They say; “verily, Allah ordered us to not believe in any Prophet until a sacrificial animal comes which will be consumed by fire”. Say (to them); “Many Prophets have come with miracles before me. If you are truthful, why did you kill them?”

Tafsir

According to a narration, some of the Jewish dignitaries such as Ka'b ibn Ashraf, Hüyey ibn Ahtab, Malik ibn Sayfi, Veheb ibn Yehuda Fenhas ibn Azura came to the Prophet Muhammad. You claim to be a prophet. In the book that Allah has sent to us, He says that He will send down a sacrifice from the sky and it will be devoured by a white fire or made like embers. Allah has commanded us not to believe in any prophet who cannot perform this miracle. If you do this, we will confirm you. They say that this verse was revealed upon this.

These are the excuses they have invented for not believing in Islam. Even if the miracles they say had come to them, they would still not believe. The miracles of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) are miracles that have never been given to any other prophet, such as the miracle of splitting the moon in two, which will prove to people that Allah exists, that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the true prophet, and that there is no other religion but Islam, as long as the universe continues its course. When people attribute to Allah some words that they have invented, they are preparing their own misfortune in the sight of Allah (swt). If we pay attention to this verse, we can see that the Jews are attributing crimes to Allah (swt) by saying, "He has commanded us not to believe in any prophet unless a sacrifice comes that will be consumed by fire". If Allah had said this in this verse, He would not have contradicted His own words.

Allah (swt) is exalted from imperfect attributes. He has revealed the Verse about His Messenger (He does not speak in vain). Would He Himself speak in vain with this Verse, would He contradict His own words? If Allah had sent such a verse, He would have given this miracle to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to prove His Word. Some commentators say that this event was abolished with the prophethood of Jesus. Of course, this is also a narration. Some narrations lead people to wrong. Narrations are not to be acted upon.

If Allah (swt) had written such a thing in the book they had, as this people said, such a verse would have been found in the Holy Qur'an, since this book was collected in the Holy Qur'an. However, Allah (swt) declares that He did not say such a word, and that this people fabricated such a lie against Allah (swt) just to deny the Messenger sent by Allah (swt). Furthermore, as the verse states, what this people said and attributed to Allah (that we are commanded not to believe in any prophet unless he comes as a sacrifice devoured by fire, or as a victim of fire) is an attribution of Allah. Accusing Allah of being a liar.

That is to say, when people attribute crimes to Allah by falsehood, using verses that Allah did not say, it shows that they are rebels against Allah. If Allah (swt) had said such a thing, Allah (swt) would not have contradicted His own words with His verse in which He says, "Who is as faithful to His promise as Allah? We understand from these verses that Allah did not make such a promise as this people said. Perhaps such a miracle has occurred, but there is no such promise. If Allah had such a promise, Allah would have fulfilled it.

Say to them, "How many prophets came to you with miracles before me, why did you kill them if you are righteous people? This means that these people are accustomed to disbelief and turning away from faith. Even if the miracles shown to them were in accordance with their desires and wishes, they would find another excuse and turn away from it. This is because they are people who follow in the footsteps of their ancestors and are of the same character and covenant. Their forefathers also slaughtered the prophets. The verse proves to us that this people are on the footsteps of their ancestors. (Why did you kill them if you are truthful?) However, it was not they who killed the prophets, but their ancestors. The fact that the blame is attributed to them is because they are of the same character and their covenants are the same. In this respect, how beautifully Allah explains their situation to people in His verses.

What is said in the video

'Truly, Allah has commanded us – unless an offering comes to us that fire consumes and burns to embers – not to believe in any prophet' – to those who say this, say: 'Many prophets came to you before me with miracles; if you are truthful people, then why did you kill them?'

Yes, even if an offering came and the fire consumed it entirely, it says – this time they'd deify the fire; 'the fire sends it to itself,' they'd say. This time even more kinds of people would go astray. Or if we think about the (?) side of the matter, that is, its true side, if people asked Allah Almighty for a miracle and if Allah Almighty shows people that miracle, and those people, after seeing that miracle, turn back to going astray, then the public case seizes them. Allah's public case. Then they are destroyed there. Like the destructions among the people of (?), like the destructions among the people of Lot, He sends. For example, like in the people of Salih, the yellow camel's (?) – their slaughtering it. In this case, many destructions have been given to people, but Allah Almighty shows a miracle – people ask for it – and if after people see that miracle they again return to straying, then the destruction we call Allah's public case begins; it destroys people.

