not according to Allah's verses, not separating right from wrong — they go to seek judgment before the Taghut. If we were to give an example, if we were to give an example from our time, there is a human rights court in Europe, a court for protecting human rights.

That is the Taghut itself. Those wanting to seek judgment before the Taghut. You know those who apply there, to the human rights court, to seek their rights. Those are the people who want to seek judgment before that Taghut. That court rules for the side it likes. That court does not rule for the truth. Because we have all seen some of the results. We have also seen those who applied there. We saw. If you said to me: 'Won't you apply against someone treating you so unjustly?' — (?), I, before that taghut, do not want to seek judgment, (?), but I will never go there, never; even if they ruled in my favour — they are people who judge by laws Allah does not want, they rule in their own favour; even if they ruled in my favour, although I was in the right, they would surely be ruling for me because they had an interest in it.

Surely, in a case that favours me, they rule because they have an interest in it. Since they judge not by observing Allah's justice but by observing their own interests, one is never to be judged before them.

Yes.

whereas Satan wants to lead them utterly astray, it says; Satan wants to lead them utterly astray, because the things that suit the nafs are pleasing to people who follow the whims of the nafs, and they follow the nafs, the footsteps of Satan; that is why Allah Almighty says: beware, let not Satan strip you and leave you stark naked. And Allah Almighty leads us with His verses. Yes.

Let us repeat the verse. Have you not seen those who claim they believe in what was sent down to you and what was sent before you? Although they were commanded not to believe in the Taghut, they want to seek judgment before the Taghut. Whereas Satan wants to lead them utterly astray. The books sent down to the Prophet, the Seal of the Prophets, and before the Prophet sent down, and the messengers — have you not seen those who say they believe in them? The meaning of 'have you not seen', the meaning: (?) the Prophet; in earlier verses, over the other prophets, we had explained how he is a witness.

We say, in earlier verses. Here we have (?) a bit.

Allah Almighty, to the Prophet (peace be upon him), with the verses 'remember', by reminding him of the past, while he was not yet in the world, had not come into the world, before coming, before coming into the world, in the realm of the Hereafter He showed him some events of the world. That is why, when the time comes, remember, He says; here too He says: have you not seen it? That book — what people who believe in the book did, it may be the time of the prophets or it may be his own time. But when it says 'have you not seen', it means everyone, it means the time of the prophets, the verse is general.

Yes, the Prophet, who is one (?), that is, Allah Almighty sent the Prophet (peace be upon him) as a mercy to the worlds. Mercy. What does it say? Ve mâ erselnâke illâ rahmeten li'l-âlemîn. And I sent you as a mercy to the worlds. So the Prophet, who came as a mercy to the worlds, even though he tasted death, is still alive. Alive.

In earlier verses we explained how he is a witness over the other prophets. He will see them; how they conveyed the truth to their nations, their peoples — over this, at the Great Court, in the presence of Allah Almighty, he will also bear witness for those prophets. What does Allah Almighty say in His verse? I made you a witness over the prophets, and your ummah a witness over the other ummahs, He says. Yes, we will bear witness. To be able to bear witness, for us too to be able to bear witness over those ummahs, the other ummahs, we must live what the Prophet brought, that is, the religion of Islam given to him.

If, outside the religion of Islam, we follow the nations and peoples we are to witness over, and live like them, what will we bear witness to? How will we bear witness? What is bearing witness? Fulfilling Allah's command. What is Allah's command? The word of testimony. Saying: Eşhedü en la ilahe illallah ve eşhedü enne Muhammeden abdühü ve resulühü. Then? Then to continue with prayer, fasting, zakat, Hajj, and so on. After saying the word of testimony, to fulfil the conditions of faith. And toward Allah Almighty, as created servants, to carry out our duty. If we do these, we bear witness against the other ummahs.

