Is it something to wonder about, that We give revelations to a man from among them and say; “Warn mankind and give the glad tidings to the believers that there is a high status of truth with their Lord”, that the infidels say, “this is clearly sorcery”?
Tafsir
The polytheists of Mecca could not digest the Prophethood of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Did Allah find Abu Talib's orphan to be a Prophet, shouldn't it have been more appropriate for a rich and respected person to be a Prophet? They said. They made decisions with their own minds instead of Allah (swt). In this respect, by disobeying Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they also disbelieved in Allah.
He saved those who believe from the crooked path and gave good news to the Prophet that there is a high station of righteousness with their Lord. By the station of righteousness here is meant that since there is no other God but Allah, the path that Allah shows to mankind is the right path, smooth and complete. Is it any wonder that Allah revealed to the believers with the Prophet (PBUH) the good news that whoever follows the path shown by Allah, the path that Allah has presented to mankind is a high path of righteousness, and that those who believe will attain high positions in the sight of Allah by being on this path?
Is it any wonder that people were surprised that a man from among them was given the prophethood, forgetting that Allah is Almighty, the Owner of the universe, the Creator of the universe, the One who created it out of nothing, and yet they were astonished at this? They said that the suras We revealed to him and the miracles the Prophet (PBUH) showed were magic. Not seeing the enlightened path that the Holy Qur'an shows to people and not thinking that the Qur'an is a Divine word, they said that a Prophet who would save them from their ignorance was a magician.
What is said in the video
Surah Yunus, the second verse. That We revealed to a man from among them, to a man: warn people, and give glad tidings to those who believe that with their Lord there is for them a high station of truthfulness; is this something for people to wonder at, it says. Look how beautifully it fits exactly here. People. So you of all people are the one left to be qutb?
Well, was prophethood left to Muhammad (peace be upon him) of all people? That's how it is. So, if Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a prophet, there is something in him. There is something. And if a man is said to be your qutb, or your imam, if this man also opens the verses, if he has not learned a single word from Ahmet or Mehmet, if they confirm one another with this verse, will you be able to say: is this the qutb I'm left with, about this? Look how beautifully the verse says it. To a man from among them; to whom? To Muhammad (peace be upon him). Warn people, and give glad tidings to those who believe that with their Lord there is for them a high station of truthfulness; Our revealing this, is it something for people to wonder at? Those disbelievers said: this is surely a clear sorcerer, it says.
This time, if one says from the disbelievers: even our Muslims cannot bear the verses and try to stand up against us. Yes. They cannot bear the Truth. In name a Muslim; instead of checking himself, instead of weighing his conscience together with my Lord, instead of calling himself to account in the light of the verses and hadiths as to what kind of person he is, with that superstitious mind he tries to stand up against the Truth. Am I explaining anything here other than Allah? Am I explaining anything from here other than the Prophet? Am I explaining anything here other than making Allah loved?
My explaining to you what state Allah's verses are in, is that something for you to wonder at? As I said just now, if you know, let him come; but (?) If you don't explain. Let us learn. Why did we take this on? To go to our Lord. To earn His mercy. When we set out on a journey (?), (?) Yes.
The Meccan polytheists, unable to stomach the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him): of all people, did Allah find Abu Talib's orphan as prophet? Thinking it more fitting that at least someone respected and rich be the prophet, they were deciding in Allah's place by their own minds; so they were saying: if only someone from these two towns had been the prophet? Of all people, was it left to Abu Talib's orphan?
These people who cover up people's covenant with Allah Almighty. These people. Those who cover Surah Al-A'raf, verse 172, with ash. Who pour ash on it and put it to sleep.
Who take free will away from people and make Allah exercise free will over people with their superstitious minds, who say Allah Almighty is unaware of the future and say: perhaps He will do so to you, who say: perhaps you will be saved; what kind of knowledge do these have, what kind of desire of the nafs, what kind of superstition do they have, that superstition has closed their eyes; though I have explained the truth for years, they are still deep asleep.
Or else under the flag of Islam, doing the porter's work of the world, carrying the world's load and bankrupting his hereafter, he brings himself to that state.
I will tell you a story now from once upon a time. My students know what happened to me. I told them. Let me tell you too here; it's just the right place.
Once upon a time we had a traffic accident in Mecca. We helped the man; the blame was left on us. We stayed there about three months. There, a person who saw my karamat, a person, said to me: I will build a house in Istanbul, I'll give you a flat, he said. I'm telling it briefly; from months, long years passed, though I had given my money; anyway, he built the flat, gave it to us half-finished, gave it to us; into the house we moved, we're living there; at the Feast of Sacrifice we bought the animals; we'll slaughter them the next day. Why are you putting animals here? Why, sir, are you putting the sacrifice here?