That is why Allah Almighty, because He is patient, what people want – (?) 'to you, I am Allah' – He doesn't show it to them right away. Because He also knows their characters, their destinies. He knows they won't believe either. In this respect, how beautifully He says it – what does He say?

To those who say that, He says, say: 'Many prophets came to you before me with miracles. If you are truthful people, then why did you kill them?' Those prophets.

According to one narration, Jewish leaders such as Ka'b ibn Ashraf, Huyayy ibn Akhtab, Malik ibn Sayfi, Wahb ibn Yahuda, Finhas ibn Azura – some people came to the Prophet and said: 'O Muhammad, you claim to be a prophet. Allah, in the book He sent us – let Him send down an offering to us from the sky, let a white fire consume it or make it like embers. Believe in no prophet who cannot perform these miracles – so Allah commanded us.' These are (?) they fabricated with their own hands.

'If you do this, we will confirm you,' they had said. This verse was revealed upon this, they say. Yes.

These are excuses they made up so as not to believe in Islam. We say.

Even if they saw those miracles, they would still not believe anyway. Even if the miracles they spoke of had come to them, they would still not believe. The miracles of Muhammad (peace be upon him) are miracles given to no other prophet.

Şakk-ı kamer, that is, splitting the moon in two. In the universe to this day, such a miracle was given to no prophet.

The moon splits in two, half goes west, half goes east. Byzantium sees this. 'A prophet has come,' it says. Though Byzantium saw the Prophet, it of course continued in its disbelief. Yes, then the moon joins together again.

Today those who went to the moon, the astronauts, around the moon, that is, from its middle around, see that there is a deep crack (?). Yes. Everything is a miracle.

Our Prophet's miracles are miracles given to no other prophet. The miracle of Şakk-ı kamer, that is, the miracle (?) the moon in two, which, as the universe continues its course – as long as the universe continues its course, this miracle too will prove to people Allah's existence, that Muhammad is the true prophet, and that besides the religion of Islam there is no other religion. With what? Those who go up there, by seeing these – those miracles, as in our time, will live on. People's own (?) – attributing certain words to Allah, that is, 'until an offering comes that fire consumes or makes like embers, we won't believe you; Allah commanded us so' – people's words, with their own speech, attributed to Allah.

Yes.

In Allah Almighty's sight, this is them preparing their own disasters. So: it is the recompense of what your two hands earned. The verses come to light anyway.

If we pay attention to the verse, the Jews – saying, 'Until an offering comes to us that fire consumes and burns to embers, He commanded us not to believe in any prophet' – to Allah Almighty they attribute a crime, a crime. Since the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel are in the Quran, in the Quran there is no such verse. yes 'You, Allah's word, do not change for a few pennies of worldly gain,' says Allah Almighty. Their rabbis, with their own hands, changed their own books, saying 'Allah said so'. They changed it to suit their own interests.

In this verse – if Allah had said it this way, His own word He Himself would not refute, Allah Almighty. I mean, what does it say? He would not refute His own word Himself.

'Truly, Allah has commanded us – unless an offering comes to us that fire consumes and burns to embers – not to believe in any prophet' – to those who say this, say this, He says. 'He said it.' If He Himself had said it, Allah Almighty would not refute His word – 'Yes, I said it,' He would say. For example, you tell me something. 'Hodja, you had said this.' I say, yes, I said this. But when you misunderstand what I didn't say, when you misunderstand, when you say 'Hodja, you said this', I say I didn't say any such thing. Now, with Allah Almighty too – 'Who keeps his word as faithfully as Allah?' according to that verse – since Allah is faithful to His word, if He had said it in the way they said... – to those who say 'He commanded us not to believe', say this, He says.

'Many prophets came to you before me with miracles. If you are truthful people, why did you kill them?'

Why did you kill them?