Look, we will say to Allah Almighty, we will say to those ummahs on the Day of Judgment: was Allah the Lord of the worlds? He was the Lord. Were we His servants? We were His servants. Well, did our Lord gather the Torah, the Psalms, the Gospel in the Quran? Did four books become one Quran? They did. Was this sent to all the people of the world? It was. Was the Prophet (peace be upon him) also sent to all the people of the world as a prophet? He was. So, with your denying him, your turning your backs, and our obeying him, today everyone, as the recompense of what his two hands earned, by Allah Almighty — eleysallahu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn — by the decision of the Judge of judges, everyone will find his own place, we will say.

We believed in Allah's command, in the last prophet sent and the book He sent him with, we had faith, we were governed by it, we lived by it. But in the world you turned your backs on that light, on the light and on your Lord who created you.

The day of decision is today. And the owner of the decision — that day judgment belongs only to what Allah says, to Allah Almighty. Yes. And what does Allah Almighty decree? Today, so that no one is wronged, what you have earned, as the recompense of your two hands, will be given to you in full.

Yes. In this verse too, both about those who do not believe in the other prophets and those who believe and appear so and follow the taghut: have you not seen them? His saying this is His showing how some people opposed Allah and His Messenger to the Prophet before he came to the material world.

Before the Prophet came to the material world, Allah Almighty showing the Prophet (peace be upon him) certain events. For example, for example, Lot — Lot's people, that homosexual people, despite all his warnings, opposed their prophet.

Despite Salih showing a miracle, despite his bringing the camel out of the rock, with our Lord's miracles, their opposing him. Noah, the people of Ad, the people of Thamud, Pharaoh — despite commands and (?) being given to them, those who opposed the prophets (?). How beautiful. These are the rebellious-spirited people who turn their backs on Allah. Yes.

It is His showing how they opposed their prophets, before he came to the material world, to the prophet, to the Prophet. Taghut: not recognising the truth, (?), leading people astray from the truth, and himself choosing the paths of error — it is the name given to every such person. Taghut. So in the first sense Satan is the Taghut. In the second sense, the two-legged human who follows Satan's trail in the same way.

Satan too is the one who, not listening to Allah's command, went astray (?). Satan. When he did not prostrate to Adam, he opposed Allah's command. And with a game of logic (?) he tried to mislead Allah. You created me from fire and him from clay. Fire cleans clay. Clay does not clean fire. That is why I will not prostrate to him, he said. And in this way he was cursed. He asked Allah Almighty for a lifespan until the Day of Judgment, and our Lord gave him that lifespan. The reason: in the face of Allah Almighty's call to the truth, for the people who, with their partial will, their own wishes and desires, had their aims written as their destiny, there would be a caller on the evil paths.

That is why Satan was permitted in this way.

In this respect Satan too, Satan too was given this name; Allah, despite sending people verses and prophets about not believing in the taghut, says how people, out of enmity and grudge toward Allah and His Messenger, follow Satan's trail — so He decrees; out of their grudge toward Allah, out of the bad traits he felt against Him. Why? Because they wait for the Lord of their imagination. Allah's commands weigh heavily on their nafs. Allah — the Lord of their imagination — will do what they say, will pamper them, will value whoever has more money, and to the one with good, well-placed, many children will present Paradise.

Is there such an Allah? Is there such a Lord? The heavens and the earth and what is between them (?) their Lord's remembrance. According to the verse, there is not one atom not created by Allah. So look at man's self-deception according to his own nafs. (?) how beautifully it is put. They will not be able to see their Lord. Because the Lord they imagine does not exist. There is no second Lord. The Lord is the Creator after all. There is no second creator. If there were a second creator — Allah Almighty says in His verse — one would take what he created, the other would take what he created. There would be corruption everywhere, He says.

In this case, when Allah Almighty says they will not see their Lord, it symbolises tawhid. La ilahe illallah. There is no god but Allah. Yes.

