Ali 'Imran 118: Oh you believers! Do not take as confidants those outside of you. This is because they will never shy away from harming you and they want you to be in trouble. Truly, their hatred and enmity are apparent from (what comes out of) their mouths. What they hide in their hearts (hatred) however is greater. If you think and reason, We are proclaiming our verses.

O you who believe! Do not take those outside yourselves as confidants. How beautifully He says it. Now, to the believers.

Because they never hold back from doing you harm.

They always want you to fall into hardship. Indeed, their hatred and enmity are evident from their mouths, from the words that spill out. And the enmity they hide in their hearts is even greater. If you reflect and understand, We have explained Our verses to you, it says. One of our young ones had asked: why are these like this, he says, sir, um, they say it, they do it, that is, that (?), sir, he says, huh?

Yes.

O you who believe! Do not take as confidant those outside you, those outside yourselves, as confidants. "Those outside yourselves", He says; here the meaning divides into meanings. One, it means those outside your family. In the first meaning. When He says those outside yourselves. Two, it is on the side of the enemies of Islam. Three, of people who envy you, it is the case of people who harbour hostility toward you. You know, like this: do not reveal your secret to anyone, it says, your secret. Do not open your secret to those who are not of Islam. Because they are enemies to you.

Both those who are not of Islam and those within Islam who are your enemies. Aren't there such enmities? Don't you see those who pursue blood feuds? They kill one another. If you tell them something, they will broadcast you to all seven worlds. Yes, since we wrote for the general public, here we wrote briefly and moved on. Had we expanded on these, the book would never have ended this way anyway.

Because they are enemies to you. They use the secrets you revealed against you; they belittle you in front of others and humiliate you. Yes, do not take as confidant anyone other than those outside yourselves. Another meaning besides this: do not reveal your secrets outside your own relatives and kin. Because within Islam too, people whose faith is weak and who do not know how to keep a secret can reveal your secrets to your enemies. For this reason Allah Almighty commands: do not take those outside yourselves as confidants. Those who are non-Muslim, or who are your enemies, never hold back from doing you harm.

Look today, the troublemaker of the earth, the Jew, gives no peace. Is it only him? The others too, if they found the chance, would make your life hell. They never want any good to touch Islam.

The pride and arrogance in them, an egoism and grandeur; they want to see themselves above all people. For this reason, those on earth who are other than Islam never want good to come to them, they don't. Only a Muslim wants the good of a Muslim. A Muslim stands by a Muslim. As a brother. Those who are non-Muslim, or who are your enemies, never hold back from doing you harm. They watch for your weak side and want to put you in hardship. Muslim people falling into hardship is greeted by the enemies of Islam with joy. Today these events appear before our eyes. The world watches the blood shed in Palestine and, as if mocking, says "tsk tsk tsk, oh dear oh dear, blah blah blah" and brushes the matter off.

In fact they have been committing a genocide there for years. For years. They do not ask about the truth of it. No one asks. Wasn't it human rights? Was that human rights? So these, in the name of human rights. They too deceive themselves with their minds, their partial minds. If you seek human rights, you will be governed by Allah's verses. Allah, who created you, has made known to you completely His verses and all the laws you will live by on earth during your life, in the finest way, so that you will not suffer hardship. But to which person? Not to those in glory, fame, pride, arrogance and grandeur, not to them.

He makes it known to them too, but they do not accept it. Only people who know Allah as Creator, who take refuge in Him and surrender to Him and trust in Him, being governed by Allah's laws, live as the honourable people of the earth.

They do not push Allah's limits. Let me say it more plainly. That is, beating around the bush is no use. Today non-Muslims, by saying human rights, within their own selfish interests, strip women, make them stark naked, exploit them; to gain worldly things they make laws for themselves within their own ideologies. Allah Almighty, however, for all people, since all the people He created are servants He created, has laid down His laws that protect the honour and dignity of each one. So, to those who will not abide by the laws that protect that honour and dignity, look what Allah Almighty says in His verse.

They are like four-legged beasts walking on the earth. Indeed, they are even more astray in their course, it says.