The sacrifice will be slaughtered tomorrow. There is no place to put it. We put the animals in the coal cellar.
So much for our feast, so much for our sacrifice; there we got very upset. We said nothing. The next day at the Hazneder Mosque, the Hazneder Mosque, I'm praying.
Into my heart: whom do they call a hammal, it says. Hammal, like that. I repeat the words exactly. It doesn't say hamal, it says hammal, hammal. Whom do they call hammal? Allah Allah, I said. I'm praying here. What business do these hammals have here now? Is this Satan's temptation to distance me from my Lord? We pray with contemplation. Say it, say it, they say. Say, whom do they call hammal? I couldn't hold out. It was as if they were choking me, they had squeezed me like this. Hamal is what they call one who carries a load on his back. I'm praying on one side of him. That efendi; efendi, they said, efendi.
Well, whom do they call hamal, I said this time. A person who has loaded himself with the world and bankrupted his hereafter is a hamal, it said. And he is in front, it said. And I looked and saw it was the man I got that flat from. My flat (?), he said. I gave the flat to a Turk living in Germany without taking money. The flat. You are a witness. Everyone here is a witness. Those who know are witnesses. He didn't take money either. I gave it, settled it, the man went.
Just so as not to see him and greet him.
A porter of the world, bankrupt in the hereafter. Why should I greet him anymore?
Yes. So do not be porters of the world. Do not fall into the class of those bankrupt in the hereafter. The Prophet (peace be upon him) says so. The bankrupt of my ummah is not the one who goes bankrupt in the world, he says, but the one bankrupt in the hereafter. Yes.
The Meccan polytheists, unable to stomach the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him): of all people, did Allah find Abu Talib's orphan as prophet? Thinking it more fitting that at least someone respected and rich be the prophet, they were deciding in Allah's place by their own minds. Because they are poor people who do not know that our souls were created in the realm of lahut, that Allah Almighty addressed us and made a covenant with us. Poor people.
For this reason, not obeying Muhammad (peace be upon him), they also denied Allah. Did Allah Almighty fall into helplessness, so that He could not make us know His Essence? Had We wished, He says, an angel from the clouds would hang down and We would make you prostrate; which brave man would not prostrate then, which brave man, which person? So it is a value Allah has given people, a great value, because He gave a part from His spirit; just as a person addresses a person, just as a person addresses his child personally, Allah Almighty too, because He gave us from His spirit, does not separate us from His Essence and addresses us personally, addresses us personally; and even if it's our child, we do not interfere in what they do, we only give a warning, everything will live its own destiny; Allah Almighty too created us.
Leaving us free with our own will, He gave us our wishes, desires and aims as our destiny; never interfering with us, within our wishes and desires, by doing what we desire, we earn reward and sin. What does this mean? It means Allah Almighty, with a great value He has given man, addresses him personally. So if such an exalted Lord, a helpless created human like us, addresses personally and values so much, with which state of the nafs do you turn your back on Allah? You distance yourself from Allah. Ungrateful for His blessings, eating and drinking, swept up by Satan's temptation, as he eats with the left hand, so with the desire of the nafs you eat with the left hand and do not give thanks for what Allah has given.
That's how it is.
Truly a sad matter, a grievous matter, grievous.
As for the believers, saving them from the crooked path, that with their Lord there is a high station of truthfulness, He gave them glad tidings through the Prophet.
The Prophet came to people as one who gives glad tidings of Paradise and warns of Hell. He came as a mercy to the worlds. To the worlds. Yes. The truthfulness here; by the station of truthfulness here what is meant is: since there is no other god but Allah, the path Allah shows people is, smoothly and flawlessly, the most correct sirat al-mustaqim, the straight path. Whoever enters the path Allah shows; since the path Allah has offered people is a path of high truthfulness, and that those who believe, by being on this path, will attain high stations with Allah; that He revealed to the Prophet (peace be upon him): give glad tidings to people; is this, for people, a thing to wonder at?
For people. That the person who sets out to turn you to the One who created you turns you not to himself but to your Creator, is that a thing to wonder at? Allah Almighty's; the scholars are the Prophet's heirs, the Prophet says in a hadith. Since he says the scholars are my heirs, these people of whom he says the scholars' passing to the hereafter is like the sun going and darkness coming, if they invite you to Allah, if they explain Allah's ways to you, is it a thing to wonder at?
Is there no authority to judge these people?
There are two authorities. One, the authority of Allah. Two, the authority of the scholars. Only they can judge.
Apart from these, they cannot be judged.
