Tafsir
Muslims are such people that they love even those who do not love them. They fulfill Allah's commands by loving Allah's creatures for Allah's sake and treating them kindly, because of the beauty and greatness of the religion of Islam. Muslims are compassionate and merciful towards the creatures of Allah (swt).
But what is meant by love here is that although the disbelievers are enemies of the Muslims, the Muslims know that according to the verses of Allah (swt) in His Holy Qur'an, those who rebel against Him, those who deny the verses and prophets are destined for eternal hell. In this case, since Muslims do not know the fate of people, they want the disbelievers to become Muslims and avoid Hell. A Muslim does not retaliate against those who bear a grudge against Islam by cursing them in retaliation and saying, "You too will spend eternity in hell. In this respect, you love them. That is to say, you want them to enter Islam, to be saved from torment, to find life.
Those who are enemies of religion perceive Muslims who are in this beautiful thought and understanding with different views, exploit their pure feelings, try to despise and belittle them, and try to think of themselves as superior to these distinguished people by being proud of their egoistic desires. And those who are in this state of self-will are seen as wretched in the eyes of Islam, unaware of themselves, unaware of Allah, as sleepwalkers, as wretched in the eyes of Islam. Muslims do not regard such people as their equals, nor do they pay any attention to their actions. Muslims: They recognize them as the creations of Allah and wish them to become Muslims because of the light of faith in their hearts, so that those who rebel against Allah (swt) will not be persecuted and persecuted. Whereas the non-Muslims want Muslims to deny Allah and what comes from Allah.
Muslim people believe in all the books and prophets from Allah, but when they meet Muslims, they say, "We also believe". That is, they try to show themselves as Muslims. However, they are hypocrites who pretend to be believers but in fact are not believers. When left to themselves, they bite their fingertips out of hatred against Islam and the people who are Muslims. These are the people who have gone so far in their hatred and hatred of Muslims. If a person has hatred and hatred in his heart, his soul will not be reformed and perfected. Such people prefer the crooked paths to the right paths, following the footsteps of the nafs and Shaytan, enjoying themselves in the swamps, entertaining their hearts, embracing disbelief, thinking that they are living, and filling their lives with misery and frustration. Such people also have no family peace.
When such people are in this state, they do not follow the religion of Allah, which is the truth, and they become depressed because of their hatred against this religion. (Say: "Your hatred is crushing you to death.") This is because they realize that they cannot extinguish the light of Allah. Because of the rebellion caused by disbelief, they overwhelm themselves and lead themselves to destruction. This destruction is both worldly and ethereal.
(Allah, Who created the universe, did not create it in ignorance of Himself. Allah, who created every particle of the universe with His knowledge and knows all its states and states of affairs and has it under His own appearance, is aware of everything. Allah, Who created human beings and made a covenant with them one by one, is the One who writes the destiny of all human beings for them. He is the One who knows what a person will commit and what may pass through their hearts within the destiny He has written. In this respect, Allah says in one of His verses (Allah knows the secrets of all hearts). God the Creator is the One who knows and reveals the state of His creatures.
What is said in the video
We are trying to explain verse one hundred nineteen.
Here you are the ones who love them, though they do not love you. You believe in all the scriptures, but when they meet you, they say "We believe"; and when they are alone, out of their rage against you, they bite their fingertips. Say: Perish in your rage, die. Surely Allah fully knows what is within the hearts. Yes. When they meet us, they say "We believe." Believe in what? Because false speech is bound to fall silent before the truth. Surely we (?) — if his mind grasps it, in the end he stops. (?) one man said to me, "That man," he said, "that man worships Satan," he said. (?)
So I began explaining the religion of Islam so that he would hear. And he was listening from outside. I was inside, he was outside listening. Finally he couldn't hold back and came in.
"You," he said, "keep talking, but," he said, "I have a question for you," he said. "Go ahead, ask your question," I said. "What is your question?" When he said, "Is Jesus alive or not?", I understood what he wanted to ask. "Will you listen to me?" I said. "No, first you answer me," he said. "And I'll give you your answer." "Just listen to me," I said. "You will drop this anyway," I said. "No," he said. "You ask first," he said. "Say it, say it," he said.
"He is alive," I said. I already know what you're going to say. "(?)," he said. "Alive — am I to follow him," he said, "or am I to follow the one who died?" he said. "Well, (?)," I said. "I knew you would say that, that's why I said, just listen to me, I told you. So that you wouldn't be embarrassed," I said. "You know the One who created the worlds, Allah," I said. "Since you know that that prophet is alive, you also know his Owner," I said. "His Owner says," I said, "He, the Owner of the worlds: I made you alive." "The Prophet," I said, "has tasted death and is alive," I said.