Allah Almighty is free from deficient attributes. About His Beloved He revealed the verse 'He does not speak idly'. With this verse, would He Himself speak idly, refute His own word? If Allah had sent such a verse, He would give this miracle to Muhammad (peace be upon him) too, and His word He would prove. Or Allah's verses – that is, the Torah is a verse, the Gospel is a verse, the Psalms too are a verse – the commands and words Allah sent are verses. Since these are in the Quran, since it would be a verse in the Quran, that is, a word from Allah, and since these are revelation, in the Quran there is neither such a revelation nor such a verse.

People's fabrications. And Allah Almighty answers them so beautifully anyway. And we are proving it here anyway.

Some commentators say this practice, with the prophethood of Jesus, was lifted.

Some commentators say this practice, with Jesus, was lifted. Those commentators are commentators like them. Like whom? Commentators who think outside the religion of Islam. What sort of commentator he is, what sort of, well, wretched person who puts himself in a scholar's place – what does Allah Almighty say? 'Whatever We said before, it is the same in pre-eternity,' He says. 'There is no change in Our word,' He says. So Allah Almighty does not show that to one and remove this from another. They are commentators serving a certain mindset, acting in enmity to Allah within the framework of a certain mindset – commentators.

Let there not be such commentators. A commentator speaks in accordance with Allah's verses.

By people's own reasoning one cannot be a commentator. That is, the verses aren't opened up that way. Saying 'I have knowledge, let me do this like so', they cannot go and interpret the verses according to their own minds. If they do, they expose their ignorance. Their ignorance.

How many people have interpreted these verses?

Very few people. In the end everyone started interpreting. According to their own minds. Today there are eleven-odd tafsirs. Well, pay attention to the tafsirs. On one page there are words that don't match each other, that condemn each other. About the believer it says the believer is a person with a very high degree; on the same page it says the believer is a person of the lowest degree of Islam.

These are people whose one statement contradicts the other, or who, outside the Islamic mindset, act in enmity to Islam, those people who serve dark aims – their tafsirs. Don't believe them. Some commentators say this practice was lifted with the prophethood of Jesus. Of course this too is a narration. Some narrations lead people into error. We say one does not act on narrations. We don't (?) much there, since it is public. This much we say. To one who understands, a mosquito is a saz; to one who doesn't, drum and zurna are too little. So we are telling the verses. What do we say? Allah does not fall short in His word.

'Whatever We (?) at first, it is that in pre-eternity too,' He says. Allah does not go back on His word, He says. Yes. Allah doesn't do this to one, that to another. Whatever He said, that's it. Allah Almighty – if, as this people said, it had been written like this in the books in their hands, since these books are gathered in the Quran, in the Quran such a verse would be found, we said.

Whereas Allah Almighty makes known that He said no such word, that this people, merely so that the prophet Allah Almighty sent be refuted, fabricated such lies against Allah. And after that, people who serve such mindsets also say, 'No, with Jesus this was removed from the Gospel' – so that, against the Quran, in the light of the Quran, they would not be shown to be liars – words with which they defend them. So this is whom people serve as 'commentators' – (?) people.

Yes, moreover, as stated in the verse, that this people said and attributed to Allah 'until an offering comes that fire consumes or makes embers, we were commanded not to believe in any prophet' – this is their ascribing attributes to Allah, accusing Allah of lying. That is, He Himself refuted His own word. 'We rule by Allah's command. For us to know that you are a prophet, our Lord had informed us so. If you don't make this known, we won't believe in you.' Whereas Allah never fulfills what He did not say. What He did not say. If He does fulfill what He did not say – since He knows they won't believe either, the public case seizes them and destroys them.

Destroys them. Then, since among the generations to come from them – our Lord knows this, of course – there are Muslims, those who will become Muslim, Allah Almighty (?) what they say, and gives them such an answer. Of course, and the people Allah Almighty raised with His verses, opening Allah's verses to people – that these people are liars, that the words they claimed to attribute to Allah are found neither in the Torah, nor here, nor in the Gospel, and that those who say this was removed from the Gospel with Jesus, and serve such people, of the same mindset, are liars, enemies of Allah – how beautifully we prove it with the verses.

So, people attributing verses Allah did not say, with lies, to Allah as a crime – this shows they are rebels against Allah. Yes. And the people who defend it are also rebels against Allah. That's right. With word games: 'no, this was removed from that', 'no, removed from there'. It even went so far that among us, even in the Quran, that – some people, we'll say, I can't find any more words, but those people say these verses were abrogated – and there is no abrogation in the Quran. That is, 'changed'. They cannot be changed. Verses in the Quran were not changed. They didn't understand. What does it say?

