Translation

Their brother Lot had said to them, “won’t you abstain (from rebelling against Allah)?”

Tafsir

Hadrat Lot (peace be upon him) warned people as other Prophets had warned people, saying, "Will you not avoid disobeying Allah?

Since this people was a people who did not recognize Allah and the Prophet and who followed their own desires, Allah warned them through their brother Lot (peace be upon him) and ordered them to turn towards the Truth. Hadrat Lot (peace be upon him) said: O my people! Do you not disobey Allah, the Creator of you and the Owner of the worlds? He is the absolute owner of all these worlds and the creator of all this creation. He said, "He is the Lord of you and of me.

What is said in the video

Surah Ash-Shu'ara, verse 161. Their brother Lot had said to them: "Will you not beware of opposing Allah?" All the prophets use the same words to their peoples anyway. "We are trustworthy messengers sent to you by Allah." "Will you not beware of opposing Allah?" "When you seize, do you seize like tyrants?" "Do you not respect people's rights?" "When you sell, do you weigh short, and when you buy, do you take more?" he says. That is, he always invited them to justice, to the truth and to honesty. But if rebellion against Allah was in their destiny, they could not escape the punishment either. So our brothers had said to them, "Will you not beware of opposing Allah?" Lot (peace be upon him), too, warned the people as the other prophets warned them, and said, "Will you not beware of opposing Allah?" Since this people, recognizing neither Allah nor a prophet, was a people that followed its selfish desires, Allah Almighty warned this people too through their brother Lot (peace be upon him) and commanded them to turn to the truth.

Lot (peace be upon him): "O my people, will you not beware of opposing Allah, who created you and is the Owner of the worlds? That Allah who is the absolute Owner of all the worlds and the Creator of all that exists. He is your Lord and mine too," he said. He explained the truth to them.
