If We let mankind taste a blessing from Us and then take it away from him, he becomes hopeless and ungrateful.
Tafsir
All this existence and all that exists is Allah's. Man is born naked from his mother. Then, by creation, he is inclined towards Allah's creations and forgets Allah, loving them as if he will never part with them. When Allah bestows a blessing on such a person, such as wealth and property or children and well-being, and He takes it away from him, he becomes rebellious against Allah and becomes ungrateful and despondent. He does not know and does not think that Allah has given him wealth, property, children and well-being when he had nothing. Then He tried people with these. This trial is to make people witness themselves to the world around them, to themselves and to Allah (swt). Because man is impatient, he does not see the owner of the wealth. He is ungrateful to Allah by lamenting what he has lost and rebelling against Allah (swt).
What is said in the video
To verse 9 we have come. If We let man taste a mercy, a blessing from Us, and then take it away from him, he becomes utterly despairing and ungrateful, He says. Ungrateful. When people fall into hardship, they implore Allah. O Allah, look, I've become like this, like that. If You give me this, I'll do this; if You give me that, I'll do that. He makes promises.
When Allah Almighty lets them taste a mercy, he forgets the promises he made. If I hadn't done this like this, it wouldn't have turned out like that. Look, I did this like this and so it turned out like this, he says.
And for example, He says, while they travel at sea, in darknesses, at a time when the ship, He says, is struggling with the waves, when everyone is fearing for his life, in those darknesses, He says, in a state where if he held out his hand he could hardly see it, they implore Allah. They wish to reach land safe and sound. When We bring them safe and sound to land, they turn their backs and go, He says.
A person should use his reason a little. Yes. All these beings and creation belong to Allah. Whatever He has created, from the atom to the globe, belongs to Allah Almighty.
All souls will taste death. The inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain to Allah, He says. Because Allah is the Creator; of the beings He created the inheritance too will remain to Allah. No person in the world can take even an atom to the hereafter. Only, in return for the good and fine deeds he has done, he transfers a load of reward to the hereafter. In return, Allah Almighty abundantly, in the highest Paradise, ranks grants him. Ranks.
In this case, all beings and creation, from the atom to the globe — these created things belong to Allah. Man is born stark naked from his mother. Then, by his very creation, he inclines toward what Allah has created and, as if he would never part from those possessions, he cherishes them and forgets Allah. So when Allah lets these people taste a blessing from Him, gives them property and wealth or children and family, and then takes these from his hands, man, against Allah Almighty rebelling, falling into despair, is ungrateful.
To be saved from this state, in Allah Almighty we must put our trust. And to be able to put our trust, we must grasp the religion of Islam very well and be governed by the verses.
The Creator of all this created existence is in person our Lord Allah. Thus the Creator loves His creations more than we do, the Creator protects His creations more than we do. In this way, what our Lord has given us, be it children and family, be it property and wealth — when He takes these gifts from us as a test, if we gave a good covenant to Allah Almighty, what will we say? Well, our Lord, You do not lay on our backs a burden we cannot bear. Surely You do not act against Your servants. This is surely a good for me in the future. I have surrendered to You. I am content with what comes from You.
And You be pleased with me, O Allah, he will say.
Then he wins the test. If that person says so with his heart. Just as when he enters the religion of Islam he affirms with his tongue and confirms with his heart.
He has become a devout Muslim. Even about these Muslims, people — even about Muslims who are like this — people talk: real Muslim, not a real Muslim — that is how they talk. A real Muslim does this. If this man were not a real Muslim, would he affirm with his tongue and confirm with his heart? This is now a real Muslim. Out of ignorance, out of lack of knowledge, he may make mistakes. Mistakes. He may not know what you know. He may not know what I know. You can't go saying "real Muslim" about him. You can't say he is a real Muslim or he isn't.
They have learned a word from each other. Real Muslim. As if you were a real Muslim, by saying this. By excluding that person from Islam — a Muslim to a Muslim, it says: if a Muslim says to a Muslim you are an unbeliever, before the other dies he himself departs as an unbeliever. This is a verse. Yes. That is why people should know their religion well, know the verses well, be content with what comes from Allah, and in complete surrender to Him, when that person is content with what comes from his Lord, he will win his test in the world.
