Ar-Ra'd 31: If there would be a book that is read with which mountains would be made to walk or the earth to be shattered, or the dead to be made to talk (it would be Qur’an). But all matters belong to Allah. Do the believers not know that if Allah had desired, Allah would have made all mankind attain guidance? Until Allah’s promise comes, in return for what they have done, either an unexpected great calamity will come to the deniers or that calamity will come to the near of their houses. Allah does not fail on Allah’s promise.

If there would be a book that is read with which mountains would be made to walk or the earth to be shattered, or the dead to be made to talk (it would be Qur’an).
Tafsir
It is narrated that one day when the Prophet (PBUH) was explaining Islam to the disbelievers of Makkah, one of the polytheists, Abdullah bin Umayya al-Mahzumi, said, "These two mountains of Makkah are too much for us, remove them from here so that our land can expand. Let rivers flow between those mountains, open places for agriculture, and raise from the dead so-and-so of our ancestors, and let them tell us whether what you say is true or not. That is why this verse was revealed, they say.
If the mountains were moved by this Book or the earth were torn apart by it, it would still be this Qur'an. Because the Qur'an is the Word of Allah. But all affairs belong to Allah. Many sciences are written in the Books. Unless people apply these sciences in these Books, they cannot realize the written knowledge. Allah points to this and says that all sciences are in the Holy Qur'an. Allah has sent His Holy Qur'an to guide people and shed light before them. Are people still unable to understand Allah? Do they not know that what is written in the Book is the Word of Allah and that all things are seen by Allah?
Do not those who believe know? Had Allah willed, He could have guided all mankind. Allah's power and knowledge are sufficient for everything. Allah has left every human being free in his will. He evaluated people by their deeds and sent them into the world to place them where they deserve to be.
As for the disbelievers of the people, they will either continue to suffer a great calamity suddenly. They will be subjected to a mass calamity such as floods, storms, hurricanes and tornadoes, or they will suffer from various diseases. Because it will descend close to their homes, which means that they will be exposed to family troubles and illnesses.
Allah never goes back on His promise. Allah is complete and perfect. What Allah says is the truth and He will never go back on what He says. Allah is the One who fulfills His promise.
What is said in the video
And verse 31 of Surah Ar-Ra'd – how beautifully our Lord guides us with His greetings. If by this book that is recited mountains were moved, or by it the earth were split apart, or by it the dead were made to speak, that book would still be this Quran, He says. That is, there is no god but Allah. And the Quran is Allah's book. And although Allah has the power to create from nothing, if such situations had come about, still the owner of this Quran, the owner of this word – what would have been on the Lord's side (?), He says. Yes.
But all affairs belong to Allah. That is, by this He means the following. When We created these worlds, haphazardly and in vain We did not create them. We created everything within a program. And these worlds will be run by a program to the end. Yes, when He says all affairs belong to Allah – and finally, before this order We have set up, in the end you will again come to give account to Us, He says. All affairs belong to Allah. We programmed these worlds. This corresponds to a very deep meaning. We created you in the realm of Lahut. We made a covenant with you, with your souls, at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm".
For each soul, according to its own will, according to its own desire and wish, its destiny We wrote. So that you would not say, "You created me like Your essence," so that you would not say, "I could not recognize You as my Lord," the world of dominion, which is the unseen world, We created. We created the world of dominion. And We sent you into this world of dominion, where Our essence is not seen. (?) Every affair will return to Allah, after all. In this case, for all events, by the deeds you bring about with your own will, reward and sin will be recorded. In the end, as the outcome We programmed, within Our program, to Us you will return, He says. All affairs belong to Allah.
Do those who believe still not know that if Allah willed, He would guide all people aright? Yes. Allah Almighty would guide all people aright. Did the believers not know this? That is, We left you free in your own will. We made a covenant with you to fulfill your desire and wish. Why did We treat you this way? Because We gave you of Our spirit. And We created you as a mirror to Our essence. Only, so as not to create a being that would be a partner to My essence, We restricted your mind, He says. We deprived you, sir, of the power to create. We created all the worlds in such a way that they need the One who created these worlds.
Well, could your owner, who created all these worlds, not have created you as a single community, He says. Of course He could. Therefore,
until Allah's promise comes, because of what they did, those who deny will either keep being struck suddenly by a great calamity, or that calamity will descend near their homes. Allah never breaks His promise.
Today this verse supports this: We give the unbelievers two or three afflictions a year, He says. Some perish by it. And some see these worlds which He calls "near their homes". They see them. Yes.
How beautifully Allah Almighty explains.
