Allah knows that which is in their hearts. Disregard them, advise them, and speak to them words that penetrate their souls.

Tafsir

(Allah is the Knower of what is in their hearts.) This means that although Allah knows the secrets of all hearts, the fact that He says, "Allah is the Knower of what is in their hearts" refers to the hypocrites at the time of our Prophet, who pretended to be Muslims among the Muslims, but in fact did not accept Islam. These hypocrites are those whom Allah (swt) informed the Holy Prophet about. He refers to them because they are in the minority, and he refers to the hypocrites themselves by saying they.

He knows what is in their hearts. For these are the hypocrites who swear falsely, who will not turn away from their nature, and who will pass on to the Hereafter in that state. You should be good to them so that you can help them by preventing their disbelief. The Holy Prophet is the one who came as a mercy to the worlds and called people to guidance by inviting the good and the bad to Allah and showing them the Truth. So that those who choose disbelief, who rebel and disbelieve in Allah, may not sin too much and suffer too much torment, Allah says to the Holy Prophet, "Pay no attention to them and treat them well. Speak a powerful word to them so that you may prevent their disbelief.

The fact that the Prophet was told by Allah (swt) to speak eloquently to them shows that the Prophet's ability to persuade people and his oratorical qualities, as well as his knowledge, were beyond people.

When a Jew and a hypocrite wanted to bring their case to the Prophet because of a dispute between them, the hypocrite told the Jew to go to Kab bin al-Ashrah, the head of the hypocrites, and the Jew insisted that they should go to the Prophet (SAW) to settle their case and reconcile their differences, the Jew agreed to go to the Prophet (SAW) and they explained their problems in the presence of the Prophet. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) gives the verdict in favor of the Jew. The hypocrite did not like this decision. He went to Hadrat Abu Bakr and explained their situation to them. Hazrat Abu Bakr warned this hypocrite that no decision would be made on the decision of the Holy Prophet and sent them off. Then this hypocrite went to Hazrat Umar and narrated the situation to Hazrat Umar (r.a) as it was. Hazrat Umar asked him not to be misunderstood. First you went to the Prophet and did not like his decision, then you went to Hazrat Abu Bakr and did not like his decision and then you came here? He says. When the hypocrite said yes, wait for me for a while, he put on his sword from inside and when he came to the hypocrite, he beheaded the hypocrite with a sword blow. This is the state of one who dislikes the Prophet's decision and rebels against Allah and His Messenger.

The family of the hypocrite complained to Hadrat Umar to the Prophet. Thereupon the Holy Prophet summoned Hadrat 'Umar and made him narrate the incident. At this moment, Gabriel (peace be upon him) greeted the Prophet and said, "O Rasulallah! Peace be upon you from Allah, Umar is Farooq, he has separated between truth and falsehood. When he said this, the Holy Prophet said to Hazrat Umar, O Umar! You are Farooq. In this respect, the second nickname was given to Hazrat Umar by Allah (swt). He is known as 'Umarul Farooq. O man! The fact that people follow the taghut and take their place with them, while Allah and His Messenger stand, cannot save them from disaster and the punishment of Allah.

What is said in the video

Surah An-Nisa, verse 63. They are the ones of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts. Now, we will explain this in a broad sense. They, it says, are the ones of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts. When it says 'they', not only them, not only those hypocrites. Allah Almighty: We know the secrets of hearts, He says. What you need but do not know, what is hidden in the farthest corner of your heart, We know, He says. There is not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment of which We do not know what it will not do, He says. He says, in this case.

Not only them. Yes. Pay no attention to them. Advise them and say to them effective words about themselves. What are effective words? Allah's verses. Yes. Now we too — although we show people Allah's verses, when we tie a point to all the verses, these superstitions in the minds of some people stir people up. Instead of finding the truth, they are driven to rebellion.

Why do we worship? Why did we become Muslims? To earn our Lord's mercy. So, although the Prophet says in a hadith: knowledge is your lost property. Wherever you find it, take it — and although Allah Almighty says in a verse knowledge is honourable; although He says whoever has knowledge is honourable, never giving up superstition and falsehood, without relying on any verse as a basis, against persons an attack begins. An attack. This doesn't befit people. Least of all does it befit a Muslim. A Muslim. Do you know what befits a Muslim?

What befits a Muslim is to be sincere toward one another, and where one finds the truth, to warn each other and turn to the truth. With the same mindset, thinking of the day they will go into their Lord's presence, to turn to Allah. This befits a Muslim. Where he sees (?), to complete it at once. This befits a Muslim. Yes. Then to be governed by Allah's justice. This befits a Muslim.

To be well-mannered. To know the truth. To wrap oneself in modesty. These are among the qualities of a Muslim.

They are the ones of whom Allah knows what is in their hearts. What is meant here: although Allah Almighty knows the secrets of all hearts, pointing to these: the ones whose hearts' contents He knows. In the Prophet's time, those who appeared Muslim among Muslims but in fact did not accept Islam: the hypocrites. It is Allah Almighty making these hypocrites known to the Prophet. Since they were a minority, by pointing to them with 'they', He makes the hypocrites themselves known by allusion. He makes them known to the Prophet.

