Tafsir
When the hypocrites talk to people and leave, when they turn away and go away, they work to create mischief in the earth. They work to drive a wedge between people, to make people turn against each other and to harm them. They destroy the crops. Although the literal meaning is given in the verse, what is meant here by crops has several meanings;
The first meaning is the implied meaning, which refers to the crops in the field. Another meaning is that the hypocrites destroy or scatter them after a work has been done. The real meaning is that Allah (swt) compares people to a field of crops and says that the hypocrites strive to turn people away from their beliefs and corrupt the generations. Allah (swt) says in His verse (Allah does not love the corrupters). Those who engage in these behaviors, those who work to turn the younger generations away from the religion of Islam, will have no share of Allah's mercy in the Hereafter, nor will they have any helpers to help them.
What is said in the video
We had stopped at Surah Al-Baqarah, verse 205, at that noble verse.
When he turns away, when he goes, or when he takes charge of an affair, he strives to spread corruption on earth, to destroy the crops and ruin the generations. Allah does not love corruption, it says. In the verse. Who are these hypocrites addressed with 'when he turns away'? When they take charge of an affair, they drown the land in corruption. That is, they (?). They drown it in corruption. Why? They drown it in corruption. They do not believe in the Hereafter or in Allah. They never come to the bright path that the religion of Islam has shown people. They judge by their own reason. Indeed, a person who submits everything to his own reason is like the legless who wear an artificial leg, who sets out today to change what he did yesterday; according to the words of the one who said this, these are the people who judge by their own reason and drown the land in corruption.
Yes. They are far from the verses of Allah. Those who judge by their own reason. Those who drown the land in corruption whenever they take charge of whatever they wish. They cannot see the right path. Because they cannot see it, they always take tangled paths. Why do they take a tangled path? Because they are very attached to this world. They shrink from nothing for their own interests. So they disregard people's rights and law, and for their own interests they spin all kinds of intrigues. And they cannot easily get out from under these intrigues; that is how they drown the land in corruption. How beautiful, it is all bound up with religion.
Once you move away from Allah, once you move away from the verses, all of these, with people's own carnal feelings, they enter (?), they enter darkness.
Now, when I said they enter darkness, a verse came to my mind. Verse 17 of Surah Al-Baqarah came to mind. Our book is not here. Let me look it up for you from here. Verse 17, sir, let's see what we say in verse 17.
It says: their case, the case of the hypocrites, is like a fire burning on a dark night, it says, the case of the hypocrites. What is it? Like a fire burning on a dark night. They are already in their dark misery. They have (?) the verses of Allah, as I explained a moment ago. See, our words always confirm one another anyway. Sir, it is like a fire.
When the word of Allah is told to them, it holds a light before them. The word of Allah holds a light before the hypocrites. When the fire lights up its surroundings, now these, by these I mean those who interpret the Quran wrongly, who say 'I have knowledge' and the superstitions, the verses of Allah with superstitions, sir, fit into their minds; what does it wrongly say? Allah immediately takes away their light and leaves them in darkness, it says. Allah, Allah! Allah Almighty has already sent His light. Pay attention. Allah Almighty sent His light so that you would judge by it. In that case, how are you ascribing attributes to Allah?
That Allah would take away His light and leave them in darkness? Can that be? Can that really be? And so the people who know these things this way, as I also said a moment ago, those who build a building (?) on a mole's burrow will of course talk nonsense. That is, they will be finished. They will be finished before the truth.
And when he sees that his own existence is finished, that the plane tree of a century has fallen, what will he do? To keep it standing, he will attack the one opposite him. He will attack the truth. But wherever he attacks from, if he attacks, his falsehood, as in 'the truth has come and falsehood', will also (?) vanish. Yes. Yet look at the meaning of this verse, look at its translation now. What do they say? Those who extinguish the fire, that is, who extinguish that light of Allah, who follow their own reason and turn their backs on the verses of Allah, leave themselves in darkness.
They no longer see.
What were we explaining a moment ago? As captives of their carnal feelings, in all kinds of intrigues, and because they love worldly goods so much, to obtain worldly goods through these intrigues they commit many crimes and wrongs. As they commit these crimes and wrongs, they sink. The more they sink, the deeper they sink; they leave themselves in such darkness. Yes.
Now what are we doing? Once he takes charge of an affair, to spread corruption on earth, they strive to destroy the crops and ruin the generations, it says. Destroying the crops. In the first sense, the meaning of destroying the crops is the harvests in the field, so to speak; it also means that he destroyed those. Because they also do away with people's food. They also do away with their (?). How do they do away with it? How do they, Hodja? Truly, famine begins in their time. Want begins. Because they rob the state treasury, take it for themselves, leave it dependent on outsiders, and want begins.
Want. Your electricity doesn't come, natural gas doesn't come, this and that doesn't come, your (?) don't come, nothing comes, it just doesn't come. That is how they lay the crops waste. This is the first meaning. The outward meaning, since they judge by their own reason.
In fact, the real crop, whose generations will continue, is the human being. Human beings were created for that. So he tries to ruin its generations. What does he do?
They resort to various ways to do away with the religion of Islam. Various ways.
