“Will you be left here (as people who are) in safety?”

Tafsir

Prophet Salih continued to warn his people, saying: "O my people! Do you think that you will be left here as safe people? That is, you keep building palaces for yourselves by hewing rocks as if you will never die in this world. You are proud and proud of your own souls by building sturdy buildings. You continue to eat and drink and enjoy your pleasures as if you will never die, without remembering Allah and the Hereafter. All souls will taste death. Every soul will give an account of its deeds to Allah (swt), the Owner of the worlds, on the Day of Reckoning. Do you think that you will escape death in this world and stay here?

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 146. Will you be left here in security, it says. That is, will you stay in this world forever? Don't you see — is there a single person from the past left in the world? If even one had remained, I too would have nurtured hope. Solomon (peace be upon him) lived to 500, they point to him. Whereas Noah (peace be upon him) lived 1200 years; among his people he lived 960 years, and after Noah's flood he lived another 240 years, he lived 1200 years, and he too passed to the hereafter. So, since we are in the world as in a guesthouse, will we own the world? Will we stay in the world forever? This place has an Owner. What does its Owner tell us? Every soul will taste death. The inheritance of the heavens and the earth belongs to Allah.

Yes.

Continuing his warnings to his people, the Prophet Salih said: O my people, do you think you will be left here in security? That is, as if you would never die in this world, you keep carving the rocks and building palaces for yourselves. By building solid structures you live in pride and arrogance within your own selves. As if you would never die, without remembering Allah and the hereafter, you go on eating, drinking and enjoying yourselves. Every soul will taste death. Before Allah Almighty, the Owner of the worlds, every soul will give account of what it did on that day of reckoning. Do you think you will escape death in this world and remain here, he said.