He knows what is in their hearts. Because they swear falsely.

Those who make this a habit, who (?) from their nature, in that state will pass to the Hereafter — these are the hypocrites. When it says 'they', it points to them. Allah Almighty knows who they are. They are the hypocrites who will not turn back. Yes.

Treat them well so that, by preventing the kufr they would commit, you may help them too. That is, now, if you are explaining the truth to a person, the truth, and in that person it leads to kufr, refrain from it at once. Cut it there. So that it is good for him too and you don't tire yourself too much. At one (?) of time, they asked us some mocking questions. Although we explained the truth, they started making fun of us.

Let me tell you what happened. They called me. Come, they said. Their names are not the point. Now, they said, this Quran. Six hundred pages. A doctoral book is five hundred pages. A second one, five hundred pages. Maybe one thousand five hundred, two thousand five hundred pages. A law book, who knows how many thousand pages. So all the sciences are in this now? they said. To us — we said, yes. Whatever there is, wet and dry, all knowledge is in it. Because Allah's word is based on letters. For example, Taha, Yasin, Elif Lam Mim — we cannot know what these refer to. Within these letters are Allah Almighty's secrets of creation.

With these secrets of creation, this whole universe and this knowledge, this program, is hidden in it. They began to laugh. Oh, come on.

Then, when they began talking another way, I said: your aim is understood. Let me tell you a saying, I said. And permit me to go, I said. What is that saying? they said. Look, I said, one of them says this: If a person doesn't believe the Quran and hadith, don't answer him at all, don't talk, end it, it says, I said. Well then, goodbye.

Yes.

So if people are going to go to the Hereafter as disbelievers, and you by inviting them to Islam will make their disbelief swell, both do him a good turn — don't increase his disbelief further — and do yourself a good turn. Don't let people make Allah's word an amusement. This is the best way. You cannot turn anyone from his words if it isn't in his nature; if it is in his nature, only then do you become a means. the one who, showing the truth to all, calls people to guidance. Who is this? The Prophet: since he came as a mercy to the worlds, good and bad he invites to Allah, showing the truth to all, showing the truth to all, he calls people to guidance. Allah, so that the one who chooses kufr, who rebels against Him and denies, does not fall into ever more sin and suffer more punishment, addressing the Prophet, decrees: pay no attention to them and treat them well.

Say effective words to them so that you prevent the kufr they would commit, He says. Yes.

Allah Almighty telling the Prophet 'say effective words to them' shows the Prophet's ability to persuade people and his quality as an orator, and at the same time that his knowledge is above that of people. How does it show this? Because he would receive the meanings of the verses, a day seventy times, the meaning of a verse. His knowledge and his understanding, his capacity, his intellectual capacity, we cannot imagine. As a result of that knowledge, such an exalted station given him by Allah Almighty that what does he say? If you had seen my light, everything from the Throne to (?) would burn, he says. He is under such a great mercy.

For this reason, eight paradises — the eighth, given to the Prophet, is called the Praised Station (makam-ı mahmud). People cannot even imagine it, it says. Yes, Allah Almighty telling the Prophet to speak effective words to them — the Prophet's ability to persuade people, his quality as an orator, and at the same time that his knowledge is above people's, it shows.

Because of a dispute between a Jew and a hypocrite, the Jew wanted to bring their case to the Prophet; the hypocrite said: let us go to Ka'b ibn al-Ashraf, the head of the hypocrites; upon this the Jew insisted that their case and their reconciliation be settled by the Prophet, persuaded him to go to the Prophet, and in the Prophet's presence they explain their problem. The Prophet, finding the Jew in the right, rules in the Jew's favour. The hypocrite, not liking this decision, goes to Abu Bakr and tells them their situation. Warning this hypocrite that no ruling can be made over the Prophet's ruling, Abu Bakr sends them off.

Upon this, the hypocrite goes to Umar and relates the situation exactly as it was to Umar. And Umar, so that there is no misunderstanding, asks him: You first went to the Prophet. You didn't like his decision. You went to Abu Bakr. You didn't like his decision either. Then you came here? Is that so? he says. When the hypocrite says yes, exactly so, he says: wait for me a moment. Inside he girds on his sword. When he comes to the hypocrite, with one stroke of the sword he strikes off the hypocrite's head. This is the state of one who, not liking the Prophet's decision, rebels against Allah and His Messenger, he says.

the hypocrite's family complains about Umar to the Prophet; upon this the Prophet summons Umar and has him tell the event; just at that moment Gabriel (peace be upon him) greets the Prophet: O Messenger of Allah, Allah Almighty sends His greetings; Umar is al-Faruq; between truth and falsehood he has distinguished. Upon this, the Prophet says to Umar: O Umar, you are al-Faruq. For this reason, Umar's second title is given by Allah Almighty. He is known by the name Umar al-Faruq. O man, while Allah and His Messenger are there, people running after the taghut and taking their places beside them — this cannot save people from disaster and from Allah's punishment. Yes.
