Whoever obeys Allah and Allah’s Messenger, receives Allah’s blessing.
Tafsir
Whoever believes and perseveres in his faith, obeys Allah and His Messenger, observes Allah's prohibitions, fears Allah, does what He says, and continues in worship and piety, he will join the group of those who have attained salvation.
Allah's mercy is great. He is very compassionate and merciful to His servants. It is not in Allah's honor that a person should face Allah and say, "O Allah! If he says, "Forgive me my sins, I have repented, I promise you that I will never commit these sins again," it is impossible that Allah will not forgive him.
If a person knows and fears Allah closely and obeys Allah and His Messenger, Allah will bestow His mercy upon them and they will attain salvation. Blessed are those people who have consented to what comes from Allah in their world, who have not compromised from the line of Islam shown by Allah, who have lived by fulfilling the commands of Allah, and who have won their test in this world and have passed on to the Hereafter satisfied with their Lord and their Lord satisfied with them. May Allah grant us all such a life and such an end.
What is said in the video
And verse 132 says: obey Allah and His Messenger so that you may be shown mercy.
What is this? Obey Allah and His Messenger so that you may be shown mercy. This verse is directly — Bismillahirrahmanirrahim. Ve iz ehaze rabbüke min benî Âdeme min zuhûrihim zürriyyetehüm ve eşhedehüm alâ enfüsihim elestü bi-rabbiküm — the counterpart of that verse. As they say anyway: the confirmation of (?) verse. We made a covenant with those who would emerge from the offspring of the sons of Adam, and said: your Lord. So, O son of Adam, O people, people, there is no god but Allah. There is no god. All the prophets sent are Allah's servants and envoys, His Messengers. The last one sent, the Seal of the Prophets, Muhammad (peace be upon him), as a mercy to the worlds; gathering the Torah, Psalms and Gospel in the Quran, We sent you My Beloved, Muhammad (peace be upon him), as the last Prophet, and the Quran too, as long as the world stands, until Judgment Day, before you as a guide, a leader, a light, He says.
Well, if you know Me as Creator, and know that the Beloved of the Almighty, Muhammad (peace be upon him), is Allah's servant and Messenger. If you obey these, you'll attain mercy, He says. Mercy. But if Allah the Creator and the Prophet (peace be upon him) He sent you belittle, mock His verses, or His command you go outside of, or you live the religion of Islam and from your faith don't leave the religion of Islam, yet of Islam not a single wish, desire or command you fulfill, here He also says how you'll end up in the end. Yours isn't certain. Above all that last breath, and it may be, He says, that of Allah's mercy you go outside.
So if during your life you turn back to Allah and His Messenger, repent, and to that repentance Allah Almighty as Tawwab personally responds, and you spend the rest of your life living Islam, then if you go the way Allah and His Messenger commanded you, of attaining our Lord's mercy the likelihood is very strong. Yes.
Whoever believes and is steadfast in his faith, steadfast, obeys Allah and His Messenger, observes Allah's prohibitions, fears Allah, carries out what He says, continues his worship and obedience, these join the company of those who are saved. So our Lord promises. Whoever knows Me
embraces the books of those He calls People of the Book. All those books are within the Quran. By embracing the Quran alone, one embraces all the books. So, since Allah Almighty sent us the Quran last, since people's own ideas and ideologies got mixed into the other books, since their originals are in the Quran — if a person believes in the Quran, he'll have believed in those books Allah Almighty sent, and in the prophets He sent to them as well. This person will have believed in his Lord. Then he judges by the Sharia rulings our Lord has made known to us. If he shuns and avoids what Allah Almighty has forbidden us,
and, within our Lord's commands, on the path He showed, on that sirat-i mustaqim, so straight, as He calls it, the straight path, he goes,
if he doesn't slip off it, that is, falls from there, falls from that straight path, and goes into the middle of Hell — not the Sirat bridge, mind you; they made up the Sirat bridge like this anyway. And we will go on the straight path — on Allah's straight path that He showed we'll go; if one slips from it, he falls into the middle of Hell, comes out. I mean, what does the verse say? Beware of the fire prepared for the disbelievers, it says. You'll fall into that fire, then you go — not a bridge, but if you lose your way, you go. So they took this as a bridge, and then the one who our mental (?) shakes and the Sirat bridge abolishes, the fake (?) Hodja.
Then with the shameful things they themselves said, they look for a hole to escape into. Yes. They look for a hole to escape into, with shameful things. They can't find anything at all. If only they'd find something, ah, if only they'd dig something up. Ah, they're burning inside, burning. There's nothing to come out. Yes. The more they burn, the darker they get. The more we tell the truth, the brighter we shine. Allah's light becomes evident. Yes.
Allah's mercy is vast. He is very compassionate and very merciful to His servants.
It's not befitting Allah Almighty that if a person turns his face to Allah and says: O my Lord, O my Allah, forgive my sins, I've repented. I promise You never again to commit these sins I've committed — if he says this, it's impossible that Allah wouldn't forgive him. Who can say Allah wouldn't forgive? Who can say — the greatest sinner? A great sinner beyond your imagination. That he repents of his sin, repents, and Allah doesn't accept his sin and doesn't forgive him. That He doesn't accept him with his sin and forgive him. This is impossible.