"Jesus, however," I said, "has yet to taste death," I said. "He has not yet tasted death. So will you follow the one who is yet to taste death? Or," I said, "will you follow one who tasted death and who until the Last Day and after it too will be a witness over all the prophets?" I said.
He fell silent. And do you know what this man said to me?
"Come to my place," he said. "Let me show you my place." "Let's talk," he said. "Fine," I said. Later he never showed me his place. And so it passed.
So these people, in such a situation, bow their heads before the truth, but after they leave you, with the rage in their hearts they spew rage at you. One Jewish man — what? He witnessed it. He says this: "I, in my car, there in Switzerland, was touring the mountains." What mountains are they? The Alps, yes. "I was traveling in the Alps," he says. "My car flipped over. As soon as it flipped," he said, "I said Allah," he said. "I said Allah. I lost consciousness," he said. "Then I came to, I was in the hospital." "Now I'm fine," he said. "What makes me think is this," he says. "Me, say Allah? I don't say Allah," he says.
"Why did I say Allah at that moment?" he says. "What made me say this Allah?" he says. "Shall I tell you the truth," I said, "about what made you say it?" "Tell me," he said. "Now," I said, "that thing you could not solve for years — we will put our finger on it. Allah Almighty created our souls in the world of souls. And He said to us: your Lord, your Lord. There we saw our Lord. There is One who created us. We know it," I said. "There is One who created us. So they said yes. That is, they said: we know the One who created us. But because (?) resembled His Being," I said, "you denied Him. Otherwise, you became a non-Muslim, or you are outside the religion of Islam, but the end only Allah knows. Whether you (?) or not — Allah (?) the end," he said.
"There, because you heard 'I am your Lord' and you knew: yes, I was created, I have a Lord," I said, "it settled in your subconscious; and at that moment, from that subconscious you said Allah, that is, to the one who created me — you remembered your Creator and called out 'Allah.' Therefore," I said, "the Exalted Lord — look, that is there in your subconscious," I said. "But you, out of your own self or within your own will, are still denying," I said. "Look how beautifully Allah has made you prove His existence in this world," I said. Then he said, "You talk in such a way," he said, "you talk like our rabbi," he said.
"Look here," I said. "I don't talk like your rabbi. Maybe your rabbi talks like me," I said.
He said, "I'll introduce you to the rabbi." "Fine," I said. "Introduce me to the rabbi," I said. After that he came. "The rabbi doesn't want to see you," he said.
Yes.
Before moving to the translation, let us give you some explanation here.
Here you are the ones who love them, though they do not love you. Well, Hodja, doesn't this contradict this verse?
"Whoever is with them, whoever loves them, they too are like them," it says.
What does it say?
Whoever loves them, they too are like them. Doesn't it contradict the verse? In the verse. Of course, without knowledge it seems that way. It seems to contradict. But with knowledge, see how beautiful it becomes. How? İbrahim Fakrullah (?) says this: Tolerate the created for the sake of the Creator. Yes. Now, they see them as servants of Allah. They see them as Allah's creatures. They say Allah creates nothing in vain. Since the people Allah created are valuable, so that they may be set right as soon as possible, they pray for them too. The believers. What do they say? O Allah, set them right too.
Set right. Don't say "have mercy," mind you. Never. Mercy is for Muslims. For believers. What are we to say? O Allah, set them right too. Why? You love the servants Allah created because Allah created them. Allah created them. Allah creates nothing in vain. So it is not about tolerating what they do and following them, but seeing them as a human being Allah created and praying for them; that is what loving them means. Loving in that way. It doesn't mean admiring their wickedness and loving them. Yes. Though they do not love you, you love them. How do you love them? You love them as servants Allah created.
You believe in all the scriptures. But when they meet you, they say "We believe," and when they are alone, they bite their fingertips out of their rage against you. Say, it says, perish in your rage, die. Surely Allah knows what is within the hearts, that is, the secrets of the hearts. Yes. Muslims are such people that they love even those who do not love them. From the beauty and sublimity of the religion of Islam, by loving Allah's creatures for Allah's sake and treating them kindly, they carry out Allah's commands. This one is an unbeliever. This one is a non-Muslim. This one is an idolater — saying that, Allah Almighty does not give you the authority to torment him.
Everyone is free in their own view. Free in their own ideology and religion. Leküm dînüküm veliye dîn. Your religion to you, my religion to me. But there is enjoining the good. That is, there is reminding of the truth.
Muslims, toward the creatures of Allah Almighty, are compassionate and merciful.
