How can a nation find the guidance of Allah, after a Prophet came to them with clear signs and they had believed, yet later they still return to denial? Allah does not guide oppressors (if they continue with their oppression).
Tafsir
Allah (swt) has made Himself known to all His creatures and to human beings and has opened the doors of His greatest treasure to human beings. This treasure is the treasure of Allah's Mercy towards human beings and His creatures. There is no human being who can take a particle to the Hereafter. People will take only their good deeds and sins as a reward for their earnings in this world. The people who do what Allah commands, rules and says instead of carrying the burden of sin are the ones who enter the door of Allah's treasure and are the ones who are the recipients of that treasure. These are the ones who attain salvation, bear the burden of good deeds and benefit from Allah's mercy.
And there is a people who believed and believed in the Prophets and the Book that came to them, but then they disbelieved. They turn against the religion of Allah with enmity and transgression. These are the ones who are outside the mercy of Allah. These are the people who turn away from Allah and do not listen to His commands and prohibitions. These are the people who oppress people, who are subject to their nafs and shaytan, and who commit inhuman acts. Those who commit such acts are people who are cruel to their own souls. The commands of Allah are too heavy for their nafs. They do not listen to the Verses of Allah and do not recognize any path other than the path of their own souls and the path shown by Shaytan. They turn their backs on Allah's mercy and turn away from Allah. Such people follow every stubborn shaitan with the stubbornness of their ego. If such people do not repent and return to Allah, how can such people be guided by Allah and how can Allah guide them?
When they are invited to Islam, they do not accept Islam, they deny the Prophet, they do not rule by the Qur'an, they pursue all kinds of mischief and wreak havoc. They make people restless and oppress them. If Allah has mercy on such people, will Allah not do injustice to those who listen to Allah, who obey and worship Him, who do not follow their own ego for the sake of Allah, who submit to Allah's justice, who respect the rights and laws of people, who know their Lord as Lord and do not fail in their obedience and worship? However, Allah is the judge of judges. He is very fair to His creatures and does injustice to no one. He repays everyone exactly what they have earned. How can Allah bestow His mercy on those who commit wrongdoing in return for the sins they have committed?
Allah (swt) sends down His mercy, and if a person runs away from the rain and hides himself under an umbrella or takes shelter in a shelter and does not benefit from the rain of mercy, what will Allah do to them? They will not be able to receive Allah's mercy and guidance in this state.
What is said in the video
In verse 86 there were mistakes here, we have corrected them. What does it say in Al Imran 86, the verse? Let's see. From here let's read. 6- After they believed and bore witness that the Messenger is true: correct. Up to there it's correct. And after clear proofs had come to them: up to there it's correct. Now, here the mistake begins. There we have corrected it. The mistake begins here. A people who turned to disbelief: how would Allah grant them guidance? Meaning, it's impossible, it says, We do not give them guidance, it says. Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people, it says. Well, Hodja, where is the mistake here?
The mistake is in the subtlety. Pay attention. A people who turned to disbelief, how would they attain Allah's guidance? A people who turned to disbelief, how would they attain Allah's guidance? What does it say here? 86 A people who turned to disbelief: how should Allah grant them guidance?
Meaning, it's impossible: I don't. I don't. A people who turned to disbelief, as long as they remain in that state, how would they attain Allah's guidance? As long as they remain in that state, how would they attain Allah's guidance? Allah does not guide peoples who persist in wrongdoing. As long as they persist. So man's partial will is in himself, partial will. With this will, through the actual deeds he has done, he will earn reward and sin. Since we wrote Tefsir-i Ekmel: however much the verses were written this way, their meanings are not like that. Their meanings are as here. That is, as if written correctly.
Allah Almighty, making His essence known to His creatures and to people, has opened to people the doors of His greatest treasure. This treasure is Allah's mercy toward people and His creatures, the treasure of mercy. Mercy. Everyone (?) under mercy. What does it say?