According to the narrations, the Prophet (peace be upon him), to the unbelievers of Mecca, one day as he was explaining Islam, one of the polytheists, Abdullah ibn Umayya al-Makhzumi by name, says: These two mountains of Mecca are cramping us. Remove them from here so that our land widens. Make rivers flow between those mountains. Open up land fit for farming. Bring back to life such-and-such persons among our dead ancestors, so they can tell us: Is what you say true? Isn't it? Upon this, they say, this verse was revealed. Yes.
If by this book that is recited mountains were moved, He says. By this book. Or the earth were split apart by it, that book would still be this Holy Quran. Because the Quran is the word of Allah.
We made a covenant with you, He says.
Even if you are unaware of it in this world, it is in this memory of yours, He says. Since We created you among the forgetful, We, with you, closed off the covenant made at the address "Elestü bi-Rabbiküm".
Why did He close it off? From there, from the Barzakh, taking us, sir, until placing us as an embryo in the mother's womb, stage by stage, we passed through phases. Our souls being taken and coming to that realm of Jabarut, the realm of nearness, from there being sent to the realm of Malakut, becoming a spiritual soul, from there entering the mother's (?), her womb, putting on the bodily soul – the places passed through between these stages, for a person to know them – just as with a program on a computer where you give the password, the password – without giving that password you cannot see those parts; in the memory, in the computer's memory it is there, but your password is missing, so you cannot see them.
When do you see them? If you rise step by step by reforming your nafs, you crack the passwords, and as far as the places you came from you can see. Of course, if it is in your character, if it is in your covenant, if you came to know your Lord through a good covenant. In this case, since Allah Almighty has left people free in their own will, in their own will people – since they earlier made a covenant with Allah Almighty, since it was set up in an order, since in the universe it was programmed – now, He says, what will be will be. If, He says, We made manifest what you say, made it manifest – He says it in a verse – if We moved the mountains from their places and raised the dead, still you would say it is magic, He says.
Because his covenant is bad. He will never come to the right. To the right. And here too, what does He say? If by this book that is recited mountains were moved, or the earth split apart by it, that book would still be this Holy Quran. Because the Quran is the word of Allah. But all affairs belong to Allah. Many sciences are written in books. Unless people apply these sciences in the books, that written knowledge they cannot bring forth. Pointing to this, Allah: all sciences are in the Holy Quran. Allah sent the Holy Quran to guide people, to (?) before them. Do people still not understand Allah?
Do they not know that what is written in the Book is the word of Allah, that all affairs, by Allah, are sent? He says. Yes.
Now, sir,
we said that, according to (?) of the souls, locked like a lock on a computer, encrypted, but in man it is in this memory. As long as man cannot rule his nafs, he remains in this bodily soul state, and only with what his eyes see does he bargain, agree, work, or with it live. But if man wrestles with his nafs, if he reforms his nafs, there the passwords are cracked.
He rises from the nafs-i emmare to the nafs-i levvame. There too, if he is governed by Allah's command and turns to piety, he rises to the nafs-i mülhime. He comes to the door of wonders. If there he does not look at those wonders either, he rises to the nafs-i mutmainne. What does he do there? He becomes aware of the divine manifestations. If he passes that too, and continues toward Allah Almighty with love and affection, he enters the nafs-i radiye through the door of ilme'l-yakîn. Here he is kneaded with Allah Almighty's very own knowledge, and as a scholar returning to people, as one appointed, to people he explains. These are the scholars whom Allah bestows on people, the heirs of the Prophet.
Yes, so the computer's password asks you for a number or a letter, but Allah Almighty, instead of numbers and letters, asks of you the reform of your nafs; if you reform it, to certain levels you rise.
Yes.
Did the believers not know that if Allah willed, He would guide all people aright? Allah's power and knowledge suffice for everything. For everything. Allah left every person free in their will. To evaluate people by what they do and place them where they deserve, He sent people into this world.
As for those of people who deny, upon them either a great calamity will keep coming suddenly –
they will be exposed to a collective affliction like floods, storms, earthquakes, hurricanes – or they will be afflicted by various diseases. Because His saying "that calamity will descend near their homes" declares that family troubles and diseases will befall them. Besides this, for those who see the disasters of these floods, near their homes is where the disasters descend. Of course every person in this world is tested with their wealth and their lives. We test you with your wealth and your lives, He says. Even though Allah Almighty knows what kind of person we are, to make us witnesses against ourselves, He tests us sometimes with our lives, sometimes with our wealth.
Testing with our lives: He takes our children, He takes our mother or father, He gives us illnesses.
In this case such events as He calls "near their homes" come about. Allah never breaks His promise. Allah is complete and perfect. If Allah (?), what He says is truth, and He never goes back on what He says. Allah is the one who fulfills His promise.