One who raided caravans in the (?) valley, who cut off the pilgrims' roads, killed people — a bandit. This is a bandit.
His whole life spent raiding caravans and killing people. I knew his name too, but right now it's not in my memory. With his name. Harun al-Rashid's time; one day Harun al-Rashid has a dream, he sees it. By that bandit's name: he turned to Allah, asked Allah for pardon and forgiveness, and his Lord forgave him — he sees in the dream. Harun al-Rashid, the king of the time, had issued a death sentence against him. Indeed that bandit had repented, taken to the mountains, asked Allah Almighty for pardon and forgiveness. He'd distributed the fortunes he'd made to people. He comes before Harun al-Rashid and (?).
And Harun al-Rashid says: I saw you like this in my dream; against you I had issued a death sentence. Since my Lord has forgiven, I forgive too, go, he says. Out of my sight, go, he says. Yes, there is no sin Allah does not forgive; if you say He didn't forgive — our Lord says He is Tawwab: I greatly accept repentance, He says, greatly. What does it mean? However sinful you are, just turn to Allah, say "Allah", say it, and feel remorse for the evils you've done. Yes.
Look, Ender answers right away. Hodja, Fudayl ibn Iyad, he says. The name.
May Allah be pleased with you, Ender. Yes.
Him they name like this. Fudayl, he says. Fudayl. (?) of Allah's mercy. He repented. (?) That's how it's recorded.
So there is no sin Allah Almighty won't forgive. If you say Allah won't forgive, you deny the verse, God forbid. Just turn back. Because He is our Master. Take a father, for example. A father. His child is rebellious toward him. Yet the father, if he is a father, however (?) he may be, however much he shuns him, in his heart he wants him to be good.
And if that child turns back, gives up evil, becomes a good person, and people speak well of him, that father is proud. So Allah, our Master who created us, wants us too to be good like this. When we're good, it's impossible — He is our Master. He is the one who created us. It's impossible for Him to cast us off. Because we have no other creator. Nor any other door to take refuge in.
Yes.
Above: if a person knows Allah with certainty and fears, this too, when we say with certainty — we said the people of faith, didn't we — at peace: O soul at peace, well pleased with your Lord and He with you, enter among My servants, enter My Paradise — a person aware of the manifestations He speaks of. People not aware of the manifestations — what about them? They too, if by faith in the unseen Allah's commands they fulfill, reform their nafs with their lives, so that they too become aware of the manifestations.
They follow that path, that chain. If not, if he's still babbling in the same place, he fills from one side and empties from another — that's what it means. He couldn't reform his nafs. And when you step a little on his nafs — what an honorable nafs — what (?) it makes, do you know? That nafs he calls honorable. Especially when you touch his superstition a little, he turns into a ruthless head-chopper, becomes the greatest scholar in the world, sets out to defend falsehood, and over the truth tries to spread falsehood. But the more he talks, the deeper he sinks, and he doesn't notice.
Isn't that so, (?)? I suppose so; we're telling the truth.
Blessed are those people who in their world accepted what came from Allah, from the line of Islam Allah showed did not stray, carried out Allah's commands as they lived, and won their test in this world, well pleased with their Lord and their Lord with them, to the hereafter have passed on — blessed is that person. May Allah grant all of us such a life and such an end. Yes. So that you may be shown mercy. Whoever believes and is steadfast in his faith, he'll be steadfast in his faith. I know such a person, whose father raised him as a hafiz of the Quran.
He was my neighbor too. In Istanbul, in Bahçelievler, he was my neighbor.
He had finished university, a different university. Addicted to drink.
He used to say this to me. You worship, and that gets you something, he'd say. And I said to him: you drink, and that gets you something. The trust Allah gave you on one hand, sir, you ruin, and on the other, yourself as a sinner you try, sir, to send into Allah's presence. At least I, though I don't do as you do, my (?) sound I try to keep, I say. I used to say. He'd say to me: now forget about those, he'd say. Well, what shall we do? I'll save you, me, he'd say. Where? In Paradise. How will you save me in Paradise? How will you save me in Paradise? Then he'd say: what Paradise, he'd say. We'll all go to Hell, he'd say.
Well, do you have proof in hand that we'll all go to Hell? I'd say to him. Now, they've gone astray, I mean.
They've fallen apart. And so he passed on like that. So one must be steadfast in faith. Yes, he's a Muslim too. It doesn't say: you're a disbeliever. But he acts outside all of Allah's verses. So how is obedience to Allah and His Messenger to be? After faith, on the verses our Lord made known, the noble verses, on the Sharia rulings He made known, if we are steadfast, we attain Allah's mercy. In a verse too, Allah Almighty says this. When you get up for prayer, surely a laziness comes over you, He says. But still, He says, continue with patience, He says. How beautifully He says it. Continue with patience.
So after entering faith, whatever kind of disaster may befall you, be steadfast with faith. Continue in it.
