Translation

If you are mu’min, what Allah has left (lawfully in profit) is better for you. I am not a guardian over you.

Tafsir

Hadrat Shu'ayb continued to inform his people of Allah's commands. O my people! If you are believers, the profit that Allah has left for you is better for you. The people of Median sold their goods at a very high profit and some of them were unable to buy what they needed. However, if these people had sold their goods at a normal profit, they would have made a lot more money than if they had sold them at an exorbitant price. Apart from that, since all creatures are servants of Allah, Allah protects His servants and does not want them to be wronged by others.

(I am not a watchman over you.) It is Allah who watches over and protects all the worlds. Even what is in front of one's eyes is sometimes unnoticed and unseen. In this respect, every human being is conscientiously responsible to Allah (swt) and Allah (swt) knows where every living being is and what state it is in. Therefore fear Allah and do not commit evil deeds.

In verse 86 of Surah Hud too: if you are believers, believers — the profit Allah leaves from the lawful is better for you. I am not a guardian over you, he says. Now, when this verse came, a verse like this came to my mind.

Allah the earth — you know, it says He will reduce the lands, the edges of the unbelievers. He will give them to the Muslims. They understand it this way. The believing servants will be heirs to the world, it says. The believing servants will be heirs to the world. Now this verse — people: the unbelievers will be defeated, the unbelievers will be defeated, the Muslims will prevail, they say. Whereas the Muslims will keep decreasing, keep decreasing. And the Last Hour, after no Islam remains, will break out upon the unbelievers. Where will Islam own the world?

Then what is the meaning of this verse? You know, My believing servants will be heirs to the world, it says. To the world. Now, in the verse Allah Almighty says, you cannot take a (?) from the world to the Hereafter, He says. Only those who strive with their wealth and their lives, with their wealth and their lives — those who buy Paradise, He says. Does He say so? He says (?). Those who buy Paradise with their wealth and their lives. Who is this? With their lives, the martyrs. With their wealth, who buys Paradise? Those who, for Allah's sake, give charity to the poor, the orphan, the stranded traveller, the needy.

He transfers his wealth to the Hereafter. He transfers this wealth to the Hereafter. So the believer became heir to the world. He transferred his wealth here to the Hereafter. But not the world — he transferred it in exchange for the world. He transferred it in exchange for the world. Who, then, will be heir to the world? The Muslims. The Muslims will transfer it to the other side with their good (?). Not that the Muslims will inherit the world as matter, or the unbelievers will be (?) from the world's goods or from their states. One must understand the verses well. Yes. Strange ones too, those unaware of the verse, say that the Muslims will be heirs to it, to the world. A person unaware of himself.

Yes. Whereas it is the Muslim giving charity for the Hereafter, giving from the world, giving for Allah to the stranded, to the (?), to the orphan, transferring his wealth here to the Hereafter. So, since the world will not enter Paradise, since it will be rolled up like an old rag, He says, and thrown into Hell, your place in exchange for the world Allah Almighty, adding from His own Self, will give you there in abundance. So you became heir to the world. Allah Almighty did not let your effort here go to waste. Yes.

In this verse: if you are believers, the profit Allah leaves from the lawful, it says. Profit — the profit in the lawful is the (?) of the world you earn by Allah's command. It is better for you. I am not a guardian over you, he says. Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) continues to convey Allah's commands to his people. O my people! If you are believers — for the believer earns from property Allah has made lawful, from the lawful, and if he gives charity from it, that lawful profit, lawful profit — because we feed this body (?) Allah Almighty has given us from the lawful, we receive a reward. Again, since we nourish ourselves lawfully with what we earned, we transfer it to the Hereafter.

According to which verse? These bodies I have given, He says — for the way in which you used them, (?) He says. So, did we use our body in the lawful or in the unlawful? If we used it in the lawful, if we earned lawfully, we fulfilled Allah's command. In our earning and in feeding our body the lawful, we have also transferred the equivalent of our earnings to the Hereafter. Yes. So you are heir to the world too. Heir to the world.

O people, if you are believers, the profit Allah leaves you is better for you. The people of Midian sell their goods at a very high profit. Some of their (?) cannot buy what they need; they end up in that state. Whereas if these people had sold their goods at a normal profit, they would have earned from turnover. Perhaps they would have earned much more than the money they couldn't earn by selling at exorbitant prices. At the same time, these also came about through black-marketeering. Among the people of Midian. They sold the goods. They seize. When those in need felt (?) for those goods, the goods not being around (?), they would sell at a (?) price.

(?) — will the man buy what he needs? That is why Allah Almighty had this black-marketeering abolished too. But those who do this, in the way the people of Midian were to be punished, remain subject to that punishment. Not destruction, but whatever He will ask of them — for whatever Allah will ask of people, whatever He asked before, it will be in the Hereafter too. In Our custom, He says, in Our law there is no change. Whatever it was before, He says, it will be (?) too, He says. Yes. Apart from this, since all created beings are Allah's servants, Allah protects His servants and does not want them to be wronged by others.

Shu'ayb (peace be upon him) says: I am not a guardian over you. It is Allah who watches over and protects all the worlds. A person sometimes cannot even notice and see what is before his eyes. That is, a person truly sometimes cannot notice and see what is going on before his eyes. Therefore, that every person is conscientiously responsible to Allah Almighty, and that Allah knows where and in what state every living being is — therefore fear Allah; (?) evil, he commanded, we say.