In this way, Satan, as a guide for those who give in to their evil desires, was granted a lifespan until the Day of Judgment. And I, he said, will set traps before Your servants who come to You, I will keep them from coming to You, he said. And Allah Almighty said: if they follow you, take them, I have given them to you. Allah Almighty knows anyway; He calls them lying disbelievers — those who from pre-eternity deny Allah, who wait for a Lord as in their imagination, who associate partners with Allah, who do not recognise the prophet and the book, the non-Muslims. Yes.

These people, in response to a calamity that befalls them, leaving Allah and His Messenger aside, want to seek judgment before the taghut. When a calamity comes, they do not listen to Allah's laws. They go straight away to the presence of people Allah Almighty does not want, and before them seek judgment. What will this man's decision be? He has no share of truthfulness, so how could he give a right decision? No share of truthfulness. If Allah Almighty calls them lying disbelievers, if they turn their backs on Allah's verses, if human reason is created deficient, how much of the right will this reason know to decide?

Or, in a case where he has no interest, how will that person decide?

Just as history is a repetition, people too — whatever they did in past times, in future times too they are seen doing the same things.

In a verse, Allah Almighty (?) says this. These people, it says, what is wrong with these people? Though little time has passed since the leaders of the peoples We destroyed, how they have come to resemble their forefathers, it says. How they have come to resemble their forefathers. If the nafs is the same, if it is eating, drinking, intercourse, moving from place to place and reproducing, if it will always act selfishly and carve out for itself, as long as this nafs is not reformed, people always follow the same path. but if it is a person who has reformed his nafs, he follows Allah's path with his faith.

For this reason Allah, warning people and showing them the evil paths people take, wants to show them the truth. But people want to be judged not by Allah's laws but by the laws they made according to their own reason. In this case there is no calamity that does not befall them.

On one matter, the Jews, to the Prophet (peace be upon him), to get a fatwa, come. The Jews.

They commit adultery. To escape the charge of adultery, that is, to escape stoning, from the Prophet they come asking for a fatwa. And the Prophet (peace be upon him) says: that is written in your book, he says. Why don't you turn to your book, he says. Upon this they turn their backs on the Prophet and go. To whom? To seek judgment before the Taghut. To save their lives. Even if you saved it, what of it in this transient world? In a life of a few hours, what if you live three or five hours more?

In the end you will have bought that abode, the abode of eternal punishment. That is why, do not go near the Taghut. Whether it is Satan or a two-legged human. Do not bow to any human outside of Allah's command.

Accept Allah's command over people from the heart so that Allah makes your affairs easy. Yes.

People knowingly put themselves into hardship. A person breathing in the air does not know the value of air. The religion of Islam is the same. He does not know the value of Islam. Because Islam gives a person peace. Why does no person have the peace of Islam? In Islam one believes in Allah from the heart, submits to Allah; a person who submits to the Owner of the worlds, surely — people who submit to their Lord without thinking of this world and the Hereafter are of course at peace. Because he trusts his Lord, knows He will protect him, knows He will not load on his back a burden he cannot bear.

In this case, even if a person in this world is between two millstones, crushed, even that poison, beside the love of Allah, becomes a cure for him. That is why Islam is peaceful. This world will pass anyway; to catch the peace of the Hereafter, so that his Lord may be pleased with him, he will live seeking the ways in this world. Without regard to the torment and suffering he endures, he will lean his back on his Lord. He will say hasbünallahu ve ni'me'l-vekîl, ni'me'l-mevlâ ve ni'me'n-nasîr. How beautiful, friend, what a beautiful Master and what a beautiful (?), he will say. And the person who submits to Him will find eternal peace.

The others, however, the others will attribute everything to themselves, will rush about, try to reach their desires, and where he cannot reach them, he will (?). Because he does not know what his destiny is. He does not know how he made a covenant with his Lord. Because he doesn't know, he desires everything in this world. Yet in the verse it says: will every person be given what he desires? (?), it says. People who live unaware of these, in this case, live in restlessness, they get caught by stress. Microbes are My soldiers. With His verse 'I (?) them on whom I will', people in this stress fall into various depressions and illnesses.