Whoever believes and is steadfast in his faith, obeys Allah and His Messenger, observes Allah's prohibitions, fears Allah, carries out what He says, continues his worship and obedience — these join the company of the saved. Of course — why did Allah create us? He created us so that He would be known. Know this well. Hodja, there are so many angels, (?) beings He created. Didn't they know Him? No.
From the angels — they don't know. These are all programmed. Programmed like a robot. Well, we — we had ourselves programmed by ourselves. That is, with our own partial will we knew our Lord. Or, to Him, sir, to Him we ascribed partners. We didn't obey Him. God forbid. With what? With our own will. Allah Almighty programmed all the others. Then from His first light He created the Prophet, and since from his light this universe He created, He programmed it all, look. All programmed. But (?) from His spirit He gave to him. Then partial will passed to the Prophet. With that partial will the prophets, and from their spirits, their peoples' spirits were created.
And Allah Almighty created people to be a mirror to His Being. And left them free in their own will. And He wished that, of oneself, with that will, one's Lord be known.
Yes. Man is this honorable. As Abdulqadir Gilani also says: if man his place with Allah knew, he'd say "la mülke illa yevmelih — today sovereignty is Mine alone", he says. People are this precious. Yes. So if you knew this, if you knew your Lord and judged by His verses, by His Sharia ruling, if you fear Allah, flee His prohibitions, heartily observe what He says — then you've gotten off the hook. You've attained Allah's mercy. Well Hodja, now you've talked like the other hodjas. How? He too used to say: it gives you this much reward, that much reward. Well, now you too have decided in place of Allah.
You've made people attain Allah's mercy. I'm not the one saying it. Allah says this. Look. I'm not the one saying it. Allah says this. What does He say? Obey Allah and His Messenger so that you may be shown mercy. And what am I telling you? Judge by Allah's Sharia rulings. Flee what Allah has forbidden. If you carry out Allah's commands upon you, you've gotten off the hook, I say. I'm opening up the verse for you. Yes. And you'll attain Allah's mercy. If you avoid drink, gambling, fornication, if you avoid the forbidden, if you don't wrong anyone, and with nothing besides Allah recognize, if you continue with La İlahe İllallah, the tawhid, the testimony of faith, if by the Quran, by His Messenger you judge, if you carry out Allah's commands upon you, well, He'll surely join you to the company of the righteous.
That's Allah's promise to us.
Allah's mercy is vast. He is very compassionate and very merciful to His servants. These are all the meaning of verses. Which? Allah is Tawwab, it says. He greatly forgives repentance, it says. I'm always telling the meaning of the verses. It's not befitting Allah that if a person turns to Allah and says: O my Allah, my sins forgive. I've repented — never again. These sins I've committed I won't commit, I promise You — it's impossible that Allah wouldn't forgive him. As I said earlier, it's the attribute of repentance. There is no god but Allah for man to return to. So what does Allah say? He greatly accepts repentance, He says.
Look, we always put the meaning of the verses here in the language of speech. Then: if man knows Allah with certainty and fears, Allah and His Messenger obeys, Allah makes them attain His mercy, and they are saved. That's why I'm telling the meaning of the verse above. And the verse is like that anyway. What does it say? Obey Allah and His Messenger so that you may be shown His mercy. We always tell the verses in the language of speech. Blessed are those people who in their world accepted what came from Allah. Didn't stray from the line of Islam Allah showed. Lived carrying out Allah's commands.
And won their test in this world. Well pleased with their Lord and their Lord with them, to the hereafter
safely, (?) passed on — the person; may Allah grant all of us such a life and such an end. Yes.
That means, our whole aim, our only aim, is not obedience to Allah and His Messenger. That's not the whole aim. Within this whole aim, again out of mercy to us, Allah Almighty says: look, if you obey Him, you'll attain mercy. That is, you'll be delivered from troubles. You'll cast off the (?) in your hearts. Since there's no door to take refuge in other than your Lord, if you submit to Him, serve Him, if you obey My Beloved whom I sent, judge by his hadiths, those sunnahs, or his noble hadiths — which are the meaning of the verses — you'll be at ease in your world. At ease. He always shows us the way for our ease.
Look, today among polytheists and non-Muslims there is no ease.
Their earnings are in the trillions.
They themselves live in unrest.
This transient world is a guesthouse. Now let's consider this guesthouse like this.
You're stranded in a desert, hungry and thirsty.
You're forced to pass by your enemy's house. You're very hungry.
If you go to your enemy, he'll kill you. If you don't, you'll die on the road. What do you say? Perhaps, since I've taken refuge with him, he'll, let me put it, have mercy on me and not kill me. You say. You say it, and you become a guest at your enemy's house. Your enemy too sees that you're hungry. He spreads out his provisions before you. He took refuge in my house. It doesn't befit me to kill him in my house, he says. He gives his provisions to him, hungry as he is.
And the person is in fear every moment. I wonder when he'll do me harm? When will he kill me? Or what will he do to me? In fear. That's how the worldly life of non-Muslims is.
As for Muslims, they don't give (?) to the world anyway. He knows it's a temporary house. He has taken refuge in his Lord's mercy. In his wide world — within his own heart, he lives in a wide world. He is like the host in this world.
Yes, that's the difference between the two.