Mercy in the universe for everyone, in the hereafter only (?). So benefit from this treasure of mercy. In this universe, for everyone. If you do not benefit from this treasure. From the falling rain. Just as they fill dams, and when it doesn't rain those dams quench people's thirst, if you can't fill your vessel, your vessel, if you can't fill your vessel from that mercy, and over that mercy your own shadow of rebellion comes and leaves your vessel dry, then in the hereafter with that vessel, that is, with those pockets, into the divine presence you go, Allah Almighty says: you have no yield with Me.
You have no servanthood toward Me, He says, for Me to show you mercy today. Off you go then, away with you. Where to? To the other side. Which other side? To the fire of Hell. May Allah protect us.
Yes. This treasure is the treasure of Allah's mercy toward people and His creatures. There is no person who could take (?) to the hereafter.
A person can take no (?) to the hereafter. Why can't he? What does it say? Look: every soul shall taste death. Yes. The inheritance of the heavens and the earth will remain to Allah. That is, Allah created the heavens and the earth and what is between them. After all souls die, Allah's creation will again remain to Allah. So among Allah's creation, we carry what He gave us as trustees. Look what He says in another verse. Or do you own a single atom of your world? If that were so, He says, you would be given nothing from your world. Meaning, should one who has not created a single atom in the world be made happy, He says.
If you yourself had the power to create and created a single atom, you would also create your own needs, He says, and you would not bring your need to Me. And I would give you nothing of what I created, He says. So the inheritance of the heavens and the earth and what is between them is Allah's. Allah created it, it will remain to Allah. What will we take? We will be called to account with Allah's creation. With the desire we felt for them and the actual deeds we did, with the reward-and-sin burden we will go. With what will we go? With our actual deeds, with the actual deeds we have done, with burdens of reward and sin we will go. So, O man, consider that in this world you are a traveler.
Think. You have loaded your camel with loads. With loads. Do not go to the other side with stones and soil. There are stones and soil there too. You will lose. No one will even look at you. Rather, go with the treasures that are needed there, that they need.
What is this? Go with the deeds Allah asks of you. Go with actual deeds so that you receive their reward from your Lord. Otherwise you'll end up like a merchant gone bankrupt.
There is no person who could take a single atom to the hereafter. In return for their earnings in the world, people will take only their rewards and sins with them. Now, instead of a burden of sin, those who do Allah's command, His Sharia rulings and what He says, such people, entering through the door of Allah's treasure, become people who attain that treasure. These are the ones who attain salvation, who carry the load of reward. When it shuts off, let's not panic, I turn it off and on right away, it goes on like this for a while. Yes, we said: what happens if you pray salah? If you do Allah's command and, through its doors, take as much as you want from that treasure, what happens? What do those who pray lose?
What do those who don't pray gain? Those who don't pray gain a load of sin, those who pray gain a load of reward. Now, people pay money, (?), they do gymnastics, trying to burn their fat in the name of physical education. Yet to burn that fat, to burn this belly fat, they do entirely salah movements.
Wudu prevents a person's heart disease. I mean, now you live the (?) of being human, and casting off the stress in your heart you find peace in praying. Well, what happens if you don't lie? No, you'll be pleased. Why? Because your nafs makes you say it. It will make you proud. Are you aware that in the end it disgraces you? When your lie comes out, your word will not be trusted, and that you are a liar will be stamped on you, do you think of that? And can you stomach the disgrace of your state after that? And why do you backbite? Are you aware that backbiting is eating your dead brother's flesh?
That by criticizing another you break his heart, and that someone else, criticizing you, will this time feed you to people, do you know that? So control yourself. Look, the religion of Islam gives you honor. It lets you taste the (?) of humanity. If you are honored by Islam, that is, if you do what it says. Otherwise, in stress, in not knowing yourself, you live as if dead, and Allah Almighty says: do not be with the dead. These dead, in their nafs-driven feelings, thinking themselves alive. They do not follow Allah's command; they follow the (?) of Satan, who is the enemy, and instead of taking Allah as friend they take the taghut and Satan as friends.
