Yunus 18: They leave Allah and worship things that cannot harm or benefit them, and they say; “These are our intercessors by Allah’s side.” Say; “Are you informing Allah about something in the heavens and the earth that Allah cannot know about?” No! Allah is exalted above that which they associate with Allah.

Leaving Allah aside, they worship things that can bring them neither harm nor benefit, and they say: these are our intercessors with Allah. So are you informing Allah of something in the heavens and on earth that He does not know? Far from it — He is far above and exalted beyond what they associate with Him, it says. Yes, Allah Almighty, as I always say, sent us to a hidden world.

Why did He send us to a hidden world? Because He showed His essence at that address of Elestü bi-Rabbiküm. He showed it. It says He stood upright once more in His true form, doesn't it — they say it's Gabriel the Trustworthy; it is Allah Almighty. In that case, Allah Almighty, who created people like His essence and gave them a part of it, in human form appeared to people; so people: "My Allah, You — we saw You as like ourselves, that is, we saw You as a human; so as the Creator we could not believe in You; had You sent us to a world where Your essence is not seen, we would have worshipped You there" — lest you say this, He says, We created these worlds for you.

This hidden world, too — He sent us to a world where His essence is not seen. So with what quality do you shape Allah's creations with your hand, say that is His spirit, and go and worship it?

Allah Almighty says Satan is your enemy. Let him not strip you and leave you naked as he stripped your forefather, your father Adam, He says. Yes.

Satan lays traps on the roads that lead to Allah. He keeps people from going to Allah. Of course, those whose character suits him take Satan as their sheikh. But to those whose characters don't suit him — Allah Almighty, in His verse: the temptation Satan will give you is ignorant. How ignorant? It runs up against Allah's verses. It becomes clear that it is Satan's temptation. And that person does not follow Satan's temptation.

Let's read the verse again. Let's continue.

Leaving Allah aside, they worship things that can bring them neither harm nor benefit, and they say: these are our intercessors with Allah. Say: are you informing Allah of something in the heavens and on earth that He does not know? Far from it. He is far above what they associate with Him. Far and exalted. The game Satan and the nafs slyly play on man — man, since it suits his own business and interests, takes sides in this game, and the idols they made with their hands will supposedly intercede for them with Allah, so to these idols they bow in worship.

Yes.

Look, we say, at the ignorant idea these people hold. Know that Allah exists. Leave Allah aside, and the idols you carved with your hands and worship as god, which are in no position to bring them either benefit or harm — associate them as partners with Allah and tell us: these will intercede with Allah.

Is this something an honourably created person, a mind honourably given to man, would say? That is why Allah Almighty says they are like four-legged animals roaming the earth, doesn't He — like four-legged ones. They, it says, against the truth, had a veil drawn over their eyes, had their ears made heavy and their hearts sealed. So these are blind, deaf, their hearts are sealed. For them there is a painful punishment, it says. So in this case, if people of this kind are like four-legged animals,

if they are like them, or even more astray — and in some (?) they are more astray. Allah Almighty carries out on those four-legged ones all the actual workings He will do, and although every created creature, within Allah Almighty's actual workings, does its duty fully and flawlessly — although that animal does it fully and flawlessly — man, free in his own thought, free in his own will, and though equipped with the blessing of reason given to no other being and with feelings, does not, like that animal, do the duty the animal does, but as a being that opposes Allah and rebels against Him — I no longer say human, as a being — he is of course lower even than those four-legged ones.

Yes. Because man was created the most honourable above the worlds. That is, he is the most honourable of all these created worlds. The reason: Allah Almighty gave man a part of His spirit. So people were created honourable above the worlds.

Man forgets the rank he was created in, this loftiness of his. Even animals do not rebel; carrying out Allah's command, they fulfil their duty — and if you, despite being created honourable with your own will, turn your back on Allah, of course you fall into a state baser even than those four-legged ones.

And if you carve Allah's creations, associate partners with Allah and to those idols bow in worship, of course you wrong your own self. So in this case, if man does not take revenge on his own self, on whom does he take revenge? Did Allah take revenge on him? Yes.