Allah Almighty also says this in a verse: "They are very harsh among themselves," it says, toward one another.
Muslims, however, toward one another and toward Allah's creatures are compassionate and merciful. The reason? Among their people there is the light of faith.
What is this light of faith, Hodja? Believing that there is no god but Allah. Believing that all the prophets were sent in truth by Allah Almighty as messengers. That the Torah, the Psalms and the Gospel sent by Allah Almighty, three books gathered in the fourth book, the Holy Quran, are all the word of Allah — believing that. People who, within this faith, submit to Allah's commands have tasted the delight of the light of faith. These are the ones in whose hearts the light of faith is; they are merciful, compassionate and kind. The reason? Because they love Allah, toward Allah's creatures too they are compassionate and merciful.
But in a person with no love of Allah in their heart, instead of that mercy, cruelty and tyranny arise. The exact opposite. The opposite of plus. Minus. Yes.
Here we are explaining one part of love. What is meant by love here — we say, that is, that Muslims, toward the creatures of Allah Almighty, are compassionate and merciful. What is meant by love here: though unbelievers are hostile to Muslims, Muslims, according to the verses Allah Almighty made known in His Holy Quran — that those who rebel against Him, who deny the verses and the prophets, are eternally of Hell — this it makes known.
In this case Muslims want the unbelievers too to become Muslim and be saved from Hell. Muslims. As I said earlier, Allah created them, after all. What do they say? O Allah, set them right. This is where we've opened it up. This point. Set them right too. O Allah! They too are servants You created, O Allah, they say. They say it because of that light of faith, because of the mercy in their hearts. Yes.
Yes. Toward those who feel hatred for Islam? A Muslim does not, in retaliation, say "may you too stay in torment in eternal Hell" and curse him, and they do not hate him either. In this respect you love them, that is, you want them to enter Islam and (?), so it says. So you love them in this way.
Muslims who hold this beautiful thought and understanding — those who were their enemies yesterday perceive them in a different light, and exploiting their pure feelings, trying to look down on them as lowly and small, puffed up with the whims of the nafs, they try to rank themselves above these distinguished people; that is what they try.
Muslims are humble. In a person's nafs, fame, renown, pride, arrogance, selfishness, grandeur and worldly desire — these traits: because Muslims have broken such traits in their hearts, they, as in the saying of Mevlana, "be like the earth, be like the sun, be like the waters" — they become the people he spoke of. That is, in the earth there is gold, there is (?), there are rubies, there is filth. Be like the earth. Lose everything within your own heart. As the earth loses it. Be like the sun. That is, shed light around you. Enlighten people with knowledge. Be like the waters, he says. Be generous.
Generous. Be generous. Yes. So Muslims are cleansed of such traits and become humble. But people who see in themselves pride and arrogance, grandeur and self-importance — such people cannot grasp the thoughts of such mature people, and they see them as timid or sluggish or useless or contemptible, and want to establish dominion over them. Against all these feelings, that believer serves as a mirror to him. That (?) is entirely in himself, in that person.
I suppose this part is understood.
Those caught in this whim of the nafs, in the sight of Islam, unaware of themselves, unaware of Allah, (?), in the eyes of Islam are seen as (?). In the eyes of Islam. They are seen as wretched. Muslims do not hold such people as their equals, and their actions they pay no mind to either. Today, let's say, a non-Muslim can say whatever he wants to me. Because his world is a different world. To bring him onto the path you'd have to change his destiny. And that is beyond our power. So he talks about his own world. And since your world is different, you cannot come to an agreement. So: you to yourself, I to myself.
You go your way, I go mine. How nice. One doesn't even mind. Like what? Look what Allah Almighty says. They are like four-legged beasts roaming the earth, it says. As you walk down the road, a dog barks at you from behind. Do you mind it? They too keep barking like that, like four-legged ones. You don't mind them at all. You go on your way.
Muslims, knowing them as Allah's creatures, because of the light of faith in their hearts — so that those who rebel against Allah Almighty don't suffer eternal torment — wish for them to become Muslim. They still show them mercy. Whereas these people would have Muslims deny Allah and what comes from Allah. Who? Non-Muslims. Today their missionaries spend trillions. To draw people away from Islam. And how beautifully Allah Almighty says in His verse: They set a trap. We too set a trap. But We are the best of those who set traps, it says. Yes. So they are setting a trap. For what? To wipe out Islam.
And Allah too sets a trap. What kind of trap? Did they think that with the blowing of their mouths, the religion of Islam, Allah's light, they would put out? According to the verse, Allah will perfect His light until the Last Day, so if they put it out in one place, the light of Islam bursts forth in another. And they're baffled. They're baffled. In this situation. Imagine a beautiful field.
