Do not assume they will escape from punishment; those who celebrate the things they have done, and want to be praised for the things they have not done. For them, there is a severe punishment.
Tafsir
Do people think that they are free and irresponsible? Every soul will be held accountable. Therefore, people who come to live out their own destiny in the world in the realm of the world within the realm of their will, will eventually die and be held accountable in the presence of God according to the Verse (all souls will taste death).
Those who disbelieve in the Verses of Allah, who turn a deaf ear to them, who turn away from Allah, these people should not think that when they take pride in the wrongdoing they have committed, it will be their gain. They should not think that when they attribute to themselves what they did not do in order to boast of the results of what they did not do, they will be able to get away with it. Do they think that they will get away with their oppression by usurping people's rights and laws? And such people will not escape the torment. Those who love to be praised, those who take revenge on people to satisfy their ego, those who mistreat people unjustly and oppress them, do they think that they will get away with it? They are given respite in the realm of the mansion in order that they may have their covenant witnessed in this world and prove what kind of people they are. For these there is a painful torment. They will be in torment.
What is said in the video
Surah Al Imran, verse 188: this is the verse where we left off.
Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have done and who want to be praised for what they did not do, those who want it, Allah Almighty stresses it here again, look, He strengthens the statement. What does He say? Do not think that those who rejoice in what they have done and want to boast of what they did not do, those who want it. Yes, do not think that they will escape the punishment. For them there is a painful punishment, He says. Painful, that is, agonising. Pain means agony; agonising. There is a punishment. Sometimes Allah Almighty says a humiliating punishment. Both a painful punishment and a humiliating punishment.
What is a humiliating punishment? What is a painful punishment? Today many non-Muslims look down on Muslims and see themselves in very high places. Even among Muslims, those who say I am a Muslim and yet see themselves in very high places, worldly, materially, in rank: when the brother he looked down on tomorrow, on the Day of Resurrection, attains very high ranks in Paradise, that person will be so humbled before him that when he sees that the person he looked down on is in much higher stations than himself, before his own low rank, before that one's rank, his lowness will give him such pain that this is a humiliating punishment.
And the painful punishment is a punishment his spirit suffers. In Hell. So, do not think that those who rejoice in what they have done, that is, who usurp the rights of this one and that one and boast of it, who exploit someone else's, well, wealth and property through interest and pride themselves on it, will ever get away with it. Allah Almighty is the Owner of justice. He will give everyone their punishment.
Do people think that they are left to roam free, unaccountable? That they are left to roam free, unaccountable? Whereas on those people's necks there is such a yoke, there is such a yoke, but the person is not aware of it. With every breath he takes, every step he takes, every second, these rays he gives off are being frozen and will be shown to him (?). He even has such a witness that, in himself, his body will bear witness to him. So, when a person thinks he is alone, is he alone? Is that person not seen, I wonder? So people, people, thinking themselves alone like this, when they think they are not seen, think that they are left to roam free.
That every soul will be called to account: according to the verse, all souls will taste death, and when Allah Almighty says your return is to Me, since those souls will be called to account (?) in the presence of Allah Almighty, then the people who come to the worldly world, within their limited free will, to live their own destiny, in the end, according to the verse all souls will taste death, these will die and in the divine presence be called to account. So those who in that world thought themselves left to roam free and usurped the rights of this one and that one without caring for halal or haram, did they think themselves unaccountable, I wonder? Did they think there was no Creator who would call them to account?
Or did they think they would get away with it? What does Allah Almighty say? In the verse: ve men ya'mel miskâle zerretin hayran yerah: an atom's weight of good, I will record it. Ve men ya'mel miskâle zerretin şerran yerah: an atom's weight of evil, I will record that too. So if an atom's weight of good and an atom's weight of evil are recorded, will what you did go unpunished?
So those who deny Allah's verses, who turn a deaf ear to them, who turn their faces away from Allah, these people should not think that, when they pride themselves on the oppression they committed, this will go unpunished for them.
He did not respect Allah's commands. He lived outside the rulings of the Sharia. He played around in his drink, his gambling, his adultery, his halal, his haram, his interest.
He saw the world as rosy. He followed Satan's footsteps.
And his self dragged him so nicely into the swamp of the world. He too thought he was living. During this life he thought himself left to roam free. And just as (?) goes lak-lak, with his lak-lak he spent his life. Will he think this too went unpunished?
Did man think he was unaccountable in the world? Did he think he was left to roam free? Hey man, why did you come to this world? What is my duty? To eat and drink and roam around like animals? If it were so, Allah Almighty, they are like four-legged animals roaming the earth, would not say.
Yes.
By claiming as their own a deed they did not do, so as to boast of its result, they should not think that this, again, what they did, will go unpunished.
A man says, I did this like this, I did that like that; he is lying. He tries to claim as his own a deed he did not do, that others did. He boasts. Will this too go unpunished for him? By violating the rights of this one and that one, by boasting of the work this one and that one did and claiming it as his own,
will these actions of his go unpunished for him?
Did they think the oppression they committed by usurping people's rights and entitlements would go unpunished for them?
If Allah Almighty calls out to man with His verse, with this verse, if He says: spread truth and justice on earth, will He Himself do injustice and unfairness in the world of the hereafter? He: eleysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn. As the Judge of judges, Allah Almighty will give everyone what they earned, in return for their own (?), in full. In full.
So I say: O man, open your eyes a little, wake up from sleep.
Your life is a treasure.
Allah Almighty does not call anyone to account for something He did not make known. In this case, in every age, our Lord raises scholars in a way every person can understand. He makes them heard by people and has them explain His verses.
Those people approach Allah's servants from the right and the left, from the front and from behind. They try to explain.
Blessed are those who take from them. Blessed are those who are bound by these verses. And such people are not going to escape the punishment either.
Those who love to be praised, who, to satisfy their selves, by taking out their grudges on people, satisfy their own selfish desires, their greed and desires; those who unjustly mistreat people and oppress them: let them not think that what they did will go unpunished for them.
However much, even though the wronged one cannot protect his right, when that person, who knows that the world is passing, takes refuge in his Lord with his heart, on the Day of Resurrection the right of that wronged one Allah Almighty will take from that oppressor. He will take it from that oppressor. In this world too He will make that oppressor suffer. And in the hereafter He will take it from him. And He will not let the wronged one speak up. Because the wronged one draws near to Allah from his heart, and since Allah Almighty knows that the world is a passing place, to raise the rank of the wronged one, He will not let him speak up either.
And to him He will give great ranks in the world of the hereafter. Because the wronged one will take refuge in his Lord. Knowing there is no door other than His, he will lean on Him. He will put his trust in Him. That is the difference between the oppressor and the wronged. Allah will separate them from one another.
In the world of possession, in the (?) world, to these respite is given so that the covenant they gave is made to bear witness to them in the world, and so that what they did is proven to them.
So for them there is a painful punishment. They are in a constant punishment.