Thinking he lives like this with nafs-driven feelings, he lives an abject life. They value neither his character, nor his word, nor the self of (?).
If he has money, they circle around him for his money. If a woman is beautiful, they say gilded words to her to take advantage of her. All of it is a rag.
Come to your senses. Strengthen your characters. Taste the (?) of living as a human being. Abide by Allah's verses, so that you get the joy of life in this world and, catching peace, live a good life. This life is not worth living in restlessness, stress and depression. This life: without falling into the state of people who load up this world's matter and go bankrupt in the hereafter, without being porters of the world, going by Allah's commands, those people, loading up the load of reward, must reach a state in which they go into Allah's presence. In this state a person knows Allah, and from the One Allah never compromises, and spends his life here in peace.
The bankrupt of my community is not the one who goes bankrupt in the world, but the one who goes bankrupt in the hereafter. So do not end up bankrupt in the hereafter. Your soul has not yet reached your throat; the treasure of life is in your hands.
Will you never use your mind, as the verse says? Come to your senses. Ask yourself: Which path am I on? Ve eshab-ı meymeneti ma eshab-ı meymene. Am I on the path of those on the right? Ve eshab-ı meş'emeti ma eshab-ı meş'eme. Or am I on the path of those on the left? Ask yourself this. Please, if you are human, ask. And think. The difference between the two. That there is no god but Allah. Although all these created beings know it, even those who deny Allah, knowing Allah's existence, set out to deny in their rebellion. In their rebellion. In this state, you too, knowing Allah: break that nafs of yours, break Satan's (?), be with your mind. For Allah created the mind as knower of the truth.
That's why He says: will you never think, will you never use your mind? Yes. So: Inne'd-dîne inda'llâhi'l-İslâm, there is no religion other than Islam. Allah Almighty: today We have perfected your religion, He says. For whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, that religion will never benefit him, He says. And they will be among the losers, He says. And I say: O my Muslim brother! O people! Use your minds. There is no other god besides Allah. The heavens and the earth, what is between them, with this Throne of Allah, with all might and power, are under Allah's rule. So, as Allah Almighty says in His verse, Do not walk the earth arrogantly: you can neither reach those mountains nor walk with the weight of those mountains, He says.
So know your helplessness, return to your Creator so that you find life. Otherwise, all of us are in very bad shape. We did not come to this world for pleasure and amusement. Nor did we come to this world to have fun. We came to this world to play out the script of the covenant we gave in the world of the hereafter. Did you think you would die without proving what kind of person you are? According to this verse, every soul will play out the script of the covenant it gave in the world of the hereafter. Here lies Allah's greatness. He closed off that world. We don't know what our destiny is. We know there is a Creator.
So submit to Him. After that, fear no more, do not fear. Neither poverty will (?) you, nor wealth. How beautifully people speak about the Prophet. El-fakru fahrî, el-fakru fahrî: did he not say it, that pride of the worlds? Mention your poverty, mention your poverty. This heart of mine found (?) in poverty and annihilation. What is this? This isn't poverty, mind you. Look, if you say that, against the Prophet you commit slander. The meaning of fakr is (?): this whole universe, (?) and the earth and what is between them, even if the Prophet (peace be upon him) had them, he knew that they (?) and surrendered them to Him.
He even knew Allah as the creator of his body and surrendered it to Him. He even knew that (?) and surrendered it to Him. That is how he came into the state of fakr. Everything is Allah's. Everything. Did he not say it, that pride of the worlds? The Prophet (peace be upon him), the mercy to the worlds: mention. What is it? Mentioning one's poverty. Lâ ilâhe illallâhu vahdehû lâ şerîke leh, lehü'l-mülkü ve lehü'l-hamdü ve hüve alâ külli şey'in kadir. What does it say here? La ilahe illallah. There is no god but Allah. Vahdehu: He is One. He subsists by His essence. Lâ şerîke leh: He has no partner.
