Or did you think that you will enter paradise without having the calamities come upon you also had came upon people before you? Poverty and hardship had struck them so hard and they were shaken so heavily that the Prophet and the believers with him said, “when is Allah’s help (coming)!”. Know that Allah’s help is close.

Tafsir

According to one narration, this verse was revealed about those who migrated from Makkah to Madinah, who left the homes of the Meccans and migrated to Madinah. There are many narrations about the revelation of this verse. Some say it was revealed about the hardships of the Battle of the Trench, others say it was revealed about the hardships of the Battle of Uhud. Since the Quran addresses the past, present and future, the meaning is general.

Allah (swt) puts people through many trials. A person either endures or rebels according to his covenant. During the time of the Prophet (s.a.w.) and the Prophet (s.a.w.), people spent their existence helping the poor and orphans, and at times they themselves were in need. They would starve so much that they would tie stones to their stomachs.

Those who are blessed with faith endure hardships for the sake of Allah with a sense of celebration in their hearts. The tribulations of the Companions and those who came after them, distinguished people who passed the test of Allah through jihad, hunger and poverty for the sake of Allah. We thought that we would enter paradise without being touched by what they have suffered and the troubles that have touched them.

We are in good spirits, our salary is complete, we think we are scholars with a little help and a little worship. We have become one of Allah's beloved ones. O human being! If you lose a little of your property, if you lose a little of your life, if you fall into bankruptcy and poverty, if you go hungry, if you are in need, how will your relationship with Allah be? Will you be patient?

If you put your trust in Allah with your faith, Paradise is waiting for you behind it.

(Finally, those who believed with the Prophet said from time to time, "When is the help of Allah? Know that Allah's help is near). Allah is the Provider of people's sustenance. If a person has no sustenance, his life is over and he passes on to the Hereafter.

So you should know that Allah's help is near, is in the first sense an address to the apparent. Er-rizku a'l is to be patient by saying that Allah is surely the provider of the bodies He has created, this is a test. Allah has many unknown doors. Allah opens those unknown doors for us. If we have passed on to the Hereafter, if we have been patient and faithful, Allah's help is near because the sustenance there is not like the food of this world and will be more delicious.

(Allah guides those who ask Him.) There is no god but Allah, to whom we should turn. Allah is very kind and merciful to His creatures. So whoever turns to Allah, repents and promises not to sin, Allah is All-Forgiving, All-Merciful, All-forgiving and All-merciful. Allah will show this servant the truth. He guides him.

What is said in the video

If you have any, you can ask.

Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 214: Or did you think that you would enter paradise without there coming to you what befell those who passed before you? Pay attention, Allah Almighty says.

In the realm of lahut, when our Lord created people's souls and we were honoured with the address 'I am your Lord', our Lord, who made a covenant with each of us, according to the verse 'Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are?'

So that we can prove ourselves, He will also give us these (?). He will test us with our wealth and our lives and prove to us what kind of person we are. So, did you think you would enter paradise without there coming to you what befell the ancients, that is, those who passed before? Poverty and hardship touched them so much, and they were so shaken, that finally the prophet and the believers with him said: when is Allah's help? Know that Allah's help is near. The Companions, the noble Companions, were struck so hard by that poverty, that destitution, that in that want they would press stones against their bellies.

One day they come to the Prophet, the Prophet's house is there, (?), we will fill our stomachs with this, they say; they see that on the Prophet's belly is a stone bigger than (?), and they turn back and leave. So hunger and poverty touch them so much that, O Messenger of Allah, when is Allah's help, they say (?).

According to one narration, this verse is said to have been revealed about the people of Mecca who migrated from Mecca to Medina, leaving home and hearth and (?) to Medina, they say. There are many narrations about the revelation of this verse. Some say it was revealed about the hardship suffered in the Battle of the Trench, some about the hardships suffered in the Battle of Uhud, they say. Since the Holy Quran addresses the past, the present and the future, the meaning is general.

Allah Almighty, so that His verses would be better understood, would create causes and send His verses within those causes. So according to many narrations, which is more correct Allah knows best, but those in the hardships and want suffered in these wars, those left in material and spiritual torment,

those suffering want in hunger and misery,

said to Allah and His Messenger: when will our Lord's help come? Allah Almighty puts people through many trials. These trials are within people's destiny, within the loads they are to bear. Allah Almighty does not put on that person's back a load he cannot bear. Everyone has with Allah Almighty a (?), a degree of faith. According to that degree of faith, Allah Almighty, so that those people bear witness to themselves and so that He holds them as witnesses to those around, puts them through many trials. While putting them through these trials, our Lord knows what they will do. What they will do.

What does it say in the verse? We always remind you. There is not a single living being, it says, not a single living being to come until the Day of Judgment, of which We do not know what it will do. Yes, a person, in proportion to his (?), to this either is patient or (?), we said here. We wrote it briefly here, of course. What did we say? Allah Almighty puts people through many trials; a person, in proportion to his (?), we said, in proportion to his (?). As I explained a moment ago, according to his degree of faith, without putting on his back what he cannot bear, according to that degree of faith, with his life and his wealth He tests him.