Look at the (?) these people think. Know that Allah exists, leave Allah aside — the idols you carved with your hands and worship as god, which are in no position to bring them either benefit or harm — associate them with Allah as partners and tell us: these will intercede with Allah. Would a person with reason believe in these? A person with reason. They themselves don't believe it anyway; purely out of their grudge and arrogance toward Allah they behave this way. They regard worldly life as booty. They commit every kind of vileness as their nafs wishes. Content that in the hereafter no wrong will touch them — or if it does, content with a few days of it — they live worldly life as they please.

What do the Jews say? In the hereafter no more than two or three days of hellfire punishment will touch us, say the Jews. How beautifully Allah Almighty answers them. Do they, it says, have proofs in their hands? Do they have a proof? On what basis do these poor souls say it? Because they know nothing of Allah's attribute of Godhood. Because they know nothing of tawhid. They call Ezra the son of Allah. And since Ezra came from among them, they say we too are sons of Allah. We are Allah's close ones, they say. And for that reason, for Ezra's sake — not for Allah's sake, but for Ezra's sake — no more than two or three days of punishment will touch us, they say.

Tomorrow at the Great Court, Hazrat Ezra (peace be upon him) too will be a plaintiff against them. Yes.

In this world's life they carry on their (?) amusement. When they pass to the hereafter and see it is not at all as they thought, they suffer loss. Thus Allah, openly, with His verses, to people (?).

To people who are among such people, say: are you informing Allah of something in the heavens and on earth that He does not know? The heavens and the earth and what is between them know the remembrance of their Lord — according to that verse, all these particles, the atoms in the particles, the nuclei, the cores, the plus and minus cores, while spinning around their own axes, make a sound. We don't hear it. Thus Allah Almighty has His essence, as He willed, remembered by these. What's the reason? The reason is to symbolise that there is no god but Allah. A factory puts out a product. It says Lassa. This is Lassa's, that is, Sabancı's product.

Koç too puts out a product. It too has put its emblem on it: this is so-and-so's product. So Allah, by having all the created particles of the heavens and earth and what is between them, not made by human hand, remember His essence, particle by particle — that there is no god but Allah, that this whole universe was created by its Lord, and that this whole universe submits to its Lord and remembers Him — how beautifully He explains this to us with His verses. In that case, with Allah it is like this anyway. If Allah had a spouse, a partner, an equal, one would take what he created, the other what he created, (?), so this universe, this universe was created by a single Creator, and created firm. What does that Creator, our Lord Allah, say? We created these worlds firm, He says. Well, Hodja, the Hour is going to come, isn't it? The Hour you will bring about with your own hands, He says, and please, as we always explain: the ozone layer you tear and tear with perfumes, then with the sun's ultraviolet rays the (?) at the North Pole starts being wiped out, then the earth's rotation around its own axis decreases, and since it will keep decreasing, the earth will reach a certain zero point; after that the sun setting in the west and rising in the west will happen, the reverse rotation will begin, and the earth, left adrift, because of its own centrifugal force will explode.

It will explode. We're telling you the order of the verses. We're telling not the signs of the Hour as signs, but the verses of the Hour. When the mountains, it says, pass like clouds, when the sky flows like molten metal, when the seas swell, when the earth throws out what is inside it. How beautifully it says it. How will the earth throw out what is inside it? The earth, left adrift, spinning fast around its own axis — while it spins around its own axis, suddenly an explosion will occur. When you spin something around itself too much, because of centrifugal force it bursts. And when the earth's magma layer comes out from under the seas, the seas will of course swell. Yes. When the balance of the universe is upset, an endless flow of all these galaxies in the air will begin.

And because of this flow, friction will occur. Arising from this friction, rocks (?), metals (?) will flow like molten metal. They will flow from the heat. How beautiful. He created from knowledge, Allah Almighty speaks from knowledge. Yes.

Everything rests on knowledge.