In His dominion, praise (?) belongs to Allah alone. Şey'in kadir: He has power over all things. So remember this. In existence everything is His, and everything will end in Him. Use it. I always say it. There is no other god. Our return is to Him; souls will taste death, and in the end you will be returned to Him.
Yes.
There is also a people who believe and (?) turn to denial. What does the verse say? They believe, then disbelieve. Then those who believe again, it says. These are destined for Hell forever, it says, but there, if he does not go on the fitrah of Islam and in the end goes as a disbeliever. Showing enmity to Allah's religion, transgressing the limits, against this religion... These are the people who step outside Allah's mercy, who turn away from Allah, who do not heed His commands and prohibitions. These are people who oppress others, who follow their nafs and Satan, who take part in inhuman acts. Those who commit such deeds are people who are unjust to their own souls.
Yes.
Allah's commands to their souls, Allah's commands to their souls are heavy. They do not listen to Allah's verses; apart from the path shown by their own nafs and Satan, they recognize no other path. They never compromise. Why? They never give up the path shown by their own nafs and Satan. Turning their backs on Allah's mercy, they distance themselves from Allah. Such people, with the stubbornness of their nafs, follow every stubborn devil. How should Allah guide such people? Yes. How would you (?) people in this state? Allah's door of repentance is open. Whatever state you are in, turn to your Lord.
Ask forgiveness. Ask, so that you attain Allah's mercy. Yes. Allah Almighty gave you a good life.
He made you His addressee. He made you the most excellent of all creation. Lekad halakna'l-insâne fî ahseni takvîm. I created man in the most beautiful form, He said. He offered you all His blessings. He set every kind of pleasure before you. But you, to earn three pennies, at that factory, at that workplace, in that trade, or in a government office, knowing that if you don't carry out the order given you'll be thrown out, just as you obey them and, to meet your needs without being thrown out, there you work, you turn your back on Allah, who lets you taste the blessings. You never think about this.
Doesn't a person imagine? I mean, to indulge in pleasure while the one opposite you is hungry, to pass by and boast: does this suit you? Does this befit humanity? Where was your civilization? Civilization, that's how it is. Look how beautifully Mehmet Akif Ersoy puts it: what you call civilization is a monster with one tooth left; it will swallow you. So seek civilization in Islam too, seek mercy in Islam too, seek forgiveness in Islam too. Whatever you seek is found in the religion of Islam, in Allah's mercy. If you know the religion of Islam very well, you live a very good life. You know people's rights and laws.
You understand far better how to get along with them. You know how they go on about human rights, human rights. Those aren't human rights; they are the rights of oppression, the rights of oppressors. They only protect each other's rights. Not human rights; a person's right is protected by Allah's law and Sharia ruling. Retaliation in kind: nose for nose, eye for eye, ear for ear, it says. Look how beautiful. For what is done to you, only (?), don't give more, it says. It gives you life. What does it give? The Sharia ruling does this. Who does it? Your Lord who created you shows you your paths. So have some shame. Turn to Allah.
Bow your head and give thanks for the blessings your Lord gave. Look what Allah Almighty says. Would We ever diminish the blessing of the one who gives thanks, He says. Would We diminish his wealth, He says. What does He say? Would We ever diminish the wealth of the one who gives thanks? Give thanks and see. Unknown doors will open for you. Allah gives to you continually. He gives to you continually. Do not fear. Do what He says. Not what I say. This is what Allah says. We rely on these. According to the verse Who gives his word like Allah, surely your Lord will open the verses to you. Yes. What was it?
To trust in and rely on Allah in the religion of Islam. To carry out His commands. How clear the verses are, how explicit. But which of us abides by them? Or which of us knows and opens the verses this way?
We try to steer them by our own minds, with nafs-driven feelings. And then of course such mistakes come about. They do. These are wrong. Yes.
These are invited to Islam. We left out the letter i in İslam'a here. Yes. They are invited to Islam. They do not accept Islam.