In the time of the Noblest Messenger and Honoured Prophet (peace be upon him), people spent their wealth on helping the poor and the destitute and always came to the point of being in need themselves. That is, people gave so much charity to people beyond their own needs that even from what they needed themselves, by giving to people more destitute than themselves, they would come to the point of being in need themselves. When they saw a believing brother poorer than themselves, they could not bear his situation, and what they had in hand they used to feed that brother, so that he might, sir, ease his hunger a little; they would help them.

So the Prophet (peace be upon him) says in his hadiths: if a believer cannot share the state of another, his faith has not reached perfection. And these too are surely a reckoning. What will happen? Of course they will share one another's states. Because their faith is perfect. Yes.

They suffered such hunger, it is said, that they pressed stones against their stomachs. That is, they would press stones against their bellies.

Those honoured with faith, the hardships they suffered for Allah, with a festive air blowing in their hearts, they would bear. Now, I wonder, which of us, if we went hungry, would, trusting in our Lord, live that festive air? Well, Hodja, how can there be a festive air in hunger, could you explain it to us a little?

Because their nafs had reached perfection, that is, because their faith had reached perfection, in proportion to the hunger they suffered, (?) they know that Allah is the guarantor of provisions. Holding on to the means themselves and leaving the decree to Allah, they know that they are in a test, and within this test, binding their hearts to their Lord, trusting in Allah, waiting for the provision to come from their Lord, in His love and affection, being content with Allah Almighty, those people would be patient with what came from Allah, like this. In a festive air. They knew that they were in a test.

To pass this test in the best way, they would bind their hearts to their Lord and in that way be content with what came from Allah.

Yes.

The hardships of the noble Companions and those after them: jihad for Allah, distinguished people who passed Allah's test with hunger and misery.

Yes.

We read this part once more. The hardships of the noble Companions and those after them, that is, of the Tabi'in and the Tabi' al-Tabi'in: jihad for Allah, distinguished people who passed Allah's test with hunger and misery. After the Tabi' al-Tabi'in, the people who will come until the Day of Judgment and continue in this way on the same path, with the same faith, on the same path, distinguished people. Did we think that we would enter paradise without what they suffered and the hardships that touched them touching us too, we say. Did we think we would enter it? Surely a bit of those hardships will come to us too.

(?) I fell into such wretched situations, I am telling you what I went through. I was exposed to such hardships that I forgot how to laugh. When people laughed I would say, how are they laughing? How are they laughing? Because I had forgotten how to laugh. We were exposed to such hardships. But we never compromised on Allah. And we were content with what came from Him. We bound our hearts to our Lord. We didn't even notice how the times passed. Yes. This is through our Lord's tests upon us.

We are doing (?), at our ease. We are at ease. Our salary is complete. With a few pennies of help and a little worship, we thought ourselves scholars. That we had entered among those Allah loves. So we think. O man, if you suffered a little loss of your wealth, if your life were diminished a little, if you fell into want through bankruptcy, if you went hungry, if you came to the point of being in need, how would things be between you and Allah, I wonder? Have you ever thought about this?

What do we say? If you suffered a little loss of your wealth, a little diminishing of your life, if you fell into want through bankruptcy, if you went hungry, if you came to the point of being in need, how would things be between you and Allah, I wonder?

Would you be able to be patient? So if you trust in Allah with your faith, paradise, hidden behind this, awaits you. Paradise.

The prophet and the believers with him said from time to time: when is Allah's help? Yes. Know that Allah's help is near. Allah Almighty is the giver of people's provision. If a person has no provision, that person's lifespan has run out and he passes to the hereafter. So, in the first meaning, where He says know that Allah's help is near, it addresses the outward. El rızkı Teâlâ Allah. He is the giver of provisions.

He gives the provision of the bodies He created. It is being patient by saying: this is a test. Allah has many unknown doors. Allah Almighty opens those unknown doors to us and gives us our provision. In another meaning, a thousand years of this world are like one day of the hereafter; if we went to the hereafter with faith, being patient, since the provision there does not resemble the foods of the world and will be offered to people (?), since it will be offered, Allah's help is near, He decrees. That is, if a thousand years here are like one day of the hereafter, if a lifespan is normally 60 to 65 years, a person has a life in this world of something like an hour and a half.

So according to this time our Lord says that Allah's provision is near. Well, this is for those who will enter paradise. To hell, that too is near. Why? He too will fill his belly with zaqqum. Yes. Allah guides to the right path the one who asks Allah. Yes. Of this, the right path, if we said He shows the right path, it would be more correct. We are correcting those parts. He shows the right path. Yes. Anyway, in the verse it has been interpreted wrongly.

We are correcting those verses that have been interpreted wrongly. Yes.

There is no god other than Allah that we should turn to; Allah Almighty is very compassionate and merciful toward what He created. In this respect, whoever turns to Allah and repents and promises not to commit sins, Allah Almighty is Ghafur and Rahim. He is forgiving of sins and merciful. And Allah shows this servant of His the right path. He shows the right way. He brings him to guidance. By showing the right way. And that person attains guidance. Yes.
