Ash-Shu'ara 158: Upon this, punishment seized them. Verily, there is a great lesson in this, but most don’t believe.

Translation

Upon this, punishment seized them. Verily, there is a great lesson in this, but most don’t believe.

Tafsir

Thereupon the people of Thamud perished. They have fallen on their knees like a field of crops.

This is the state of those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, those who disbelieve in Allah. And the wretched end of those who do not give thanks to Allah by associating partners with Him. In this there are great signs for mankind. Allah (swt) is teaching people what happened to the past tribes like a teacher of history. But if people learn and at the same time deny the teacher who taught them and do not listen to him, their end will be destruction.

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 158. Thereupon they, the punishment seized them. Indeed, in this there is a great lesson, but most of them do not believe. What lesson is there? As I explained a moment ago. A person would ask Allah Almighty for a miracle. And if Allah Almighty shows you that miracle and you are still in doubt and do not believe, then that punishment seizes you. Thereupon the people of Thamud were destroyed. They collapsed on their knees, the way a field of crops collapses, and stayed there. With a single cry they sank down onto their knees. And in some excavations, skeletons on their knees were found.

Yes. This is the state of those who do not believe in Allah and the hereafter, who deny Allah, who associate partners with Allah and are not grateful: their painful end. In this there are great lessons for people. Allah Almighty, like a history teacher, teaches people what befell past peoples. But if people both learn and deny the teacher who teaches them and do not listen to him, then their end is a terrible destruction.