Our business here is not politics. So I don't really want to get into politics, but we, as Muslims, have an Islamic culture. Before the child goes to school, we first send him to a Quran course. That child learns the Quran. The child learns the Quran. The Quran opens a person's mind. His mind. But those who would ruin the crops, those who will not (?), say: yes, I don't want your child to go to a Quran course. Let him go after the age of 12, they say. After the age of 12 you can neither send that child to the Quran nor teach him anything. That is how they lay the crops waste. These are the crops.
They ruin the generations. Yes. That is why, look what Allah Almighty says in His verse. Pay close attention to this. Whatever you are, We bring over you rulers like that, it says. So be very careful about the rulers you put over yourselves. Be very careful. The one who lives the truth and the one who does not. And those who see the ones who live the truth and those who follow behind them, those who do not live the truth, some who follow their own culture, from us, for the sake of exploitation, people who do not want to rally people behind them by speaking for the public, be wise.
They are all our brothers; the people living in this homeland are our brothers. When we say our brothers, we are people coming from the same homeland, the same lineage. Nobody here excludes anybody. But if we are to spread truth and justice on earth, and Allah Almighty, His Messenger, says: spread truth and justice on earth, if we are to spread truth and justice on earth, according to His verse that says: let there be among you people who teach truth and justice, then if there are people who teach truth and justice, we are obliged to put them at our head. Even if we don't like it. Even if it touches our pocket.
Even if we are wronged. But let the word of the truth raise that flag. Let it rule. Behind those who will make it rule, those who will make it rule, we must stand. Yes. Whatever you are, We bring over you rulers like that. According to that verse, do not be mistaken. So the hypocrite who appears (?) then ruins the crops and lays them waste. Didn't we live through it? We lived through famines. We became (?). We went from door to door. Black money was laundered. Well, was there a magic state? These ones, these people raised this state up. So they are children of the homeland. You will see these well and know them.
Those who do the work and those who don't. He who does not learn from his past is a fool, says (?). We will learn from the past. Our lesson is not politics; that is enough. Sir, In that case what does it say? They strive to destroy the crops and ruin the generations. Allah does not love corruption, it says. We explained this outwardly, in the first sense, in the second sense, in our (?) commentary. Now let's read what we wrote in our commentary and move on. Let's read that part too.
When the hypocrites have talked with people and parted, when they turn and go, they strive to stir up corruption on earth. To set people against each other, to make people destroy one another and to harm them, they work. Especially against Islam. They destroy the crops. Although the outward meaning is shown in the verse, the crops here are meant in several senses, we say. We explained them already. Let's read it here too. The meaning pointed to first is that the crops in the field are meant. You know, the products that are produced vanish. They go to the black market, so to speak. Because nothing comes from outside. The crops do not grow.
Everything becomes (?) as far as it can. Money loses its value. People suffer want.
Another meaning is that, when something has been made and come about, the hypocrites ruin it or scatter it. Its real meaning: people resembling a sown field; Allah Almighty, the hypocrites strive to turn people away from their faith and to ruin the generations, He declares, it says. So Allah Almighty says in His verse: Allah does not love the corrupters. He declares. Those who are among these (?), who work to turn the generations away from the religion of Islam, in the Hereafter, just as they have no share in Allah's mercy, they also have no helper at all to help them. If these people pass on to the Hereafter as hypocrites, Allah Almighty's attribute of mercy is lifted from them.
The attribute of mercy is lifted from them. And according to the verse that says they are there forsaken and alone, from Allah Almighty, as people whose mercy has been cut off, they are driven into eternal hell, into hell.
We don't say they go. Pay attention. They are driven.
Words have many meanings. Under the word 'driven' lies: they are like the four-legged ones that walk the earth. It corresponds to that verse. And the four-legged ones that walk the earth are animals. People drive animals. The drivers are people. They are driven. So that means, outside the attribute of being human, they, by those charged with it, since they are destined for eternal hell, are driven into hell. They, it says, show that they will enter hell, but (?) they throw themselves to the ground. Their eyes bulge out like the blue of the sky, it says.
Then We throw them in through the (?) gate of hell, it says. We have them thrown. They are thrown in from there by (?). Pay attention. I say it again. There is no such thing as the Sirat bridge. If there are new listeners, don't be surprised: there is no such thing as the Sirat bridge. If there were a Sirat bridge... Before Allah Almighty everyone is obliged to give account; without giving that account no one meets punishment, because Allah Almighty says: what you have earned is your own recompense; there are verses: today no one is wronged. What is it? Today no one is wronged. Everyone receives in full the recompense of what he earned, it says.
So then, if without bringing him into the divine presence, not a Sirat bridge but hell's (?), you make him fall into (?), would you not have wronged him? Without his account being seen. Pay attention.
That is why we some sayings that have settled in our religion like this, these sayings, as hadith, as verse, we do not present them, but it is a fine saying. A fine saying. Why do I call it a fine saying? Sirat-i mustaqim. If you leave a straight path, you fall down from there. That is, you go to hell. Sirat-i mustaqim, look. The straight path. If you leave the right path. They took this and made it a bridge. Some crossed the bridge on a horse, some like a bird, some (?), some like lightning, some got caught on thorny bushes, some from there fell; they made up words full of such and such here, they said them, that is, people did.
But they frightened people to bring them to the right path. Yes.