Is it these, (?), who will make the law of human rights? Who are these? Those even more astray in their course. Those who walk on the earth like four-legged beasts. These will make laws to protect human rights. Well, just look at that. Yes.

Those who are non-Muslim, or who are your enemies, never hold back from doing you harm. (?)

Every moment they needle at something from somewhere, they needle like this.

They watch for your weak side and want to put you in hardship. In the verse, Allah Almighty says: work hard.

Develop your world, so that they may fear you, He says. They will become Muslim, or, He says, since they fear you, He says, you will be at ease.

But they have grasped the secret of this verse; in the world, they fight from behind fortified strongholds, He says; they have made the cannons and rifles of those fortified strongholds, and behind them, by (?), securing themselves, against Allah they try to take their (?).

If He says it, you too wake up and work. Work so that against him you (?).

Muslim people falling into hardship is greeted by the enemies of Islam with joy. Their every word needles Muslim people and spews hatred. Such words of theirs are evident from the speech of people hostile to us. These people never love Muslims, and perhaps even if Muslims love them, the enmity they harbour in their hearts is greater. Because if such people got the chance, the first people they would kill would be Muslims. In one verse Allah Almighty says: the hatred they harbour in their hearts, by biting their tongues or their lips or their fingers, He says, they try to silence. What a hatred.

For this reason the enmity they hide in their hearts is greater than what they say with their mouths. Why? All they say with their mouths reaches up to a certain degree. But that hatred in his heart, at your weakest point, is enough to topple you. What do our ancestors say? Water sleeps, the enemy does not sleep. Yes. So that in their hearts, (?), to watch for your weak side it tries. If you reflect and understand, We have explained Our verses to you, says Allah Almighty. How beautiful. Think openly, use your reason, He says. O you who believe! If you are governed by the verses, from the harm these would do you you will be safe.

Why? Hey, this one is my enemy, it is clear. Against him I prepare my cannon, prepare my rifle, sir, prepare my shelter, whatever, I take all my precautions. Because my Lord shows me what will happen. How beautifully Fatih smuggled his gunners out of the prisons; from the Byzantine prisons he brought them and cast, and how far our hand reaches, he says, they cannot even imagine, he says; imagination was at work. Then the Muslims were put to sleep.

They set out to make a car, and they say: a thing under which ground passes, over which ground passes, what will you do with it, what will you do by making it, they say. Well, blessed one, if you ride a horse, the ground passes under it, the ground passes over it; doesn't it pass, then? Today, don't you ride everywhere on that under which ground passes, over which ground passes? Yes, in this way they put us to sleep.

Because Allah commands you: be strong against such people, work hard, advance in science and technology, develop your world. If you grow strong by observing Allah Almighty's verses, perhaps your enemies will fear you, and you will be at ease. Or they will become Muslim by your (?) upon them. We have included the verse. So Allah Almighty explains His verses thus, so that you turn to the Truth, and on earth, being strong, spread Allah's (?) on earth. What was it? Why does He say so to the believers?

It supports many verses here. Which verse, Hodja? Did they think, it says, that with the blowing of their mouths they would extinguish Allah's light? Allah will keep His light until the Day of Judgment, it says. So what does He do? Become strong like this. He shows us the way. Stop this with them. Sir. Or else, you be strong. In science and technology let them envy you, and let their evils stop. And as Muslims you will spread right and justice on earth. And the earth will be in a festive air and will match Allah's purpose of creation. So on earth, against these evil ones, you become an armour, a shield, and you keep Allah's religion going until the Day of Judgment.

Many verses are gathered in this. Yes.

So that you protect the oppressed and stop the oppressor from the oppression he would commit. So that, holding together to Allah's rope, you spread His religion on earth. For if with such (?) one surrenders to Allah from the heart and lives by the rule of the verses, these people make prosperous both their world in this world and the world of the hereafter. In both worlds they will have won both worlds. May Allah Almighty grant us a fine understanding and, of His servants who understand His verses, are governed by them and surrender to Allah from the heart, make us among them.
