Translation

Those who deny and then die as blasphemers, even if they were to give a world full of gold as ransom, it will not be accepted from them. For them, there is a severe punishment and there are no helpers.

Tafsir

After Allah (swt) proves His existence with proofs, people will not be able to avoid the slightest denial. Allah (swt) will raise questions that would never have occurred to human minds. Those who turn away from Allah and deny Allah and what He has sent and die in that state, after Allah has made Himself known to them so clearly, when such people see in the Hereafter that they will be driven to torment, they wish they had all the gold in the world and could ransom it and be saved.

Those who cannot comprehend Allah in this world will not be able to comprehend Him in the Hereafter. If they could comprehend Allah in the Hereafter, they would not think in this way and imagine ransoming Allah. Allah is the Creator, the One who creates all needs and does not need anything. People who try to give to Allah what Allah has created are people who have not realized Allah, who are still in their ego's desires, pride and greatness, and who do not believe in Allah. If they believed in Allah, they would have repented to Allah for their sins before they died in this world. They would ask Allah for forgiveness. Those who cannot perfect their souls in this world and go as kufr, not recognizing Allah, will not be able to perfect their souls in the Hereafter. Except Islam. If a Muslim follows his nafs, becomes a sinner and does not go as a kufr, if that Muslim were to enter hell because of his sin, the light of faith in him will perfect that Muslim's nafs in hell, and he will eventually come out of hell.

For those who disbelieve and pass from this world to the Hereafter without repentance, there will be a painful torment for them in the Hereafter. They will not escape the torment, nor will they have any helpers therein.

Before the Prophet (PBUH) came into the world, some tribes believed in Allah, in the Books that came before the Qur'an and in their own prophets. These were the people who had passed on to the Hereafter, living on the nature of Islam. Finally, the people who follow the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who came as Khatemen Nabi, are the Muslims.

Those who are outside of these, who do not recognize Allah, His Messengers and His Book, who are proud among their own followers in this world, and who go too far in cruelty against their own souls, will not find their followers on the Day of Judgment, nor will they find Allah's mercy in the Hereafter. They will see that all of them have drifted away from each other. On that Day when each individual soul will be alone and will have no helper, they will have pity on themselves. Even if they give a world's worth of gold, this ransom will not be accepted from them and they will be subjected to an eternal painful torment in Hell. The meaning of the world full of gold; since no creature can have such a possibility, our Lord declares that they are destined for eternal hell,

What is said in the video

Verse 91. Truly, those who deny and die as disbelievers, He says, even if any of them were to give the world full of gold as ransom, it would not be accepted. For them there is a painful torment, and they have no helpers at all. Allah Almighty is the One who created all the heavens and the earth and what is between the two. He needs nothing. The gold, the silver, the copper, the rubies, the emeralds, the pearls too, Allah created them. What does this mean? 'Even if you gave a world full of gold' — He means this: people are very fond of yellow gold, shining gold coins, golden wheat. That is, they are very fond of worldly goods.

Gold attracts a person. There are people who are carried away by the attraction of gold, they lose themselves. Some even go mad, go mad. In this case it is impossible: you may have a room full, say ten rooms full or a hundred rooms full of gold, but to have a world full of gold is not possible. If you had a world full of gold, this earth would disappear, it would all be gold ore. You have no means for this, He says. Even if you had such gold, which you cannot, you have no means for it, even then, He says, that painful torment will not be lifted from you. If you gave it as ransom, it would not be accepted.

Why? Because I am the owner of it all. And you denied Me; since you denied, not just this world full, even heavens full, if you gave these to Me, I am their Creator anyway, He says. I created you for Me, I created you to know My essence. So We never accept as ransom what We Ourselves created. Since there is no creator other than Me, you have nothing to give Me as ransom, He says. There was only one thing you would give Me: to know Me as Lord and to worship Me. Since you did not do that, now your eternal place is the fire of Hell, He says.

Yes.

Truly, those who deny and die as disbelievers, He says, even if any of them were to give the world full of gold as ransom, it would not be accepted. For them there is a painful torment, and they have no helpers at all. Allah Almighty, outwardly and evidently, that is, openly and clearly, His whole existence with proofs after having proven it, the proofs, that is, outwardly, evidently, clearly, openly, to everyone with intellect, to everyone who thinks and comprehends, to every seeing eye, He proves His existence so beautifully that it signifies there is no other god besides Him. Yes.