Yes.

A person breathing in the air does not know the value of air. He does not know the value of a life lived in the peace Islam gives. Only when he is left in airless trouble and begins to suffocate does he claim that air itself is the source of his life. For example, now if you dip a person's head in water, and hold it like that, then he understands the value of air. But while in the air he does not know its value. He does not know that his life goes on with that (?). Only when his head goes under water and he is left without air does he understand that he needs air. Islam is this state of needing air: leaning one's back on Allah, trusting Him.

Whenever he steps outside Islam, in that unrest, within his own mental make-up, with his deficient reason, he keeps spinning around inside the whirlpool. When you've covered some way, what does he say? Whereas he is marking time where he is.

The fish is the same. In the water it does not know the value of water. But when out of the water, its life comes to an end too. Just like this example we gave: while the laws that give people life, Allah's sharia rulings, stand before people, they look for laws that will give them life. In this way they run after the taghut and move away from Allah.

The taghuts, who do not follow Allah and His Messenger, who dislike the life-giving laws Allah sent, His laws, who call them laws of the primitive age, outdated laws, and turn their backs on Allah, are in fact those who turn their backs on the laws that give them life.

In the old days — by old days I mean when the Prophet (peace be upon him) had not yet come — those who buried girls alive in the ground, those who, when a girl was born, fled to the mountains out of shame — why did they flee? Why? Because those who saw themselves as superior as men despised women, despised them, made them toys in their hands, used them shamelessly as they pleased, and like a rag pushed them aside. Those who were ashamed of this situation were ashamed of their girls and either buried them alive in the ground or fled to the mountains out of shame.

Now today, saying 'you spoil the pleasure of the eye', people who strip their wives, daughters, children stark naked, and saying how nice it looks, display them here and there, slowly slowly are heading toward that shape. We see it. Those who abduct children. Those who rape them.

Since there is no Islamic law either, in this situation, if only people knew how much torment and suffering they endure, if only they could know. In that torment, since those people are used to that life, that it is torment they cannot understand. Who understands it? That a person living Islam never embraces that life and is ashamed of them and flees — the person who lives Islam understands this. Thus, as the mentality changes in this way, a time will come when among those people there will be those who bury their children in the ground. But, inshallah, the Last Day will come before Allah allows that.

The Last Day will come. Yes.

Man is an honourable and very noble being.

By protecting man's honour and dignity with His laws, Allah distinguishes people from the other creatures He created. It is in a verse. What does it say? I created man in the most beautiful form, He says. And again in a verse: I made him the vicegerent on earth, He says. Yes.

Otherwise, as long as people turn their backs on Allah's laws, from the other created creatures no difference remains. Again there is a verse. According to it, they are like four-legged animals roaming the earth. Even more astray in their way, it says. If they turn their backs on Allah's laws. Because Allah Almighty says in a verse: they are like four-legged animals going on the earth. Even more astray in their way, He decrees. So, protecting our honour and dignity, our chastity and nobility, among the created, the most exalted creation, the one Allah addresses, man, must take his place among the created in his capacity as human.

Where does the human attribute come from? It comes from Allah Almighty giving man a part (cüz). What is that part? His giving of His spirit.

And since He gave man of His spirit, He calls him capable. Capable.

Accordingly, man must be worthy of his Lord. Today, let's say, a minister's child must be worthy of his father. A minister today does not go and sit in a coffeehouse, does not go to a tavern and drink; he must be worthy of his office. So man too must be worthy of the Lord who created him; being governed by Allah's laws, he will protect the exaltedness of the spirit his Lord gave him. That is humanity (?). Its distinction from other creatures is to fulfil its honour and dignity by Allah's commands. Yes, accordingly, man, without running after the taghut, without hoping for help from it, the calamities that befall him, in the way of Allah and His Messenger, being content with His judgment, believing in the day he will be called to account before Allah Almighty, by proving his devotion to Allah, he takes his place.

Yes.