But give them five pennies' worth of goods, and they're monsters to take it from you. Hey, this passing worldly wealth, (?), the riches of the hereafter, the peace of the path of eternal bliss: why don't you aspire to it? Well, can such a mind be called a mind? These are people with minds.
They deny the Prophet and do not abide by the Quran. Running after every kind of (?), they drown the place in corruption. They make people uneasy and oppress them. If Allah shows mercy to such people, then those who listen to Allah, who obey and worship Him, those who for Allah's sake do not follow their own (?), who bow to His (?), which is Allah's command, who bow to His justice, who respect people's rights and laws, who know their Lord as Lord, who do not fall short in obedience and worship to Him: toward them, would Allah not be committing injustice? That is Allah's attribute of Justice, His attribute of being Judge. What was it?
Eleysallâhu bi-ahkemi'l-hâkimîn. He is the Judge of judges. By Allah, you'll get slapped and in the other world you attain Allah's mercy. Everything is by your own will. As people say: that Allah oppresses whom He wills, puts whom He wills into Paradise, puts whom He wills into Paradise; no, it's not like that Yes, we continue.
Whereas Allah is the Judge of judges. He is very just toward peoples and wrongs no one. What does it say? Today, that is, when that supreme court is set up, that day in the presence of the Judge of judges, without wrong being done to anyone, everyone, in return for what their two hands earned, will be given in full, it says. Given in full.
When you go to bed in the evening, you think about the work you'll do in the morning, you make plans. When you go to bed in the evening, you think about the money you'll get at the start of the month, your debts, what you're owed, what you'll pay. If you're in trade, for what you're owed, what you owe, for the dealings at their places, you make plans, you make preparations. For this passing world you, making all sorts of plans in your mind, to secure your living, spend your time. Blessed one, think a little about the trade of the hereafter too. Think a little about its trade too. Look, do you know what I used to do?
Even after I retired. In the truck it carried goods, goods. I carried Vibros's goods to factories. I delivered them. Around two, three o'clock the work would be done. I'd come home. I'd ask myself. Hey, hajji, look, today you worked this much for the world. This much. You took and brought this many goods. What did you do for Allah? And while driving, too, I always remembered Allah. Even the people next to me would say: you're in love. In love with what, I'd say. By Allah, you drive along lost in thought. Are you in love with a human? I'm in love with Allah, I'd say. It shows, they'd say, you drift off, they'd say.
I drift off, but I drive the car so well that what's ahead of me, what will come at me, what will happen there, my Lord makes it all known. The car goes by itself anyway.
I'd come home: hajji, what did you do? Did you do this much for Allah as for the world? I'd feel ashamed, I'd take the Holy Quran, the Quran of Truth. As much as I worked for the world, did I manage to work for the hereafter as much as for the passing world? Besides that, He secured my sustenance, secured so much sustenance for me, secured mercy. He has set the world before me, and I come here: oh, I'm tired, let me lie down a bit. I lie down, it's my right, I rest my body. But I would imagine. This time I was working for Allah. I was working for the hereafter, not for Allah. Allah has no need. I have the need.
This time I was working for the hereafter. Yes.
Whereas Allah, as Judge of judges, is very just toward the beings He created and wrongs no one. He gives everyone the full return of what they earned. So, in return for the sins committed by those who want oppression, how should Allah, in this state of theirs, let them attain His mercy? Allah Almighty showers the treasure of mercy. If a person, as if fleeing the rain, gets under an umbrella or takes refuge in a shelter and does not benefit from that rain of mercy, what should Allah do with them? These, in this state, cannot attain Allah's mercy and cannot reach His guidance.
How beautiful: our Lord has written and laid out everything. We do not interfere with people, He says, this verse says it, We do not interfere with you, He says. I will show you in the verse: I am not interfering with you, He says. What does this mean? We gave you (?). With your own will, with the actual deeds you have done, you will be called to account, He says.