Allah Almighty will bring forth questions that would never occur to the human mind. After He has proven it with proofs, people will not be able to slip into even the slightest evasive denial. Allah Almighty will bring forth questions that would never occur to the human mind.

After Allah has described His essence so certainly, if they turn away from Allah, deny Allah and those Allah sent, and die in that state, in the Hereafter such people, when they see with certainty that they will be driven to torment, wish that they had a world full of gold to give as ransom and be saved.

There is torment. Now let us give an example of it here, as a counterpart. When he sees the torment there, if he had a world full of gold, he would want to give it as ransom and be saved. If you ask whether there is an example in this world, there is. A man is rich, worth trillions, (?). He spends his money on that so that he may be saved. So that he may be saved from this torment. (?), and while spending it he dies and is gone. Yes. So what will he do when he sees that torment there?

Whoever in this world could not comprehend Allah will not be able to comprehend Him in the Hereafter either. Why will he not be able to comprehend in the Hereafter? I explained it a moment ago: in their own fitra (?) they denied Allah. Denial lies in their fitra. They are waiting for the Lord of their imagination. For this reason they rebelled against Allah Almighty. No, you are not our Lord, they said. That is, they saw Allah as helpless, in helplessness. They, He says, rebelled against Allah out of their pride and arrogance. Out of their pride and arrogance. So he said: that partial part in the soul, in man there is that partial part, and in that partial part there is fame, renown, pride, arrogance, ego, haughtiness, selfishness and worldly desire, you see, because of these. Now if I said to Ahmet Efendi: I created you. What would Ahmet Efendi say at once?

You are just like me. How did I create? Yes, I was created, but, Ahmet will say. He will wait for the Lord of his imagination. Allah Almighty, too, is in exactly this situation. In the Hereafter. He recognizes them then, and at that time, since the Lord of his imagination has not appeared, his true Lord is the one who says to him: I am your Lord. Otherwise, would that Lord make him known to the one before him? He would not. So, in this case, in this case people opposed Allah. That is why they will not recognize Allah in the Hereafter either. Because their character is like that. They will be gathered blind, He says.

Look at the verse. When poor people cannot answer this verse,

they will say: see, Allah said blind, he was gathered blind. They were blind in the world too, He says. Well, are you blind in the world, gentlemen? In the world. Look, there are blind people too, but they were blind in the world as well, He says. That is, although Allah proved His existence, Allah's oneness they did not want to see. They were blind in the world too. They could not see the truth. They could not see the truth. They will be gathered blind in the Hereafter too. That is, although he sees his eternal Lord before him, he still will not be able to comprehend. He will not, that is. Because his covenant and destiny are like that.

Yes. That is why here, too: whoever could not comprehend Allah in this world will not be able to comprehend in the Hereafter. These are all what the verses correspond to. If they could comprehend Allah in the Hereafter, they would not think this way and imagine giving Allah a ransom. Allah is the Creator; He creates all needs and has need of nothing. Now where does this matter of ransom come from?

The Jews say: with children and (?), with wealth, we are rich, and Paradise is our right. With wealth, property, children and family, the wretches who (?) they will enter Paradise. Wealth, property, children, family — all of them are what Allah created. We cannot be master over anything but ourselves.

No one can rule over anyone, no one can be master. He may rule over the body, but he cannot rule over the mind. Nor can he put the mind in chains. In this case all created things, the children given to us, families, lineages, all of them souls Allah created in the realm of Lahut,

trusts given to us, to test one another, so that we prove what kind of person we are in this realm, and in this way we too are beings who will prove through our behaviour what kind of person we are. So what are we owners of — of our child, neither of property nor possessions. Everyone will be responsible for himself. Look what He does: He entrusts us to one another. So the one entrusted must take good care of the trust. He must guide it with justice. With justice. Because we come into a lost world. In this lost world He created the matter of mother and father. With this matter of mother and father, they accustom their children to that environment, raise them, remind them of their Lord and try to provide work for them.