So when Allah lets these people taste a blessing from Him, gives them property and wealth or children and family, and snatches these from his hands, man against Allah Almighty rebels, falls into despair and is ungrateful, He says. No Muslim loses hope in Allah. Only the unbelievers, He says, lose hope in Allah. Allah says this. And how do they, Allah says, lose their hope? Today you probably watch the unbelievers on television. Sometimes they ask each other, even those who go to church.
Is there resurrection in the hereafter, one says. Honestly, that's what they say, but I don't believe it, he says. I don't believe it, he says.
If they had believed in Allah, they would not call Jesus the son of Allah, Mary (?), Ezra the son of Allah.
Such a god with a child, a father, a mother — if they accept it for themselves, then they don't believe in Allah either. With a mother and a father (?). He has a wife, He has a son. Sons.
Again, Allah Almighty says in His verse:
Of the non-Muslims, He says, that is, of the Christians: none, none of them until his death, He says, believes in Jesus either, He says.
Allah says it in His verse. Until his death — he doesn't believe even in Jesus. He doesn't believe in Jesus either. At the moment of death, only thinking perhaps it will save him, he believes in Jesus. Look, not in His Essence, but Allah Almighty in His verse: in Jesus he doesn't believe, He says.
A Jew I came across.
Kenan Hodja knows this well. Crossing the (?) mountains, he says, by car, he says, I rolled into a ditch; I don't recognize Allah, he says, involuntarily Allah came out of my mouth, he said. Whether you heard that conversation of ours or not, I don't know. What made me say this, he says, and I don't believe in Allah, he says. Yes, so what made you say this was: first, in the (?), at that Rabbiküm address, when He said I am your Lord, Allah standing before you — because you knew that you have a Lord who created you, that Lord who created you, even though you don't know Him, the Lord of your imagination — since one knows that a Lord created him, even if it is the Lord of your imagination, because you remembered Him, you said Allah, he said.
Oh, Allah. That is why (?). There is no person who does not know he has a Lord who created him.
In the remotest corner of Africa, even the tom-tom drummers make statues, make them, and worship. They worship, that is. They worship stars, birds, sorcerers. So they know that someone created them. Yes. So what does this rest on? On our Lord who created our spirits in the realm of Lahut, at that address Elestü bi Rabbiküm saying: your Lord am I — it rests on that verse. And all spirits know that they have a Lord who created them. And with their wishes and desires, with their aims, one by one Allah Almighty makes a covenant and raises them to the barzakh. The person whose time has come, according to his wish and desire in the world — the person whose time has come He takes from the barzakh to the realm of Jabarut, from the realm of Jabarut to the realm of Malakut, from the realm of Malakut to the realm of Mulk, clothing him in a bodily spirit; in the mother's womb on the fortieth day that spirit enters the embryo.
And while passing through the realm of Jabarut and the realm of Malakut, those places being veiled, covered, His making the spirit forget them, in the realm of Mulk, from zero, this person, with the eyes he sees with, with the mind we call aql al-maash, His raising him on earth through mother and father. And in the person's characters his wish and desire appears as a result of the covenant he gave to Allah. According to that wish and desire, Allah's attribute of being Allah, in the universe, according to this wish and desire creates causes for everyone. Everyone, according to his wish and desire, carries out his actual deeds within these causes.
The person, according to his own wish and desire, his aim, his wish and desire carrying out through actual deeds, what kind of person he is he proves. Through the cause he is incurring sin. He does not know and does not think that when he had nothing, when he had not a thing, Allah gave him property, wealth, children and family. Then He tested people with these. This (?) is so that people, toward themselves, those around, themselves and Allah Almighty, are held as witnesses. So man, since he cannot be patient, does not see the Owner of the property, clinging to what has slipped from his hands, rebelling against Allah Almighty, he has shown ingratitude to Allah.
