Vow to that; the Prophets before you were also mocked with and I have given time to the deniers, and then I seized them. (See) how My punishment is.
Tafsir
Allah swears by His Essence that they mocked at the Prophets before you. But Allah has given respite to those who disbelieve. The reason for this respite is so that people will not say that we were not free from mistakes and that You destroyed us immediately because of the mistakes we made. In one of the verses of the Qur'an, Allah says: "If you had been caught immediately for the mistakes you had made, you would not have found a single living creature on the earth". It is for the sake of Allah's mercy that a term is granted to mankind, so that those who disbelieve may increase their disbelief and become more confident and deny the Prophets, disbelieve in Allah and dare to talk back and forth, so that they may perish.
The disbelievers, instead of taking advantage of this period and repenting, increased their disbelief and disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. So Allah seized them. He swept away the people of that land and their people from the face of the earth. For them is a torment of destruction in this world and an everlasting and severe torment in the Hereafter.
What is said in the video
We have come to verse 32 of Surah Ar-Ra'd. Indeed, the prophets before you were also mocked, and I, to those who disbelieved, gave respite. Then I seized them. If only you had seen what My punishment was like, He says. So in every age the prophets have been mocked.
Do they not mock the heirs of the Prophet?
Do they not mock us?
Although I explain the truth, superstitions, falsehood, over the truth do they not try to spread?
And by interpreting Allah Almighty's verses all wrong and fitting every verse to their own minds and, accordingly, ascribing attributes to Allah and His Messenger, if it is deliberate, are they not preparing their place in the fire of Hell?
If unintentional, are they not increasing their punishment? Are they not increasing their sins?
When the truth is explained to people, it weighs on them. They do not want to listen to the truth. Because they are governed by superstitions. The moment his mind understands the truth, he sees that he is finished. Yes, "What will we do now?" they say. They say this; we hear it. "What will we do now?" they say. Instead of saying "What will we do now?" – if Allah Almighty has given you a chance, if He has sent you a treasure of knowledge, why do you not turn to it and improve yourself, why do you not repent for what you have done, for the past, and turn to the truth? So it weighs on your nafs. Fame, renown, pride and arrogance – the position you are in pleases you.
In this case you (?) your back to the truth and prefer to be governed by falsehood. Inclining to the transient pleasures of this world, you turn a blind eye to the punishment of the hereafter.
Yes. Everyone is free in their own will. Every bird sings in its own tongue, every people speaks in its own tongue; I speak not in the language of superstition but with Allah's word. Against Allah's word – if I speak outside Allah's word, let a person who speaks Allah's word come before me and say "Allah's word is this way or that," let him say it. Since he does not say this, if the superstitions too rise in revolt and slander a person only with words, and in return cannot show that person the truth (?), these people are people who wrong their own selves and prepare their place in Hell.
Yes. We read the verse. Indeed, the prophets before you were also mocked. I gave respite to those who disbelieved. Then I seized them. If only you had seen what My punishment was like. His showing Pharaoh seven miracles, His being patient, His giving respite to Lot (peace be upon him) together with his homosexual people, Noah living among his people for 960 years and giving them respite, in the end destroying the transgressors.
The people of Thamud too. Their slaughtering, killing Allah's camel; those who wanted to fit the miracle into their own minds and do away with it – (?) – His seizing and destroying them.
Allah Almighty, swearing by His essence: indeed, before you too the prophets were mocked. But Allah Almighty gave respite to those who disbelieved. The reason for this respite: so that people would not say, "We were not free from error; because of the errors we made You destroyed us at once," He gave them some time. This verse supports this verse: Had We seized you at once for the errors you made, not a single living being would remain on earth, He says. In one verse too, Allah Almighty: had you been seized at once for the errors you made, you would not find even a single living being on earth, it is decreed.
The granting of time to people as Allah's mercy is so that those who are unbelievers increase their unbelief, so that, all the more self-assured, they call the prophets liars, deny Allah, and, daring to speak recklessly, perish. The person wants this himself anyway.
The unbelievers, instead of treating this time given them as a windfall and repenting, kept increasing their unbelief and went against Allah and His Messenger. In the face of this, Allah seized them. He swept the people of that land, those peoples, off the face of the earth. For them there is both a punishment in this world through their destruction and in the hereafter an eternal, severe punishment. May Allah protect us from being such people.