So those who, though they have no knowledge about Allah, in their own minds associate as partners with Allah what they made with their hands and invented as religion, and call objects Allah did not make known to them their intercessors with Allah — who is more unjust than these people who, without knowledge, invent lies against Allah? Far from it — Allah is free from what they invent, and He is most exalted. Yes. In the heavens and on earth, and what is created between the two, all these created beings, whatever beings there are, He is aware of them all, and all of them are Allah's creations and are under Allah's knowledge and power. As I said a moment ago, the atomic nuclei inside those particles, those cores, while spinning around their own axes, give off a signal. It both makes a sound, remembering Allah, and gives off a signal. So every particle of this whole universe was created within a frequency. Through those frequencies Allah Almighty is the receiver of all, aware of all of them.

Our minds can't grasp this. Look what it says. If I asked you: is Allah Almighty, in every particle of the universe, present and watching? You'd say yes. But when I put it in this scientific way, you'd say this man has gone astray. If every particle remembers its Lord, if in every particle there is a frequency, if in every particle its movement, its wish, its desire appear in our Lord, and if the universe He created with knowledge this man proves with knowledge, bringing out Allah's greatness — when you say aware in every particle, when you say present and watching, you say yes to that, so why do you say no to this?

Yes. So how far people are bound by superstitions, or how far they understand the Quranic verses, comes out nicely.

Such people say what Allah did not say: those unaware even of themselves, those that can bring them neither benefit nor harm, they say, are with Allah their intercessors, imputing guilt to Allah; from what these people say, He is free and most exalted. Though Allah and the Messenger did not say it, than those who say Allah and His Messenger said so — who is more unjust? For example, they ask us about hadith. Hodja, is this a hadith? No, son, we say. Why do we say no? Because it doesn't agree with the verses. This man denies the hadiths, he says. He denies the hadiths. They say this.

I don't deny hadith. Hadith are the words the Prophet (peace be upon him) spoke in the light of the verses. According to the verse "He does not speak idly", every word he said corresponds to the verses; that is hadith. Those who, with people's fabrications, with (?) into hadiths, ascribe attributes to the Prophet, who slander him, who take them for hadith, take them for hadith, unaware that they slander the Prophet — poor people. They know neither about themselves nor about the hadiths. They themselves are sleepwalkers. How do we know? They narrate three or four hadiths. And the three or four hadiths contradict one another.

They call those hadith too. With narrations. For heaven's sake, a hadith is only one. It corresponds to the verses. How can you call these hadith? Well then, you're quite the sleepwalker.

When I say it like this, don't take offence. Why not take offence?

Learn. Let's learn. If I'm saying something wrong, let him teach me. I don't take offence. You say: you're lying, you're saying it wrong — and I'll tell you: if you enlighten me about the verses now, I'll kiss your hand. I really will kiss it. I become the slave of whoever teaches me one word. Of whoever teaches one word. Come and teach me. If I insult you like this, then you too: Why is this man insulting me? Because I called something that isn't hadith a hadith to this man, out of his love for the Prophet he is right to insult me — say that, I mean. Say that.

Yes. But as long as that pride, that arrogance, that whim of the nafs is in them, there are lales on their necks, lales. They cannot bow their necks to the ground. Allah Almighty mentions it in Surah Ya-Sin. On their necks, it says, there are lales. Do you know what a lale is? On the necks of wolf dogs they put, made of nails, like this, nails — a ring made of nails like this; they put a ring on. So that when it fights wolves, the wolf can't go for its neck and strangle the animal. So on their necks too there are lales of nails like this; he cannot bow his neck to the ground.

Allah says this. Out of their pride and arrogance, He says, out of the grandeur of their nafs. They cannot bow their necks.

Though Allah and His Messenger did not say it, than those who say Allah and His Messenger said so — who is more unjust? According to the verse, such people are unjust, criminal people. So Allah is free from what they say. In the face of their saying something Allah Almighty did not say by attributing it to Allah, Allah, exposing their lying, says: are they informing about something in the heavens and earth and what is between them that Allah would not know? Allah's saying this — that He spoke no such word, and that these people, imputing guilt to Allah and His Messenger, are lying — declaring this openly and very clearly to people: what is it?

So, O people, there is nothing Allah does not know, hear or see. By attributing to Allah a word Allah did not say, do not be unjust to your own selves. Obey Allah and His Messenger so that you attain salvation — thus Allah Almighty guides people with His verses. With His verses.