Do not marry polytheists. And in another verse: you may marry disbelievers, from the People of the Book you may marry. 'This verse changed it, abrogated it.' He knows that a polytheist is an idolater; the People of the Book, though they deny Allah, still believe in a certain Allah – though they speak of attributes, they believe in Him – people who judge by the book in their homes. You may marry them – He opens a door for them. For Muslims, so that they can marry.

Yes. Had Allah Almighty said such a thing, Allah Almighty – through His verse 'Who would be more faithful to his promise than Allah?' – His own word He would not refute Himself. From these verses we understand that Allah Almighty, the kind of promise this people spoke of, did not make. Perhaps such a miracle did appear. But there is no such promise. If Allah had such a promise, Allah would fulfill His promise. Surely He will fulfill that promise.

So you say to them: before me, many prophets came with miracles to you. 'Before me,' it says, that is, before the Messenger of Allah, to them many prophets came. If you are truthful people, then why did you kill them? Why did you kill those prophets? You didn't believe them either. In the face of the miracles they showed too, your own false beliefs, your own lineage, your own nafs you held above Allah's word, so what they said weighed heavy on your nafs, and you killed them.

Will it remain as profit with you?

We raise those criminals, where they are, to the highest position, so that they increase their disbelief. That is, what kind of people they are – in those highest positions where they are, they prove it. Those criminals, it says. So they kill prophets. They devour orphans' rights. They try to load the world's wealth onto their own backs. So they prove what kind of people they are. They make the Ottomans look bad. Because between people devoted to their nafs and the Ottomans no point of compatibility can be found. Why not? The Ottoman knew that the state's property was the orphan's right, and would not lay a hand on it.

Solomon wove baskets with his own hands, sold them, and ate from that. The Ottomans too had the crafts they made privately, some goods, sold, and ate with the money they earned. Even the armchair set made by the 4th (?) or the 3rd (?) – from what I heard, it's at Türkan Şuray's home, apparently. I mean, she bought it. I mean, these knew what state property is. They knew what state property is. Accordingly they would never betray the state's property. In this way that state would rise. It would rise. It would ascend.

What does it say? Now: so say to them, many prophets came to you before me with miracles. If you are truthful people, then why did you kill them? So these people are people accustomed to denial and to turning away from faith. Even if the miracles shown to them were in line with their wishes and desires, they would find another excuse and turn their faces from that too. Because these are people on their ancestors' footsteps, of the same character and covenant people. What does it say anyway? In the verse: 'We saw our ancestors (?) on this trace.' 'We never turn from our ancestors' promise,' they say.

In this respect, people, for worldly goods – as they long, for worldly goods as they long, they move away from Allah.

These are an inversely proportional thing. And the more they long for Allah, the more they feel ardent love, the more detached from the world they become.

The nafs has seven heads.

The biggest head is love of the world. If a person does not, within himself, the head of this love of the world do away with – does not tear off its head – then even if the other six heads scatter under his control, they sprout again; again in people those six heads appear. What are they? Fame, renown, pride, arrogance, egotism and grandeur. The seventh: worldly desire. If a person cuts off only the head of worldly desire, these six heads wither by themselves.

Look at people today: people with three pennies in their pockets – their eyes clouded by this rosy life of the world – they have deified their nafs so much that there is no (?) higher than themselves.

So this is love of the world, weakness of faith.

So the more a person deifies his nafs, the further he moves from Allah, and they never want to turn to Allah. That this people follow their ancestors, the verse proves to us. If you (?) truthful, then why did you kill them? They too are on their ancestors' path. Yet those who killed the prophets are not these but their ancestors. The crime being ascribed to them here is because these people are on the same characters and their covenants are the same as one another's. What does Allah Almighty say in one verse? Though very little time has passed over the people you destroyed, how they came to resemble their ancestors, how they moved away from faith, says Allah Almighty.

Yes, this is human character, this is man.

The crime being ascribed to them here is because these people are of the same characters and their covenants are the same as one another's. In this respect, Allah, with His verses, how beautifully He sets out their states to people – we have said.