If he explains wrongly, if he explains wrongly, if he is also a servant of Allah with a duty, Allah, for the wrong words he has said, by inspiring the truth into the hearts of the people before him, still gives that person a reward. Because his intention is sincere. Sincere. Yes. So in this case, Allah's servants on duty inviting people to Allah is not a thing to wonder at. For one who has a mind, using his mind, that returning to his Lord is necessary, to live this in his own conscience, it is time. In his own conscience.
Now in our time our people fill entertainment venues, fill the places of the nafs's desire; nakedness is spreading; everyone, as in the saying a grape darkens by looking at a grape, follows one another along; and I call out to you like this, I say: O people, O you who believe: rather than running after those on television, in cinemas, in entertainment venues, those called stars, the pioneers of kufr, and on the path the taghut shows bringing harm to your nafs, the path of the people of faith is the complete opposite of theirs. Even if they despise you, even if they mock you; in the last verse of Surah At-Tawbah I explained a moment ago: even if all people withdraw their hand from you, even if they shut you out, without compromising on Allah's path, say: Allah, the Lord of the great Throne, of the heavens and the earth, my Lord, the Owner of that great Throne, is sufficient for me, and go straight along that sirat al-mustaqim.
This short life, this life in this short, passing guesthouse of the world, spend it in obedience to Allah. If, carried away by your nafs's desire, you meet with harm both in this world and in the hereafter, know that other than Allah you have no one to save you. For this reason, without minding people reproaching you, people talking about you, take your place beside your Lord.
People are going more and more toward the abyss. Watching one another, they keep uncovering themselves. So-and-so lives like this. What's wrong with that, they say. But they never mention Allah's verse.
In that case they become great sinners. They are going (?), (?).
So we will use our minds. We will fear our Lord.
If we fear Him, perhaps our conscience will direct us to our Lord, to the verses of our Lord, and we make amends. Yes.
As for those who believe, saving them from the crooked path, that with their Lord there is a high station of truthfulness, the Prophet (peace be upon him) also gave glad tidings; what is meant by the station of truthfulness here is: since there is no god other than Allah, the path of sirat al-mustaqim that Allah shows people is, smoothly and flawlessly, the most correct path. Whoever enters the right path that Allah shows; since the path Allah has offered people is a path of high truthfulness, and that those who believe, by being on this path, will attain high stations with Allah, His revealing to the believers through the Prophet (peace be upon him): give them glad tidings; has this become something to wonder at for people, it says; to people that Prophet does not say: obey me, or believe.
What does he say? Believe in Allah. I too am a human like you. I too am a servant of Allah like you. I am only a messenger of Allah. I tell you what is revealed to me. I am trying to direct you to Allah, who is my Lord and your Lord, he says. Yes. I am trying to direct you to Allah, who is my Lord and yours. There is no god but Allah, after all. Tomorrow in His presence, at the Supreme Court, we will give account, we will stand trial. When you come into My presence with a driver, He says. The driver: with the body. We, He says, silence your mouths, bind your feet, make your hands speak, He says. Yes.
And the soul says to the body: why do you bear witness against me? Allah, who makes me speak, makes me speak, it says. There, after the body tastes death a second time, what does He say? You are being returned to the One who first created, He says. There it tastes death a second time. The body is not the soul. There is no death for souls. Yes.
So if the prophets and the scholars try to direct people to Allah, if they try to keep them from evils, if over those people who would bring Allah's wrath raining down on us they try to be (?) like an umbrella, is this something to wonder at?
Yes.
I never forget.
Once, someone said this to me. 50 years ago. These are all programmed. You and people like you, in forty, fifty years, will be properly removed from the scene, he said.
Shall I repeat it once more? The very same words ring in the ears. You and people like you will be gone in forty, fifty years.
When he said that, that person; of the believer's insight beware, he sees with Allah's light, it says. That he belonged to the number one Masonic organisation
was clear from his talks with such people. Always a program. They always work by program.
Yes. So be awake. Do not let people's words influence you. Whoever is influenced by people's words and turns a deaf ear to Allah's word, that person suffers harm in this world and the hereafter. Those influenced by Allah's word, if they are influenced, both in this world and in the hereafter find life.
Forgetting that Allah has power over all things and that He is the Owner of the universe who brings into being from nothing, is prophethood being given to a man among them something to wonder at, that people were left astonished at it?
To the surahs We revealed to him and to the miracles the Prophet (peace be upon him) showed, they said: it is sorcery. Unable to see the luminous path the Noble Quran shows people, unable to think that it is a divine word, in their own ignorance they called a prophet who would save them a sorcerer. Yes.
May Allah Almighty, all of us, all of us, from such polytheist men and women, from the outright enemies of Islam, keep safe. Yes. From their evils.
