When any chapter (of the Qur’an) is sent down, a group from them say; “Whose faith from you did it increase?” But it (this verse) increases the faith of the believers and they cheer!
Tafsir
Some of them, the hypocrites and the disbelievers, say to the Muslims when a surah is revealed: Which of you has this increased your faith? This shows that they are disbelievers, that they do not believe in Allah, nor do they believe in the verses of the Qur'an, the Word of Allah. In this way, they prove to themselves and others that they are disbelievers. As for those who believe. They, too, rejoice when they receive an Ayah from Allah, learn what they do not know, find solutions to their problems, and learn what they need to do to earn the Paradise that Allah has promised for the Hereafter.
This is the difference between the disbelievers and the people of faith. One does not believe in Allah and the Hereafter, so he turns his back on the word of Allah. The other believes in Allah and the Hereafter and strives to learn what is needed to earn a living there and to fulfill their duties to their Creator. Surely, in the sight of Allah, two different societies will not be treated the same.
What is said in the video
Surah At-Tawbah, verse 124: whenever any surah is sent down, that is, of the verses, Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah An-Nisa, let us say Surah Al Imran, that is, whenever any surah is sent down, some of them, it says, that is, some of those disbelievers say: which of you has this increased in faith? Look at the person's hostility toward Allah Almighty, look at his hatred. As for those who believe, this surah increases their faith and they rejoice. The Muslims rejoice. When they see the surah, that right to life in the surah, the peace it has given them, the Muslims rejoice. As for the disbeliever, despite seeing the truth, their ears, according to the verse that says Hatemallahu alâ kulûbihim ve alâ sem'ihim ve alâ ebsârihim gışâveh, ve lehüm azâbün azîm, a veil over their eyes, so as not to see the truth, a veil over their eyes, a plug in their ears, their hearts by Allah Almighty sealed at their own wish and desire; in this state they, when they hear the word of truth, it says, become as if the clouds in the sky would burst, it says; and in this state they voice their rebellion like this: which of you has it increased in faith? A group among them, hypocrites and disbelievers, when a surah is sent down, say to the Muslims: which of you has this increased in faith?
By speaking this way, these people show that they are disbelievers, that just as they do not believe in Allah, in the verses of the Holy Quran, the word of Allah, they do not believe either; and they also make those around them and Allah witnesses against themselves. They make themselves prove what kind of people they are.
In this way they will have proven that they are disbelievers, both to their own selves and to those around them. As for those who believe, they rejoice when a verse comes from Allah.
They learn what they did not know, find remedies for their (?), their difficulties, and about what they must do to earn the Paradise Allah has promised for the hereafter they gain knowledge. Within the verses of Allah. This is the difference between the disbelievers and the people of faith. One does not believe in Allah and the hereafter, and for this reason turns his back on the word of Allah. The others, believing that Allah and the hereafter exist, to learn what is needed for gain there, and to fulfil their duties toward their Creator, are people who strive. Surely, in the face of this, in the sight of Allah these two different communities will not receive the same treatment.
