Translation

And when you departed from your family early in the morning to position the believers for war. Allah is the One Who truthfully hears and knows.

Tafsir

Before the battle of Uhud, in the third year of the Hegira, in order to prepare for war against the polytheists of Mecca, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to leave his house early in the morning to tell the mujahideen of Islam about the positions you would take against the enemy. Allah is aware of what you say. He is the One Who knows what you are capable of doing and what you have contracted.

(The hypocrites, who are among the Muslims and who have come with Islam to fight against the enemy, are plotting among themselves against Islam, and they will fight with Islam, then they will flee back as if they had been defeated, and they will defeat Islam. Allah, Who is fully aware of their traps and their speeches and knows their situation, informs us of their situation with this verse.

What is said in the video

You may ask your questions. Remember when, early in the morning, to station the believers for battle, in battle positions, you had left your family? Your words — Allah fully hears and knows, it says, your words.

How does this work? In this verse: before the Battle of Uhud, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), in the third year of the Hijra, to prepare for battle — to make battle preparations — against the polytheists of Mecca, left his house early in the morning and was explaining to the Muslim fighters, against the enemy, the positions you would take. So Allah is aware of these things you say; what you may do and what you agree upon, He fully knows, it says. What can you do? Because what does it say? There is not one living being to come until the Last Day of which We do not know what it will not do, it says.

The hypocrites who were among the Muslims and came along with them to fight the enemy — in the trap they had set up among themselves against Islam — would, alongside the Muslims, fight, then flee back as if defeated and rout the Muslims. Allah, who is fully aware of these traps they set and the talks they held, and who knows their states, makes known to us with this verse their situation. We'll continue further. What kind of traps they will set for them, and what they will do, and in the end, what kind of (?). In the coming verses, inshallah, we will explain these to you.