To provide for their living in this world, within his own responsibility he tries to guide them. The decree, the decree is Allah's. Destiny, destiny is in that person's life. We cannot interfere with it. We have no rule over it. We have no rule over that destiny. Yes.

The person who tries to give Allah what Allah created, those are people who have not comprehended Allah, still in the desire of their nafs, in their pride and arrogance, who do not believe in Allah. If they believed in Allah, before dying in this world they would repent to Allah for their sins. They would ask Allah for pardon and well-being. Those who could not perfect their nafs in the world, who, not knowing Allah, departed as disbelievers, cannot perfect their nafs in the Hereafter either. Islam is the exception. A Muslim follows his nafs, becomes a sinner, but if he does not depart as a disbeliever — even if this Muslim were to enter Hell because of his sin, the light of faith in him will bring that Muslim's nafs to perfection in Hell. In the end that Muslim will come out of Hell.

What does he say? This suffering is even too little for me. A Muslim, he has the light of faith, he has gone to Hell. This suffering and hardship is even too little for me. Allah Almighty is informed of everything. O My servant, your faith has been perfected, come out of there, He says. He takes him out of there. Your faith has been perfected. But those without faith, we say, see, they have no faith, the faithless. Those outside the religion of Islam who hold various ideologies, and the polytheists, hypocrites, disbelievers who enter outside the religion of Islam, because they rebel against Allah, will stay there as their torment increases, and that faith will not be perfected.

In this case they will stay there eternally. People who pass from this world to the Hereafter as deniers, in the Hereafter there is a painful torment for them there They will not be saved from the torment either, and there they have no helpers at all. What does Allah Almighty say? In the Hereafter, when We lift Our mercy from people, the people from whom mercy is lifted have neither helpers nor intercessors there, He says. Because the people who love Allah never turned to look at the people from whom Allah lifted His mercy. Even if it was their father, their closest relative, they never turned to look.

Because they are not of them. Before the Prophet (peace be upon him) came into the world, some people rightly believed in Allah, in His book that came before the Quran, and in their own prophets. These are on the fitra of Islam. Finally, when these people followed Muhammad (peace be upon him), who came as the Seal of the Prophets, they too became Muslims. Those outside these, that is, those who do not know Allah, His Messengers and His books, who in the world, priding themselves among their partisans, go further in wronging their own selves, that is, at the Resurrection, in the Hereafter, will neither find their partisans nor attain Allah's mercy.

What does He say? Today even their friends have moved away from them and gone, it will be said. Who? The partisans of kufr from when they were in the world. They too will move away from them and go, He says. Then they see that they are all moving away from one another. Then, (?), on that day when every soul is alone and has not even a single helper, they will have wronged themselves. They will be subjected to an eternal painful torment.

In this case we say: O people, as we always say, do not waste the treasure of life. It is like squandering your treasure. If you go outside Allah's (?) rulings, every time you go outside, you squander your life like that treasure. You waste it. Then you will be asked, in this life, about this body given to you, about that wealth and property. In the end, in a realm where regret is of no use, that at the call Alastu bi Rabbikum, having had it written as your destiny and then coming to the world to prove yourself, in the verse where He says your return is to your Lord, at that supreme court, when you come before Allah Almighty, you will have no helper and no intercessor.

So use your intellect. Always, we remind people of it. Use your intellect. There is One who created us. This Creator, us aimlessly — 'come on, go to the world, live in pleasure and delight. I will (?) you as much as you like, whatever you like. I love you very much. Do what you want' — is that the one who created us?

Today, people who in those thoughts make their nafs a god and raise the flag of their own nafs. Tomorrow, at that divine command, in the presence of Allah, what answer will they give? I am a person living within the borders of the state of the Republic of Turkey. Whatever state's borders you live within, when you act against that state's laws, come here, it says. Yes, you are my citizen, it says, my citizen. But you acted against these laws, now get inside, it says. Is it right? It is right. Who did this? The state did not. That law did not. I did. I committed the crime. Well then, Allah's laws, and that this state, this world, this universe, within His living, in the places He created, you live, and if you do not recognize His laws, aimless, making your own nafs a god, did you think yourself unaccountable?

Think a little. Use your intellect. We always say it. Think a little. As you think about tomorrow, think about your Hereafter too.

Yes.