On one side, thorns.
The thorn dries up. The winds blow its seeds onto that field. You look, and (?) the field is full of thorns. Because that field was not sown or reaped. But what does Allah Almighty do? Those who blow the seeds of those thorns onto the other field with the winds — their root He removes by plowing that field. That is, in their place He raises scholars. Those scholars — according to the verse "truth has come and falsehood has vanished" — He brings all their efforts to an end. And all their efforts, their money and their very lives, well, that exhaustion — it all goes to waste.
Although Muslims believe in all the books and prophets that come from Allah, they, when they meet Muslims, "we too believe," they say. That is, they try to present themselves as Muslims. Whereas these are hypocrites who appear as believers but in fact do not believe. Hypocrites. They side with people for their own interests. If he stood to gain five kuruş from you, he'd do five thousand somersaults before you, but the rage in his heart is greater than those five thousand somersaults. Toward you.
That is why Allah Almighty shows them to us so beautifully.
Whereas these appear like believers but are in fact hypocritical people who do not believe. When they are alone, out of their rage against Islam and those who are Muslim, they bite their fingertips. These are people who have gone this far in rage and hatred toward Muslims. Toward Muslims.
And indeed, (?) what does Allah Almighty say? They do not want any good to come down to you, it says. Yes. If there is rage and hatred in a person's heart, the person's nafs is not reformed and does not reach perfection. Such people prefer crooked paths to straight paths. Following the trail of the nafs and Satan, from swamp to swamp, indulging in revelry, amusing their hearts, embracing kufr, thinking that they are living, they fill out their lives in misery and loss. Such people have no family peace either. These don't find family peace either. But according to their own way of life, among them honor, as it is in Islam, has no meaning.
Of some (?) people, by their understanding too, since they have no religion, they believe in false creeds; however much they may believe in such feelings, since they cannot raise their children on the religion of Islam, they again live by their own whims. In this respect they have no feelings for family and children or responsibilities. That is why they do studies in Muslim families. How are you able to hold on to these children, and how are you able to keep these children together as a family? They do studies. Instead of doing studies, study the religion of Islam. You'll find it very beautiful there.
Yes.
Such people never come to Allah's religion, which is the truth, and toward this religion, out of their rage, they fall into depression. Say: perish in your rage and die. From your rage. That which destroys you and drags you to death. What does Allah Almighty say in His verse? Germs are My soldiers. I send them on whoever wants. On whoever wants. This too they have explained wrongly. If you explain it wrongly, (?) the opposite. "I send them on whom I will," it says. No. On whoever wants. But would a person want illness? If you live stressed like this, if you live depressed, your body's resistance to what comes from outside decreases.
Resistance to germs decreases, and since your body has weakened, those germs you accept into your home. You accept them into your body. Earlier I pointed you to a word. I mentioned having intercourse, remember. Doing it a lot. Remember, we said that those who have more intercourse with their wife, against cancer their fight too, we said. It becomes strong. So what is this? Affection, love, longing, desire — such resistances in the human body also hold off germs coming from outside. Just like the armor a person wears in war.
Such people never come to Allah's religion, which is the truth, and toward this religion, out of their rage, they fall into depression. Say: perish in your rage and die. These states of theirs — since they realize they cannot put out Allah's light — but these states of theirs, out of the rebellion that kufr brings, destroy them and drag them to ruin. This ruin is both worldly and otherworldly. They both recall their ruin in this world, and in the Hereafter they appear like a merchant who has suffered loss and been (?), before Allah Almighty's presence. Receiving what the verse "There they are alone and forsaken" holds for them, they purchase the eternal abode of Hell.
Allah is the One who fully knows what is in the hearts, it says. Yes. Allah, who created the universe, did not create this universe unaware of Him.
He did not create this universe unaware of His Being. So how did He create it? Let us tell you from the verse. The heavens and the earth and what is between them have known the remembrance of their Lord. So, from the atom to the globe, whatever exists, Allah Almighty has had His creatures bear His sign, made them recite His name; that there is no god but Allah He made known. If this world, from atom to globe, remembers Allah,
then Allah has not created these worlds unaware of His Being. Yes. Allah, who created every particle of the universe with His knowledge, who knows all its states, and who keeps it under His own sight — just as He is aware of everything, Allah Almighty, who created people and made a covenant with each one of them, who wrote all people's wishes for them as their destiny — Allah knows, within this destiny He wrote, what a person will want and what may pass through their hearts.
In this respect Allah Almighty, in a verse: Allah knows the secrets of all hearts, He declares. Allah the Creator knows the state of His creatures and governs them.
