Oh you believers! If you follow the disbelievers, they will turn you back (to your old faulty beliefs) and you will be among the losers.
Tafsir
It is narrated that in the battle of Uhud, when the false news spread that Muhammad had been killed, the hypocrites, who took advantage of this, began to tell the Islamic troops that if Muhammad had been a prophet, he would not have been killed. Come back to your old religion, go back to your friends. They say that this is why this verse was revealed.
Allah (swt) creates events so that His Verses can be better understood. In these events, the Verses sent by Allah (swt) are better understood and people's obedience to the Verses of Allah (swt) increases and they find salvation by holding tightly to the Verses. Here, although the address seems to be to the Sahabah-i Kirama, the address is to the Muslims who will come until the Day of Judgment. Here, in order to spread Islam, the religion that Allah (swt), the programmer of the universe, has sent the last and will continue to rule until the Day of Judgment, these distinguished Sahabah-i Kiram have undertaken the events that Allah (swt) has created, and they have been the actors of this scenario at the cost of their lives, so that Muslims will not fall into mistakes in the future. Just as every prophet has helpers, the helpers of the Prophet (PBUH) were these distinguished Companions. In another verse, Allah says that those who assist the Prophet are the soldiers of Allah.
If, after you have believed, you experience some hardship and calamity and turn back in laxity, you will have apostatized back to your old false religion. You will be alone in this world and the Hereafter, and you will be among the losers. Then you will have neither a helper nor a savior.
What is said in the video
Surah Al Imran, verse 149: O you who believe!
If you obey the unbelievers, you will be turned back on your heels to your old false belief, and into the state of the losers you will fall. Of the losers. Who are they? Those who boast of their nafs and desires, of their wealth, of their grandchildren and (?), of their power, those who turn their backs on Allah, those who say: if there is a paradise, we deserve it more than you, those who worship idols. If such taghut, two-legged devils, you follow them, and do what they say for your worldly interests, and turn away from Allah's command over you, you will be among the losers, it says. Isn't this loss?
In the hereafter, at the Great Tribunal, on that day of reckoning they are without anyone and alone, it says. That is loss itself: without anyone and alone. Bismillâhirrahmânirrahîm. Yes. According to a report, in the Battle of Uhud, upon the false news spread that Muhammad had been killed, the hypocrites, seeing this as a windfall, told the Muslim units: if Muhammad were a prophet, he would not have been killed. Come, return to your old religion, return to your friends, and so they began to talk. They say this verse was revealed because of this. Don't they say this in our time too? What did you find in this Islam, what is there in it?
Look, here there is life, he says, life. There are houses, apartments, yachts, mansions, come, he says, come. This world was his inheritance from his father. And with it he was lasting, with it he would remain and live. He owned an eternal life while in this world, that is why he called others to himself, saying come. What does Allah Almighty say in His verse? The inheritance of the heavens or of what is between the two belongs to Allah. Every soul shall taste death, and to Me is your return, He said.
Allah Almighty creates events so that the verses are understood better. So that, through these events, the verses Allah Almighty sent are better understood and Allah's verses are obeyed, and by holding fast to them, salvation is found. So although the address seems to be to the noble Companions, the address is to the Muslims who will come until the Last Day. As I said.
Here, Allah Almighty, who programmed the universe, the last religion He sent, which until the Last Day will hold sway, Islam, in order to spread it, the events Allah Almighty created were taken on by these distinguished noble Companions at the cost of their lives, so that later Muslims would not fall into errors, the actors of this scenario they became.
Just as every prophet had helpers, the helpers of the Prophet (peace be upon him) are these distinguished noble Companions. In this verse Allah Almighty says: those who help the Prophet are the soldiers of Allah. If, after you have believed, you see a little hardship and calamity, grow slack and turn back, you will have relapsed into your old false religion. You will be alone in this world and the hereafter, among the losers. Then you will find neither a helper nor a saviour, says Allah Almighty. Mercy is for everyone in the universe, in the hereafter only for the believer (mu'min); it does not say for the Muslim. Look, pay attention.
For the believer. Why for the believer?
If it had said for the Muslim, not a single Muslim would enter hell.
Hell would be forbidden to the Muslim. Let the Muslim commit as much evil as he likes against the unbelievers. And because he is a Muslim, he would enter paradise through favouritism. And then Allah Almighty's attribute of justice would be gone. But it says for the believer, the believer. The believer, who never turns back, who does not step outside Allah's commands, who at the cost of his life does not leave his Lord's presence, people who do not leave His command. The believers. These are (?) the awliya. In this case, mercy is only for the believers. Who will enter the gardens of paradise directly, the believers.
Glad tidings to those with the attribute of believer. He gives these glad tidings in Surah Al-Fajr too, in verses 27, 28, 29 and 30. O soul at rest! Where does the soul come to rest? What is the soul at rest? What is the soul at rest? In coming to know the divine manifestations. Well pleased with your Lord and He with you, enter among My servants, enter My paradise, the people He says that to. Yes.
